Pizza Hut in Exeter

This branch of Pizza Hut is due to close soon (according to local news websites), so we decided to take one last trip as a family as we have nice memories of eating here. The food from the kitchen was nice and the salad bar fine, however the ice cream factory wasn’t working and looking a bit sad with ice cream all over the sprinkle shakers, there was no ice in the drinks machine either. We enjoyed our meal but it so sad to see what covid-era online ordering and tight budgets are doing to family restaurants like these. They ask you to order online yourself, website decent enough but takes ages as we have to enter everything. You pay first and are asked if you want to leave a tip, well, not yet as we have not yet had any service.... and we didn’t really from then on, most of it was self-service (which the kids love) but our waitress was so overworked that she had no chance of clearing tables or being present to respond to what people needed - kept having to get up and go to front of house/delivery and ask. Again just completely not her fault, cutbacks mean there are just nowhere near enough staff out on the floor, everyone was hardworking and pleasant when we dealt with them, it’s just frustrating to have your dessert among dusty dishes from your main course. Pizza Hut is not a cheap night out and I’d so much rather pay a little more for it to be a proper restaurant again with someone taking your order and paying at the end.

We went for the lunchtime buffet. The waitress who seated us was lovely then you order through your phone which was great. The pizzas were amazing but they only put them out one or two at a time which wasn't great when there were quite a few tables full so everyone was running up at once each time.

The card machine would not work or the online ordering System however the girls working did fantastic under pressure from other customers as well as trying to serve food. Clearly it doesn’t help the staff when their equipment doesn’t work but nevertheless can’t fault the service top notch.

Popped in for lunch today was escorted to a suitable table for myself and the gentleman in a wheelchair that I had with me, staff were very polite and efficient, buffet lunch was very enjoyable, must say Vivien the waitress was a god send with our requirements - a total credit to this company, nothing was a problem for her,so thank you vivien , we will be back

Had an amazing lunch with my friends. Vivien served on a busy Saturday she was amazing 🤩 she handled the whole restaurant by herself. Loved our pizzas too 😍

Very unprofessional. Ordered a takeaway around 9pm and they just spontaneously cancelled the order at 11pm. No explanation. Incredibly poor.

Great vegan options but they won’t take cash?! This is an excellent fast food outlet, unlimited salad, a planet-friendly menu, unmasked, smiling staff which is great to see. We were looked after very well by Emily who took our order without us having to wrestle with an App. Take cash and I’ll give five stars next time, it’s legal tender.

Eight of us ate at this fantastic place , first time and were not disappointed.Staff were amazing,especially Vivienne who looked after us.We were celebrating my granddaughter’s birthday. We had a great time,food atmosphere and lovely,friendly staff make this place a delight to visit.Thank you so much for making Freya’s time so special, she loved it.

Excellent service despite being short staffed, Jane was really lovely and helpful. Food served quickly via the App. Felt very clean and safe.

Turned up approx 2pm when the buffet was being served. The buffet was fully laid out and the most of the tables were free. They were refusing entry until 5pm due to ‘only one person on front of house’, but as soon as I questioned it another appeared to back him up. They were turning away the whole queue and said they won’t take any bookings either. I explained I just wanted some buffet which was right in front of me and they were at less than half capacity but they still refused and the manager was rude. They would have lost so much business and the food would have probably gone to waste too

Having buried our cat and not feeling like cooking we decided to order Dominos, however for sum reason Dominos have stopped doing gluten free bases during Covid, apparently you can't be a coeliac during a pandemic???? Anyway, I'm gluten and lactose intolerant and my daughter pointed out that pizza hut have gluten free on the menu. Well done to them though for having the gluten free base as an option on all pizza's. Anyway, I ordered a meat feast, had to opt for no cheese as they don't have vegan cheese on the menu (tut tut) and when it turned up..... a 4" x 6" piece of flat bread with a few ingredients scattered in the middle, not even anywhere near the edges. and charged £18 for the pleasure. Are you serious? What an absolute scam, no way am I ever ordering pizza from here again, in this day and age you would think you would be able to cater for specific diets and offer a value for money meal. Absolutely appalling.

Food - well I suspect card board tastes better and has a closer genetic makeup to something resembling food than what seems to be passed off for human consumption. Staff - most were nice, some were about as pleasant as eating their food. The person in charge should have been called Karen, as she was most definitely a Karen. Toilets - toilets? Or perhaps drug squat? I’m not sure which. Atmosphere - one word ‘chavs’. The language was loud and unpleasant. A lobotomy is recommended before entering. Summary - I should have known better. Mistake, regret, never again!

Disgusting the staff didn't seem to care, the service was awful and the pizza tasted like it was a small supermarket job we didn't receive our garlic bread bites and nachos until we had nearly finished the meal I like pizza hut but will never set foot in the place again

We went here for lunch today to use the eat out to help out offer. We we had the Bluffet which is the normal lunchtime buffet but they would bring the food to your table. I liked how they are taking orders for our next pizza when they being the current one. It speeds things up. The food itself was very nice. The only downside is that they are bot offering unlimited soft drinks or salad due to the current situation. All in all, it was a nice meal.

Absolutely unacceptable 2 hours 30 mins between ordering and final course arriving. Ordered and paid using website ordering system. Sadly we were told that puddings that we had paid for were no longer available and so were offered alternative. Alternative not as expensive as what we had paid for but no refund offered. Terrible and consider twice before visiting as the carpark is only 3 hours so you may end up with a fine based on the service time!

It's ok, staff are nice, kids love they can get their own drinks and ice cream. Pizzas are massive. Staff are quite slow though.

I brought my family here for the buffet lunch during the half term. We have had a bad meal here before but decided to try again as the kids love the ice-cream. A mistake. I realise that the buffet isn't going to be luxurious fare but the only pizza on offer was cheese and tomato or one that appeared to have a couple of onions on. The pasta was inedible, lukewarm mush. The children ate only salad which was running low and very messy. The staff were over-stretched and it took for ever to get anyone's attention. Even by Pizza Hut's standards, this was a total waste of money. We don't get takeaway from them any more as they have too often delivered piles of greasy, soggy mess and it seems the attitude towards the customer of the eat-in place is the same...give them any old slop, the mugs will still eat it. This is one family that won't ever again. Avoid like the plague.

have been to this Pizza Hut a couple of times and wouldn't say I hate it, wouldn't say I love it. this salad is disappointing and dry but the pizza isn't too bad. They allow you take it left over pizza home though which is good.Is a clean establishment and the staff are friendly, although they sometimes take a while to take your order. overall an ok place to go out for tea one night
