Pizza Express in Edinburgh, City of

order kept being delayed and at 18:27 it said 'Delivered' but the order never arrived. Have requested a refund but want refund for delivery and service charges as well

the pizza base was under cooked and soggy and they don't slice the pizza not great if your having it take away in a hotel room also food was freezing when it arrived and cheese was all clumpy

WRONG PIZZA & FOOD WAS COLD!!!! One of the pizzas I ordered was meant to be a cheese pizza with pepperoni and I got a cheese pizza with chicken onions and tomatoes, the food arrived cold, only thing that was good was how fast it arrived. The fact the food was cold and it took 5 minutes to get here is horrendous. Sadly I will not be ordering from here again when staying in Edinburgh.

A very pleasant experience. The pizzas are very good and are generous in size. They have gluten-free options for the entire menu. We were also lucky to be assisted by Calum, who speaks Spanish very well and who made sure that we were comfortable at all times.

This was my first ever experience at pizza express. It was AMAZING! The food was great loved the pizza - and our waiter was so sweet. His name was Calum and he was so nice and kind even though they had had a very hectic day, he still made it a great experience. I would recommend you definitely come here rather than Dishoom.

My family and I had the delightful meal last night. Being a Friday evening and Christmas shoppers out, it was a busy evening, however, the service was fast, the food was fast and tasty, and the restaurant did not feel busy at all. All the staff were hard working and very welcoming. We had the pleasure of being served by Shawn last night and I can honestly say she was the best waitress I have ever had in my life. She showed great knowledge for her job and despite it being a busy evening, she didn't make us feel rushed when talking to us, taking her time to listen to us, yet still got so much work done. Well done team and well done Shawn!

Wasn’t busy when I arrived yet service took a long time. Said no to allergies and then my main arrived as gluten free - despite being served doughballs prior. No time to fix as had already waiting 30min for food to arrive. Served by someone not in stripes, so assuming he was a manager but his service was very slow.

Had a booking here for 7pm. Arrived 5 minutes early. About 4 customers in front of us. Once we were at the front we stood for about 10 minutes, not one person acknowledged us at all despite coming near us on more than one occasion. Restaurant was reasonably busy but plenty of chances to keep our custom by simply acknowledging we were waiting. Very sloppy customer service. We walked out and took our custom elsewhere.

Order kept getting delayed… then said it had been delivered after 2.5 hours. Food did not arrive. Restaurant did not answer the phone

the driver was sweet, but order kept getting delayed maybe a problem with the restaurant, the food was cold and the cheese had gone hard not ideal.

Order never arrived please refund me. Waited over 2 hours and never received my order

Took 2 hours for a pizza and dough balls. And the restaurant was next door to our hotel. :(

I am a coeliac and lactose intolerant. I got an excellent service and felt very relaxed knowing that they took very good care. I received an excellent service from Shaun. She is very kind and caring. A real asset!!

The food was delicious, but the service is on another level. It’s the best restaurant we’ve been to so far and it’s the only one restaurant we’ve come back to. Once again the service and food are amazing. Highly recommended.

Pizza was appalling if they were served in a restaurant they would not have been paid for. Undercooked hardly any toppings and a take away the pizzas were not cut so could not be eaten easily. Delivery driver was asked to ring to confirm when he was here but did not ring then moaned at me for not being there. 1 i was waiting for just eats and Uber eats were waiting outside, use the right bag if you are not going to follow delivery advise 2 don’t be rude to customers when they have been waiting

The food at this pizzeria was incredible, some of the best we have ever had. But what really stood out was Shawn's attentiveness. She was very friendly and attentive, and also helped us by speaking more slowly in English, which made the experience even more pleasant. A totally recommended place!

Great dinner in the heart of Edinburgh! The food was great- as you’d expect! The service was great too. This is just off the royal mile and we precooked which meant we didn’t have to wait. I think this would be a very busy restaurant at peak times so booking makes sense if you can.

PIZZA EXPRESS - VICTORIA STREET. Another visit to Pizza Express in Victoria Street was a much better experience than our last visit. The manager gave us a warm welcome and as he recognised us from previous visits actually took the time to ask how we were. We ordered our Pizzas TV and we’re not disappointed with our choices. One Polo ad Astra and one new Pizza Bruno. Lots of toppings and great flavours especially on the Bruno pizza so would definitely recommend this one.

I went in last night on the way to a hair appointment. I didn't have a booking but restaurant was only 2/3rds full. Waitress was very pleasant, I ordered a Sloppy Giuseppe and a glass of water and waited for my order to arrive. My first pizza arrived and I was asked by a male member of staff if I wanted any sauces, etc. I requested Chilli oil which never arrived. The pizza was burnt around the edge to the consistency of charcoal and tasted terrible. I attracted the attention of the waitress who originally served me and she took the first pizza away. 10 minutes later, the replacement second pizza arrived. This pizza was just about warm but not cooked evenly. The meat and peppers were hot enough but the cheese, pizza base and tomato puree were undercooked. I did complain and the waitress offered to take it away to heat it up but I wasn't going to risk another charcoal pizza so I ate it anyway because I was hungry, couldn't wait for a 3rd pizza and the ingredients of the undercooked pizza were unlikely to kill me. At the end, I requested the bill and nothing had been removed from the price as way of an apology so I paid it and left. Incidentally, Pizza Express should use a larger type to indicate that the Romana-style pizza is more expensive or put the prices next to each other on the menu. The waitress did remove this additional cost to her credit, but it's hardly compensatory for the experience. Seriously though guys, I can't believe that your staff are unable to make your signature dish. 50% of your brand name is the word 'Pizza' and yet I am served a burnt one and an undercooked one. Where's your quality control? I wasn't actually going to post a review for this experience but despite my damage limitation of thinking that the undercooked pizza wouldn't hurt, my insides feel like I've had a visit from Dyno-rod this morning. Get yourselves sorted out!

Went with a group of friends after a day trip in Edinburgh. Had an amazing meal at this pizza express. Staff were welcoming and very However, my mate spent £7 on a blob of cheese 😂. Other than that would definitely recommend, food was amazing

Sadly, we didn't have the best experience last week which is not usual for a Pizza Express. Despite it not being that busy we waited 5mins to be noticed at the door and seated. Then we had to ask to order, ask to have things cleared away and ask for the bill, we weren't in a rush but we were not tended to at all. Really sad.

We went to this place because it was close. The name made us believe the place was a small corner shop. But it was to our surprise a really nice restaurant. The pizza was great, and the beer options suited perfectly... And lord the ice cream, wow! Do try the biscoff Sundar!!! Anyway, the service was great too. They where patiant and kind. Had a great lunch here, cannot fault the food, service or atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Would definitely recommend and I will be back. Also want to mention Delia, always a smile and a great attitude when you speak to her.

Did not receive the order. Please refund my money. Went to the wrong address, asked for me and then left without delivering the food.

Ordered the “special promo meal for 2” with a price of 34 pounds “before the discount”, advertised as 2 pizzas and 2 drinks and receive only 1 cold pizza and 2 not needed drinks. It’s a fraud they what it is. Shame on you.

No drink received. No option to put this on the feedback as part of pizza deal so not recognised as individual order. Kept putting delivery time forward so had to wait over an hour for food :(

Went there last night service really slow nearly an hour before we got our main course, I ordered pasta when it did arrive it was dried out and hard, don't order pasta it's the worst ever pasta, won't be going back they have lost a customer.

The pizza that we got for the high price was mediocre. The bbq chicken pizza had hardly and chicken but a LOT of small peppers. It was ok but not great. The woman at the front made it all alright...she was helpful and amazing ❤️

I have to say I have mixed emotions as it's Pizza express so you can't expect an amazing experience, however there were issues that need addressing. My wife ordered a vegetarian pizza which arrived with a piece of chicken attached. Needless to say she didnt finish it and the compensation was not the food removed from the bill, but instead 2 chocolate lindt balls. The cleanliness in the men's toilets was substandard and both sinks were blocked which I had to point out to a member of staff. On the plus side the staff were friendly and helpful but obviously unaware of the seriousness of serving chicken to a vegetarian. Not good enough!!!

Pretty good pizza!.. Probably deserves more of a 4 star rating but very overpriced for pizza and they're a bit stingy with the toppings.

We were a group of 22 on a reunion and from start to finish it was fantastic. We had to preorder and the instructions were clear, and they were fine with us chopping and changing the people attending in the lead up. Even accommodating an email sent at 1:30am the day of the booking! We had a lovely time and were really impressed. Thank you!

I thought the service was great but the food was not. I ordered breaded chicken and calamari that tasted more like fried process meat and the pizza was somehow burnt and cold at the same time.

Service was friendly enough but slow and got my order wrong. Otherwise the pizzas were quite sad, and the toilets were disgusting. The flies in the disabled toilet next to the kitchen made cameo visits to the table throughout the meal.

We had a fantastic works night out. They were prepared for our arrival, drinks orders taken quickly and they delivered attentive service throughout. It was a first time experience for some of my team and they were really impressed. The manager Delia is phenomenal and should be so proud of her team!

At Pizza Express, every bite was a delight – I really enjoyed the fluffy dough balls as a starter and a delicious cannelloni as a main. The passionfruit lemonade was a refreshing surprise, and the attentive staff made the experience even more enjoyable. A must-visit for a fabulous evening out!

The service is incredible slow and they don't seem to be in a rush to seat or serve you. Would not recommend this branch

Pizza Express has always been a favoured location for me, and this site is no exception. The food here is fantastic, even just your common margarita is great. Lovely thin dough, great quality toppings, delivered as you want it. I always take a Romana base these days and thoroughly enjoy myself.

Expensive for an average pizza. Other places do it better. Excellent service.

Food was cold, didnt mind the pizza being cold but the chicken strips were inedible (chicken was hard).

Short of staff, food under cooked. Forgot to delivery drinks, but try to charge later. I'm very disappointed

Drinks arrived after we finished starters. Mains arrived at the table only warm (I saw them come out the over 5 mins previous). Deserts had to be abandoned due to how long the menu's took.

Lækkert mad og super sød servitrice der hjalp os. Vi fik desværre ikke hendes navn men hun var rødhåret med en grinch juletrøje på. På trods af stress og mange kunder håndterede hun det rigtig godt!

Late afternoon Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh....no booking , no availability, despite entire place being almost empty. Sent voucher as apology. Went to North Bridge at about 20.50 at weekend. Could not serve food as glass had been broken in kitchen!!! Learnt from rival restaurant that this is common practice by disgruntled staff. Have to say that I have been totally disgusted by two last attempts to eat there. Continue to behave like this Pizza Express and you will lose all custom and you will have only yourselves to blame.
