Excellent vibe as right up in the very lively square. Was served by Maria who was fantastic through our time. She made a great coffee alongside my dolcetti - one of the best I’ve had at a Pizza Express.

Lovely visit with a friend for her birthday. We both enjoyed starters, mains and a shared dessert of the new dough balls with caramel dip! Served by a really friendly and attentive waitress, this is a great Pizza Express, central for Manchester and the food is lovely. I opted for the BBQ Chicken Pizza which was moreish and also the Hot Honey Dough Balls are also nice!

Hello, I was there yesterday evening (16.03.25), to experience it for the first time. The atmosphere was different, I can't say it was bad, but when I looked at the brand name I thought it wasn't expected to be bad. When it was time to order, the waiter who took care of us was very attentive and seemed like he was tired of working there. At first I thought so because she was old, but it started to become unacceptable. This waiter started to make us feel like we came to a bad place in the restaurant where I came with my family and children. The starters arrived and the main course arrived without me asking for it, The restaurant wasn't very busy, but there were only 3 waiters in that restaurant. Since I was not happy with the waiter who was looking after my table, I was calling the other waiter, but she was the same, the best of the worst. As for the food, it was delicious but we didn't enjoy it. Finally we asked for our bill. I paid the bill without looking at the bill. However, we had ordered dessert and they forgot to bring those desserts, so I had forgotten them after all this bad stuff, I remembered it while paying the bill and told the waiter, I said; I paid for the desserts I didn't eat, what are we going to do now? Their answer was we can do takeout, I said okay, when I got home and looked, it wasn't the dessert I ordered .. The taste was good but the waiters were very bad, the service was very bad, These events have taken precedence over the taste of food. The question "Would you like to go again?" is "No" as long as these waiters are around.

Went to PizzaExpress over the weekend after the City match with my family and had a great time! Our lovely waiter Riyyah looked after us with a smile on her face and prevented a breakdown from my toddler when told they had run out of strawberries as a topping for her brownie. She replaced them with some edible gold dust and made my daughter’s day :) The food was amazing and the service was excellent, will be back again!

What a pleasure it was to have our server Sarah who was like a ray of sunshine. Good service with a smile I will definitely be back there soon as the food was top notch too

Me and my girlfriend visited the place for dinner on 4th of Feb 25 night.A lady staff probably in her 50’s acts very rudely.We requested for a seat change as 70% of the restaurant were empty and there was no reservation, however she denied it saying the other tables are not clean.More over the cutlery for the food were placed openly on the table and not over a tissue.She further acted quietly weirdly as if we are having the food for free.Very unpleasant attitude from the staff

I ordered my food at half 7, it kept getting pushed back. It’s now 11:55 and it says it got delivered 10 minutes ago and it didn’t turn up. Won’t be ordering from here again

I had a fantastic experience at Pizza Express! The atmosphere was cozy, the staff was friendly, and the pizza was delicious. The dough was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend for a casual dining experience. Will definitely be returning soon!

Used some vouchers to pay for my food, waitress seemed annoyed, used a very unfriendly tone and immediately began to ridicule me to her colleagues as I left. A very unpleasant experience, really let the place down as the food and atmosphere is great.

Sent wrong pizza after 2 hours

Bottles of Peroni not cold, the pizza really thin like the dough had been overstretched, no crust. Really overpriced considering this. Service was good though and not a long wait for a table.

I got the lasagna and it was mostly cheese not meat or pasta sheets. I was extremely displeased in the lasagna, it didn’t feel like lasagna just a big plate of cheese. Some of the service was nice and friendly, some could be nicer.

They say some things are so bad they are funny. Well, this was so bad it was traumatic. I came here with my friends today, having booked a month ago. We came SPECIFICALLY for the snowball doughball deal (important detail, please remember). Our booking was for 6:30. We arrived promptly, full of innocent joy, wonder and anticipation. These feelings were shortly extinguished. The staff at the door told us we would be expected to leave one hour after we arrived, to make space for another booking at 7:30. Having not been told this upon booking, we were naturally rather taken aback and irritated. While eating our meal, we felt rushed as the waitress was rudely and pointedly moving tables around us, in an attempt to hurry us up. At 7:15 (note - 15 minutes before the inequitable deadline bestowed upon us), the waitress came over and said "you need to leave in 5 minutes because we need your table". She did not smile, apologise or ask about our food. We mentioned that our time slot wasn't up yet, to which she replied "well we need the table so you'll have to leave". We were shocked and appalled. At no point were we given an option for dessert (AND THIS WAS THE REASON WE CAME) despite being finished with our main course. Had someone come over and offered this, we would have placed orders. Unfortunately, this is just another fault on their behalf. We were moved before having paid, as the other party started arriving. We remain confused as to why their booking took priority over ours (there was no indication of a deadline for them, yet we booked just as they did.) The only good thing to come out of this experience is that the money we saved on dessert will pay for the urgent therapy we all require from this establishment. Never going again, would NOT recommend.

Ordered for take away and said we will sit outside on their seating area … waited 23mins then went back inside and said we have been waiting very long and they the waiter stated they didn’t know we were outside therefore the girl who took the order clearly doesn’t communicate to her team. Also I ordered garlic dip and this was missing from the bag only realised after leaving the establishment. Just had a response from the owner stating that we were by the market this is not true we were sat on the tables outside their window which is for their business absolutely disgusting to lie like this.

Last Tuesday, my family and I decided to stop by on a whim before heading to the theatre, and we were genuinely touched by the warmth of our welcome. We never expected to receive such exceptional customer service, and it made a profound difference in our evening. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our every need was met with kindness and genuine care. We left feeling valued and cherished, which is such a rare and special feeling. A heartfelt thank you is especially warranted for the general manager, Jamie, who was incredibly helpful when I lost my keys. Jamie not only assisted in trying to find them, but also exhibited compassion during a potentially stressful situation. Our waiter, Insi, deserves special recognition as well; his politeness and respect made us feel like family, and we can’t express enough how grateful we are for his exceptional service. We are eagerly looking forward to returning and reconnecting with these amazing individuals again! Today, I returned in the hopes of finding my keys, and once again, I was greeted so warmly by the manager on duty, Riyyah. She took the time to gather my details and personally searched for my keys, showing such genuine concern for my situation. We are truly looking forward to returning and reconnecting with these wonderful individuals again!

Came to Manchester with my children to see the Christmas markets. The atmophere was incredible. Had lunch in Pizza Express and although the restaurant and all around it was so busy we had the best food and the best service! My son has eaten many pizzas but commented that this was the best one hes ever had (double american cheese) Definitely worth a vist

Visited this venue post a recent refurb. It's bright and airy with a great view of the kitchen. All very clean, tidy and well presented throughout. The menu at Pizza Express changes every so often and they always have a new pizza to try, this was no exception with the very nice 'Bruno' pizza being a great new addition. The team at this restaurant are all very friendly, smiley and happy to help. Very much worth a visit if you're in the area.

Payed £16 pound for a pizza crust as hard as rock had to take crust of pizza not very filling for the price staff that look down their nose at you avoid this place wont be going again for food .

Great cocktails, the pizza’s were best in town, everything was fresh and crispy. We are extremely happy to found this place! Will definetly come back. Our server was amazing as well, the first question she asked was if we had allergies or not, really apreaciated!

Can I just say a massive thank you to everyone at Pizza Express in Picadilly Gardens, Manchester. We booked a table for 5.00pm and we were severely delayed in getting to our Hotel so decided to cancel the table as we didn't think we'd make it in time. We set off to look for somewhere to eat and arrived at Pizza Express. Explained to the staff that we had cancelled our table earlier......not a problem....they found us a table and the food and service was amazing. Their calamari is to die for. Had a lovely meal with friendly and efficient service. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Pizza was excellent as always. Service was terrible. Wanted to sit outside but had to come inside to let them know I was there and again when I wanted to pay. Wine glass was dirty and kombucha was a bit lame as it just tasted like weak ginger beer with zero acidity.

I have been to this pizza first on many occasions and I’ve had an absolutely fabulous time. The pizzas are so yummy and the service is always very good in fact this has to be my favourite pizza express in Manchester for sure.

Myself, my husband and some friends visited on a busy Saturday afternoon to grab a bite before our train home to Hull after a busy day in and around Manchester and I just had to leave a big thank you to our servers Madison and Chloe. They made our meal so relaxed and lovely, keeping in mind that Madison was being trained by Chloe and we were her second ever table! She made sure to check for any allergies, read our order back to us and both had a lovely, cheerful attitude! The food was great, got to love some PE dough balls and a romana pizza after a lot of walking but the stand out was definitely the service. When we're next visiting Manchester we'll definitely be heading back!

Me and my friend was walking up to the menu ourside which is near these three gentlemen, i was speaking arabic with my friend and the gentleman with no hair asked what did we say, i then explained to him i wasn’t speaking to him. after 1 minute me and my friend are looking at the menu still and we’re just speaking in arabic and laughing at ourselves. the gentleman in the black shirt then says what’s so funny, i told him i’m laughing with my friend and even apologised if they think it was at them, he proceeds to say people like you won’t be looking at my menu please leave, i tried asking him for a valid reason i couldn’t get one. it’s just a shame i was treated like this for no good reason. Make sure you don’t speak arabic or laugh when going here.

Went here on FA Cup Final day, was busy but not rammed. Reasonable prices, lots of action on the green square outside which I liked, if you want quiet maybe this place not for you. Pizza was delish and was generally happy with my experience here.

It's all a bit drab. The server was good. The receptionist was a bit confusing as English not native tongue which is silly for meeter greeter. The pizzas tasted great. Sides a bit measly - potato salad that is. Prices a bit tops for a pizza. I suppose when Tesco get 66% off you need to be.

I ordered pizza and pizza is all about its toppings. The driver kept it wrongly in his bag and all of the pizza was upside down. the entire toppings was stuck on the top of the box. I hated the service. I want my money back. I am a loyal customer of just eat and have ordered food worth £500 so far. I deserve to be treated better.

I had an exceptional experience at this Pizza Express branch. I opted for their pizza, which surpassed expectations. The atmosphere wasn't overly busy, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. The standout element, however, was the outstanding service. Jonathan went above and beyond by offering his portable charger, (as I was anxious about leaving my phone under the till unattended) demonstrating thoughtful consideration for my comfort. Additionally, he took the time to guide us through the app, showcasing genuine care for the customers. It's these small gestures that elevate a dining establishment, highlighting originality and a customer-centric approach. Highly recommend for both the delicious food and exceptional service. Convenient location for tram and bus connections in the city centre but otherwise a fairly soulless and stark restaurant in a large open space compared to other local branches. Food was tasty and quickly made and served, and service was efficient. Side dishes were overpriced as always, but take full advantage of the Pizza Express app for free starters, sides and soft drinks.

Perfect food with prices that don't go up too much, quite normal service and good location. I have already been 5 times and I will return more, with a little more attention to customers they will surely improve the experience a lot.

Good location in Piccadilly Gardens. The food was delicious. The place was full of customers which makes it a bit noisy. The service was slow but may be due to many customers to take care of.

I ordered tuna nicọise salad, and dough balls and ginger cake. The salad cost £14.45 and consisted of 2 wedges of salad potato, about a tablespoon of tuna, a small amount of lettuce, 2 pieces of cucumber and no nicọise dressing. The doughballs were stone cold. 2 tiny pieces of stem ginger cake for £7.75. The whole meal cost me £30.44 including £1.99 'service charge', which is daylight robbery becuase no one 'served' me. These are the smallest portions i have experienced from a restaurant.

We entered around 3pm. The place was half empty. We asked if we could eat but were told that without a reservation they couldn't give us a table. We then asked for takeaway pizzas. We waited inside the shop for the pizzas to be ready. During the entire wait no one arrived to occupy the tables, in fact many were further freed. Once the pizzas were ready we stopped outside to eat them, in front of the entrance, in the cold, but the tables inside were always empty. No one arrived to occupy them. When we left, the place had more free tables than when we arrived. The pizza was decent but nothing exceptional. Rather high price. Experience not to be repeated.

Had a lovely meal last night here, the service was amazing. Despite it being so busy, they were able add another two people to our booking. Our server Eduardo was incredible and very friendly and attentive to our table. Recently an impromptu visit to this venue which I have to say was excellent. The service was professional and friendly and warm. The Brisket Burnt ends pizza was one of the tastiest pizzas I’ve ever eaten! Fabulous for a chain pizza restaurant. I am always disappointed that pizza express don’t have chips on their menu… I would go more often if they did! X
