Pizza Express in Bromley

The manager and our waiter went above and beyond in making us feel welcomed. I was lost for words. Other restaurants take note of pizza express. From start finish an amazing time.

only gave 4 starts because I'm so used to pizza express now. service was on another level though. Jamar is the man- … great guy!!

Awful service, waited over 2 hours for food.

Saturday 8th March, 16:26. Unfortunately, the waiter (young girl with long ponytail) was more interested in prepping empty tables in a quiet restaurant than to attend to my table. I was 1 person, so didn’t need long to browse a menu. It appeared she deliberately avoided eye contact and to look towards the area my table was seated. By the time she was ready, it felt it was best to leave which I did. As such, I can’t provide a fair rating for the food.

I would like to share my recent experience at this restaurant during Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, it was, without exaggeration, the worst service I have ever encountered. Despite the restaurant being busy, the waiting staff moved at a glacial pace. No one paid attention to our table, and I ended up doing the waiter’s job myself. I had to serve the food, pour water, and clear the table. Not once did any staff member approach us to check if everything was alright. I found myself managing everything—from ensuring we had enough water to prompting when to order desserts and even signalling that our table needed clearing. When we accidentally spilled some water, the waitress brought over a blue roll, but instead of helping, she just left a crumpled pile of it on the table. Later, when one of the children spilled yoghurt, she handed us four tiny napkins and left. The wet, messy puddle remained next to us for the entire duration of our meal. It genuinely felt like nobody cared. To make matters worse, this wasn’t just any lunch. I had chosen this place to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with 11 children. I had even sent the restaurant a list of the children’s meal choices well in advance, hoping this would lead to a smooth and efficient service. How wrong I was! Things were so delayed that I had to ask the parents to arrive half an hour later because the staff couldn’t keep up. I had hoped this day would remain in my memories as something bright and beautiful—a day where, for the money I paid, the children would be well-fed and happy. But no, it wasn’t even close to that. It was a complete nightmare! The whole experience was dreadful. At one point, I couldn’t hold back and told the manager exactly what I thought. He apologised, of course, but that was all. His apology felt empty, and it was clear his lack of leadership contributed to the poor service and the staff’s indifferent attitude. As long as this manager remains in charge, I can confidently say you will not receive a good dining experience. I left feeling shaky with nerves and frustration. This was particularly disappointing as I have visited many other branches of this chain and always had a positive experience. I will never return. This day will now live on as a nightmare in my memory.

West Wickham, Kent - Pizza Express Exceptional service, attention to detail and amazing experience dining here. Tony our waiter was so friendly, efficient and went the extra mile throughout our meal. From his friendly approach, engaging with both my young children, letting them prepare their dessert with him in the kitchen, to being overly accommodating with dietary requests. Thank you Pizza Express West Wickham and thank you very much Tony!!!

Do not order from this restaurant. We ordered at 7:15 on a 35 min delivery confirmation. 3 Uber eats drivers went to the restaurant. At 8:45 I went myself and the pizza had not even been made. Uber then went to my house (without any order) just to confirm and tell me the order was delivered - while I was still in the restaurant waiting for it!!!! Shocking service and I will never order from Pizza Express or Uber again.

The restaurant was half full, we were told it might be round 20 minutes before we could order, no issues with that. We then waited around 30 minutes whilst others seated after us had their orders taken, drinks and starters. We felt like we were intentionally being ignored. We hadn’t even been offered water after a 30 minute wait we left without ordering and staff didn’t even notice till we were out the door.

Kept pushing the delivery time back. Pizza’s was severely lacking in cheese. One slice of mine was just tomato paste. Won’t be ordering again. Pizza Express isn’t what it used to be!

Wrong item was sent, I received a garlic bread instead of my pizza plus literally 7 haloumi bites. No one picked up a phone when I called numerous times to try and sort it out. Not impressed with restaurant. Just eat refunded my order partially but I’m still sitting here hungry and will be for a while as have to order something elsewhere

Ordered their meal deal (2 pizzas and dough balls doppio) the dough balls came but no pizzas! Absolutely awful service!

Pizza was a bit cold and a bit doughy, the calamari tasted burnt..quality of Pizza Express has gone downhill somewhat, but we were hungry and it did a job. Wouldnt order from here again.

Disappointed that the pasta meals are no longer all gluten free by default. The result is that the gluten free pollo pesto pasta I ordered was fusilli instead of penne- I assume so the kitchen can distinguish between the non gf and the gf. It just didn't look or taste correct. It's usually a full hearty oven dish of lovely proud penne with chicken and red onion, and this time it was a sad looking deflated bowl of curled up fusilli with a couple of bits of chicken and much less overall substance. Inflation has ruined my favourite dish 😕

Food was hot, delivered really fast, courier was polite and everything was good except the dish was supposed to have mushrooms. Tbh it was still lovely.

I'm speechless. I always thought they did the best pizza, how wrong was I? I have never been so dissapointed, chewy, burned, cold the pizza had two layers , literally. The dough was terrible.

Birthday celebration meal. Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Really nice place to dine. Our server was also outstanding, made us feel welcome and comfortable, shecalso explained how the ordering app worked and what it doesn't, in this modern way of ordering food.

Great food as always and brilliant service. We were made to feel very welcome with our 2 year old and the waiter even invited him to come over to the kitchen to prepare his own ice cream, which he loved. We'll be back

The recent renovation makes it less accessible for buggys and wheelchair users. Whilst they do accommodate, they have put large fixed seating throughout the centre of the restaurant which makes accessing the back of the restaurant (where the toilets are located) much more difficult when the restaurant is busier. Food is consistently good but worth considering for families and disabled guests planning to visit :)

Lovely meal..lasagne, pizzas, mozzarella bites, dough balls... all very hot and very tasty. Great to be able to use all our rewards for free soft drink, hot drink and 2 sides. Nice restaurant. Will be returning.

I had a great time last night in the restaurant. The food and atmosphere was great. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. I'll definitely be back.

Excellent service, great experience.

Superb service from Basim, Elvira and Elsa. Food arrived hot and tasty, we were welcomed as soon as we arrived and looked after from the moment we were seated. This is a great local restaurant and led by the manager, all of the staff offer a personable and friendly service. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing, enjoyable, tasty experience!

Hair in my food which was dealt with really badly by the manager who shrugged his shoulders said we all make mistakes and that it could be anyone’s hair unacceptable

ordered through Uber eats bbq chicken pizza classic base, This is the worst pizza i ever had in my entire life. Seriously who makes pizza using bbq sauce as a base. The whole pizza had six pieces of chicken. What a waste. This is a scam don't fall for it in uber eats

My 6 year old had his birthday party at Pizza Express west wickham and it was brilliant. Staff members - Ali, Karis & chef Rob made it really fun for the kids and it was well organised. The children made thier own pizza, had dough balls to start with veg & then icecreams for pudding. Attentive staff & clean restaurant. Recommended.

We had our daughter’s 6th birthday party here and it was wonderful! From start to finish the party was engaging, fun and enjoyable! The staff were brilliant and we couldn’t have asked for more! The girls had a super time!

lovely staff and good food but the cost of the food is crazy. they make at lest 90% margin on pizzas as they are around £1 at cost the make.

Some of the best vegan pizzas I have ever eaten, they are not cheap, but where is there cheap food in the London area? The service was impeccable, from the hand of a charming and super attentive waitress, I think my name is Katia, which I saw on the receipt. Highly recommended

I was not impressed. When I contacted Pizza Express, I was advised to contact Just Eat. I asked for a contact number, (given). When I dialled the number, there were two options - Business and Customer, I selected customer, only to go through the process again to choose options (ie. Business or Customer). I was unable to get through and speak with anyone at Just Eat When I checked the app, it stated the Driver is on their way for delivery. The Just Eat app did showed a driver was available, however, when I contacted Pizza Express I was told they were waiting on a driver. I had the same problem last week. Was given a discount voucher by Just Eat however it was not accepted.

food turned up cold. I am now heating it up. I told the courier the boxes felt cold but he didn't seem to care. not good considering we are a 5 minute drive from the restaurant

I probably go here more than I should! But you know what you're getting, and it's consistently good. The service is always good, they are sometimes very busy so don't expect immediate service. But a busy restaurant is a sign of a good restaurant!! My spend per head included starter, main, dessert, and a couple of bottles of wine, so not necessarily reflective of a standard meal!

Pizza arrived like this. Absolutely appalling - all of the toppings are missing and it isn't even cooked! I called the restaurant and was told that there was nothing they could do because it's Uber Eats' problem... like they make the pizza?? Can't even get in contact with Uber Eats to sort the problem out. Complete waste of money!

Wonderful kids party on the Saturday. So happy to have Stephanie as our host. She and the team did an amazing job! The majority of the children have SEN and this did not appear to faze them. From start to end, the party went smoothly and was enjoyable for all. The feedback from the children and parent(s) have been great. The team exceeded expectations and nothing appeared too much trouble. What a joy to have the party at Pizza Express West Wickham. Thank you.

Missing item from order and order arrived almost an hour and a half after it was places. Driver also took a very long route to get here.

The food was collected at 19:05 it was delivered at 19:35 a five minute journey from the restaurant it was stone cold

Garlic bread with mozzarella was missing from the order.

Staff always lovely and friendly here and make the children feel special. Great for a casual meal with the family. Always a hit with the kids.

We’re regular customers, normally very good food and service but tonight we were rudely turned away, told very abruptly that there were no tables available when there was a number of empty tables. They clearly don’t value their returning customers, very disappointing.

As always - West Wickham Pizza Express delivers excellent food and excellent service. I meet up with friends 3 times a year here and we are always the last to leave!! We never feel rushed. The food arrives promptly and I look forward to my padana pizza and a girlie chat.

Waitress was on another planet. Food took 30mins to arrive and one pizza came at least 5 mins before the next. When we asked what the delay was we were just told would we like to speak to the manager and if we dud it would be a while before they came. Eventually she did come...non committal but gave 30% discount. I will not return.

Staff were very friendly food was tasty, well timed and we weren't rushed by the staff when we took a while to sort out the children's orders etc. They also pro idea water for the table. The pesto pasta was lovely.

Been there once, and got about 4 discounts for no reason and been there again and got some dough balls and they gave us another free box

I haven't been to pizza express in years, because i never thought it was very good but I went for the first time in ages a few days ago and it was amazing! I am not a big fan of pizza so I had cannalonie a vegetarian dish that was fantastic, but don't have it if you don't like cheese! Service was wonderful, we were served quickly and affidiantly we then met the waitress called Karis who was a delight and made sure we had the best experience! Would definitely come again (don't go if you don't like loud atmospheres though as it is very popular)

The American hot looked like the King with just some added green peppers. Missed a proper American Hot. That is why the Restaurant service got 3 stars. Otherwise everything else was hot and relished.

I asked my husband to check and he said they were chillies..the waiter was kind enough to say he would get me another one however I said my husband would eat it..so I had a bit of desert to cool my mouth down but was hungry by the time I went home..my husband was generous enough to give a tip

Unfortunately I have to give a very low score. Mainly because the quality-price ratio is very bad. They charge you £17 for a frozen pizza. Literal. We watched as they took the flattened pizza dough out of the freezer and put the ingredients on top. I could understand this procedure if it is a pizzeria that is full at all hours, but in this case it was empty.

What a Fantastic restaurant! We booked a table for 10 people, 9 adults and 1 child. The manager and all his staff were so friendly and professional. This is the second time we have booked a large table and have been looked after so well. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Poor quality overpriced pizza. A rip off in my opinion. We went to a really smart family owned restaurant nearby a few days later. It was much much cheaper and in beautiful surroundings with great service. Wake up Pizza Express!!

I cannot thank the staff enough for the amazing pizza making birthday party for my daughter and her 15 friends. Brilliantly run with minimal stress; the kids had the best time!

Frankly the worst pizza express I have had the displeasure of visiting. I specifically asked my my pizza to be well done, extra crispy, and it came to me virtually uncooked dough. They also decided they wanted to charge £1 for pots of garlic butter, and give 1/3 as much per pot. So no, I’m never ever going to come here as long as I live.

Really tasty vegi pizzas on a thin base. It's just a shame the plates don't come hot; you either have to eat quickly or eat fast cooling pizzas.

Good selection of food, including vegan options and kids menu. Fast service even though the restaurant was full, though we had to ask for crayons for the kids and for a high chair to be removed so we could sit down. Kid's menu is good value. The food is tasty and filling
