A proper night out isn't complete without stopping off on the way home to get some wonderfully greasy, unhealthy food, and we have a tradition in our house that you must return bearing delicious gifts for all those who didn't go out. Charcoal Grill in Bitterne is perfect for doing exactly that. During our recent visit the staff were friendly and welcoming, greeting every customer who walked through the door and chatting to people whilst they waited for their food. It was a busy Saturday night but the team worked together efficiently to provide a good service. They do the classic takeaway favourites with a wide variety of kebabs, pizzas, burgers and chicken plus all the usual sides and plenty of vegetarian choices. There are a number of offers on set meal deals for up to 4 people and also a separate kids menu as well as a small selection of desserts and soft drinks. They are open 7 days a week, Sunday to Thursday 4pm until midnight and Friday and Saturday 4pm until 2am. Fresh foods, which they prepare on a daily basis, are kept refrigerated until needed, and hot food is cooked to order in their open kitchen, which looks clean and well organised. The generous portion sizes make their prices very reasonable, we ordered hot food for 5 people and because it came to just over £40 we were given a 1.5 litre bottle of Tango for free. We left with 2 bulging carrier bags and the food was still piping hot when we sat down to eat it about 20 minutes later. Everything tasted absolutely great and we had enough leftovers for brunch the next day so we definitely got value for money. We don't often have a night out but whenever we do we continue to uphold tradition and our top choice for the all important food stop on the way home is Charcoal Grill in Bitterne.

Wow I rode here as I wanted a fresh kebab, £16,49 for chicken and shish kebab while 5 workers are stood doing nothing!! No wonder the place was empty. Clearly most have realised and hopefully others realise that there are plenty of other kebab places that are reasonably priced. I still cannot beleive it was that much for a collection wow just wow

Been here a few times now and this last time was outstanding pizza tasty delicious. Mac and cheese balls Devine. Portion of mushrooms yummy and crispy chicken with a kick yum yums. Thank you charcoal grill keep up the good work chef outstanding

Iv used charcoal grill for the last 14 years, always supplying great authentic food, salad is always fresh, always hot and well cooked food, I wouldn't buy anywhere else.

Absolutely delicious chicken kebab, I ordered a few times! The manager is very helpful. We had problems with uber eat, he solved our problem right away, so helpful and client oriented service. Food is amazing every time we ordered, now it's our favourite kebab shop.

They just trown a load of meat into a small box the is soaked in fat no chilli sauce just disgusting the Fat has soaked through the box and threw the paper. Totally disgusting. I won’t be buying from you even my dog turned he’s nose up it’s in the bin ..

£14 for a large chicken shish! It’s under £10 everywhere else! They have hiked their prices up massively, champagne prices for lemonade food. I walked out without ordering, went on just eat when I got home and got large chicken shish plus two bits of fried chicken and chips delivered within half hour for £13.50 Food gone downhill and prices gone uphill big time. Ordered Takeaway Delivery took ages - 1 hour and 18 mins Food arrived not very hot Portion sizes have decreased- not so much meat (I think the shop is under new management). Sauce covered everything and dominated the taste and they got the sauce wrong! I ordered bbq and got goodness knows what! Very poor and won’t be in a hurry to go back - I will e using another Kebab Shop!

Best kebab place in Southampton! Asked for delivery as we were out of the delivery zone and they kindly did. The portion sizes were huge and smothered in sauce and extra fried veg which we asked for (other places are very stingy!) absolutely lovely food and the garlic mayo is banging.

Portion of chips were completly soggy, not a single crispy chip in there at all. Tomato placed in the salad after I didn’t order. Why ask what I want, If you just put in what you want anyway. Not usually a disappointing place to buy from, but if I’m paying £30 for food, I want to be able to eat all of it.

Very nice chicken kebab and chips only criticism is when they ask you do you want any sauce and you say yes they badly give you any and when you pay for a tub of Mayo you'll be lucky we get it they leave it out more often than not

Ordered from here whilst out on the motorbike. Havent ordered in a long time due to moving out of the area... what can i say, incredible! Lived up to my expectations and certainly did not disappoint! Ordered a mixed grill, lovely and hot, fresh chilli sauce and meat was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be taking a ride to grab another soon

Shockingly horrible mixed kebab. Charged £14 for something that was definitely not edible. The kebab meat if that what it was, was full of grease along with the rest of the so called ‘meat’ AVOID this place. I certainly will not be using them again. This was a delivered order. I have been in the past after a visit to the pub and they will rip you off if they notice you are a bit drunk. Not very nice people at all. Don’t waste your hard earned cash on these crooks.

Absolutely disgusting man on phone was so rude the kebabs are full of grease and I mean swimming refused to give us refund and was mouthy on the phone so went there and no one said a word and got the refund waste of space never go there stay away DISGUSTING
