Pizza Express in City of London, Westminster

I was at the Express Pizzeria on Wednesday the 16th with a friend and a waitress named Alini was rude to me, I was impressed by how a waitress could treat customers like that and still tell me not to go back there.

Most of the plate ate not availble. The mushrom is good but the pizza base itself not good at all. it is very thin and not tadety at all. the service is good and vibe as well .

Nice place in busy area. Portion size was OK and pizza very nice. Atmosphere was quiet too many sad spurs fans as they had just been beaten😂 would go back.

We just had such a lovely experience at Pizza Express in Bishopsgate. The server was great and the food was fantastic. At the end of a busy day it was appreciated. We also benefitted from the kids eat free which made it all really affordable. Well done Pizza Express you are getting it right.

First time at this place. The pizza is not great the service is average I had to go find the staff to tell them I’d like to order after sitting for a while also they don’t cut your pizza even if you ask them to so when you’re sharing a pizza you have to make a mess because even the knife they provide is not good for cutting anything. The reason provided for not cutting the pizza is that if they cut then the pizza might reach the table cold. Will not be coming back here again not worth it.

Exactly what you expect from Pizza Express

We recently dined at Pizza Express, and it was a delightful experience for the whole family. The pizza was incredibly tasty, with a perfect balance of flavors and a crispy, thin crust that hit the spot. What stood out most was how welcoming and kid-friendly the restaurant was. The staff were fantastic with our children, providing activity packs and making sure they felt right at home, which made the meal enjoyable for everyone. Considering it's in London, the value was decent too. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. It’s a great spot for a family meal where both adults and kids can enjoy themselves, and we left feeling satisfied and well taken care of.

Such an amazing pizza express, one of my favourites ever. There was a mix up with one of the pizzas, they didn't bar an eyelid, just made a new pizza. Will definitely go again and do should you!

You always know what you are going to get at Pizza Express, and that is the best pizzas anywhere. Love the food and service here.

Good service and food but tables a bit cramped for us.

If you weren't a pizza express fan like me, think again. Most of their pastas now come with gluten free pasta as standard, and they do a lot of gluten free pizza bases too. Portions are healthy. Their Romana base pizzas are worth trying. I'd recommend the BBQ burnt ends. Restaurant is subtly decorated, but still has a good atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Toilets are downstairs, including lift for disabled toilets. A popular restaurant for solo diners. Less than 5mins walk from Liverpool Street. We didn't need to make a booking for a Wednesday table at 6pm, but it got busy rather quickly afterwards. I would come back here.

Do not sit at the high table to the right of the entrance. The restaurant manager allows people to queue into the restaurant and therefore they watch you eat - all very uncomfortable to be watched and willed to finish. There is a curtain that can’t be closed and supposedly it is impossible to ask the queue to back away from the table. Was offered one dessert for free as a sorry (I was with 3 children) and so that was interesting. Lesson learnt - do not sit near the door or expect staff here to p value your experience in their restaurant. I think it’s more of a “get them in and get them out” type place. Head to Eataly opposite for a much nicer experience

We bought 2 pizzas BBQ Burnt Ends, Sloppy Guissepe and some Garlic Bread last night. It was by far the worst pizzas we have eaten. There was nothing to the pizzas. Almost zero cheese and meats. For £40 it was definately the most disappointing meal we have had in London. Actually anywhere.

The team was super kind, friendly and nice and the service was quick. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious and great value for money. We were absolutely happy and sadisfied.

This is my son’s favourite place to eat , we call it his happy place ! Well we all love it but his really fuzzy and just loves the dough balls and pizza

Gluten free options good place to eat

Ordered delivery, no problems with delivery itself but pizzas were tiny, undercooked, expensive, and sliced by someone wearing drunk goggles using a spoon instead of a knife. Garlic bread wasn't much better, consisting of a puck of low moisture mozzarella slightly melted on top of a disk of borderline raw dough. Don't remember Pizza Express being so bad but maybe this one completely lacks quality control.

Best pizza express I've been to. Sannija and Rassa were awesome and the service was amazing. We were a big difficult group and they made sure everything was 100%

Before catching our flight home I ate here plus 1 - tried & trusted so this was no different. We knew what we were going to get & it didn't disappoint. I had the classic pizza with salad, my son had the lasagna & a garlic bread, washed down with a beer each. The staff were lovely though-out. We had luggage with us so we went with a table behind the door on the left which ensured we were out of the way & didn't cause any traffic jam with our bags. The food was delicious, staff lovely. Also noted they unlike all other restaurants we visited that weekend, whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner did NOT include a compulsory 12.5% service charge - very fair & sound of them which made tipping very easy & generous in this case. Well worth it, whether it's pizza express in the UK or Milano's in Ireland, never disappoints. Very friendly & attentive staff.

Our table of 11 (6 adults and 5 children) was served by Mario, the food was excellent and the service impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he made our lunch so much more enjoyable and relaxed. Thank you !

Do Not order a delivery from this place. There is no quality check before it gets delivered. Got wrong pizza and it was half cooked, just dough.

I wouldn't be Italian if I said that the pizza was of excellent quality and taste. I can say that the staff is kind and friendly. Pizza is what you need to remember what's good about our beautiful country. All in all, we fed ourselves with an acceptable pizza but, perhaps, good for the area.

This Pizza Express restaurant is small with a nice atmosphere. The serving staff we had were very helpful, and despite the restaurant being virtually full, their service throughout was excellent. The pizzas are great, especially the American hottest with an ice cold Peroni or 2. Good value and will definitely be back 👏

People are so rude bad customer service, waiter is disrespectful. Food okay.

The waitress was incredibly rude to us, as soon as we walked in she looked us up and down, perhaps we’re not the most aesthetic couple, and was reluctant to invite us into the restaurant. It was as if we were not good enough to be there. It wasn’t as if the restaurant was that busy on a Friday night so they couldn’t really afford to be turning away paying customers. Her manner continued to be condescending and brash towards us, making us feel unwelcome. We were sat round a corner away from other guests at the back of the top floor of the restaurant. We were sat down with the menu but felt so unwelcome that we walked out.

Delicious food , good service, lovely staff

Waited 30 minutes for the waiters to even take our order and when they did they were blunt and we felt like an inconvenience to them. Then waited for our tap water for another 15 minutes and still hadn’t arrived. After looking around we found staff were standing having conversations instead of checking on us. When we addressed the waiter who allocated us a table, he wasn’t even aware we had been served, told us to wait and didn’t apologise so we left with no drink or our food.

Came here last night with my partner & what can i say...it was simply the best pizza express i have been to! Food was lovely, but what made our visit was our waitress, jessica. What a lovely lady she was so attentive & made us feel so welcome! Thank you Jessica! Will be back soon!!

Having read some of the recent reviews of this branch I was a little sceptical about booking. It was a Saturday night and there were no other branches locally that could fit us in, at the time requested, so we gave it a try. The service was great. The lady serving us was really friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were delivered quickly, as was the bill when requested. Once our food was delivered she came back to check everything was ok and to take another drinks order. The food was standard for Pizza Express, the same as you would get in each branch. The restaurant was really busy at peak dinner time on Saturday night.

The food was good but we were here for 2 hours because it took so long for the food to come. If you are coming here make sure you have time

I recently organized an event for over 50 people at Pizza Express Bishopsgate, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! Despite my changing requests leading up to the event, the managers handled everything with grace and professionalism. The servers, Lucrecia & Hollie, were not only friendly but also incredibly efficient, ensuring that our party ran seamlessly. The food exceeded our expectations, and the venue itself contributed to the overall fantastic atmosphere. I wholeheartedly give Pizza Express Bishopsgate a perfect 10/10 recommendation!

Lovely atmosphere, tasty food and friendly FOH staff and chefs. We had a booking but weren’t asked when we arrived, and we were sat close to the back by the bar and walking area that the staff frequented - despite there being empty tables in quieter spots and by the window for the duration of our visit. Pity about not being able to use UNiDAYS in conjunction with Tesco vouchers - but never-mind, that’s Feedback for the franchise.

I had such a lovely experience! Sannija our waitress was super lovely and friendly, and made a special effort when she heard it was my birthday! Highly recommend both this restaurant and Sannija 🌟

I ordered the dough balls with the dips and they were super good! So light, so fulfilling and so delicious with the dips. We came in just before the last orders were being taken and we got such a warm response from the team at the restaurant. They were quite speedy with their delivery and also made us quite comfortable. They were friendly and specifically Sannija made sure we had a pleasant time. Overall a 10/10 with great food and great atmosphere.

As Pizza Express goes, this wasn't the greatest. The food was tasty, but the doughballs were only luke warm at best. The service also wasn't amazing - good enough, but pretty slow. We had to chase for the bill a couple of times. The staff were helpful enough though. The tables are also ridiculously crammed together - I am a tiny size 6 skinny thing, and I could barely get between tables without knocking anything over! I would choose a larger venue next time.

Περιμεναμε πανω απο 15 λεπτα στην εισοδο του μαγαζιου,2 ατομα εμεις κι ενα ζευγαρι μπροστα μας.Το ζευγαρι εγκαταλειψε πρωτο.Δεν μας εδωσε κανεις σημασια,υπηρχαν πανω 5 τραπεζια αδεια,αλλα κανεις δεν μας ειπε να καθισουμε.Το κατανοω οτι ειναι Παρασκευη βραδυ με φουλ δουλεια, 2 σερβιτορες ειδα στο μαγαζι να τρεχουν.Εμενα μου φανηκε να μην εχουν τιποτα υπο ελεγχο,ολα ανοργανωτα με φοβερες καθυστερησεις.Φυγαμε να φαμε αλλου.

Visited at the weekend and not surprisingly it was very busy. The food was lovely and filling, full of flavour. The downside to the visit was that we felt like we were rushed, a conveyerbelt system. We hadn't finished eating out starters, and the main was brought out to us and placed on the table next to us, ready for when we wanted. Then, one plate was taken away before my friend was finished. I understand it was busy, and the staff was trying to control it, but really, they should serve accordingly

It is a modest and nice place. It's clean and well maintained, and offers a warm atmosphere. Order was taken quickly and food was brought quickly. The pizza is tasty, the coffee a bit weak. The staff is very kind and nice.

The best pizza after a running outing. Rather fast service, always a friendly welcome. But still disappointed that they removed the 'fumo' 😂

Not up to usual standard - staff were unhelpful and rude - food service slow and when incorrect items delivered staff member just said well it is similar and refused to correct there seemed no interest in making the experience enjoyable and little or no interaction unless customers pushed for it Staff seemed indifferent when disabled customers asked for help and offered no assistance

Had great food, always a fan of Pizza express. And our waiter Mario, was fantastic. Amazing experience; however such a shame, the place is packed with customers but only 2 people serving on the entire floor. We had to wait almost 15-20 minutes just to order our dessert. But i’ll still be going back because of the food and the service. 👍🏻 👍🏻

Disappointed with recent visit as although the service was ok and waiter was nice when the order came out both adult pizzas were lukewarm, beer wasn't cold and my daughter's pizza was wrong order. This was recified and mistakes happen but underwhelming experience.

Ambiance très sympa dans cette pizzeria bien située. Service agréable et rapide. Cependant les pizzas étaient plutôt petites et un peu quelconques.

Pizza's waren goed. Echter service kan beter: onze serveerster was bezig de voorraad drank aan te vullen en geen van de andere twee dames hadden oog voor ons. We wilden graag nog een dessert bestellen maar uiteindelijk besloten na 20 minuten wachten maar naar de kassa gelopen om te betalen.

Booked a table for 9:30, only to be turned away at the door because they were surprisingly closing. Also the manager was as useful as a blunt pencil

Food was cold. Nowhere near as nice as in the restaurant :( Plus for the dessert, the pot of sauce had hardly anything in it, wasn't even half full! Overall poor.

Worst service I've received in a sit in restaurant. We waited 30 minutes for a jug of water to come, even longer for our food and when it did finally come, it was stone cold. The waitress offered pepper to which I said yes and she started resetting tables even though there was nobody waiting to be seated before getting the pepper. At the end I asked to use my student discount and she stated it couldn't be used on Tuesdays even though the conditions clearly say Sunday - Thursday. You're better off going to a more independent restaurant than a chain.

Bishopgate, London branch was excellent last night. Mario, our waiter, was helpful and delightful. Cafe Royales were outstanding as usual.

Located very close to Liverpool St station, so (maybe) not your normal Pizza Express. Very noisy, and with tables much too close together. My partner wanted her starter served at the same time as my main - simple you would think, but totally impossible to obtain. Starter arrived, with not my main/pizza - 3 requests later the main pizza arrived. Hopeless service. Having said that, decent food (given type of restaurant etc etc).

Unarguably the worst branch to order online.. they never cared about online ordered customers. They have to understand that those are also paid customers who desperately waiting for their foods. No other branch have this issue. Hopefully the higher management will concern this issue.

I meet a friend at Pizza Express, Bishopsgate, London, a couple of times a year for a catch-up lunch. We met on 7 Dec and were astounded how busy this restaurant was -and they say people are hard up! Thank goodness we had booked for a table as there were people queuing. Service was excellent. We had a waiter who had served us on previous visits. He was pleasant and full of smiles and positivity - even though around us it was SO busy. Food was average - nothing special & quite pricey for what is served, but the restaurant is near Liverpool St main line station so prices are understandable

Wonderful service. Friendly and helpful staff. On a busy Saturday evening, they still managed to get us a table for 4 without us having to wait. Our waiter was exceptional. The food and drinks were delicious. Would definitely recommend 👌🏾

Hands down the worst restaurant experience i’ve ever had. Waited 50 mins for our food (whilst the delivery drivers were constantly in & out), when i asked where our food was, the order hadn't even been put through. Was told it wouldnt be long as its quieter now. Another 35 minutes later, the food came out luke warm. Sent it back, 15 minutes later it finally came back. Not once was we offered a complimentary drink, or anything whilst we waited. I had to ask for them to take the mains off of the bill as I wouldnt be paying in full after nearly a 2 hours wait. Awful.

Tables so tightly packed you could here everything the next table was saying. Both our pizza Luke warm! Not impressed! Booked a table on line, no booking when we got there, even had the confirmation. So disappointing

So, think of your favourite jumper or your best PJs, comfortable. Maybe with some holes in but it just feels good. Voila. ( I don’t speak Italian). Coming back from a football match we needed somewhere with good value that we could trust. Pizza Express. And it was that. Decor? Fairly bland. A few plastic leaves hanging from various pots, clean enough - but you start to think what’s underneath when the Christmas tree has no lights. Staff? Chaotic. There’s loads of them, which might have served as a clue. Why do you need so many? Well, it turned out, because they’re a little all at sea. We began to notice that tables would ask for the bill and when no bill turned up, would put their coats on. That did the trick. After we had paid and we’re putting our coats on a staff member asked, ‘Dod you manage to pay?’ Clearly an ongoing problem. But for all of that- it was good food. It was just what we needed. An annoyance on the side is the take-away moped riders who come in - all the way ( why not hold them at the front door) shouting into phones because they have face masks on - wandering to and fro like nomads without a cause - but we were sat near to their serving space. Did I mention that that should have been the exterior door?? Just don’t let them in shouting and wandering. But good good. Well done the chefs. We have been to this restaurant many times but today service was shocking! We had to wait 35 minutes to order then waited 40 minutes for the pizzas to arrive only to get cold pizza. My grandson is a Diabetic and had taken his insulin so had to eat his pizza regardless it was cold. The waitress was no where to been seen to complain too. There were lots of empty tables unlike it is in the weekdays. I had to go up to pay the bill as no one came near us and when I said about the experience we had she replied oh sorry

While not the most atmospheric of restaurants, this small PE across the road from Liverpool St Station is certainly convenient, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming (and tolerant of a slightly rowdy group of 5 kids aged 8-12). PE is easy to overlook as a chain, but their pizzas remain actually rather good and they're excellent for a gluten free option. Our waitress, Holly, was particularly good, interacting directly with the kids to take their orders with patience and good humour. Definitely a staff member worthy of praise!

Pizza was burnt and tough. Not up to the usual standard when I dine in.

Staff were not around and ignoring tables. They served cold pizzas and when we asked to get some takeaway, 2 servers reassured us it was coming and it was over half an hour when they finally said they will check on them. Really unhappy about this.

Las pizzas romanas son generosas de tamaño y hay variedad para elegir. Personalmente me gusto más la pizza clásica de Giuseppe, que es algo más pequeña con masa mas gruesa. El día que fuimos el servicio fue algo lento, pero había varios grupos grandes en la sala, por lo que no sé si es algo general. El personal es muy agradable. Los precios son algo elevados bajo mi punto de vista, pero en Londres es algo general… Repetiría? Si. Recomendable

Took a long while to get food served, starter was served after main, while main (pizzas) was cold. Clearly they've forgotten about our starter and maybe our order altogether. Generally didn't enjoy the quality of the food, but that might because it was so cold. Wouldn't recommend and won't come back.

Waited an hour for a single pizza which arrived with barely any toppings priced at 18£ unacceptable, service was slow and forgetful.
