Late evening meal, with no expectations but to order an appetizer and drink. Ended up having a pizza, dough balls, and drinks. The waiter, Gyorkem, suggested a pizza, perfect shared size for 2, and dough balls. Great food and drink with a great atmosphere. Needed some ice for our room, and the staff went of their way to provide us with plenty. Definitely would recommend this eatery for a great, friendly, and pleasant night out on the town.

Headed here are the Notting Hill Carnival. Great location for a well known restaurant.

Fantastic, Anna Maria looked after us and took care of us. She and all the team are really fantastic people. They make our visit really a great one.

We were looked after Pasquale who was brilliant. He was friendly, efficient, warm and funny. Our large mixed age family group all loved him. Food usual tasty Pizza Express fare.

The pizza was good, but the waitress was awful and discriminated us. She was an old lady from Italy. I was myself born and raised in Italy, Italian is my first language and I am muslim . The waitress heard my pronunciation, when I told her I was Italian, she told me “an Italian dressed as a foreigner though” and added that to be Italian you should belong to the culture, being born and raised there wasn’t enough. Along the lines saying I couldn’t say I was Italian wearing a hijab. When I asked her what did she mean as I could be an Italian revert for example she felt uncomfortable and told me I was right. This behavior is unacceptable and closed minded people like this should be trained better or not left dealing with customers. I never experienced something like this in London and this is shameful. I couldn’t enjoy my food as she ruined our dinner with her comments. I hope this can be looked at properly, to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The pizza is okay, but I liked the place, the location, and the service.

On a rainy Saturday afternoon, a quiet place for lunch. Service is nice. One of us enjoyed a gluten-free pizza, reasonable Ceasar salad. Espresso.

What a great set of staff. They clearly are a good team and this shows with the service and atmosphere delivered in this restaurant. Food tasted great and service top notch. Fully recommend- thanks for a great evening.

It does get busy so the food wait time can be long , but food was all great.

Lovely staff… but the pizzas were small, overpriced and disappointing.

The pizza is delicious and the tiramisu is authentically delightful! We forgot to take a picture of the pizza as we dove into it before thinking. Flavor is A1. Staff work hard and the place is enjoyable to sit and talk. They have coffees, drinks, and specialty drinks. Outside tables and inside seating.

Unfortunately most of the staff were unfriendly and rude in responding to customers, except for one who apologized for what her colleagues did! Even with my children they would get angry at normal children's behavior!! Even when we wanted to add soda she stopped us and said I am not the one who serves your table!!! This is actually my last time in this place, even though I live close to the site! I hope you choose friendly staff and I paid an amount when I ordered and it is not a small amount!

The manager Anna Maria was extremely hospitable, attentive and caring. She welcomed us and took great of us. The food was great and what you expect from Pizza Express. Location is really great especially in the hot summer as you can sit outside and get a great breeze from Regents canal. We told Anna Maria that it was our 4 year old's birthday so they very kindly sang him happy birthday and got him a small cake with candle despite being very busy. Highly recommend. To be honest we used to be regulars at this restaurant but the previous management were not as welcoming/friendly so put us off. We asked for a specialist dietary requirement and serving staff explained everything very clearly and honestly to us. Really glad we did out son's birthday here. Thank you all.

These are disrespectful, bad ethics, this first and last visit, will not be repeated. I think employees enforce to work and never like working.

Ordered via Uber Eats. Pizza had hardly any cheese on it. The base was dry, had to throw it away. Uber Eats were unhelpful and didn't want to know.

Just avoid one bald waiter who finds every excuse in the world avoid slicing pizza (even for kids)!

This is my second visit to this place, with my first being two years ago. If you're a pizza lover, this spot is definitely for you, and you can skip the rest of my review. However, if you're considering ordering something else, like the lasagna, I strongly advise against it. The lasagna I received was the worst I've ever had—it resembled a thick soup with just one layer of pasta. I'm not sure why they even call it lasagna. Please avoid it until they address this issue. As for the service, it was disappointingly slow. It took over 29 minutes to get our food, which included the lasagna soup and a Leggera Vegan Giardiniera pizza.

Had a really good experience here. They were very accommodating when I wanted to swap tables, the food was lovely and the staff where excellent.

We ordered the following: vegetarian pizza: good Mixed salad : normal salad Prawns: good taste one comment the bread came with it was under cooked. Service was good

I loved the calzone. The service was fine, the vibe just ok. Good enough for a local pizza place.

Had an issue with my card payment, but the management where very helpful in resovling the issue.

I definitely don't recommend this place. if you want to eat at PizzaExpress just go somewhere else and not Merchant Square. The waiter (bald with a beard) is rude, arrogant and behaves as if he worked there as a punishment.

Really outstanding friendly service (Diana), although the restaurant was really crowded I got my Pizza very fast. Quality top, spicy, a large one. It was my third time at PizzaExpress Paddington Basin now and I was always absolutely satisfied. I‘ll definitely come back again!

Me and my wife have just had a lovely evening here while on a city break. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. We have to give a special mention to Diana, our waitress this evening. She was so kind, happy and attentive. We have been to many pizza expresses and other restaurants around the country, but Diana is the best server we have ever come across. I really hope the management appreciates her as much as we did.

I am generally not keen on Italian chains but we were staying at the nearby Premier Inn (very expensive) and needed somewhere close for a family of eight ranging from 6 to nearly 70. The food was very good (expensive bottled beer) and the highlight was the excellent lady from Tuscany who served us. She was very helpful in arranging a change to one of the menu dishes and very good with our grandsons. Thank you very much, it was a great end to our day.

Amazing service and good food!!!

I accidentally ordered a gluten free pizza and tried to cancel it straight away, and was told that they could not change my order because it was after three minutes- even though I tried to cancel immediately. There was no flexibility and I lost £20 on a basic margarita pizza for the sake of a minute. Will not be ordering here again.

After a first takeaway pizza experience yesterday, we decided to stop this evening to eat there and it was a treat. Their pizzas and pastas are very good and plentiful. We recommend them with our eyes closed and will return there before the end of our stay.

Clearly a popular spot overlooking the water at Regent’s Basin we arrived early and walked straight in. The place quickly filled with the pizza is the usual and remains a trustworthy choice. The staff were friendly and service was quick which made the experience very positive.

Ordered online and they didn’t answer the phone when I tried 14 times. Didn’t slice pizza Food was undercooked.

We went here spontaneously on a Monday evening and got one of the last tables. The pizza and the pasta were delicious. Also we received a very warm, attentive and friendly service. We were 2 adults and 2 children and paid 70 £. I think that’s a good deal for London. I would totally recommend!

Good food, great location and ambience. Despite being part of a large party of 15 the service from Pasquale was excellent - extremely efficient with the correct food being served simultaneously. Give that man a medal.

The taste is acceptable, not distinctive, I will not try it again I ordered pizza margherita, halloumi, and bechamel pasta. I did not feel the taste of bechamel, but the taste of cheese.

Perfect treatment. Juan Carlos has treated us phenomenally. If we return to London, we will not hesitate to return.

We celebrated our son's birthday party on 10 December at Paddington Pizza Express with around 18 children and 18 adults- Katia (he Manager) and the team were absolutely amazing. They managed the whole party so smoothly and their service was excellent. We really had a great time at this restaurant. Looking forward to celebrate more parties at this Pizza Express.

Really disappointing pizza, very small and mediocre... nothing to do with Italy! Only the environment is nice, to forget

Food up to usual Pizza Express standards, no complaints there and kept the kids happy. Staff were not the best, misses off items for the kids, then compained loudly and rudely to each other in Italian about the tip I left (assumng that customers dont undertsnfd Itaiilan I guess) With the level of service received they were lucky to get a tip at all. With chains the fodd is the food, so its the service that makes the difference, and this was poor and rude.

Unfortunately, we were fooled and we were blamed. We paid the amount of food with a tip added to it without our knowledge or approval for the tip. When we objected, they told us to pay again and we will return the amount of the first bill to your account. To date, the amount has not been returned. They fooled us. Unfortunately, they paid us the amount of food twice with a tip added to it. We are tourists and they took us. Bad idea about this restaurant. It turns out there was a waiter wearing glasses who charged us. Then the rest of us joined in and promised us that they would return the money so that we would pay a new bill again, but unfortunately it was a plan against us.

What a lovely place and lovely food. They were 9 of us and we Really enjoyed our time in there. Staff very friendly too.

Popped here while staying in Paddington for a weekend of sightseeing. A great location by the wharf, at the back of St Mary's Hospital, and Praed St, surrounded by a selection of bars and cool architecture. Also, a lush seasonal vibe from the Christmas decs and tree stretching along the front of the wharf. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

Ricas pizzas, trato amable en castellano. 52£ dos pizzas, agua, 1 cerveza y 1 postre. Hay que dejar propina, aunque con el buen trato y la buena comida esto será lo más fácil.

The food was slow, not very warm, pizza overcooked and greasy. But the most cringeable part of the visit was the staff begging customers to leave positive reviews. Also, a member of the team, beard and shaved head, snarled at me on a few occasions when he walked past me. He had a real issue with customers and is totally in the wrong job.

Our first meal in the UK and it didn’t disappoint. Great service, atmosphere, and the food was incredible. Didn’t expect options of a garlic-infused or red pepper flake-infused olive oil to add to the deliciousness of the pizza. Not showing in pics are the appetizers we had - delicious dough balls, bruschetta, and the star of the show - garlic mushrooms. Thankfully our hotel is close as we may be dropping by again for another meal before we head back home. Highly recommend!

Overpriced pizza place with bland food. Pizzas completely flat - no air in the dough. No spices in the dough, souce nor toppings had we not asked for salt and chili we could have ben eating anything and even with added chili and salt you couldn't taste the claimed premium ingredients. Beer served at room temperature. Heavy traffic of pizza boxes through the restautant as the takeaway food was cut and put into boxes in the eating area rather than the kitchen. Go some place else to spend your money.

It was a lovely experience! One of the best Pizza Express I have ever been to!

The food was ok, not that great compared to other pizza express restaurants I have ate at before. The issue I had was when it came to paying the bill. We wanted to split the bill to pay for what we had each ordered and the server was being funny about it. Additionally, they only applied one of the discount code in the app rather than the 2 separate ones which then made it awkward at the table and I just bit the bullet and paid for the whole amount. What really annoyed me more was when redeeming the code in app the server chose to redeem it on the lower priced pizza rather than the more expensive one making me pay more than I should have. I have been to many pizza express before with my friends and we have never had a issue separating the bills so we only paid for what we ordered individually. This was the first time they wouldn't separate our bills meaning one person had to pay the whole amount. I was very annoyed at having to pay for the whole bill myself and also for the fact that I shouldn't have paid as much as I should have because the server decided to charge full price for the more expensive pizza. I will certainly not be returning again as the customer service here is not great and I will just go to other pizza express instead.
