Pizza Express in Kirklees

Pizza base is burnt. It’s supposed to be double cheese but there’s more tomato sauce than cheese.

Ordered at 5pm and it arrived burnt at 7pm

Just a extortionatly priced pizza hut dont bother

The lady was who served us had some sort of racism with use the starter come quick but the main took 50minutes when I asked her she said I’ll ask my manager and it still didn’t come for another 30 minutes and when it come it was as cold and they had group talking about us I don’t know what to ask the reason it was my first time going in and last time they need to change the manager she don’t know what she doing

Didn't get chance to have food despite the fact there was 10 floor staff that I could see and 5 cooks that I could see (more of each in the back) it wasn't overly busy but they were all like deer in headlights. The team leaders (or supervisor) where equily lost. There wasn't anyone leading anyone all Just lost sheep, the only up side really was when we complained and asked to get our drinks bill they didn't charge us. We waited almost 40 mins before leaving.

Very disappointing, freezing cold, some bits with no toppings at all. Was not very nice.

Waiters and waitresses are amazing and always smiling and doing what they can. Restaurant over books all the time and then the kitchen can't deal with it. Over 2hour wait for our main meal. This is the third time this has happened when we've come here. Uber eats going out of the door while we have to sit and wait.

We’ve just had a children’s party at Pizza Express Birstall and Daniel and John went over and above to make it fabulous for our daughter. It’s the third party we’ve had here and this has been the best. Both John and Daniel had friendly and positive attitudes, regularly checking that everyone was having a great time. Thank you both for a lovely morning!

We waited 30 minutes and recieved only a drink each. The management had no clue what was happening, there were more staff than customers and none of them had a clue. My partner is a chef and I owned a bistro. We both saw the disorganisation, the mis management and the absolute fear in some of the staffs eyes as they didn't know what to do next. The place needs some serious re-organisation. The pass is a plate storage instead of a pass. There were 5 people at the pizza ovens making pizza garlic bread and dough balls... the rest of the menu is made out back so why so many out front? Luckily when we asked to pay for our drinks and leave, they realised what had gone wrong and cleared our bill entirely. We were great fully for that.

Ordered and was advised 25mins. 30mins mins comes and goes as the delivery timer keeps getting pushed back, tried calling but no answer. Another 40 minutes later and the food is delivered stone cold. Terrible service, will not order again.

over an hour after the time stated on the app the food was cold and had very little cheese on each pizza they must of been a cheese shortage in the restaurant as it had minimal rateon of cheese one of the pizza was wrong but my little girl still ate it as she was hungry and couldn't wait any longer absolutely shocking service normally we would go out but had a long day so decided to get a delivery never again

I organised an educational visit and we had a great time. The booking process is straightforward and the staff at the restaurant were great. The manager coped well with our mixed age range group and we all left with a great pizza, thank you so much for your hospitality and patience!

Rob our waiter was absolutely amazing! The kids were tired post holiday. Obviously we didn’t want to cook at home so we nipped to j27. They were a nightmare, lots of demands. He recognised stressed parents and was just so lovely with the girls. Good was also good. New menu!

So this restaurant thinks it’s ok to give multiple orders to just eat delivery services telling me he’s had this pizza in his car for over 45minutes I told him I want it picking up not only it’s not cooked properly it’s absolutely freezing the man on the phone was not bothered at all this is disgusting my first time ordering from them and the last time I will put this all over social media platforms too you are disgusting

Quality was decent but did not justify the prices for those portion sizes. Furthermore they packed the drinks in with the hot food resulting in warm beverages, which isn't really desirable for ice tea and a can of coke (which were also obscenely expensive).

Receipt on the package says packed at 20:06, I didn't get it until 20:40. It's a 10 minute drive. It was very cold when it got here and very soggy

yet another restaurant who favours Deliveroo and Just eat table booked for 16:45 hot seated 17:11 now 18:44 and had dough balls 4 kids under 8 waiting 1 hour 30 mins plus for small pizzas Been told by management I'm sorry but that's how the kitchen operates Stay Clear

It took 2 hours from order to delivery. The restaurant was 5 miles away. The original delivery time was 1 hour. The pizza was not hot when it arrived. We are not impressed at all by the speed of the service.

A special thanks to the lovely Hungarian man (I camt remember if he was called Rob or David or maybe even Dan) either way his customer service really stood out especially when he helped me choose what to decide what to order. He also troubled shooted with the Pizza Express app - which was being nightmare and kept crashing when it requested my postcode. Exceptional customer service thank you for helping me with the app and also allowing me to take left over food home by putting it in boxes great service

Dimmed lights around pizzeria. Turn on the slow motion camera and point to dimmed light. They flickering. I'm sensitive to flickering light. It's bad for your health. Its causing headaches and migraines. Pizzas are delicious though

Had such a caring and well informed coeliac experience whilst being served by Rob today. As someone who needs a gluten free meal it makes all the difference when eating out. He went above and beyond to make me feel safe when I ordered my meal, and was so well informed about cross contamination risk - even down to the garlic butter! Thoroughly enjoyed the dough balls, didn’t realise I could have them but Rob told me I could! Quick service, huge portion and a lovely take away box for spare I couldn’t finish. Thank you to the team here for having a fab attitude to allergens.

We had an amazing time and this was made by Emma who was happy and smiling and knew when to be there and ensured we had enough time between courses. What a great advocate for pizza express, really good at her job. Really helpful, polite nothing was too much trouble and very informative about the dishes being served. We would definitely come again the food was really enjoyable and it’s a nice chill out.

Today I have returned and I’m being felt rushed the waiter kept coming to our table saying if we want to order and then she came and said the kitchen is back logged by 30 mins if we want to to order now ? This is the 7th time waiter came to us to force us to order our food, if this continues I will not be returning!!!! I also seen her speaking to a colleague and that same colleague straight away looked at us hence how we knew we are being talked about, I do not want to come to a restaurant being taken fun off if this continues I won’t be returning!!!

I came here yesterday for lunch. I’ve always been a fan of pizza express’s and often visit the one in York. I came to this one whilst visiting friends over the holidays, and unfortunately had an experience that has put me off from returning to the Birstall branch. There was a bald member of staff, I think he may have even been a manager, and I overheard him talking negatively about members of staff to other staff members, which made me feel super uncomfortable. The food was standard but I felt this persons actions were highly unprofessional. I don’t come to pizza express’s to hear toxicity. I therefore will not be back.

The dough balls are cold and the pizza is only just warm very unsatisfactory

Worse pizza express ever food service was dreadful asked twice were our starters was, after 1hr wait staff very ungrateful it was like we were not welcome. Mains came out 1hr 15min after waiting then our starters came out afterwards. Pizzas were so dry and tasteless the polenta chips only got 6 in a tiny tin and so dry . staff never asked us if we wanted dips .they were quite rude in customer service. Not just to us but a few near us were not happy. It also seems that the kitchen staff care more about online orders then those in restaurant because they were coming in and going quicker then our service. First and last want a waste of 100 quid plus no sorry i dont want to discuss it they were customers coming in after us and getting served before us getting served in 30min people coming for collection and on line orders getting served first .you need to look after the ones that come in to the restaurant first .

Although food is good, service should be better for the prices they charge. Staff are slow and ignored our table for long. The drinks we ordered with the dessert never been served and the waiter lied saying that he made them and forgot to bring them to us, while we were sitting behind the bar and know that he didn't make any drinks since we ordered!!!

Tonight Rob served us and he has been the best yet - very professional and polite!

Completely wrong order delivered

I ordered a pasta bundle (pasta and dough balls) and only received the pasta 😔

Visited on a Saturday approx 1pm. Was originally given a load of Colouring pens for my toddler which were all green (these were replaced). Took 45 mins to get our mains, with nearly 15 mins wait between receiving the 2x adult meals and the 2x children's meals (which were delivered Stone cold first time). All restaurants know you deliver the kids meals first... my own pizza ended up Stone cold, because what type of father eats his meal while his family is still waiting, so all in all disappointed. Our waiter was clearly having problems with the kitchen, and trying to get our food out in a manner befitting of normal Pizza Express standards. Pizza still tasted good despite being cold, and the macaroni cheese side was one of the best I've tasted. Kids meals were comped by way of apology.

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Pizza was delicious and definitely worth its price. I appreciated atmosphere the most, it's not too loud so we could talk to eachother and even our baby boy managed to have a nice long sleep in his pram while there.

The food here is consistently good. We were served by John on Monday tea time and he gave us excellent service. He is an absolute credit to the team. He provided us with the best service I've had anywhere in a long time. Nothing was a problem. Thankyou so much and keep up the hard work. It really is appreciated.

Good service from nice staff but choice of food poor. No meatfeast pizza...no carbonara....ended up with mac and cheese with ham added but the ham.was cold. This place used to be busy but only 25% full on a Sunday afternoon now. Will think twice before going again.

Very expensive for what it is. I would say pizzas are ok but nothing special. Dough balls very disappointing. Quite long waits as they do online delivery as well. We shared a starter, two Romana pizzas and shared a dessert. All of that came to a total of 70£. We had a discount that thankfully brought it down to 53£. 70 quid for a starter and two pizzas is ridiculous in a big chain...

The food was delicious and the service was quick. Our server Daniel was polite and friendly 👍.
