Pizza Express Stratford - Theatre Square in Newham

Mohammed served us and was fabulous from beginning to end, very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He recommended dishes, brought exactly what we ordered without writing it down, and remembered who ordered what so when it came to the bill, he itemised each of our group separately so we could each pay our own, and was absolutely correct. An amazing asset to the place.

Stopped in to eat next door to the cinema me and my partner were at, we were in a bit of a hurry but thank you to Mohammed for giving a efficient and speedy service, was just what we needed! Food was great and the wine even better!

This was a midweek quick visit, nothing could really be faulted. The Pizza was well cooked and tasty and the service friendly.

Simion and the team were very nice and professional. The food was amazing! I really enjoyed my pizza, it was perfectly cocked. The restaurant is very nice, clean and the ambient is very zen. Amazing vibes !!! Highly recommend it 🫶🏻 P.S. the raspberry sorbet was amazing ♥️

We were served by a brilliant Polish waiter called Kalim- I think 🤞. We lost the receipt so we can’t leave our review in the correct place. Kalim made the night go with a swing. He was attentive, fun and informative. The food was delicious and we had a lovely time with our granddaughter. Thank you so much.

Came here on a Thursday afternoon with family we always come here after a shopping trip! Louis was absolutely AMAZING 5*! Made us feel so welcome and catered for our every need and food was tasty too. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you Louis.

Visited just after lockdown was lifted in November. We went around 3pm and it was quiet apart from 2 other tables. It is a great location for the theatre royal and cinema and also a shirt walk away from Westfield but not as packed. We had a lovely waitress who was really friendly, helpful and wore a mask. All the food was delicious and was fresh. Credit to the chef. Really recommend the dough balls. We also had a Prosecco deal that was honoured and they were very helpful. Staff are lovely in this location. I would say if you prefer a close location, quick seating and fresh food at a good price without the business and long waiting times if Westfield then this is the place. It is also very close to the indoor shopping mall which has a good range of shops including Lidl, Sainsbury’s, Superdrug ,Chinese grocers as well as a market.

The waiter we had has the most amazing memory, he didn’t write the order down and everything arrived as ordered and 2 separate visits, her was friendly and polite.. All the food was hot, tasty and well presented given that it was a Pizza. The Pizza definitely better than Lasagne. The flat bread and humus starter was lovely.

Have been going here on and off for years – great place to eat before of after visiting Theatre Royal. Good old Pizza Express. Always good value – and changing menus; old stalwarts still there but new ones added and this time obvious vegan additions. Notable that some staff have been here for years. Must be a good sign! The superfood salad was just what we needed plus the excellent Leggera Raspberry and Coconut Sorbets to follow - recommend a scoop of each! .

Had dinner here before watching a show at the Theatre Royal Stratford East; it is directly across from the theatre so is in a good location. The restaurant is badly designed as we had to ask to be moved tables due to the sun shining through the glass windows/wall. Even at our new table we could still get the sun glaring in our eyes depending on where you were positioned. I had the pollo ad astra pizza which was a good size but tasted rather bland. Our waiter was friendly but service towards the end could have been quicker as we were in a hurry to get to the show before it started. We had to wait 10 minutes for the bill despite repeatedly asking for it. It was a mad stressful dash at the end to pay and get out. The table next to us ordered food but over half an hour later it still hadn’t arrived so they had to leave without eating as they also were seeing the show. As i had an NUS, we got 30% off the bill so the meal was really cheap.

I had to do a review to single out our waiter Mohammad. He was a lovely chap that made load of effort with my girlfriend’s son and was amazingly attentive to us all. A very good waiter and did a credit to the restaurant. Hardly a stunning location but we enjoyed the food we had it was the service that shone for us thou! Well done Mohammad and thank you.

I’ve visited the pizza express in Stratford Westfield with a friend this past Friday and was very disappointed by the service. As my favourite pizza restaurant I was rather disappointed with the service at this particular branch. Although the waitresses were friendly, the diavolo romana base pizza I asked was cold, and we had to ask for plates a few times. Also I had asked for a “sipsmith & aromatic” drink, which is made of gin and pink fever tree was served to me without the gin and on a glass full of ice and the pink fever tree, which I then had to request the Gin for the drink. We had requested garlic and chilli oil and Parmesan cheese, the waiter forgot to bring the chilli oil, by that time we had had enough and didn’t bother to reiterate the request. As I often visit the pizza express in whetstone, I’m disappointed to say that the staff at the branch in Stratford weren’t as attentive with their service. Please note, the restaurant was not packed, therefore there is no excuse for the service being lack lustre.

First time in a Pizza Express. Nice restaurant. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. No bloody meat in their lasagne though! Honestly, the pizzas for whatever reason did not look that appealing to me. Marguerita without basil 🌿 how is that inviting? Some interesting combinations but to be honest my local pub in Birmingham puts together a more enticing pizza menu. Asked for a recommendation off the waiter. Nice chap. Settled on lasagne because he said it was meaty. Blimey! Meaty it was not! Distinctly meat light! Vegans would have been delighted. To be fair looked ok. Smelled ok. Probably even tasted ok. But hey. Come on Pizza Express put some bloody meat in your lasagne. Shocking rip off restaurant really. The food isn’t even made on site ffs! They get the lasagne made in a kitchen in Bermondsey or somewhere and shipped in and then reheated. Not for me I’m afraid. Never again.

I always enjoy Pizza Express for a good, tasty veggie pizza. This branch seems understaffed, but the people there work non-stop to deliver excellent service. Particular mention to Mohammed, who is cheerful, chatty and a thoroughly nice guy. Very enjoyable meal.

Possibly the tastiest pizza that I have eaten. The only criticism I can find is that the drinks seem a bit expensive. Nice to ave a big window to watch the world go by.
