I went there after 2 years but this time the food wasn’t great. Child almost started vomiting after eating. Not going back again

This place doesn't sem to atract many reviews and I note that the proprietor(s) have not responded to any of them. The web site left me locked on the opening page unless I entered a post code. Not OK. We went in person to the place and used the electronic menu overhead which changes too fast to be able to study the large menu. We used the take-away service. All meat is claimed to be Halal so if you are concerned about the ethical slaughter of animals or other religious/moral issues, this place is not for you. Loads of burgers plus a range of other stuff. Nothing particularly remarkable or really very Texan, especially in portion size. My friends ordered a burger/chips and lamb ribs. I had Chicken Espetada. The burger was OK, it eas reported but didn't look much like the advertised picture. The ribs were reported to be "different" and really quite nice but it was felt that they were rather on the expensive side. My chicken espetada (a single skewer's worth) as a take away came off the skewer and in a foil tray with a loose runny sauce and didn't look anything loke the menu photo. No pot of dark brown stuff as pictured either. It did however taste really good with succulent chicken thighs, skin-on and off the bone. Total quantity was about what was pictured on the menu. I enjoyed this but it was probably rather expensive for what it was. Very prompt service and food was ready very quickly. Overall average - not a place I'll revisit often but it's ok enough to go back.

Have been going here for a few years now and the food never disappoints , great food , amazing staff and they have now added a few new items to the menu which were delicious . The piri piri sauce flavours they have are second to none .Cant wait to eat here again 😋

Worst food I’ve ever had in Southampton, I paid over £65 for an order and what I got was absolute rubbish. 1. Overpriced and Poor Value: Despite spending over £65 on this order, the portion sizes were extremely small and not at all reflective of the price. The rice boxes alone, which were over £13 each, were tiny and simply not worth the cost. 2. Cold and Unappetizing Food: Both the rice boxes and fries arrived completely cold, with no steam to indicate any freshness. The fries were soggy, came in small, flimsy boxes, and one box was even ripped. 3. Dry Chicken with Minimal Sauce: The chicken in the order was dry and lacked flavor, with barely any sauce. It was disappointing and made the meal unenjoyable.

I'll start by saying I was disappointed by the grilled chicken. Sauce is as thin as it gets (diluted down with water) and barely licks the chicken pieces. We did not order burgers, but the salad bar was a welcome bonus with jalapeños as well as other delights. Spicy fries are fries sprinkled with chaat masala, so it was all a little discombobulated imo. So the question is, would I return or pay an extra tenner for Nandos. I'd have to say, it may well be my first and last visit!

The food is amazing! I ordered on Uber eats and they prepared the food efficiently. The lamb burger is the best. the meat is juicy and the frieds not grassy at all!!! Also the price is pretty❤️❤️

Awesome Burgers, Peri Peri Chicken, Kebabs and Milk Shakes. 😋 First went here around eight years ago when my daughter started at Southampton University. Now a regular stop whenever I'm in town

Went based on prior recommendations and decent reviews, only to be dissatisfied by the end. Ordered a Texas bbq burger, and a cheeseburger with cheesy fries. cheeseburger patty was over cooked and rock solid likewise with the Texas burger, the fries were simply with bits of shredded, coagulating cheese on top.

The wings are terrible, burnt on the outside and dry on the inside.

Burgers are amazing, but the fries were cold and dry and Hardly seasoned. The staff was unpleasant and they got our order wrong. Atmosphere in the place is alright.

We came into this restaurant after a trip away and we wanted something before a long travel. We based our trip here on the reviews but we couldn’t understand the hype and where the good experience from the food particularly came from. I had a chicken burger and paid extra for spicy fries. No faulting the size of the portions for the money but just putting pepper seasoning on the chips isn’t spicy fries? For some, the chicken fillet can be too much and seem to be triple coated, not that there was anything wrong but it can be filling for some. However my partner had one of the signature burgers and the beef patty was completely tasteless. Both burgers were served on just ordinary Tesco seeded buns and the rice that was suppose to be Mexican was literally white rice? And the chicken wings were so so small. Not much interactions with the staff and only one other table in there but I wouldn’t recommend this place based on the quality of food but I would however recommend if you are on a tighter budget and you want bigger portions👍🏽

Really good burgers. Food is excellent, price and service very good. Eating in doesn't have the best atmosphere but they have some comfy booths and I imagine it is pretty good for larger groups (it was just two of us when we ate there).

Texas Grill This used to be a well run welcoming place offering a decent spread, not been for a while and the place has certainly taken a slide down the path, fairly slow and portions are now tiny, kids nuggets meals have gone from 6 pieces to three for the same price & I counted 19 chips in my meal, it was a third of the portion, really disappointing for an eight pounds meal. Much improved, upgraded from two to four stars.

Abbas made sure our order was accurate while waqas prepared the burgers with love. Thanks to Nabeel and Idrees too for their work in providing an amazing experience. I ordered 3 types of burgers, half grill platter along with milk shakes and kids sides and drink. Food was freshly prepared with decent sized portions which filled us up very easily. Milkshakes were very nice and burgers had a unique taste to them. Every burger while being chicken, had a distinct taste. 5⭐️ for food no doubt. Only thing that can be improved is the shakes can be made a bit more thicker which to be fair I did not ask for or else I am sure they would have happily made it. Next comes dining area and standard of cleanliness. Most resturant that aren't posh will save money in these areas. Either not working on keeping toilets and dining area tidy or using old sofas as they think no one will notice slighly ripped or used sofas. This place does not cheap out on these services. Dining area is brand new sofas kept in excellent condition and spotless for every customer. Tables are wood slabs and are clean and not sticky at all. Toilets on the other hand are clean as they can be. Excellent quality of food and exceptional level of service. I am sure the owner looks after their staff and they in return look after the customers and provide an amazing experience. DO NOT think of this as a typical chicken shop. THEY are far more than that. 👍

We were 3 people on job in Southampton and decided to visit this restaurant for lunch meal. It was our biggest mistake because staff ruined our meal. We asked for something else and served something else. Grilled wings were not fresh and served cold.

Quick service Great grills and burgers Love chicken try the big chick. Big Chick is my favourite followed by the double zingy if you are super hungry. Followed by the Southern Fried Chicken burger. The chicken steak and lamb chops are pretty good Prices are creeping up quick like everywhere and the sizes decreasing rapidly

Best Grilled Chicken in the town highly recommended to everyone.

It was 2nd visit. Previous visit food was good so I decided to try again. Order there mixed grill which served after 5 minutes, which made us surprised that how come it grilled so quickly. But when we started eating, everything was cold and felt it was leftovers It's taste was strange and it was bearley warm. We complained and the waiter replied, oh wait I can make it hot again. We paid so much and he just made it warm for 1 minute and brought back. Never again we will visit this place.

I asked for the lunch menu it was before 4.30 and he stated it was no longer availble which I thought was cheeky decent food but clearly don’t want to honor deals that they have on the door wouldn’t reccomend

Went on Monday with family been going there for more then 15 year's but recently their quality of food has gone downhill, all the meal was burnt and the staff weren't bothered.

Delivery 30 minutes late. Food would have been good had if not been cold. Not worth 34 quid. Therefore wouldn't recommend and won't order again sadly

5 of us went to sit in on a Tuesday evening nice empty restaurant went up to order my food asked for half chicken meal asked if I could have 2 breast piece the guy at the till didn't even bother telling the chef even saw one of the staff picking his nose and cutting his nails under the counter! staff hygiene is really bad however the food was ok not great chicken hardly had any flavour burgers were cold wouldn't return back to this place again awful avoid if you can!!

You order 10 meals on the meal deal at £4.49 (£44.90), as advertised, and they charge you £66.90. I then asked why and they said that I had to specify lunch time deal. Well if 12.30pm isn’t lunchtime then I don’t when is. Yes I should have questioned it before paying but you rely to a point on the honesty and integrity of the restaurant. The sad thing is that we are based just up the road from them but we will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.

Im visiting with family and i was worried that I may find it difficult to locate a halal fast food outlet . This place did not disappoint, their burgers are amazing the best I've ever tasted. Defiantly reccomend this place .

Dropped in here due to a lack of options on a Saturday evening. I'm sure that my friend had a black hair on his plate. Greasy offerings as expected, chip centric but they also offer nandos style chicken.

I ordered the chicken classic burger with special 2 wings and chips, was £8,50 , it took very long to arrive, I'm sorry to say the chips were normal chips with nothing onit just dry chips , the classic burger was very dry and I had to put tomatoes inside it , I was expecting to be very good tbh, it was average burger with hardly any taste, the 2 tiny wings was nothing tasty it was all pretty bland , disappointing to wait very long for somthing that I expected to taste great, last time was very good but this time round it wasn't, as I'm traveler from London, I hope it's not like that if I visit again

Food was decent but the portions felt on the smaller side

I was in Southampton to visit family and decided to try out Texas Grill after hearing locals raving about the place. I had the Fat Burger and truthfully, I found it to be OK at best. The beef patty was of a mid-level quality and lacked seasoning, whilst the chicken stuffed inside the 8oz patty tasted like one fried straight from a frozen packet. If this is Southampton's best offering for halal burgers, then it reflects poorly on Southampton's halal food scene. I would advise you take the trip up the M3, past Basingstoke and into Berkshire, where you will see exponentially better halal burgers (gourmet, smash and 'McDonald style') for much better prices in Slough, Reading etc.

I love their burgers, but sadly they can be inconsistent. For example I used to order the same burger from them every week for a couple of months, and then suddenly noticed they changed the patty and it didn’t taste as good as before. I suspect they ran out of stock of that patty, and swapped it for another thinking that I wouldn’t notice any difference. Or maybe they changed their chef. No idea. But it has put me off from buying their burgers ever since. I love their classic flavour milkshakes, especially strawberry flavour. They use a lot of ice cream to make their milkshake very thick.

It was my first visit. The place was clean and I could tell the high standard of hygiene. Menu had list of items. Prices were good value for money. Toilets were clean too. Staff was welcoming and smiling and seemed rather professional. My overall experience was wonderful. Thanks to my friend who recommended this place and now I recommend it to everyone. If you want halal and delicious burger in the city then this place is a must visit. Although parking is tricky and you’d be lucky to find Road parking otherwise there is a paid parking opposite to a supermarket. Attached are the photos for reference.

Doesn't even deserve the 1 star.. Food was freezing, very over cooked and tasteless. Chessy chips had hardly no cheese on, and what was them was a blob on a few chips. Portion size was rubbish for what you paid. Burger was bland the meat was over cooked.

A great place with lots of seating for a family or a group of friends to eat in. Their simple menu is nicely laid out with a choice of grilled chicken, peri peri platters, chicken espetada, beef burgers and chicken burgers. We tried the burgers and they were exceptional. It took us a while to finish but it was worth it.

The Big Chick burger is amazing, I get it every time . Always very quick and friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered a peri peri chicken deluxe meal, they put chicken strips instead of a fillet in burger, the chicken didn't feel fresh and the chicken did not have any marinade on, looked like a dry chicken burger,

A nice selection of slightly different burgers to the norm. A bit pricer maybe, but a better quality and put together than your average Macdonald's. The Turkey bacon is probably best avoided, but having Lamb burgers does make up for the lack of pork on the menu 🙂.

Good food and suitable for family or group eating. (update as for October 2022) Reducing 2 stars from previous reviews due to the falling hygiene issue. This might be the last time will eat in here. Unless serious staff clean & hygiene practice is resolve and improve.

Beggar place, Very rude customer service only asked for chilli sauce and I was told 50 pence extra. The way he said as if I was running away such a beggar what an,attitude!

Delicious food, service a bit chaotic as restaurant quite busy. Toilets are a bit stinky. All food is halal which is a bonus for anyone with dietary needs. Will be back again for the food!

Made the mistake today of ordering an Hawaiian burger and fries from Texas Grill. Was charged 11.79 including tip for the Uber Eats delivery . Food arrived an hour and 15 minutes after order stone cold. It was in an uninsulated box and paper bag and there was never any chance of it arriving even warm . The burger was a miserable looking specimen with none of advertised toppings. A call to the restaurant to complain led to them blaming uber eats . I work in Southampton and would like to support local businesses but this one avoid.

Had the joe something burger, spicy fries and wings. Burger was pretty good. Fries were nice but not very spicy at all. Could have provided a dipping sauce. Wings were certainly no rios piri piri wings but were sufficient. Solid 4 stars mostly because of the delicious stuffed borger. And a decent price £10.

Beef burger was dry, flavourless and appalling. So we're jalapeno-cheese bites. Grilled Chicken items (wings, steaks) were better. Nowhere in Texas have I tasted food like I tasted at this Texas inspired grill.

Visited diner on way to and from Isle of Wight - as only halal option known. Interior is nicely set up. No baby changing facilities. Both times - food was decent, but small portions. A bit overpriced for what was actually given. Staff seemed to prioritise white customers. NHS discount was advertised but told not given on platters when ordering. In the future won’t be coming again, and would not recommend to others.

Best burger I've had in Southampton. Always nicely cooked and with lovely sides and add ons. Lovely chargrilled peri peri chicken too.
