Brilliant service and food. We were running late to see a film so we told the manager and he expedited our order. Food was ready in 10 minutes.

For a Monday afternoon this was such a pleasure to go with the family and have such a lovely experience Not to busy and good service and taste good for everyone to enjoy And the added bonus of the kids eat free with an adults meal, means we been able to have a few more meals out this summer holiday 😊

My friend and I visited for dinner on 27 June 2024. We hadn’t booked, but were warmly welcomed anyway, and told we could choose whichever seats we preferred as my friend needed a padded seat. The food was delicious, as usual, and I could choose to omit particular ingredients in my Prawn Peperonata, which was very tasty. Aga was our server, but was also the duty manager, and she was absolutely lovely. She was efficient and capable and went around making sure everything was running smoothly in the restaurant. She was so incredibly kind, warm and friendly towards us both, but she was particularly helpful to my friend, who has mobility issues, and she rushed to hold the door open for us both when we left. We had such a lovely evening in this restaurant. The food was great, the staff were lovely, but it was mostly thanks to Aga, who was brilliant. Thank you so much!

A David was really fun. Funny, nice a happy joy. David did a really good job, this is his dream. Wow. We came back again & David was a delight. He showed my daughter the kitchen, answered her every question, high fived us & was extremely generous. The place was immaculate as before & the food delicioso! The kids menu & colouring really appeals and is just right. But my favourite is service with a smile & he remembered us! Such a lovely place & lovely service. See you soon I am sure 🌟☺️😄❤️

Always a lovely experience coming to pizza express valley park. Today Jessica took care of us through the whole experience and made us smile, laugh and receive our order quick and hot. It was delicious! A lovely waitress, this is what hospitality is all about. Thanks Jess <3

We went with my family for a spontaneous quick meal. The restaurant was under staffed but the waitress who served us really nice and attentive. The food however almost inedible, overcooked haloumi, chilli prawns with very questionable sauce and very tiny ( not the usual ones) and pizzas soggy with oil! Not a very nice experience which we had to pay over £100 ..we skipped coffee and dessert thinking we can not except much after what we had so far. Very disappointed! Anna

They sent the wrong food and I didn’t even get refunded the full amount… I ordered a chicken pasta and got a bacon one which is completely inedible since I cannot eat bacon

Unfortunately the box had not been kept flat and the thin crust pizza arrived having folded half its size and to one side of the box. Temperature disappointing too.

It was really lovely from the beginning to the end.Dispite, busy lunch we have been served quickly and officiant. Food was delicious and atmosphere relaxing.The manager seems to work extremely hard helping on the floor and in the kitchen.We will be definitely back.

Attended this pizza express shop on Saturday 6. There were 3 x bakers, 3 x floor staff and one lady taking orders. There was 2 of us. We waited to be seated and was left for more than 5 minutes. Two of the floor staff saw us and didn't acknowledge us. The shop wasn't that busy at the time but I have to say POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The food was never delivered. Called restaurant 4 times no answer despite it not been closing time yet. Shocking customer service, first time I've ordered from Pizza express and last time.

An abysmal display of customer service. First time ordering via Just Eat from this restaurant, order never arrived. Called restaurant multiple times finally someone answered and blamed Just Eat company entirely despite saying our order was still at the restaurant! No apology just repetitive answers to be pedantic, no empathy complete lack of customer services training. First time ordering from this Pizza Express branch and last time!

Whilst out shopping today my wife and I decided out of the blue to have a pizza instead of cooking at home, I'm so pleased we did the restaurant had a nice atmosphere quick service, nice staff we will definitely come back another time.

I have seen the locator of the driver and he was running around but he was not coming with my order . When pizza arrived it was completely cold and the pizza dough was rubbery. It was a bad experience.

David the Manager at Valley Leisure Park, Purley Way made our experience great. What a fantastic meal too, great flavours, authentic taste and fabulous service from start to finish! A great place & atmosphere to come.

Went to celebrate my son's 15th birthday but won't be going back. Asked a manager if we could order more food but was told that the waitress was very busy! I thought that was the waiting staff were supposed to take orders. Confused as to what else they were supposed to be doing? Not the first time we have had a cold response in that branch. The waitress was great by the way - no issues with her.

Popped in for lunch, and enjoyed a lovely meal, cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and hard working, and our waitress Catarina did a great job.

The food arrived late but it was still warm, I ordered at 19.20 & received my order after 20.30hrs.

It was a shame there were some really loud diners near us, who were talking so loudly, we couldn't hear each other, but the staff and the food were fine, fast and tasty. Best padana in years because the toppings were spread evenly.

Food delivered on time and was hot, we did not have to wait for a table.

Today we celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday at pizza express in Valley Park, Croydon. The staff were absolutely fantastic and very attentive, especially David who went out of his way to assist us with my daughter’s birthday cake. The other staff were also superb and the food was excellent as always. Thank you to everyone at Pizza Express for making my daughter’s birthday so special for us all. We will be back again soon.

Went there at 1.30pm to have lunch. The place was empty but was told that I needed to book and the next available time would be 3pm!! Ridiculous!!!!

Lovely friendly staff, so nice that there are plenty of options for vegetarians, food was nice and hot, we were served by the manager Gabor, very polite and we didn't have to wait long, place was nice and clean and the atmosphere was lovely, highly recommend and will be coming back

My son had his 10th Birthday dinner here last Friday evening with 11 of his friends and each of them had the children's menu which is a three course meal. The food was delicious and our server was exceptional all the way through as well as the Manager and other support staff. They went the extra mile for us by cutting the cake and putting each piece in a special container for each child. It was not easy having twelve 10 year olds for dinner and they were incredibly patient with their noise levels etc.

I had an amazing experience at Pizza Express. The food was delicious, the service exceptional, and the Deputy Manager, Dimitris, was outstanding. I highly recommend this place for a great meal and fantastic service.

Went in, waited a while to be seated. Once sat down we saw on the main menu we would need to request the vegan menu. Waved for a waiter/tress to request this. The waitress was very rude and said she was going to get the people waiting at the door instead who have just walked in. Did not even ask another colleague to help us just walked away right after talking. We all got up and left. Not coming back to this branch.

They took my order last minute and they were very friendly and curtious.

Not an overwhelming experience. Took my young niece and nephew for a pizza date. Food was ok. My pizza came lukewarm which was disappointing but as the food took such a long time to get yo the table, I didn’t bother saying anything. Very expensive afternoon at £54 pounds considering my daughter had only a starter and there were 2 kids meals.

Food was great especially the pizzas however, we did wait a long time to be seated, orders taken and the bill brought (in the end we went to the bar). Staff didn't seam like they particularly wanted to be at work.

We visited the restaurant yesterday and we received excellent customer service from the waiters. Food arrived on time nice and hot we did not have to wait long at all. The managers were very hospitable they came to check up on us and he also recommended the Classic lasagne which was excellent, Gabor the GM of the restaurant treated my daughter with an extra chocolate brownie which she absolutely loved it. We will definitely be coming back again next week as we enjoyed our time. Thanks Gabor and team you are amazing!!!

Visited at lunchtime today. I'm a frequent visitor to pizza express (about twice a week nowadays) when I arrived there was only one family sitting down so the restaurant was fairly empty. Our waitress Lucia, was friendly and was patient. However, the chef needs to see this feedback as there were a few issues that ruined the experience. The dough balls were over cooked but we didn't want to make a fuss. It took almost ONE HOUR to have our pizzas made. All 3 pizzas were burnt and the chef had an issue when we refused to accept burn pizzas and requested that he remade the pizzas since we dealt with a burnt starter. He made a fuss and was making loud smashing sounds with the pans he was using around the kitchen. Once the pizzas arrived, our appetites were non existent, we all ate about a third of a pizza each and took the rest with us. I would definitely avoid this branch at all costs as it not a true representation of the excellent pizza express brand. The manager did not come over to apologise once, no goodwill gestures, just stares.

The pizza was dry and very thin, almost paper like. There were barely enough of any toppings except tomatoes, was definitely NOT worth the price. Staff were not friendly and seemed like they did not want to be there at all. Waitress was rude and extremely inefficient and failed to provide a good experience leaving me with a distasteful first impression.

I had to wait a good while to be seated even though I could see empty seats. Staff seem dejected and down in the dumps; being a manager I certainly feel like this is down to bad management of the restaurant. I've never witnessed segregation before until my visit here. I could not believe my eyes to be honest; especially when I was escorted into a very 'white' side of the restaurant. The food was well what can I say; okay at best but took nearly an hour to arrive, lukewarm and very oily. Certainly, not the quality I've had and expected from my experience of other Pizza Express restaurants which is a grand shame considering it was more expensive as usual. I'm unsure whether a manager or just a senior member of the staff, who kept talking with other staff, motioning over to us and giving us not very nice looks at all; several times during our visit from waiting for our food, while eating and again while leaving. The poor floor staff looked very embarrassed and dejected after her interactions. I sure hope it's not due to my friend being of Asian descent with me but seeing other recent reviews I think now it was. Avoid like the plague until issues are sorted at this restaurant. I certainly will not be returning in the near future. There are other options available if like us you're hungry before your movie.

Undercooked pizza with stale toppings and a dash of social segregation. Apparantly management needs to be reminded that we are no longer in the 40s. That being said the casual sexism I've heard the individual I assume to be the manager exercising towards staff was nauseating.

Well where to begin. After overhearing the staff making racist comments about the people behind me, I was finally seated. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and the staff looked unsettled. The guy who I assume was the manager was incredibly hostile to his employees and customers. There was another lady with Red hair who I overheard giving off hand remarks to customers asking where their food was after apparently waiting for over an hour? Surely it can’t be that bad. Well… I’d love to talk about the food except, it never arrived, so unfortunately me and my party ended up having to cancel our order. On our way out we encountered one of the kinder staff members who apologised to us, and let us know in some detail how bad things truly were. We were informed that when customers pay with cash the employees, not management or anyone it should concern, waiters are asked to give customers change out of their OWN money, and are NEVER reimbursed. What kinda sick “@&£ is that? Overall. A horrible experience, a horrible mafia style operation which is an embarrassment to the Pizza Express brand. We can only hope they have the franchise taken away from them. In short; avoid this place if your patience is short and you have good morals. Bun this Pizza Express.

If I could give this branch of PISS-a Express negative stars, I would. Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. Appalling treatment and service by staff there. The pizza tasted like a Chocobo's ar*e and the pasta was sad and bland. Every single order was wrong. Management didn't seem to give a toss or even offer to replace any of the orders with the right item. The manager (I think?) with the red hair who was called over when we had the issue with our orders smelt like they'd showered in garlic butter and had a face like a dough ball.

If I could give less then a 1 for atmosphere I would. Staff treated like actual animals, can only assume the Red haired woman yelling is in management, which is disgusting considering the racism she was spouting. Staff look dead and I can't blame them. Food was both mediocre and lukewarm, I've had hotter food from a freezer. Cannot believe how the staff are treated and if you raise a concern you're told to go do one. Pizza Express? More like An Express way to depression.

Visited this restaurant last night and I couldn’t fault the service at all. Very friendly welcoming staff. We was served by Gabor who was very efficient in every way.

I ordered a portion of dough balls and garlic bread for delivery. The food was stone cold on delivery. Upon speaking speaking to the restaurant they did not take any responsibility and asked me to contact Uber eats since they were the ones delivering my food. The lady even even told me that she’s has been working there for n number of years (how is that relevant and important?) Now I have to put my food in the oven and heat it myself. What’s the point, I might aswell get frozen food from Tesco and heat it up myself. Absolutely pathetic. Anyone ordering for delivery from this place please do yourselves a favour and not bother with them. I’m giving a rating of one star because there isn’t an option for 0 stars

Absolutely shocking. Dropped in for a meal before going to see a movie at the VUE next door. Service was immediately slow, and then our mains (a simple pizza and pasta) took an hour to arrive. We asked the staff to put them in a takeaway box as we were late for the movie. This then took a long time when the food was already ready. Then we asked for the bill, which also took a very long time. Ended up missing the first 15 mins of the film and eating our cold dinner in the car. Raised our concerns with the belief that we were entitled to some money back, to which the staff member responded "That's just how it is when you get quality food and service like at Pizza Express".

We all had a wonderful evening at Croydon valley park pizza express. The vegan/vegetarian options where very scrumptious. I thoroughly enjoyed the tiramisu. The staff where very welcoming, Lavinia our waitress was very thoughtful & caring to point out our menu options,nothing was too much for her.

A brilliant pizza express with friendly attentive staff, top chef and clean restaurant

I’m not normally one to complain but customer service at this particular Pizza Express is abysmal. Would actually complain to a member of staff if there were any around to complain to. Literally every member of front of house staff disappeared after 9.30pm. Had to inform a cleaner that we were still waiting on food. This was after waiting 10 minutes at the entrance for someone to ask if we would like to be seated. The service let down what was actually a nice meal. Won’t be coming here again.

Came here after a diabolical meal and customer service situation at the nearby frankie and bennys as we was both still hungry. We was greeted by a lovely waitress who asked us if we had a preference of where to sit so we opted for outside. The waitress was very friendly, smiling and attentive. We had menus and I ordered a gran reserva bottle of beer which was cold and refreshing. My partner had an expresso martini and it was made really well and tasted good. Our waitress did not rush us and gave us time to look over the menu. We ended up ordering some calamari which was about average for the dish compared to other places we have eaten but the best part was of course the pizza. We shared the la cubana which was lovely and refreshing for a warm summers day. We will definitely be returning to pizza express when we visit the area and cinema again. We can't express our gratidude enough to the lovely waitress that served us, the chefs who cooked our pizza and the whole rest of the team for brightening up our day after a bad start in a previous restaurant. Thank you

DREADFUL customer service. We were put in a seat that we didn't want so asked to move. Bare in mind this restaurant was empty. We were shouted at so decided not to eat. Horrible grey haired man shouted at us , probrably the manager.

Lovely family meal and an amazing waiter Nikolas. Fantastic service, really helpful, amazing with my young three children. Very grateful and would definitely return again to this branch!! Cannot emphasise how superb the waiter was, makes such a difference to your dining experience.

Visited the branch for a family dinner and it didn’t disappoint! The menu is great and we enjoyed the new additions (vanilla cheesecake!!). Delicious food and amazing service . The staff were all very friendly and patient, especially Holly, who I believe was a new employee. Holly showed wonderful customer service, so polite, accommodating and even gave us recommendations. They made our experience great and although I’m not local to this branch, I’d visit again! Please pass on our gratitude to Holly and the team.

We were given 1 fork, 2 knives and 1 plate for 2 people. Our pizza arrived well before our appetizers, and still took forever. Pizza tasted okay. The halloumi bites came out as one blob which we had to share the fork to try and eat. I'm not sure if this is how they are meant to be presented. It was not hot. The doughballs were quite hot, and tasted as expected. Our waiter looked visably exasperated as we ordered. I'm guessing that they are short-staffed, or it was busier then normal. About the only good thing about this visit was the location.

Worst pizza ever seen! first of all they charge me 2 pound for something that i didn't asked to and then they give this "pizza" thin like a crepes honestly i never see a pizza like that one even if it was the largest when i finished to eat i was still hungry.. next time I'll save my money and i buy the pizza into the supermarket!

Food was below average VERY expensive , charged £7 for two cokes! but the white bald guy serving us, shocking service. He picked our plates and food up whilst my wife was still eating, and then bought the bill over without me even asking for it, that is ridiculous i didn’t ask for the bill yet why are you trying to get rid of us out of a shabby quite restaurant. Then came paying the bill he asked give we did not add service charge do you want to add tip, i said no, he ripped the receipt off and threw it on the table, because he was offended for no tip, i have the right to not pay tip. We left the restaurant with no thank you for coming, just a cold response can’t i believe i spent £50 on some bread and sauce. Terrible place, avoid avoid!

Place was clean, staff were very friendly and the pizza chef made us an absolutely banging custom pizza. Highly recommended.

We had a sweet waitress but I guess one of here colleagues decided to help her out by serving the table but with out a consideration for the allergy notice. They served my plate to the wrong person while I was away from the table and I ended up eating a wheat dough ball which ruined the rest of my evening and compromised me traveling home on a 2 hr journey. Plus being a coeliac approved restaurant they should know better. A simple flag in the food could have prevented any of this from happening.

The food was lovely, just a shame that the customer service was soo poor. Waited for 25mins for order to be taken, then sat for 30 minutes with dirty plates in front of us at the end of the meal. Both times I had to ask for service due to wait time.

not happy at all. The restaurant was hardly busy. i understand hospitality isn’t easy but it’s not hard to be polite. Waited 20 minutes to be served and had to call the waiter or i would of been ignored for hours, Waited 25 minutes for drinks and people that had arrived after us had already been served their food. my drink was literally half full up the cup, actually a joke. The food was okay, nothing special hardly any sauce and wasn’t good for the money at all.

Nice little spot. Food comes quickly but beware - chiefs struggle with personalised/amended menu items (e.g. no onions, adding pizza toppings). Individual staff are pleasant but past 2 times I have been there were problems - once they said they were unable to seat us, even though the restaurant was quite empty; today their systems didn't show the payment I had made via the app. Apparently these issues are due to being short staffed and slow computer system, respectively but nonetheless tainted our dining out experience.

When we arrived, the staff wasn’t friendly and were unwelcoming to me and my partner. When we sat down and ordered our food, we were waiting over 45 minutes for our meal whilst others who arrived after us had received their meals. When the meals finally arrived, the food wasn’t worth the wait, small portions and food didn’t hold flavour. Definitely not worth the money I paid. We was also seated in an area where both staff and other people were passing us as well as staff physically brushing past me which wasn’t very pleasant. Will not be returning.
