Pizza Island in Maldon

Group of friends stayed at local air bnb and found takeaway online with decent reviews. After spending time ordering online building 5 specific burgers disappointed to receive a we are not taking orders’ message. Having then rang up, told we can take your order after all as we know your a holiday rental. I can now see why, because the burgers were awful, although we were asked if we wanted salad, cheese, ketchup in burgers we then didn’t get any of this, just floppy burger in a soggy bun. The pizzas were better but very thick base and heavy. After eating the disgusting burgers though,the damage had been done and felt we were used as an easy target for an easy £60 who is unlikely to be repeat business.

My parents and I arrived in Burnham after a 9 hour car journey. We new nothing of the place so googled local takeaways and pizza island was the first to come up. The staff were really friendly and funny. The pizza was amazing and delicious and was definitely made with fresh ingredients. The chips are not skinny and not thick, just perfect. If we are in the area again we will definitely go back!

First time using Pizza Island as recommended by family. We've done the usual pizzas in the area which are fine, but Pizza Island just has something etc. Straight away when you open the box, you notice it is piping not, second thing you notice is the quality of the ingredients are excellent. Got to be honest, ordering the doner kebab pizza, I was weary of what the kebab meat was going to be like, but it was excellent, tasty, meaty and not fatty. The base was slightly different from other bases but really nice, slightly thicker, but very light. We had the meal deal, two for 10.99 and could not fault the quality and value for money. Having had meaty dishes from other places, sometimes the meat looks a bit over-processed and synthetic. But Pizza Island was just fresh, hot, clean and very very tasty. Will be using them from now on, as they are the best in the area, from what we have experienced.

Very pleased with this lovely Meal Deal Pizza. The Onion Rings were perfect, and the Cole Slaw was the very best. Excellent huge Pizza, more than enough for two. Ordered and paid online and delivered from Burnham to Southminster in less than 15 minutes. Thank you very much, very happy to highly recommend.

After a week of problems with heating and cars. We decided a treat was in order for Saturday night. We had the meal deal and 1 extra pizza. Which worked out well. Myself and my husband had vegetable pizzas and it was no trouble for mine not to have sweetcorn on. They was loaded with plenty of veg and cheese. The kids had pepperoni and chips on the side and ate it all. Great customer service and great food.

We have had food delivered from here a few times but have always found the portions of food that isn't Pizza small. The Pizzas we have always found to be greasy to the point of dripping and the last time we got food from there I collected and when I got the pizzas home the bottom of the pizza box was so sodden it stained my passenger car seat :( Portions and quality I have found better elsewhere.

The Pizza island is great, taste is fine, very enjoyable to eat and the chees is cheesy not sticky, very well prepared on time and just popped it as I walked by.

Love the food from this place. Always honest with delivery times even if a little longer than hoped, but if they're busy that's got to be a good sign. Delivery times always accurate and often early. Pizzas are top and clearly they know how to make a pizza. A regular customer and get discount codes occasionally too, especially Black Friday was a winner. Generally order online as it's fast and easy and I don't like talking to people. Thanks Guys and Girls

Excellent value meal deal with a wide choice of side dishes. Once I'd logged in it took me a minute to work out how to design my own pizza but was really easy after I'd worked it out and would probably be even easier for someone who isn't an IT dinosaur like me! This is the second delivery we've had and both time it's arrived earlier than expected, not bad when you live in a property that's difficult to find. Tasty food, quick delivery at a good price - what more can you ask for?

Since moving to Mayland at the end of march we have had many a wonderful hot luscious meal from Pizza Island. Highly recommend! Food georgous, fresh and hot :-).delivery drivers are top notch. Thanks Pizza Island.

If you happen to live in the Dengie area, or just visiting, i would honestly recommend visiting or calling Pizza Island for some quality food. Since their establishment, they have certainly over taken their competition of similar food-genre in the area, easily your first choice pizza takeaway restaurant. Their menu includes all what you would expect, Pizza, Grills, Desserts plus a whole lot more, including the ever-moreish 'Pizza-Island Special' and their Hot n Spicy that does deliver on it's name. Another plus point of Pizza Island that i've found is their website with their own online ordering system, which is really easy to use, especially when it comes to customising your custom pizza toppings. It will also remember your previous orders which is pretty cool, so if you like to keep your orders the same, you can can order your favourites in just a couple clicks, lol. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the delivery times are pretty good, most of the time my food has turned up before the stated time! Hmm, all this typing is making me hungry! not long till opening time..

Ordered last night for the first time (am usually a loyal Dominoes customer) and can say that it won't be the last! Had a 14" stuffed crust BBQ Feast and a 12" Four Cheese pizza and they were amazing! The chinese chicken tasted like it was direct from a Chinese restaurant and the Cheese pizza was loaded to the brim with lovely gooey cheese - and you could tell it wasn't the horrible nasty "plastic-y" cheese like you get from some places! Both had lovely crispy bases and were evenly cooked. Much more toppings than you get at other restaurant or on a frozen supermarket pizza. Also ordered twister fries, coleslaw and a garlic mayo dip. Twisters were nice and crispy and the garlic mayo was much nicer than the normal pre-packaged dips you get from Dominoes! You could tell it had been prepared that evening. And the coleslaw was amazing! Definitely homemade, perfect for dipping crusts into! Ordered online, Paid online and delivered to the door piping hot in just under 30 mins on a Saturday night. All for a much lower price than I normally pay at Dominoes! All in all, definitely a satisfied customer and will definitely be ordering again! Might have to try their 2 9" pizza's for £10 offer - seems too good to miss!
