Only went to take small children. Not happy no mayo available. Toilets dirty. Wash basins rusty. Trainee staff not trained

Went with a group of about 20 people. All very friendly staff, looked after us well.

We opted for here for a celebratory meal with friends. All food well cooked and Roger from the kitchen is great. The waitress was also friendly but I cannot remember her name. Only four stars due to the toilets. Only one working and that struggled to flush. One of the toilets would not flush and it was back up with poo and toilet paper. It was not sorted during our 2 hour visit. Can't fault the food and service just need to sort the toilets out!

Ordered from a hotel I was staying in, I wanted to eat in my room due to recent shoulder surgery and the hotel did not provide room service. The delivery time from order kept getting later and later.. But having to have a 10 minute argument with the delivery driver who insisted he was in the car park and I was stood in it, 3times I said you are not because I’m stood in the middle of the car park and you are not here. Food was cold, lasagne burnt and got knows where meat was

my order did not arrive- the delivery time kept being pushed back for 5 hours until it just went over the time . Then, i got a notification saying it had been delivered 2 hours later when it had not. Very unhappy with this service

Era sábado, 5 pm y ocupado (no lleno) pero el personal parecía por todo el lugar. Esperamos 15 minutos para obtener nuestra orden tomada. Los entrantes llegaron unos 10 minutos después y estaban bien, pero tuvimos que pedir sal y pimienta como ninguno en la mesa. Vino el plato principal y no habían limpiado nuestras placas de inicio. Ambos comimos el mismo plato de pasta y no fue agradable. Era realmente masticable y algunos pedazos no comestibles. Lástima porque habíamos estado allí anteriormente y disfrutamos de lo mismo. La mesa estaba cubierta de algo pegajoso. Tbh me ha dejado ir allí de nuevo. Hay otras opciones cercanas, precios similares con mejor comida y mejor organizado.

Came for early dinner. Food was lovely and good portion size. Waitress was really smiley and helpful with doing discounts and offers. Ordered shared dough balls, America & sloppy giuseppe Lovely vibe and was quiet and calm (it was a Thursday) Recommend!

The delivery driver was punctual and very helpful - five stars for delivery.

Always a friendly service and the food is good

Much improved service and atmosphere. Warm and friendly welcome by female maitre de, then served by two other female staff who were polite, helpful and put us at ease. Music was relaxed and just right volume. Pizza, wine and dessert excellent quality and good value.

Food was stone cold,pizza was tough and they give you an extremely small portion of chips

a very good meal, nice and hot, delivery time slipped to the right quite a bit, up to 30 mins at one point, but they clawed it back - but again this was ok, given it was prime time sat

An absolute steal picking up the surprise bag for dinner and getting a lasagna. Not necessarily the best quality wise, but a solid dish nonetheless and excellent value.

Visited for first time with grandson 29 Aug. Had a lovely meal. Food nice and hot. Staff deserve special mention. Two front of house and one chef working so hard to keep busy lunchtime customers happy. Well done.

Usually good but pretty disappointing to have terrible service on my birthday today, so just left in the end and took my business elsewhere. 20 minutes being ignored by various staff in such a small restaurant is bizarre to me.

Visited here for a pre-theatre meal. Service from Brogan and Izzy was exceptional, just the right pace and very friendly. The flavours on the pizza were fantastic and the Chardonnay was very good. A lovely experience. We will be back.

Disgusting food. Couldn’t even eat it! Stale and cold.

I visited on a Monday evening as I was working in the city. The restaurant was fairly quiet and initially I had to wait for several minutes to be greeted as there were no waiting staff in the restaurant. After that however the service picked up and they were very attentive and helpful. The food was the usual high standards you expect and served well. The restaurant was clean, airy and comfortable. I would recommend and visit again if in the area.

Llegamos y pusimos en una mesa en el restaurante de atrás al lado de la cocina. Camarera tomó nuestro pedido: una cerveza, dos copas de vino, botella de agua, tomates asados lentamente y dos Legara American Hots. Preguntado si queríamos Classic o Romana base así dicho quería Romana. Bebidas y tomates llegaron rápidamente. Diferentes camareras trajeron pizza Romana estándar pero como íbamos al teatro decidimos tomar estos pero ella ofreció una ensalada pero nos declinamos. Cuando comenzamos a comer vimos al personal mirando y discutiendo está a la vista antes de que el gerente viniera a discutir nuestra orden, pero solicitó discutir después de nuestra comida. La pizza no estaba bien cocinada ya que el medio era pastoso, así que me fui la mitad y el marido comió un poco más. Tampoco llegó cerveza que criamos con la camarera, pero ella dijo que pensaba que mi marido no quería un vino como pedido! La gerente regresó después de que habíamos terminado, así que discutimos el tema cortésmente y se ofreció a quitar las pizzas de la cuenta, con lo que dijimos que no nos sentíamos cómodos ya que habíamos comido, pero insistió. Le gritamos que habíamos estado en Pizza Express desde el primer restaurante lanzado y los estándares habían bajado significativamente, lo que ella estaba de acuerdo. Le dije que su personal necesita entrenamiento para escuchar cuidadosamente mientras recibe órdenes. De mi experiencia anterior repetir el pedido a los clientes siempre ayuda. También pedimos un café y un café Reale. Nuestra factura tenía descuento en el costo de la pizza, así que dejamos una pequeña propina. Great food but despite being very quiet at 4.30 in the evening the service was very slow. Had to wait to order mains, wait for a dessert menu, wait to order dessert... we're regulars at Pizza Express but the first time in this branch and I'd say it was the slowest service we've ever had.

Went to meet family for lunch, with two small children. Pizza is their favourite meal. Arrived at 12 (advertised opening time) to be told they would not open til 12.30. Returned at 12.30. The children wanted dough balls, pizza and ice cream. There were two servers, one seemed to be a trainee, and hadn't got as far as taking orders. The whole lunch took two and a half hours. Children were bored and restless. Me too. The food was OK, but by the time we'd finished, we were too fed up to care.

Eva was a fantastic host. She made us laugh and was very helpful and friendly! The food was fantastic! The mozzarella topped garlic bread was AMAZING and my friend loved the American Hottest Romana pizza Thanks for a great evening!

We were waiting ages for our food despite it not being particularly busy, but to be fair to them they did apologise as they'd had system trouble and discounted our bill. I had the arancini balls which were really disappointing. They didn't have much flavour and weren't very crispy. The others enjoyed their pizzas.

Absolutely fantastic pizza, even when u see adds for pizzas on TV it doesn't look this great. Tastes awesome too. La Reine with added pepperoni, is my go to, the large 13.5" will feed 3 people. Delivery man was quick

Visited in a largish group and the waitress (I believe her name was Izzy) was soo friendly! She really was lovely and made our experience an enjoyable one. Never had a bad experience at this or any Pizza Express restaurants! Always lovely food and service

A great choice for a meal after an afternoon at the Crucible.

I visited on a busy Saturday night during the world snooker championships. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to find me a table as I was eating alone. The quality of the food is very good. This is probably one the best Pizza Express restaurants I've been too. The BBQ burnt ends pizza was lovely and if you like your BBQ sauce then it's a winner. Special mention to Reghan (sorry if name spelt wrong) who looked after me and went the extra mile to make sure everything was ok

I’ve never left a bad review for a restaurant before but I truly think this is deserving of a 1 star. Despite the restaurant being almost empty it took is a little over 20 minutes to be served after we had been seated. There was apparently no ice for the drinks but as this was not their fault I’m not overly bothered about this. The polenta chips are advertised to be served with a honey mustard dip, instead I was served an empty sauce bowl alongside them. After we had finished it then took another 20 minutes of waiting for the bill until we finally looked up if we could pay online as we had spent longer waiting to be served altogether than it took to actually eat our mediocre meals. I was told they were unable to make the original martini I had chosen as there was no ice so I swapped this for a significantly cheaper Diet Coke however upon checking the online receipt I was still charged for the martini. I honestly could not be bothered to wait anymore so just left and did not bother trying to get the attention of a server to rectify this as we had already waited enough.

The pizzas are always good quality so the returant is great. However please stop using delivery guys on pushbikes. I get a phone call saying they are here. I open the door. See them at the end of the drive. Go back in side to put some shoes on. Walk the the end of the garden getting rained on. Wouldn't mind but surely it's faster for them to walk the extra 15 yards. Then when you get it it's cold because it was delivered by a guy on a push bike. You then have to turn the oven on and basically cook it yourself again taking another 15 mins. I'm starting to ask myself why i am ordering a delivered (why am i paying for delivery) take away that i get rained on collecting and then have to cook myself.

This used to be a really good joint with great atmosphere and great service. I used to be a regular here prepandemic as well as during the pandemic. However, postpandemic i have been there twice recently and it’s very different- not just the decor. Some of the old staff are still there but the staff morale is poor and service quality has definitely dropped a few notches down. The disabled toilet with baby changing facilities were closed due to a fault. The ladies toilet also had only one toilet cubicle open! That too didn’t have toilet paper. The sinks were clean and had running water but no soap in the dispensers!! The dough balls served to kids were burnt!! And to too it up- the food for the adults were badly made. No one came to check that the food was fine or not. The bill in the end was wrong as well and got overcharged for things. Even during the pandemic and postpandemic (last year) they were doing well. However, both times i have visited with family in 2024 has been very disappointing!

Had a really nice meal here on the 10th Feb. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and what you’ve come to expect from Pizza Express, really tasty, good value food. Definitely my preferred Italian food chain.

A lovely lunch with the most polite young lady waiting on us and coming to check on us. The food was great, we didn't have to wait long for it, well done to the chefs for speed and tastiness. They also pointed out if we download their App we could have FREE dough balls. So we did that. Really nice time was had by all 3 of us

Good return visit to PE. A bit pricey at well over £100 for three people but great service nonetheless. Our waitress was top class.

It's a rip-off. They charge way too much for what they give, particularly for the calzones. It cost 20 for a single one and it was tiny. I got much bigger ones from other places at a cheaper price.

Me and my friend went in September around 3 pm on a weekday. on arrival, the staff were friendly and welcoming they were taken to our table which was clean and quiet, and the waiter gave us some free water before we ordered. we ordered our food which was two pizzas and dough balls and we waited for it it took an EST 15 minutes for our starters and when we had eaten our dough balls the pizza came out to eat which took around EST 15 minutes to came out we have eaten the pizza and we left great but my only slight negative which was the only one staff out but if it was full and one staff it would have taken longer to get our food.

Visited twice (Friday and Sunday) after updating app and having VIP email for 50% off pizzas until 25 January. On Sunday, I entered the restaurant and was fairly quickly welcomed and I suggested a table where I could sit on a comfortable material seat with high back i.e. at the edge of the restaurant. I chose what I wanted and there seemed to be a slight delay in being noticed, with one server cleaning a table when many tables were available that were already cleaned. But I wasn't too miffed, although I did have to meet a friend afterwards so typically in a bit of a hurry. The waitress was the same person who served me on Friday and the drink delivery was mega fast and the pizza came within a very reasonable amount of time and was freshly cooked and warm. It was the first time I had tried the La Cubana and it was nice to have some different flavours and spices. I paid using cash as I wanted a £5 note in my change. As I am new to using the app, the waitress was very helpful in showing me what to do on my mobile phone app. I had left the waitress a £2 tip on Friday and so did the same on Sunday although didn't get to have the thanks and see you later conversation as waitress was in the back somewhere. But overall I enjoy pizza and the size of the Romana bases are very good although I noted that prices had risen since last time I visited (as in 2023).

Payed £50 pizzas children waiting, see the driver in the appn comming in our street and drive of stating it is delivered. 20 minutes minted of calling and still no pizza no answer nothing... Don't use them, they will steal your money

A really wonderful experience that myself and my mum had today. My mum had the festive pizza (which she adored) and I had the mushroom and truffle pizza (gluten free), which was delicious. I’ve always said and will continue to recommend Pizza Express for brilliant selection of gluten free dishes and exceptional service. We were served by the wonderful Isabella today, an asset to the team! Staff like Isabella make the experience all the more special.

The drivers never look at street numbers and because of this my food has arrived late and stone cold .. I have no kitchen in as it’s been redone so. I can’t reheat it and at £20 for a pizza and some dough balls it’s not good enough .. employ drivers that are geographically aware please

Went in to dine. No staff at door to welcome. Only 4 diners in the place. I think the chef came over to ask if we wanted to eat ???. Asked for a menu. He threw 3 together on the table. My wife had to walk the length of the place to ask for Christmas menu. He came back to the table with it. We asked for drinks. He walked off. We walked out.

Excellent food, excellent service. We went on a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn’t too busy, can’t fault it at all.

We know pizza express very well as its one of the view places I truly trust to handle my gluten allergy. However, I also just want to comment on this particular branch for a couple of reasons. For one reason, though I know the GF dough is made offsite to a standard recipe, this time the base was particularly delicious, soft and stretchy like a "real" pizza so I don't know if there was something in the way the chef handled it but it was utterly delicious after being so used to the hard, biscuity kind of pizza you usually get doled out when you are GF (I don't mean in Pizza Express as their's are always pretty darn good but in general). I also want to comment on the excellent waitress as I suffer from POTs and arrived through the door just as I was having a really dizzy sugar low moment feeling like I might if I stood a moment longer. She was very quick to clock my distress and ushered me into a comfortable seat at a table right by the door, even though it wasn't quite ready to be used, and asked me what I needed, getting me a drink of water really promptly. She was extremely attentive while I got myself together and with the menu choices and so I was so grateful that it was her serving me on this particular occasion as this is not the kind of service you could hope to expect in a lot of busy high street places these days...this was exceptional.

It’s a really nice restaurant, lovely environment and staff. We ordered one Christmas pizza, tastes pretty good! Got free dough balls. That’s enough for two people! I’ll definitely come back and try other pizzas!!

The food was sub par and a hair in my pizza the staff were great however the manager was awful made a useless mistake and tried to blame us refused to apologies or help and made multiple attempts to turn us away with no help until a member of staff gave us an option to help. A smarmy manager. No one checked on us or refilled our glasses or offered us drinks after we had been served food. Easily the worst dining experience of my life. Half the cutlery was dirty

The manager who was on duty was absolutely awful, staff themselves were nice, did everything well, manager made one of our party cry, we booked multiple tables of 8 weeks in advance, they said all will be sorted, came on the day and only had 1 table of 8 and was basically told “it’s not our problem” by the manager, absolutely awful the way he treated us

Took my little one to a birthday party, the staff were great, very accommodating, provided colouring books, crayons and party hats, the pizza went down well with my daughter, kept her quiet for all of 20 minutes so thank you ! Just a quick mention to Amber and Fran who were super attentive.

It was a bit cold when I got it!

I booked my daughter’s 4th birthday party for 10 children and 6 adults and it was the best birthday she has ever had! I was able to pre-order food and cake day before so no worries about how long food would take and children getting restless. I was allowed to bring a birthday balloon and birthday cake decorations. There were quite a few children that have learning difficulties and this was one of the first parties that they had experienced in a restaurant environment. Thank you so much for making the parents attending feel comfortable and welcome. Special appreciation to Amber, Fran and Rhogan and all the pizza people that gave the time out to show how pizzas are made to the children that were interested.

I ordered a pizza... thay took so long that the pizza got vdry cold and it was not even cutted!! it was a margarita but with like 0 cheese on it!!! I paid for that what I can't even name it as a pizza!! 10 f**ing £!
