Pizza Express - First Street in Manchester

Our go to pizza express, great service and always enjoy our meal.

Our waiter was super sweet and very attentive even though the place was rammed and he was so busy!

Magda’s service was excellent as always. She was very attentive and polite. The food was fantastic the kitchen team are an absolute credit. Another fantastic visit too first street pizza express.

What a lovely place to go and eat, I’ve been here a good few times and each time I am blown away with how good the food is and service. I think the managers name is Anthony if I’m right, and honestly that man is so lovely and such a great boss, the way he speaks to the staff is so lovely and you can tell the place has a lovely work feel environment to it. I never write reviews but I just had to go out of my way because the service was so lovely today!

Came in with my wife, the service was very friendly and food was excellent. We will be back.

The service was ok; however, the food wasn't as good as I remember it. I'm not too sure if the kitchen staff has changed, but the pizza wasn't the best quality this time around, nor our salads.

No demasiado ocupado, servicio rápido, gran pizza - ¿qué más se puede pedir? Nuestro servidor Magda era fantástico. Tuve el American Hottest, sin duda recomendaría.

Visitado recientemente para un almuerzo en equipo (14 ppl). Magda era nuestro servidor y se ocupó de cada solicitud con rapidez y una sonrisa. Muy buen fin de año. Gracias por cuidarnos tan bien.

The food was ok at best I had the la rein it was soggy from the cheese not being cooked all the way through I think for the price it wasn’t worth it the customer service was ok but not the greatest

DO NOT buy takeaway. I don't know if the whole kitchen staff have quit or what, but in recent months this place has gone down hill. The pizza is tasteless, badly cooked and literally gave me indigestion. Perhaps sit-in customers the restaurant get the well cooked stuff, but takeaway customers get garbage.

Always such a lovely atmosphere at First Street Pizza Express. We were served by Magda this time who was lovely and very helpful. She recommended the Christmas Feast pizza which I’ve not tried before and it was fab! Magda and the rest of the team went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs even though the restaurant was quite busy. Definitely coming back again

Been here multiple occasions now, and had nothing but the perfect experience every time. Always welcomed, always take time to ask me how my food is and if any drinks need re filling. Came for my 21st birthday and had the most perfect night with balloons and cake. From the kitchen staff to front of house nothing but professional and up to standard. BRILLIANT with my son , got crayons and activities to meet any age and a good kids menu

I WAS GREETED BY RATTRAPS!!! I was very excited to dine here but my dreams were quickly crushed. As soon as I entered this ‘restaurant’ I was greeted with rat traps. I understood why there were rat traps as the floor was covered in food and general rubbish. Nightmare! My server Magda was very rude and she didn’t even offer me a second drink with my main. What happened to customer service? The food also was disappointing. When i bit into my pizza I expected a nice hot mouthful but instead it felt like i bit into an ice cube. Half of the pizza was also burnt. Not worth the price at all! I do not recommend in the slightest.

I’ve been here a few times, always consistently very good. They make the perfect Padana and food is always piping hot and fresh. Magda always delivers good service; passionate and very engaging. If only all service everywhere was like this. I’ll be back

Had the best experience at Pizza Express first street in Manchester recently. I have been to a quite a few different Pizza Express locations but the service me and my friends received at First Street was fab! Our waitress Libby was so lovely and welcoming and was happy to cater to any of our needs. The service was really quick and the atmosphere was really enjoyable which made for an all round really positive experience.

Our lovely waitress Libby took great care of us and was very patient helping us take full advantage of our rewards etc on the app. The pizzas really are excellent here with not too thick crusts and plenty of toppings. Excellent all round.

I had the pleasure of dining at Pizza Express recently, and I just have to say how outstanding our waitress, Magda, was! From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, making us feel right at home. Throughout the meal, she was attentive without being overbearing, and her recommendations for the menu were spot-on. She even took the time to check in with us to make sure everything was to our liking, which we truly appreciated. A true asset to the team!

I recently had a fantastic experience at Pizza Express on First Street, it was my first time eating here and would highly recommend The atmosphere was lively and inviting, perfect for quick, casual dining.Our waitress, Libby, was exceptional—she was friendly, attentive, and made sure our orders were perfect. I’m unsure of the chefs name who made our order but the pizza was delicious, with a great crust and fresh toppings. I highly recommend this location and will be sure to return in the future!

Pizza’s were very soggy and tasteless, very little or no tomato base!!!! Very little amount of prawns one one and very little turkey and cranberry on the other.

I love Pizza Express but my order was pushed back by an hour so the food arrived cold.

Coming from the States, this is hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while. Super thin, crispy crust with spicy toppings. Amazing!

I’ve been to First Street Pizza Express before several times and always had a warm welcome, and attentive, friendly service without its being too intrusive. Service from Magda this time was up to usual high standard, which always makes for a relaxing experience, especially when dining alone. My pizza was perfectly done and thoroughly enjoyable. My sticky toffee pudding was scrumptious too. Prices are on the high side, but rewards programme through Pizza Express Club makes it manageable. I’ll be back.

Pizza Express has really good gluten free dishes and I always look forward to dining there. I’ve been served by Magda many times and she is amazing hosts/waitress. She works so hard and always has a smile on her face!

First Street is my favourite of all the Pizza Express restaurants that I've been to and I visit it regularly. Good atmosphere and excellent ambience created by the staff, who are all friendly, pleasant and helpful. On this visit, the food was done as consistently wel donel as it always is at First Steet, but the star of our evening was our waitresss, Magda, who is friendly, funny, helpful with advice about menu items and very patient. Magda made the occassion special and we will definitely return to First Street at the earliest opportunity.

My partner has ceoliac disease and ordered gluten free dough balls last night and when they came she opened the box not thinking much of it because we ordered gluten free and even the sauces had gluten free stickers on them , she had the first one and realised that gluten free dough balls are bigger and then realised she was eating normal dough balls , and have been in so much pain since with a bloated stomach and had to have work off because of being so sick and are getting no help of the manager

Pizzas with particular flavors, not easy to find so good in other places. The Venetian pizza with capers, pine nuts and raisins, which initially left me perplexed, left me so satisfied that I took it again the second time. The gluten free version was also very successful. The staff were all very friendly, attentive to customers, ready to joke.

By the time my pizza was delivered, it was stone cold.

Visita posterior a la película. No demasiados comensales cuando llegamos, lo que hizo extraño que tuvimos una espera tan larga para 2 pizzas. Clásico - 1 x pepperoni picante americano 1 x Florentina La camarera se disculpó por el retraso. Las pizzas llegaron una vez bien, la Florentina por desgracia estaba demasiado cocinado. Oscuro, seco, el huevo estaba literalmente seco y crujiente. Estaba tan decepcionado. La camarera vino eventualmente para preguntarle al habitual “todo bien? , necesita alguna bebida” También al crédito, dijo el Gerente iba a reducir la factura durante la espera. Le expliqué el tema con la pizza - de nuevo para acreditar, me ofrecí a conseguir otra - sin embargo no quería esperar y además, simplemente no me gusta desperdiciar comida. Le expliqué esto, le dije que estaba feliz de que la factura se redujera de todos modos.

Very poor experience in this pizza restaurant, after waiting 30 mins when it was very quiet, we assumed our food would be fresh and worth the wait, very disappointed when we brought it back to our hotel beside it, crispy potatoes were soggy and clumped together so some were still Ice cold, pizza base was thiner than a wrap not cut properly and all the toppings just slide off as it was so thin it was breaking. Chicken portion was 3 pieces and mozzarella sticks was small aswel, would not recommend anyone waste there money here as it was expensive, and by far the worst pizza I have ever had. Should of known by how quiet it was.

The restaurant was absolutely brilliant and helpful, but the driver that was assigned to the order did not bring it and I’ve had to wait over 2 hours. Called the restaurant and they were able to contact support as there is no number for customers to contact them and they were just able to change the driver. Will surely order from this restaurant again, just not through this app.

Un maravilloso almuerzo tranquilo con amigos. Cada uno tenía dos cursos y estábamos satisfechos con todos ellos. Para empezar, teníamos las gambas y la bruschetta originale. Ambos eran excelentes - y tener las bolas de masa para mojar en la salsa de las gambas era excelente. La bruschetta se veía extremadamente saludable con tomates y muchas cosas verdes. También era muy sabroso! Como plato principal, tuvimos la ensalada Caesar de pollo y una pizza de pollo ad Astra romana. El único cambio que haríamos la próxima vez sería tener la ensalada sin las anchoas. Normalmente tengo tres Pollo ad Astra sobre una base clásica, pero deliberadamente lo probé en la romana, como se enumera en el menú. Decidí que todavía lo prefiero definitivamente sobre una base clásica, así que me aseguraré de volver a esa solicitud en el futuro. Nos atendió un tipo tranquilo pero muy amable con barba y gafas. Él era un anfitrión excelente durante toda nuestra visita y le gustaría agradecer su atención. Hubiera sido preferible que nos hubiera preguntado si queríamos algo de pimienta negra cuando se sirven nuestros entrantes, pero el restaurante no estaba ocupado y por lo que fue fácil recuperar su atención para hacer esta solicitud nosotros mismos. En cuanto al restaurante en sí, la única característica que no nos gustó fue la entrada. Asumo que hay un techo retráctil, ya que se siente un poco como una inclinación - y no fue una gran primera impresión al entrar en el restaurante. Sin embargo, sin duda volveremos.

Poor service, waiter came after 30 minutes of waiting. Food then arrived promptly, but no waiter came to collect plates or give the bill. I could see they were very understaffed but if this is on a Friday evening, you would expect a few more people working there.

Upon entering the restaurant, the level of lack of cleanliness was very clear. Within the conservatory, there were at least 4 tables that needed clearing and maybe half a dozen tables again inside. The server (Fabio) was attentive and informative of offers and swaps of ingredients but the table next to ours was only cleared when we were almost finished - at least an hour later and wasn't cleaned at all which was discomforting in a place you are eating.

Me and my Dad went there today before seeing Longlegs at Home Cinema. Food's excellent, staff are friendly and helpful will defiantly be going back there.

Our servers were really attentive and made sure to give me all the information I needed about dietary restrictions. We had two pizzas and really enjoyed are. The vegan cheese for the pizzas was absolutely delicious. Probably the best cheese I have had anywhere on a pizza. The reason for 4 stars is that because it's a chain restaurant it's not a great atmosphere or building. It's just fine.

They had no ketchup or tabascoo ;(

Our sever was lovely. Some kind and helpful. Good was hot and tasty. Vegan options were good.

Had an amazing experience right from stepping through the door we received a warm and friendly welcome. The female team member that greeted us was very helpful in helping set up the App on my mobile. Great service really felt really special (was our wedding anniversary). Nothing was to much trouble.

Desafortunadamente el servicio fue tan lento aquí que no tuvimos tiempo para hacer la tarta de cumpleaños que habíamos traído ya que teníamos un concierto para ir. También es difícil mantener felices a los niños pequeños teniendo que esperar tanto tiempo para que llegue la comida.

Complete rip-off. I am student and went there with a Uni-days coupon as shown in the images. I was refused to get the offer by the general manager himself. He said we don’t have that offer, even though the offer is still on the website right now but as shown in the photos the offer is mentioned on the unidays website with the terms saying that pizza express management has agreed for this discount.When we said okay we are leaving, they said your order has already been placed and they made us pay the full amount without even asking us if we are okay with that. This was totally rude and unacceptable. I am expecting compensation or refund or a complimentary meal to cover what I have spend.

The food is good, but the service was too long. It took them more than 1h to cook 7 pizzas whereas there were very few people in the restaurant. We even had time to hear the playlist played twice. Moreover, the important presence of kids didn't help the communication on the table.

Really nice restaurant, can always rely on a nice pizza too! The chef today (11/02/2024) cooked the perfect egg for my pizza. The waitress was really nice too, as was the manager.

"Food Delivery Drivers" don't go there, they are issuing £60 fines for parking cars on Isabela Road, even if it is within 20min.

The pollo milanese didn’t come

I love it here, food is good and the app/rewards are very good. BUT, a few times we have been and there has been a long wait, even though the restaurant doesn't seem very busy. That's disappointing to us cos we love their pizzas and customer service is otherwise great.

We had a table of 8 and the food was served quickly and was excellent. Staff were organised and efficient, and ensured we had a great time.

I only generally leave reviews where the experience has been at one of the extreme ends of the spectrum. In this case everything was above expectations - The team, the restaurant itself, and the food. Our server, whose name I did note but has since been compromised by the indulgences of the festive zeitgeist, was absolutely exceptional. *edit* - It was Magda :)

Good taste and portion size, but it would be advisable for the pizza to have a little more flavor. I though the small size pizza would be smaller, so I ordered some chili prawns, but it would be enough with only the pizza. The prawns were a little bit spicy for a mexican, but enjoyable.

I had a quick dinner with my wife .. it was the first time i go to pizza express and try their pizza , it was ok eccept the homade lemonad i had it was with no flavour just water i was expecting better than that ... and the other thing when i wanted to pay i didnt have that enough money in my card to pay tips and the waitress who took the payment was rude when i press no tips on the card reader and se was looking really bad to me with even no saying thank you this is what makes me very bad i didnt had a time to complaine about what she did but i promised to no back there at all and it was my first and last time i go to pizza express

Taste good but notuch sustenance, thinnest pizza I've ever seen. Dough balls bland, wings ok. Not great for the price will not be ordering again.

Friendly helpful staff, DELicious food and lovely cozy feel to place. First greeted by a polite young lady who offered to prepare food for when my daughter was due out of the theatre. I normally take a pic of selection by was quickly devoured, it was so scrumptious there was little left to photograpj. Noted the messsge at the bottom of the cola glass 'Dr Pemberton, inspiring since 1886' (when drink invented). Well Pizza Express you inspired our tummies, we'll come again. Thank you!!

We chose to try here for the first time cos of freebie Friday. Just received order and didn’t get the free item so pointless having offers if not going to honour them. I would have ordered them if I had of known the offer was not going to be honoured
