Italian restaurant with real Italians 😃 Delicious food, we have been coming here for years. Unique and delicious garlic bread, give it a try if you've never had it, you'll love it. Always delicious main courses. Phenomenal Desserts too, best Tiramisu ever. You won't find better. You can't book so get there when they open especially on nights they might be busy. Beware of pulling up outside there is a camera and you'll get a ticket if in the wrong place. Parking in various places nearby. Amazing staff. Big fuss made for birthdays if you want to share that with them. Best Italian I've been to and love to go back.

Didn’t see a queue outside so thought worth a try. But there was a 30min queue inside. Took ages for front of house to get to us. However once inside the pizza was delicious. We were not rushed and didn’t think prices were crazy.

The perfect spot for a mid-week dinner catch up with friends or a Saturday night date night with ambience. Would highly recommend. The food is great, completely fair price and the staff are attentive.

Belsit is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in this area. The family who runs this restaurant are very nice and food is amazing. I always get the Spanish buschetta while my dad gets the garlic bread and the prawns. Personally none of my family or friends have ever had a problem with this place. The only downside is the wait time. They do not take reservations and fair enough it’s a small plot but I think it adds to the atmosphere. Not for people who feel claustrophobic around lots of people as the tables are close together. Dessert I have heard from family is out of this world. Personally I don’t eat desserts in general (my own preference) but I recommend the tirimasu, the bread and butter pudding and the lobster linguine. The latter may run out quickly so better get there around 10 mins before it opens!! Overall amazing place will be continuously coming for years to come.

It is a typical family run Italian restaurant in the best way. Be aware you cannot book in advance and you might have to wait for a table a long time. I like this place and because it is always full they must do a lot of things right. That is the reason why I gave 5 stars what I normally never do

Afew gluten free options. Several vegetarian options too. Gluten free Portuguese garlic bread was delicious. Seriously garlicky. Cannelloni was well made and tomato sauce was tasty. Penne arrabiata was good but could do with a bit more chilli. Gluten free vegetable linguine was bland (we’d originally received a non gluten free dish and just happened to check, which isn’t great). Hence the low stars. Very busy and therefore a lively/noisy restaurant! Note: you can’t pre-book and you may have to wait. First time we came there was an hour long wait, so we left. This time we waited 25 minutes.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. We went here today with our two toddlers and the staff and amenities were super child friendly. The authentic Italian food was so so good! They also have high chairs. The food can be ordered as small portions for children. The small fork and spoon was perfect for them and not many restaurants offer this. The staff are so so so friendly, and the toddlers enjoyed having their attention. Thank you for the amazing food and hospitality

I have been going here since 1981 and everytime l go is the best time. This is my favourite restaurant in the whole world and l have been around the world. This restaurant is like family to me. No one l tell believes me.... and then l take them, and they get it. This is the best of the best of the best.

Great food but on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared to queue. Worth the wait but can be a bit too long if you have kids. Food is really good quality. Everyone is treated like family and I love the noise and busyness of it. Great for families!

A real favourite serving Italian food. Famous for it's pizzaa however for me the best two things on the menu is the crispy garlic bread and garlic prawns. They have specials as well and always worth asking about them. Deserts are home made and are superb. Only downside is there is no online booking. You have to wait for a table at certain times as it tends to get very busy on weekends. Opens at 6pm and usually a queue outside waiting patiently. Lunchtimes are easier to get a table. Service is always great and the staff are helpful and interact with diners. Highly recommend this place.

Always has been and always will be the best Italian around

Family run Italian restaurant with the friendliest service - delicious seafood linguine/tagliatelle and chicken Milanese. You can’t prebook so be prepared to queue for a table. Homemade tiramisu a must.

The food was very nice, big portions and tasty. Reasonably priced. I have given 4 stars because it is not the sort of atmosphere i enjoy when at an Italian. It was very loud, busy and seats were quite close together. This is my personal preference and not a huge negative.

Amazing food and friendly service ,make you feel like your a friend .. was there Saturday lunch time and was very busy (too many loud kids for my liking ,but thats not the restaurants fault) even thou busy the service and quality off food was at a very hight standard (garlic bread was very thin and crumbley ) .. A++++

I have eaten in this restaurant many times over the past 20 years and the hospitality has always been consistently good as is the food. It is a little cramped in places and the prices are not a affordable as in past times but they do create a warm friendly atmosphere and authentic Italian food with lots of repeat customer.

Been coming to this third generation family business for forty years. To me its my first choice venue for Italian food. Very welcoming staff plus great food at reasonable prices. Last visit was a quick lunch. Garlic bread a must for starter and a beautiful bowl of chilli Pasta-for mains. Great Pizza, fish or meat, whatever you want they normally accommodate. A must if you have not visited before.

Don't knock it till you've tried and tasted it!

First time going here with my husband and we had the best time. The pepperoni pizza special was so delicious and the homemade tiramisu was absolutely incredible. They even gave us a complimentary shot of an Italian spirit (can’t remember the name)!

Got my last pizza order of the summer as Bel-Sit is now closed for their annual holidays. Yummy 😋 as usual and I'll be queuing up for a table when they reopen in September.

Everyone raves about this place and I’m not sure why ? The starter was average , the dessert was average … the main was awful . Absolutely swimming in oil with no favour and now I feel so ill from consuming half a litre of oil ! . The waitress was lovely and the atmosphere was good but I will not be returning for food that is that poor

Have been coming here for years but this will be out last visit. Burnt garlic bread burnt pizza base and burned sauce on pasta. No atmosphere there now but the waiter was lovely

Great experience. Lively welcoming staff. Authentic food, fresh simple high quality ingredients - better than your usual chains. Seafood dishes were excellent as well as the pollo milanese. Good vibrant atmosphere, would definitely go back soon.

Been coming here for 20 years and it's still really good. I have to confess I get the same thing every time but it's still as good. Langoustines in garlic butter, calamari which are without doubt the best 2 versions of those dishes I've eaten anywhere. Brushetta and carbonara and the homemade desserts are also always good.

Avoid if you are a vegetarian as most of the food that is labelled vegetarian contains animal product! Their mozzarella is made with animal rennet so its not vegetarian and many other dishes at this place have the same issue! Even though the waitress was very helpful, we had to leave as basically there was not much on the menu that we could have eaten! It is extremely unprofessional and immoral to serve food and label food on your menu with V sign when it actually contains animal ingredients and the chef knew about it but they still sell it as vegetarian and disrespect their costumers by misleading them!

Was there for my birthday dinner a month back or so. I was intrigued by this place once before as I saw a quite long line of people waiting outside. I just moved to that hood and was checking out what's around. Staff were super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere in the restaurant is great and feels homely. 4 stars, because the food could have been a bit better namely seasoning in general and the lobster ravioli which was quite watery and the taste was not really there. Rest of the food was great!

Went with friends for lunch. Found staff friendly but a little bit pushy. Garlic bread was pretty poor, oily, non existent. Main courses were fine but have had better to be honest. Beers were extremely expensive at £6.00 a bottle and with no price list for them was a bit of a shock. London prices but not London quality. Unfortunately won't be returning. Think you need to review your prices.

Love pizzeria bel-sit Really nice local restaurant, waiters and waitresses are all very lovely and friendly. Busy atmosphere and they do make a deal when you are celebrating your birthday there. Lots of big groups. Really good food. Nice wine. You must try their homemade tiramisu and Nutella pudding! But you must be prepared to wait. The place gets packed out and you can't reserve. Also personally I don't like their cocktails so would opt for a long drink (g&t or whisky coke etc) or wine

Lovely little authentic restaurant. Long waiting times is the only grumble. And the desserts aren't great. Never the less I can highly recommend starters and mains 😋😋

Yesterday - First time dinning here with family. Very busy on a Saturday but good service and friendly staff. The food came out in good fashionable time. We que before they opened the doors so the wait was not too long to be seated. Food was lovely and every one was pleased. There is a number of selection on the menu to choose from starter to mains and dessert. My lasagne was nice overall but could have done with abit more sauce in between the lasagne sheets and abit more meat tbh. My child is just a fussy eater and so we order her some fries but they not the best type. But everything else was great!

Avoid at all costs, sadly the hype is not for the food! We visited the Belsit after hearing the hype and seeing the queue over the last few years, but was left before disappointed. Service & Seating The service was rushed and no one checked in to find out how the food was. The seating is cramped and is not an environment for holding conversations that you don’t wish to share with fellow diners. Queue As other reviews have alluded to, we also witnessed ‘queue jumping’ and friends who’s tables had been held for them. This was a shame as we had queued with no ability to book. Garlic bread- Poor The garlic bread resembled cardboard with fresh chunks of garlic stuck on top of it. The chunks of garlic made for a very unpleasant eating experience. Pizza - Satisfactory The pizza was okay but nothing special and I wouldn’t return for it. Tortellini- Poor The sauce was tasteless and presentation was a mess.

I was introduced to this place last week on the off chance. I will say it’s the best Italian food I have ever had. The garlic bread was that tasty it was unreal. I will be attending tonight with my beautiful wife because I have not stopped banging on about this little beauty of Woodford. 👏🏻🍷

Have being going to the bel-sit for about 30 years and love every thing about it , I took my children there now we all go as a family with my grandchildren.nothing but traditional family memories

Like many people, I have been coming here since 1983, I’ve spent literally thousands of pounds there over the years. But, its time to move on - Marco hardly comes in these days, as try and he may, his son just isn’t up to it or as dedicated. The portions have shrunk, the costs have become central london and the competition is fierce. Finally they are accepting cards, after years of refusing to do so (we all know why). But the same old tea pots, they still leak, the same old baskets with a napkin inside for the garlic bread. Please. Just admit its over. Close, take some well deserved time off, take down the football shirts and invest! It pains me to say this, but I found another real food Italian and have been seduced. Ok, the familiarity isnt there yet but it will be. Thanks for the memories but please.. I don’t want to see like the other, almost empty on a Friday lunchtime.

Thankfully didn’t have to queue. As usually the queues are so long … if I had of queued I would of been highly ticked off … I wanted to know what the hype was about .. truthfully nothing special .. Service was rushed waiters not updated on food items

It was humming by 6:15 on a Wednesday night so we had to queue for a table for 30 minutes. The food was well worth the wait. The starter prawns are a generous portion and delicious. Everything we are was superb but the it is quite pricey. I'd certainly go again though.

My family and I love this place. Food is delicious and not too pricey. Their garlic bread is the best. The only downside is that if you don't get there just after opening time then you will have to wait for a table to become available but that's only because it is so popular.

Excellent authentic Italian food cooked to a fantastic standard. I don't live in the area but it's the go to place when I pass through.

We have visited this great restaurant a couple of times over the past few weeks, following a recommendation from a friend, and it’s now a firm favourite. Lovely crispy garlic bread for starters followed by an old classic in Spaghetti Bolognese with breaded chicken (Milanese) which was cooked perfectly. Lovely fresh salad on the side and rocket with parmigiana. The desert board didn’t disappoint either, banoffee pie and chocolate brownie with ice cream and caramel sauce. The cocktails were also very good, would recommend the espresso martini. The staff are very friendly and love a chat, and and the place was buzzing for a Monday night which speaks volumes. Great place that I wish we found years ago and would highly recommend!

Great family run pizzeria. Well worth a visit if you love proper pizza

We’ve been going to the bel sit for over 20yrs - always good food and good value but that it seems has sadly long gone. The prices have gone up considerably and the portions and gone down drastically as has the menu and the use of garlic has gone way over board! We ordered some sides which now come in the smallest white bowl - I think we counted 10 tiny zucchini for £5!!! It would seem now it’s no longer cash the tip is automatically added which isn’t unusual generally but for the bel sit it is. Won’t be going back any time soon which is a shame.

Interesting range of food. The Penne Arrabbiata was just the right balance of flavour and heat.

Food really nice but portion of tortelloni a bit stingy. I slightly prefer picollo in wanstead as at least you can book and food is either same or better. And no queuing!

Best Italian restaurant in the South.

I have beeb going here for a number of years and the food is ok-to-good. But lately they have jacked up the prices and this is not reflected in the quality of the food. For example the "pasta with boar meat" had only a tiny amount of meat in it.

I like this place, its a glorified Pizza place, but i like it. The food isn't to bad, and i always thought it wasn't bad value. The Amarone used to be £60 a bottle. I like Amarone so just ordered it and never asked to look at the wine list. We had a couple of bottles £90 a bottle!! talk about a rip off. I wont be going here as often in future if i fancy a nice wine.

First time and we liked it - pasta seemed to be a better choice than pizza in our opinion.

I visited yesterday evening and have not been in years. It was delicious and just as lovely as I remember. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and I’m so pleased to see that it’s still run by the same family and had now been handed down the generations and is being run by a brother and sister team. Really lovely ambiance and delicious food. Only problem is you cannot book so get there early as it’s a very popular place.

We met up with another family and enjoyed a great meal in a lovely setting. The staff were so attentive and we all loved the meal. Cannot wait to return again

Arrived, busy venue but we were seated immediately, service was fine and friendly. The food on the other hand was unfortunately on this occasion an embarrassment. Dishes went back once because they missed the mushrooms off a steak and mushroom paste, then was sent back again when it was returned in a bowlful of brown liquid ( obviously hadn’t drained the pasta off).
