Pizza Italia in Liverpool

service was good, but the pizza was horrendous ! and i was high so imagine how bad a pizza has to be for a stoned teen to think it was disgusting …😫😂

We have been going to Pizza Italia for over thirty years and never had a problem until the new owners took over. Tonight was the worst yet. Ordered online via their website and waited for an hour. Phoned to ask what the problem was and told something to do with the computer upgrading. Told would be 30 minutes , 40 minutes later still no delivery. Phoned again told within 10 min. 15 minutes later still not arrived. Phoned back and the response was very rude and aggressive and he put the phone down on me. 10 minutes later it arrived by this time the children were really fed up. The food was cold and most of it went in the bin. As a result mainly of the aggressive response they have lost a customer of over 30 years.

Beautiful tasty pizzas, I prefer the new ownership,Super fast delivery,I would highly recommend and I can’t wait to order again.

The food is just as good as any other small fast food place, the atmosphere is dull/dirty. Don’t see them clean the table either. However, the service is the worst thing here. Staff seemed bored of their jobs, and rather unfriendly. The food took ages to get ready, besides the common size order we made, and the food was rather expensive compared to anywhere else I’ve been.

Absolutely disgusting, only just found out it had new owners, if I'd known how bad a palermo pizza had gone wudda bought a tex mex from Iceland. Absolutely woeful.

I didn't realise that original owners had sold shop. Pizzas aren't the same! Thin and crispy base isn't like it used to be. The pizza I ordered wasn't bad, I just prefer the original pizzas. :(

Been ordering from Pizza Italia since Gateacre. First time ordering since the new owners took over. Always go for the 16 inch deep pan Mafia. Only had the option for thin and crispy on Just Eat, but have to say I think the dough was much lighter more authentic than the old owner's and the pizza was cooked perfect. The mafia sauce changed a long time ago in my opinion and today's sauce was plentiful and tasty the only thing I would say is increase the spice a couple of notches, but I know they have to cater for everyone's tastes and some can't handle it too hot. Delivery was the fastest I have ever had from Pizza Italia and the restaurant delivery guy professional and friendly.

New owners have totally ruined the mafia pizza. Hardly any sauce, very few onions and overkill with the capers. Been going here for 20 years, but won't no more sadly.

This place used to be fantastic, it has recently changed ownership and it really shows. We ordered 2 pizzas and a kebab, the pizzas had basic ingredients - mainly raw onion and were basically disgusting. The kebab was cold and tasteless, the pitta bread wasn't even in the box - just plonked on top and not sliced open. The good thing is that the new owners won't be around for very long - they will lose so much money they will soon sell up. Don't use this place - it's rubbish?

Food is not good since it was taken over by new owners. I have been going here since it was in Gateacre and was so disappointed with the new pizza. The chips were also like cheap kebab shop chips and no more pasta! Such a shame but I won’t be ordering again.

Shame old owners sold, my pizza was late and delivered wrong pizza. think they never put sauce on my mafia pizza. Don't think I will order again.

I'm devastated. Pizza italia has been sold to a new owner and the pizza is not pizza italia no more. They don't do deep pan and the dough isn't the same. The tomato sauce has changed and for the 1st time in 25 years of pizza from here I was hungry after my food. The pizza has been changed so much it is the same quality as kebab shop pizza with far less flavour than the original owners used to make. Its a real shame as it was a jewel of a takeaway. I will never order from here again I'm sorry to say.

Just ordered a 16” thin and crispy pizza (sea food) arrived on time that was the only good part. We only live less than 5 minutes from shop but it arrived cold ! As for taste you could taste the tomato base and cheese topping but as for seafood it may as well have been cheese and tomato topping. Phoned to complain. Owner answered phone and said the shop had now been taken over and all of the old owner (Steve) customers keep ringing up and complaining. Well that tells you what type of pizza they are making. I would have rather gone to Asda I would have got what I ordered and a quarter of the price ! BEWARE TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY Will not order again, definitely not the same quality or taste.

Absolutely fantastic food pizza made fresh everyday topping and sauce amazing good amount not to much that makes it look like a mess unlike the old owners bought from them an got food poisoning tried under new owners would recommend to anyone to try and there grilled menu is amazing also

If you loved buying pizza here you won't anymore!!! New owners - why ????? When I called to make my order I was told they don't make that amazing deep pan base anymore only a thin and crispy. That's when they told me they took the shop over but assured me the pizzas, toppings, quality was the same..THEY LIED! Paid the exact same prices for my pizza and a tray of chips (chips were amazing now just skinny French fry chips that arrived half cold) pizzas are usually completely laden with toppings, now the toppings are scarce, veg wasn't as fresh and chunky as usual and the sauce didnt taste a thing like the signature sauce we all know and love. When the driver handed me my delivery I thought the box was empty, it usually weights so heavy (and that's 10") got a bloody cheek to charge original Pizza Italia prices, over £20 for this pathetic order. Pizza is nowhere near the same quality, standard or taste. It's just another bog standard pizza shop thats nothing special. Won't be going back,I'd rather buy a pizza from Costco and have change than waste my money here!

We too have been ordering from pizza italia since gateacre. Just ordered 2 16inch pizza mafia costing nearly 40 pounds. What a waste of money. It was absolutely disgusting no toppings and the signature sauce that it's famous for was non existent. Just a drizzle on top which was neither here nor there. We have always bought the mafia and enjoyed it so much. But will never order from there again. The new owners are so tight with everything not worth the money. Come back old owners.

Been ordering here since they where at Gateacre Park drive, so for a long time. New owners, pizzas not the same, very disappointed as couldn't actually eat it, old ones so delicious, definitely looking elsewhere these days, sorry to say

Best pizza in Liverpool bar none. We have been ordering from Pizza Italia since they were in Gateacre and that was many years ago. Love the change to red chillies on the Palermo and hope it stays that way. Been ordering the All Meat for years and the standard is excellent. The vegetarian pizza is fantastic too. Highly recommend and the service is excellent every order.

Not quite sure with the pizza mafia tonight. Didn't taste the same as normal has something changed, weren't a lot of capers on at all not sure if this was affecting taste. Two eating with same opinion. Lost count how many we've had in past so a genuine comment.

The ingredients didn't taste "real". Most of the ingredients tasted very plasticy and artificial. The pepperoni seemed like an unnatural colour etc. It isn't cooked in a wood burning oven or anything either which is not suggested or claimed by them to be fair, but it again didn't look, feel or taste authentic or fresh. I was disappointed and binned approx half of what was a £25 pizza

Ordered a pizza, garlic bread and kebab last night. Pizza so dry I choked and the kebab was thick strips of BURNT doner meat making it inedible. Disappointed as wouldn’t normally choose Pizza Italia but decided we would have a change for our takeaway treat. Safe to say it will be the last time I order.

The garlic bread it overdone it’s almost burned and I can’t taste any garlic in it it’s just like cheese on bread. The Risotto is also very bland it tastes like hospital food. I’m not happy with this order at all.

Amazing! Delivery driver was friendly. I asked for a pot of parmasen because it wasn't on the menu to order and they sent a generous portion. The garlic baguette is out of this world! I will definitely be ordering from here again and recommending to others! Thank you

Been coming to Pizza Italia since 1997. It is without a doubt the best pizza place in the city. Nowhere even comes close to them.

Really pleasantly surprised, very large portions and the food was hot and fresh. The garlic mayo was also very good. Worth a try if you're considering it!

Pizza overcooked didn’t see any cheese? too much tomato sauce, chicken tasted ok but coating was fatty. Cake was nice but why add the cream? I thought it would be separate. I’m not happy what I’ve paid & I had orders from Pizza Italia in the past the quality was much better so I’m disappointed.

Been using Pizza Italia for as long as I can remember. Back to when they were located at Gateacre Park Drive shops. The Pizza Mafia is in my opinion the best!!! And the owners and staff are lovely people too! 👍

Terrible service. Got told my food was delivered “over an hour ago” which is impossible seeing as that is exactly when I ordered it so how can you deliver in an instant? The lady was rude and just wanted to rush me off the phone, no customer service and then told me “I don’t know nothing about that” after I informed her the food wasn’t delivered. Save your money and don’t bother with this place….. Still never got the delivery 😒

I’m not fussy but this food was vile! Pizza and garlic bread had no flavour. Chicken burger was caked in mayo & chips were soggy. Cost £46 and took an hour to arrive. Definitely won’t order from here again.

Chicken kebab was hot and spicy( no mention of how hot it was on the menu) my wife couldn’t eat it, if you want a hot kebab you order a hot sauce. pizza was over cooked and burnt on on the base! It was like eating cardboard! The pizza topping however was fabulous and I’m sure if not over cooked the pizza would have been fine. We binned the kebab and ate the pizza topping, not much else to say considering we paid £20 for 2 meals.

Pizza was like a piece of wood had one bite and threw it in the bin the garlic bread came out the box in one full piece it was that stiff and the missed the dip off 👏 straight up 1/10

i’ve ordered a mafia pizza on thin crust and it was awful, tasted like sweet and sour sauce instead of tomato, i had two sliced and binned the rest, the smell, the taste… everything about this pizza was bad

Driver was a sweetheart but so disappointed re the food. Fries were cheap and nothing special. Spag bol was tagliatelle and not spaghetti which I love. Again, nowt special. Ice cream was vile. Sorry to say.
