Great fresh pizzas, has always been my favourite chain and service from Dominic was helpful and friendly

We've come here a few times, myself and my partner, Christopher has been most attentive in ensuring a positive experience. Pizza Express are lucky to have him! Recommend the Fungi di Bosco 👌

We ate there today (1st April) Food was great as always, we were seated but werent given any menus, so when the server came to take our drinks order I had to say we didnt know as we werent given any menu's bless him though we were told he was new so we werent annoyed. (Lovely young man, Black hair, longish sweep fringe, adorable smile) As it got busier the service got a little slower as expected, an older man took our starters & mains order, later we asked for a dessert menu's, then were left for about 20 minutes before my husband had to call our 1st server over (the lovely young man) as the server who took our main order was nowhere in sight, then a lovely lady with a head scarf gave us our desserts, she had a lovely smile and was very polite. Would have been 5 stars for all if it werent for all the waiting and lack of menu's. Note to the new guy: I used to work at a pizza express years ago, you will get there don't worry, you're doing great! :)

Newly decorated, good new look. Food is still the same good quality with a few new additions. Friendly staff and a good place to eat with the family.

We waited an hour for our food, they were rude and didn’t attend to us at all.

Food was delicious and the service was speedy. Very good value for money.

Definitely a lovely place to visit. Charming, neat and cozy. Staff attentive and friendly. There is no chaos around and tables are spaced properly to avoid feeling like you are sitting on a top of another group of people eating & chatting. Make sure to get the app and look for a free appetizer (starter). My friends and I have been here 2 times now and loved it. Will come out to eat probably in May again since it is a middle point for our drive from our houses!

THANK YOU Chris & Team: Have been coming to this Pizza Express since I was a child (remember my parents holding a birthday party here for me) now I have a baby and look forward to the next generation coming here. What makes my visit special is my wife and I look forward to the welcoming staff especially Christopher who honestly makes our meal feel more than just a dinner out. Great attitude, work ethos, astoundingly remembers our preferences from our previous visit a very special waiter with this level of attention - “calabrese no calabrese sausage, instead pepperoni” 😉 he knows

I couldn’t be happier with todays service. I took my son and some of his friends to pizza express for a birthday meal today and the service was fantastic!!! Our table was looked after by 2 ladies but I stupidly didn’t take their names however they were super pleasant & patient from start to end. They really went over and above to make us feel comfortable. The food came out fast, hot and tasty in fact I had forgotten how good PE’s pizzas are. Great service !!!!!!

I visited Pizza Express with my best friend to spend some quality time together and really had the best time. The food was very delicious, we asked the waiter for his suggestion and it did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, friendly people and smiles everywhere. Would definitely visit again.

Karola was a lovely waitress and very attentive. We went in om a busy Saturday evening and the chefs were working so hard. Food came out in a timely fashion, tasted good and was piping hot. Good veggie choices.

The service and quality of the food was very good. The problem with the restaurant is that it has not been able to serve ant coffee or tea for the last weeks as its coffee machine has been broken and the company have been extremely slow in dealing with this issue. The staff are very apologetic and embarrassed about this issue and have been let down by poor management by the company.

We had our daughter's 10th birthday party here on Sunday 24th September. We had such an amazing experience and we were looked after superbly by David and his staff! They were outstanding, bravo :)

Great food and extremely friendly servers. They even gave us free ice cream as a thank you for a previous review. They are great people and the best service.

Food was very nice and came quickly, staff there are nice and it's a nice quite Pizza Express. I definitely recommend it.

Had a lovely dinner with my two young children tonight. Staff were so accommodating and helped me with my girls. Felt comfortable, food was served fast and David look after us well. Thank you.

Looks much better since being redecorated, but it is still super loud. Also, I learnt that there's a new management team, who are treating their staff really badly. None of the team were paid during the two weeks it was closed for refurbishment (which cost £120k but none of that was allocated to pay their wages). The restaurant was full on our visit, but there were only 3 staff, who were doing their very best to serve all the tables and the takeaway section, but they were completely overwhelmed. People weren't getting served, and the queue was out the door. The new policy is to put on minimum staff at all times. The manager was out the back having a fag, apparently, and wouldn't step in to help even when asked. Some of the staff have been there for years, and it's horrible to see them being treated with such disrespect. And I won't go again, now I know it's such a cruel place.

The restaurant needs to be updated a bit. The service and staff are good, always like the pizzas.

The interior has just been redone, very nice atmosphere. Very busy tonight but staff where accommodating and efficient with clearing tables. They have a good vegan menu with large range of starters and mains and the food was very tasty they could do with more vegan dessert options. The pizza express app is very handy, I would recommend plus the rewards are an added perk

What could have been a lovely dinner after work with my colleagues was ruined by what I would call a pathetic manager. Our waitress was lovely but probably new to the job. She made a slight error when putting our order in the till so even though we told her about coupons we had to claim, we weren’t able to claim them. She apologised for error immediately but the manager came up with every excuse under the sun as to why he couldn’t honour the coupons. All of his pretty lousy excuses just wasted all our time as he was able to honour it after all, just a shame it took 20 minutes for him to do so and unfortunate threats to get police involved. I certainly won’t be back even if the food and service was genuinely good. No apology from him either for what was their mistake

My experience in this restaurant has been remarkable. I celebrated my birthday in this restaurant and from the service to the food our experience was one of a kind, all this thanks to the amazing and enthusiastic staff like Anna who made sure that all of our needs were met and an exceptional standard.

A great place, always first class service by Karola, a lovely efficient helpful young lady, delicious food, after refurbishment the atmosphere even better, worth going, won’t get disappointed.

Pretty good food they had quite a few gluten free and vegetarian options the service was good but rushed but it was really busy so it was sonewhat understandable

Shared a pizza with my sister and we both thought it was very poor. The burnt ends had less meat than a matchstick! The whole thing was disappointing and outrageously expensive. I won’t be visiting again.

I wasn’t feeling the best today so I decided to go out for lunch. I had a lovely chat with a waiter called carola who gave me great service and as it was not busy at the time I spoke to the chef called Sajad who made my pollo pesto as it was really good very friendly made my day. The restaurant is a little too hot for my liking but has great decoration

Absolutely fantastic evening. We really enjoyed our meal, very fresh and delicious. The service was exceptional. Our waiter, Dominik, was attentive, polite and on hand when we needed help. He was right there without being obtrusive. When it isn't cheap to go out, I would definitely say we had a really wonderful evening and all aspects were perfect.

We tried the vagan menu and unfortunately we didn't liked the food even a little bit. I don't recommend neither the Classic Margherita nor the Classic Vegan Fungi. I hope their non-vegan menu to be better :-(

Was rather disappointed with food, service and atmosphere. The decor was very unappealing, needing a serious deep clean and paint job. The service received was not warm or friendly; there was no check-in to make sure our food was okay. Sadly, can't recommend.

Setting off from Central London to the outer wilderness of High Barnet was a shock to the system as the temperature seemed to drop by ten degrees, however, not even the cold could deter me from reaching my next destination on the quest to visit every Pizza Express in London...as I ventured far north. Welcome to the Barnet branch! This was a wonderful evening with close friends and one of my most enjoyable trips so far.... Quality of food: 18/20 The dough balls were deliciously warm and the garlic butter helped them to melt in the mouth. My Pollo Pesto with no mushrooms was delectable; it was lovely to have some variety in the texture of the pasta. Finally, the generous helping of chocolate brownie Dolcetti added the perfect finish with a heart-warming cup of tea! Atmosphere: 16/20 The high ceilings (although rather plain) gave the restaurant a fine acoustic and I found the interesting art work absorbing, including that of the great Elvis Presley. The wine bottle display shelf was impressive. This restaurant will shortly be undergoing refurbishment work but will only be closed for a brief period. Staff friendliness and efficiency: 19/20 I was impressed with how welcoming the staff were from the outset, including allowing me to lay out seven Cadbury Cream Eggs for my friends before they arrived. I was asked whether I would like a drink whilst waiting for the other guests and our waitress made us feel very welcome for the entire duration. Cleanliness: 17/20 The restaurant was clean and it was welcoming to find our table set up and ready to go with laid out menus before the booking time. The refurbishment will no-doubt help the development of the facilities and restaurant ambience. Overall enjoyment: 18/20 What can be better than an evening out with great friends and lots of laughter? Thank you Pizza Express, Barnet, for being host to a memorable evening. Very poor service and the quality of the food bad, chicken wings probably reheated

I have lived in Barnet for over 15 years, and I had never visited the High Barnet branch of Pizza express, nor will I ever visit again. When myself and two friends decided to go out for a chilled evening, we were instead met with the task of expending needless energy, trying to work out why so much disdain was radiating from the only female member of staff waiting tables this evening. She behaved like a sulky teenager, giving short, lackluster responses, rolling her eyes and walking away when we were not ready to order. Like the traumatized younger siblings of said sulky teenager, we were besieged by a barrage of dirty looks, and perplexed by the sheer effort to single us out and make us feel extremely uncomfortable. Was this some kind of April foolery? Did she have a bad day? Had she not interacted with a black person before? The questions were endless. Firstly, let me commend the majority of staff who waited at our table thereafter. They were polite, professional and made us feel welcomed. Honestly, if this person had not have been serving, I would have given this review a four. On a serious note, the waitress attempted to serve a gluten free meal in the same hand and on top of a dish containing gluten. She was unapologetic and then didn't come back to the table following our concerns. Being a restaurant that purports to promote the safety of those that have severe reactions to gluten, you would think this would not have been an issue. Because of her foul attitude, I personally opted out of desert since I'd lost my appetite and will to live. The sooner I got out of there the better as I'd rather finish my food in the safety and comfort of my own home. Awful experience. At best, discouraged and disappointed.

This was honestly the most immensive costumer experience that me and my friends have ever received. The costumer service really deserves a pay rise and stands out from other pizzerias. This is thanks to Anna who had an anthusiastic persona that always made sure our needs were met to a high standard.

Tonight my family of 5 had an amazing meal and drinks. We had Starters, Mains and Desserts, all of which were delicious and beautifully presented. From the moment we arrived at 7 30pm we were greeted by Anna and David who continued to be attentive to us throughout the next hour and a half. We spent extra time there having Mint Tea, so delicious with real mint leaves. We will certainly be returning to Barnet Pizza Express within the next few weeks. From Sheila Sheridan

Barnet Pizza Express is the best pizza express around North London. The staff are amazing, especially Anna-really helpful! Great service.

Marked down atmosphere as only 3 tables had diners. All else was lovely

My wife received a voucher for half price classic pizzas so we thought we would have dinner at our local Pizza Express, which we have been to many times. Upon arrival we checked with the server that we could use the voucher and were reassured that it was fine. The pizzas were good and up to the usual standard but the fun started when we attempted to pay the bill. We presented the voucher, which had been received the day before, to be told it had expired! The manager then came over who was very assertive and lacked customer service skills trying to blame us for their incompetence. She was suggesting all sorts of options including contacting head office so in the end we dropped £30 on the table and disappeared into the night. Incidentally, in my opinion, the menu represents poor value for money unless an offer is available.

Son chose to go here for his during the week birthday dinner. The restaurant was quite full, but a nice atmosphere. Service was ok, slightly chaotic due to orders going out and lots of delivery guys in helmets waiting around. The service team were polite but not organised. They could do with one person directing everyone else. Food was hot and looked good and tasted nice. It was an ok night out.

Visited Pizza express High Barnet as a large family for my daughters 8th birthday. Local family and have been dining at Pizza Express for years since it originally opened. A very disappointing visit for a special occasion, it’s just a good job we are all able to keep spirits high for the special birthday girl. Our waitress was wonderful and cannot fault her but management was very disappointing. In particular it was hard to be a witness to seeing the manager berate her staff in full view of diners. A few of our main dishes were served luke warm but one pizza was stone cold on delivery. When sent back, the same pizza was reserved with burnt edges. This dish was sent back to the kitchen again with the request for a new pizza understandably. After the rest of the family had finished their meals, the pizza was still not ready so my sister approached the kitchen and the restaurant manager to see where her dinner was. With another heartfelt apology from the awaiting waitress, there was nothing from the manager. My sister in law asked how long a pizza takes to cook and the response was 4 minutes. This had now been at least 20 minutes and was told she would have to wait a further 4 mins. My sister in law asked the manager if she could make sure this meal was not added to the bill for the inconvenience caused and she rolled her eyes at her and said ok. We watched again as the manager told the server off. My sister managed to try to quietly talk with the manager at our table who would not let her speak and seemed happy enough with herself that she’d taken the money off the bill and kept interrupting my sister when she tried to talk. There was no talking to this lady. She just started taking some of our plates away. Another no no when not everyone has finished or even been served yet. This was an experience that has put us off our regular ‘go to’ for family occasions and was very uncomfortable to watch bad and awful management of staff and was pleased to pay the bill and leave. Luckily as a family we were able to keep spirits high for our daughters birthday. What a shame pizza express!!! Great food and servers as always, management in need of people/customer and staff management skills unfortunately. Just hoping you manage to keep the lovely staff you have and not reduce them to tears with poor management.

I went today with two toddlers under 3. Anna was my waitress and she was amazing. She was kind to my children, made the effort to recommend menu items and also stayed calm even though it was busy. Anna was so lovely and the food was excellent, especially for children. The pizzas and pasta was lovely and the desserts are lovely. I'd recommend the Barnet pizza expreS any day, and Anna is wonderful if you're lucky enough to get her!
