Pizza Express in Croydon

I had a lovely experience at Pizza Express in Sutton ! The manager Alberto and his team was super friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The food came out quickly and was fresh and delicious — the dough balls are always a winner, and the Romana pizzas have that perfect crispy base. I also appreciate their great vegetarian and vegan options. A solid choice for a casual meal out. Will definitely be back!

Thought about ordering for collection but decided against it as we like our food hot. Picked this restaurant for ease of parking. We weren't disappointed it was all delicious and fresh.

I went to pizza express when i was a young energetic girl… i am an old lady now and pizza has not yet arrived I have seen people who are bad at their jobs but i must say pizza express waiting staff makes those people look extremely competent

For a "express" restaurant this is a very very slow restaurant. 5min wait to get table in a half empty restaurant. 20min wait to place order 15min wait to get appetizers Another 15min for pizza 10mins to get the bill So it took >1 hour of just wait time, very bad service speed and it was just half occupied.

19th April 2025 Saturday at about 9pm Table for a Couple Walked in, were given Table 63 We ordered 2 Apple Juice (Special Request was one should come with room temperature). We also had Chicken Parmigiana Vibed with the songs in the background too Our very understanding and supportive Waitress was Katharina 😊

Visited today and was seated by a lovely waiter called David. I deducted a star as the waitress assigned to us seemed to have forgotten about us after we got our food, but David kept stepping in to bring us the dessert menus, recommending items and telling us all about the benefits of the app. He was friendly, polite and professional. I always like the food at pizza express, decent variety to choose from and reasonable prices. Now I have signed up to the app I will likely visit more often.

Ordered a pesto pasta for a meal and asked for some Parmesan however they didn’t provide me with any leaving my food not good and being unfinished

The manager Gabor served us and he offered excellent customer service made us feel welcomed and overall we walked out with a great experience would come back soon!!

The pizza was way too thin One of the worst pizzas ever

So I ordered from Uber eats, 2 pizzas for £37. Rip off as it is. Only 1 pizza was delivered and the woman on the phone said she handed 2 pizzas to the driver. The driver was adamant he was only given 1 pizza. Fortunately, we overheard the lady on the phone admit to her colleague that the other pizza wasn't given to the driver. After arguing with the manager, and them advising us to go through Uber eats as it "wasn't their problem". Just like that, the manager agreed to give us the original pizza. I wouldnt usually complain like this but after being lied to, I thought it would be beneficial to write an honest review, considering the dishonesty.

I visited this restaurant for my son's Birthday. It was very good choice indeed, considering food, service and atmosphere. Great place to dinne.😄

I come to this Pizza Express regularly. The parking is free, the staff are friendly and welcoming and acknowledge that we are repeat customers. The food is fresh and hot when it arrives. Restaurant is always clean. I return to this branch as staff are friendly particularly the manager who reminds my kids of Usyk the professional boxer. Staff are friendly and engaging with kids. Would recommend this branch of Pizza Express.

Visted Tuesday and I understand with the school holidays things get busy had to wait a long time to be served food was good it's a shame we had to listen to the manger argue with the member of staff on reception

Great place to go after visiting the cinema. Excellent food and service. Would definitely return but it would be nice if they could get a proper coffee machine that could make a drink extra hot and not just 'as it comes'

How about this for the most unromantic valentines offer. Ok so every deal I have ever seen 241 , discount offers etc have been based upon one person having the offer. Not so at pizza express .. so we took up the £30 valentines offer and the waitress said my wife would have to download the app sign up to get the same. I said how many people order a valentines set menu for 1? Anyway she checked and said they could sort this out at till. When we came to pay first it was £86 then £82 when in fact it should have been £77.30 Turns out they over charged us more and then said we had to pay for one of us not being a member. How many people want to go to a restaurant have a valentines meal and then ask their partner to download an app sign up AND also pay their half of the bill ? That’s the only way apparently to get this correct. This has been really poorly thought out. Food was good and service was good up to this point. Have raised a complaint to Pizza Express. In the meantime watch out for the catches in offers they promote - it’s designed to get you to pay more and spoil what was supposed to be a nice valentines treat. A very poor customer experience!

We held our daughters 4th birthday party here, and both David and his team were amazing! Both kids and adults enjoyed the party and the kids loved making their own pizzas. The team took care of all our guests with great food and drink and the birthday girl loved her party! Definately recommend this place for a party. Thank you David and team for hosting us.

My order was absolutely freezing cold when it arrived. The pizza was soggy. I’d ordered an American pizza and there was hardly any pepperoni on it.

We celebrated our kids birthday party today at Pizza express in Valley park. Dawid the manager was fantastic with the kids and all the kids enjoyed the pizza making activity as well as all the food. It was a very relaxing environment and parents and kids enjoyed the 2 hours of the party. Dawid and his team were very responsive and were engaging with the kids throughout. Thank you for a lovely party.

I really hope they can fix the stock issues, like someone else mentioned in a recent review, lots of items out of stock (bottled water, desserts, even sauce for ice cream out of stock) and not even offered a substitute. Some sloppy amd rude service from a few waitresses. Food however is very good, so credit to the chefs.

The first time we went it was great, great food and service. This time they had run out of beverages (bottled water) which is the most basic and the specific pasta dishes we ordered. Pizza was slow. Very disappointing considering they had none of the item and didn't even do anything to remedy the situation like upsize one pizza when we ordered large on most except one. This is very hit and miss but second time was disappointing. Our first meal was 5* this time 2* is being generous.

Awful. Came here on new years eve with family. Waitress spilt starters over the kids and made them cry. Food went all over the place and damaged my mothers coat. Zero apology from management. Waitress never returned after so had to be served by manager who is rude slow and arrogant. Complained and was told not to be rude. What a joke of a place

Too crowd and noisily as usual. U should shout that someone would hear you, u can’t just talk calmly. A lot of people, u wait your order for about 30 min. But i like that they have loads of vegetarian options

We have been visiting this place for many years. On our recent visit, we received exceptional service from Serena. She was friendly and attentive. Had a few issues with rewards app where she helped resolved promptly. Serena, keep doing what you do, it does make a difference for the dining experience.

I took my wife to this branch as it was nearly 35 years ago that I managed one of the pizza express branches. The amazing thing with pizza express is that the food is always 100% on point and it’s always a pleasure to see the chefs art the making of the pizzas. The starter / mains / desert were delicious and a delight - We thoroughly had a great time with memories flowing and the service was excellent. Store manager Dawid and his staff was exceptionally helpful and made our evening a special one !!! Feisal & Shaina

Went with my wife and mother for a meal on a saturrday evening. Really friendly team including the manager (she had a spanish accent but I dont remember her name) and waitresses, despite being a busy saturday evening. They warned us before hand that food may take a little longer than normal due to the busy period, which we appreciated. Dough balls came lovely and hot. Pizzas could have been a little crispier, but this is personal preference so I have not removed a star!

My partner and I visited this Pizza Express at 21.15 on a Friday evening. We were seated fairly promptly, in what I can only describe as a desolate establishment, not uncommon for pizza express these days. Despite the lack of customers, and the fact that staff were stood at the bar sharing jokes with one another, after 25 minutes no one had so much as asked us for our drinks order. Therefore, we decided to leave and visit the nearby, popular, Frankie & Bennies (I would highly recommend). On our way out, the manager thanked us for our custom. I politely reminded her that we had not actually ordered, giving her the perfect opportunity to apologise, seat us, and take our order. Instead, she smiled at us, and sarcastically said ‘yes I can see that’ and waved us out of the door. An incredibly unusual and rude interaction. Disappointment does not even begin to describe our emotions.

As good as any other pizza express. Good service and food quality. The wait time can be long though (both for getting a table and the food to arrive) so bear that in mind.

For a Monday afternoon this was such a pleasure to go with the family and have such a lovely experience Not to busy and good service and taste good for everyone to enjoy And the added bonus of the kids eat free with an adults meal, means we been able to have a few more meals out this summer holiday 😊

My friend and I visited for dinner on 27 June 2024. We hadn’t booked, but were warmly welcomed anyway, and told we could choose whichever seats we preferred as my friend needed a padded seat. The food was delicious, as usual, and I could choose to omit particular ingredients in my Prawn Peperonata, which was very tasty. Aga was our server, but was also the duty manager, and she was absolutely lovely. She was efficient and capable and went around making sure everything was running smoothly in the restaurant. She was so incredibly kind, warm and friendly towards us both, but she was particularly helpful to my friend, who has mobility issues, and she rushed to hold the door open for us both when we left. We had such a lovely evening in this restaurant. The food was great, the staff were lovely, but it was mostly thanks to Aga, who was brilliant. Thank you so much!

We went with my family for a spontaneous quick meal. The restaurant was under staffed but the waitress who served us really nice and attentive. The food however almost inedible, overcooked haloumi, chilli prawns with very questionable sauce and very tiny ( not the usual ones) and pizzas soggy with oil! Not a very nice experience which we had to pay over £100 ..we skipped coffee and dessert thinking we can not except much after what we had so far. Very disappointed! Anna

They sent the wrong food and I didn’t even get refunded the full amount… I ordered a chicken pasta and got a bacon one which is completely inedible since I cannot eat bacon

Unfortunately the box had not been kept flat and the thin crust pizza arrived having folded half its size and to one side of the box. Temperature disappointing too.

Attended this pizza express shop on Saturday 6. There were 3 x bakers, 3 x floor staff and one lady taking orders. There was 2 of us. We waited to be seated and was left for more than 5 minutes. Two of the floor staff saw us and didn't acknowledge us. The shop wasn't that busy at the time but I have to say POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Food was delivered quickly! Our waitress Lucia was lovely also. Will definitely go back again.
