Anna Maria was exceptionally wonderful during our visit this evening. Very attending and very welcoming. Definitely recommend.

We did not get kids free meal as offered.

We are were visiting London from Ireland for the weekend, our last stop on the way to the airport was Pizza Express. Had the pleasure tonight of being looked after by Anna Maria and her staff team, two other fantastic ladies plus the chef team. We had a beautiful meal and even though the restaurant was full we were looked after so well, the food was amazing and the waiting staff were second to none! Well done to all three ladies for front of house skills rarely seen in such a busy environment! Anna Maria is an absolute legend and a lady. Will definitely be back to pay a visit in the future. Excellent! 👌

After visiting a very sick relation in st Marys hospital, enjoying a pizza meal with polite waiting staff, we used the toilets before leaving. Our Pizza Express experience was totally ruined when an extremely rude 'manager' followed us to the e xit and said you can't use the toilets, they are for customers only, insinuating that we had walked off the street to just use their toilet. This was said loudly in front of other patrons which was totally unacceptable. I was totally appalled that a manager would not know who was eating in their restaurant, it was only a quarter full. She would not apologise. We had to argue with her and prove we had eaten there. Lucky I had my receipt. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant. I am a gold pizza express member, and sadly will not be returning to pizza express Paddington and will tell everyone I know not to visit this branch unless they replace the manager

After visiting a very sick relation in hospital and it being my birthday we decided to go for a meal in Pizza Express Paddington. Food was nice,. our waitress polite but experience totally ruined by the rudest manageress I have ever come across. The restaurant was not busy at all and after settling the bill we went to use the washroom facilities before leaving the restaurant. We were met at the door by a totally irate woman shouting and saying the WC's were for customers only. We had been in the restaurant for over an hour, which any competent member of staff should realise, we are both in our 60's, not badly dressed and to be shouted at for using the restaurants facilities was awful and very embarrassing. We explained we had just had a meal, settled our bill, (left a tip) and we're on our way out and was met with agressive abuse and false accusations. No apology, no "I must be mistaken", but a raised voice repeating that the toilets were not for non patrons. We requested to speak to the Manager, which so sadly was our accusser. An apology which was not forth coming only an ignorant person with no customer skills and manners that should not be in a role of management. My guest is a Pizza Express Gold member and has never experienced such treatment. Totally spoilt evening, and I suggest to anyone using the restaurant to seek out the manageress before using the facilities and run like hell if you meet Pizza Expresses toilet warden.

We had some pretty good thin crust pizzas for dinner, and a children's menu was available for the children which consisted of a starter, pasta or pizza and a dessert. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive.

Snowball doughball wreath was delicious

Ordered the NEW pancetta and sage dough balls, the written description looked great but the actual dish is Dreadful! Don’t waste your money. I sent it back as the description says crispy whilst mine came barely seared and tasted of oil. The portion size is ridiculous. You pay nearly 9 pound for 4 TINY dough balls that has the lightest dusting of Parmesan, and came with what tasted like a salad dressing. To be fair the picture is doing it justice. I mean really where is that 9 pound going?

Positive experience, fantastic pizza reminiscent of real Italy, the staff were incredibly polite and welcoming 😊 We will definitely come here again next time we come to London 🤩

PizzaExpress: Disappointing First Impression ⭐️ Unfortunately, my first pizza experience in London was a letdown. PizzaExpress felt like a commercialized pizza chain, and my pizza was average at best. The taste and quality were nothing special, leaving me underwhelmed. For now, I'll have to stick with a one-star rating. Perhaps I'll try a different location or another dish in the future, but this particular visit didn't leave a good impression.

Came here last week , late afternoon . Met a friend and a spur of the moment decided to come here ( initially not my first choice as unfortunately my experience at other pizza express over past couple of years have not been of their usual standard ) The restaurant was understandably quiet due to time of day , amd was my friends first time in any pizza express , All I can say is from the moment we sat down , wow !! We was hosted by Paco , who when I asked if the bottled beers are chilled he just gave me a reassuring look and I wasn’t disappointed!! When I enquired as to the calamari to start , Paco replied that he is from Napoli and he knows food !! That was an understatement , Out whole lunch ( 3 courses ) was amazing , such nice , fresh and perfectly presented and served food with outstanding interaction , The table opposite us also felt this and we had a nice chat with those also , I highly recommend this place ( I wonder if it is perhaps a private run franchise ) as it far exceeded any previous visits to a typical chain restaurant! Schoolboy error by ourselves at the end as we didn’t mention either the blue light / veterans discount that they offer ( I believe it’s 20% also ) Yet for 2 of us , 3 courses each with drinks ( including alcohol ) a very well spent £82 , so with discount you are going to be hard to beat that ) Calamari was very good , fantastic pizza and delicious tiramisu!! The chili oil ( and garlic ) on the table were definitely home made and they were good ! Thank you guys , was a lovely meal , atmosphere and we will see you again soon !

Esperé 30 minutos para dos platos de pasta muy básicos y una pizza s, a pesar de que el lugar está en su mayoría vacío. La comida no valía la pena el precio. El servicio fue peor. Presentada la 'opción' de dar propinas al pagar con tarjeta, la actitud del servidor pasó de abrupta a francamente grosera. No podíamos esperar para salir de allí.

I went to the restaurant and asked to use the toilet while I'm waiting for my friends to have dinner but the lady manager rudely said not for public use. Is it something that I have to pay first for the food then I can use? Disappointing experience

Will never be coming back! I tried to use my student discount as I'm a uni student but when I went onto unidays no offer was coming up under pizza express. I showed the staff members and showed him my uni ID but he went on to accuse me of lying and trying to use student discount when I've already graduated. I most definitely have no graduated. We pointed out my unidays is valid until 2027 but he continued to accuse me of lying. We were very annoyed and jusy payed without using my discount and as we were leaving the store the staff member continued to accuse me of lying. Absolutely disgusted by this customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would

We were served and looked after by Anna Maria. She was very warm and welcoming and we felt we were treated like royalty. Anna paid particular attention to our needs and was there as needed. We have been there three times recently and intend to be back again and again. The food was very tasty and good value. Well done team Pizza Express.

Stop serving at 8pm, disastrous service

Fantastic, Anna Maria looked after us and took care of us. She and all the team are really fantastic people. They make our visit really a great one.

Late evening meal, with no expectations but to order an appetizer and drink. Ended up having a pizza, dough balls, and drinks. The waiter, Gyorkem, suggested a pizza, perfect shared size for 2, and dough balls. Great food and drink with a great atmosphere. Needed some ice for our room, and the staff went of their way to provide us with plenty. Definitely would recommend this eatery for a great, friendly, and pleasant night out on the town.

Headed here are the Notting Hill Carnival. Great location for a well known restaurant.

We were looked after Pasquale who was brilliant. He was friendly, efficient, warm and funny. Our large mixed age family group all loved him. Food usual tasty Pizza Express fare.

The pizza was good, but the waitress was awful and discriminated us. She was an old lady from Italy. I was myself born and raised in Italy, Italian is my first language and I am muslim . The waitress heard my pronunciation, when I told her I was Italian, she told me “an Italian dressed as a foreigner though” and added that to be Italian you should belong to the culture, being born and raised there wasn’t enough. Along the lines saying I couldn’t say I was Italian wearing a hijab. When I asked her what did she mean as I could be an Italian revert for example she felt uncomfortable and told me I was right. This behavior is unacceptable and closed minded people like this should be trained better or not left dealing with customers. I never experienced something like this in London and this is shameful. I couldn’t enjoy my food as she ruined our dinner with her comments. I hope this can be looked at properly, to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The pizza is okay, but I liked the place, the location, and the service.

On a rainy Saturday afternoon, a quiet place for lunch. Service is nice. One of us enjoyed a gluten-free pizza, reasonable Ceasar salad. Espresso.

What a great set of staff. They clearly are a good team and this shows with the service and atmosphere delivered in this restaurant. Food tasted great and service top notch. Fully recommend- thanks for a great evening.

No es justo para mí comentar la comida aquí, ya que no tuve la suerte de probarlos. Sin embargo, el servicio, especialmente la actitud del personal aquí, es realmente frustrante cuando te dicen que estaban muy ocupados y puedes permanecer de pie allí en la entrada durante 15 minutos o más para esperar a su disposición de asientos si lo deseas (mientras que el restaurante estaba solo medio lleno como visto por nosotros).

Lovely staff… but the pizzas were small, overpriced and disappointing.

The pizza is delicious and the tiramisu is authentically delightful! We forgot to take a picture of the pizza as we dove into it before thinking. Flavor is A1. Staff work hard and the place is enjoyable to sit and talk. They have coffees, drinks, and specialty drinks. Outside tables and inside seating.

Unfortunately most of the staff were unfriendly and rude in responding to customers, except for one who apologized for what her colleagues did! Even with my children they would get angry at normal children's behavior!! Even when we wanted to add soda she stopped us and said I am not the one who serves your table!!! This is actually my last time in this place, even though I live close to the site! I hope you choose friendly staff and I paid an amount when I ordered and it is not a small amount!

The manager Anna Maria was extremely hospitable, attentive and caring. She welcomed us and took great of us. The food was great and what you expect from Pizza Express. Location is really great especially in the hot summer as you can sit outside and get a great breeze from Regents canal. We told Anna Maria that it was our 4 year old's birthday so they very kindly sang him happy birthday and got him a small cake with candle despite being very busy. Highly recommend. To be honest we used to be regulars at this restaurant but the previous management were not as welcoming/friendly so put us off. We asked for a specialist dietary requirement and serving staff explained everything very clearly and honestly to us. Really glad we did out son's birthday here. Thank you all.

Excellent experience on the first day of traveling to London

Just avoid one bald waiter who finds every excuse in the world avoid slicing pizza (even for kids)!

As in all of London, extremely friendly service. Pizza was very good and cross.

This is my second visit to this place, with my first being two years ago. If you're a pizza lover, this spot is definitely for you, and you can skip the rest of my review. However, if you're considering ordering something else, like the lasagna, I strongly advise against it. The lasagna I received was the worst I've ever had—it resembled a thick soup with just one layer of pasta. I'm not sure why they even call it lasagna. Please avoid it until they address this issue. As for the service, it was disappointingly slow. It took over 29 minutes to get our food, which included the lasagna soup and a Leggera Vegan Giardiniera pizza.

We ordered the following: vegetarian pizza: good Mixed salad : normal salad Prawns: good taste one comment the bread came with it was under cooked. Service was good

I definitely don't recommend this place. if you want to eat at PizzaExpress just go somewhere else and not Merchant Square. The waiter (bald with a beard) is rude, arrogant and behaves as if he worked there as a punishment.

Really outstanding friendly service (Diana), although the restaurant was really crowded I got my Pizza very fast. Quality top, spicy, a large one. It was my third time at PizzaExpress Paddington Basin now and I was always absolutely satisfied. I‘ll definitely come back again!

Me and my wife have just had a lovely evening here while on a city break. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. We have to give a special mention to Diana, our waitress this evening. She was so kind, happy and attentive. We have been to many pizza expresses and other restaurants around the country, but Diana is the best server we have ever come across. I really hope the management appreciates her as much as we did.

I am generally not keen on Italian chains but we were staying at the nearby Premier Inn (very expensive) and needed somewhere close for a family of eight ranging from 6 to nearly 70. The food was very good (expensive bottled beer) and the highlight was the excellent lady from Tuscany who served us. She was very helpful in arranging a change to one of the menu dishes and very good with our grandsons. Thank you very much, it was a great end to our day.

I accidentally ordered a gluten free pizza and tried to cancel it straight away, and was told that they could not change my order because it was after three minutes- even though I tried to cancel immediately. There was no flexibility and I lost £20 on a basic margarita pizza for the sake of a minute. Will not be ordering here again.

After a first takeaway pizza experience yesterday, we decided to stop this evening to eat there and it was a treat. Their pizzas and pastas are very good and plentiful. We recommend them with our eyes closed and will return there before the end of our stay.

Clearly a popular spot overlooking the water at Regent’s Basin we arrived early and walked straight in. The place quickly filled with the pizza is the usual and remains a trustworthy choice. The staff were friendly and service was quick which made the experience very positive.

Ordered online and they didn’t answer the phone when I tried 14 times. Didn’t slice pizza Food was undercooked.

We went here spontaneously on a Monday evening and got one of the last tables. The pizza and the pasta were delicious. Also we received a very warm, attentive and friendly service. We were 2 adults and 2 children and paid 70 £. I think that’s a good deal for London. I would totally recommend!

Good food, great location and ambience. Despite being part of a large party of 15 the service from Pasquale was excellent - extremely efficient with the correct food being served simultaneously. Give that man a medal.
