Pizza Express in Croydon

Pizza was all shapes and sizes was not even cut properly. looked like my two year old made it! And you forgot some of our order No wonder you got so many discounts absolutely shocking :/ people don’t waste your money

Well, orde missing 3 portions of dough balls ordered (c. £15 in itself). Salad had seen better days. Pizza great. I think if had eaten in, would have sent some things back. Shame. Also now have faff of trying to get refund out of customer services..

Missing can of Fanta and pizza not cut.

Ordered smoky bbq chicken pizza, which was lovely. The pizza had generous amounts of topping. The order arrived on time and hot. Would definitely recommend

Was here yesterday with a friend and had a great time! Farook really looked after us and his service was great!

10/10 service and food from pizza express. Very clean, tidy and it was quiet which was nice as it was late 9.30pm. Food came out in 15 mins and the waitress was very friendly. Would highly recommend.

I always order this pollo pesto and it’s arrive and it’s like a starter size portion I’m not happy I want money back urgently

We booked pizza express for a make your own pizza party for our 8 year old daughter and this was perfect for us. There were no other customers which meant the kids could be free to be kids without worrying about disrupting others. The pizza making was very interactive and engaging and this was because of the lovely Leanne and Alex who were very at ease with the children. The kids received delicious dough balls while they waited for their pizza. There was plenty of water and two kinds of juice throughout the session so the kids were hydrated. All the kids got delicious ice cream and the end. Very highly recommended. Thanks for makings a girls day so special.

Really great food and a lovely team who run the restaurant. It's always a pleasure to visit with my sister, son and his children - the team always are so welcoming and never make us feel rushed or seem to mind about the somewhat messy table the children make ❤️thank you 😍x We attended again last Saturday and just wanted to update and say a big thank you to Leane and Forook for their amazing service again. They honestly can't do enough for their customers. Leane is so welcoming to everyone and Farook who was helping from another branch ( Banstead I think he said) was so friendly too. This kind of service is so rare - and you don't even expect it-so it's always a special experience❤️. Can't wait to come back again in a few weekends tine. Delicious pizza, disappointed that it was half an hour late - when I placed the order four hours ahead of time. This disrupted my daughter’s birthday party

Farook and Leanne are perfect. Travelled over 9 miles to go to this branch and had a wonderful experience. kept us entertained and was on point with their 5 mins check in. The food was cooked well and I loved that they helped us set up the app when we need help. Definitely gonna come back again. They are excellent with their customer service and hospitality skills. They are with all certainty the best workers I have met in the branch. Compliments to the chef on duty

Did to answer phone and just eat is extorting me for money

Made an order but the store doesn’t answer phone so I lost my £30 and they refuse to compensate through Just eat

Purley restaurant has the rudest and laziest staff I've ever witnessed.

Had a horrible experience here. I can’t really comment on atmosphere as I ordered online, but as soon as the food arrived it was very clear to see they had forgotten our pizza! (The main dish!!) what made it even worse was when we rang up the reasturant to complain / ask where our pizza was we were just told that it wasn’t their fault, but are pizza express not the ones that pack the order?? So when ticking off the pizza on the receipt, surely someone would have noticed it wasn’t there? We were also told on the phone that as a ‘nice gesture’ they would remake it for us, but we would have to come pick it up. First of all it’s not a nice gesture, as it’s on them for getting it wrong! Second of all, we would have had to drive there to pick it up ourselves which defeats the point of us ordering and paying a delivery fee we will not get back. The food that did manage to get packed was cold and the potatoes seriously undercooked. Very poor experience! Maybe it’s nicer in the restaurant, I don’t know. But please do not order from here, it’s not worth the money!!

a customer had an altercation with a baby because the child refused to eat the dough balls. Started yelling at the baby calling it Caillou and saying that if it doesn’t eat the doughball it would be ‘Cannabalism anyway’ then the same customer turned around ranted to my boyfriend about his chronic gonorrhoea and itchy bum hole then cried to Shakira lyrics cause it was my ringtone I feel bad for the baby

Was so lovely being at the restaurant today. Was here at the weekday and were suggested very good vegetarian options by kind Katia. The food was hot, fresh and flavoursome. Look forward to coming back and enjoying more food

Ridiculously slow service. I spoke to our waitress and asked that all food be brought out quickly so my toddler son wouldn’t wait too long. Instead they served my son’s crudités and waited for these to be eaten before cooking any main meals. Really disappointed.

There was hardly any meat on the pizza. Pizza express are really going downhill with providing value for money

Been here multiple times for birthdays and dinners. The food is very nice, there are lots of choices on the menu, and the seating is quite nice.

Driver didn’t provide all the items from the order telling me to call the restaurant. Restaurant says they gave the items in their hand and they could do nothing. Restaurant admits that the drivers sometimes steal from the customers

Good service, terrible food. Seems like there been cost cutting on ingredients. Eg dough balls half sized and burnt. Strawberries on desert were freeze dried not fresh.

It was absolutely amazing experience, we went there during the lunch time, it was nice and cosy atmosphere, waiter was lovely and funny:) we ordered calamari’s for starter , it was 5 stars , I had a pizza with a goat cheese and spinach , the base was nice and thin , and the last but not least, biscoff sundae, delicious, I will be coming back again this time with my family:)

In the first instance she wanted to hurry us into ordering our starters and main course at the same time. It had been our intention to order the main course after eating our starters. We stated this to her and she insisted that starters and main courses have to be ordered together. I have never encountered this a Pizza Express before. I could understand if we had come to the restaurant not far from closing time but our table was reserved for 6.30. We understood that there would have been a delay between the starters and main course but that would have been fine as it would have given us time to chat. Secondly She forgot one of our drink orders and after much work to finally get her attention we had to remind her of our selection. An error was made with one of our main courses and when she brought the dish and we explained this she "tutted" at the individual concerned in disdain and proceeded to argue with her creating an uncomfortable atmosphere which other diners could see. Third she brought cutlery for nine diners to our table and literally dumped them in front of one of our party to distribute to the rest of our table. Overall we felt that her command of the English language was not sufficient for her role, we had to repeat things to her because she did not comprehend what we said. Her overall understanding of customer service entailed was severely lacking as well. In summary having her as our server was a very uncomfortable experience and spoilt what should have been a convivial evening amongst freinds.

I like Pizza Express but I'm afraid the Purley one was rather tired and lacked atmosphere. It is a converted bank and has that feel about it. That is all OK but the gents toilets were flooded and I found myself standing in pools of liquid (!). It is in a low valley so there may be issues with drainage. Also, I'm afraid my pizza arrived lukewarm and I had to ask for it to be reheated.

Nice place to stop for a bite to eat

Just eat ruined the order sadly, it turned up stone cold where they delivered ordered in the opposite direction first. A normal journey of 5 minutes from the restaurant turned to over 30 minutes sat in a box in a car is always going to ruin to good food.

Demi was amazing, great service, very friendly and helpful with the pizza express app. Lovely Friday afternoon lunch time.

I understand it wasn't restaurant but the drives fault to deliver wrong order which wasn't up to the dietary requirements (gluten intolerance) but apparently we can't rate drivers so it's the restaurant that gets blamed for it.... sorry Pizza Express it's not you it's the people who deliver it

This place had rats, two rats popping out of another room when I went to the toilet. I would stay away. God knows what is in the kitchen. The food was nice, but had I known, I would have never gone in the first place. That was my last time visiting and never again!

I loved this restaurant the pizza is the best pizza I have ever tasted and is better than pizza hut and dominos pizza in my opinion. The Starters are lovely and the Americano Pizza is fantastic. I am happy to have written this review and I hope you can reply to me soon.

I come here fairly regularly. I'm a big fan of Pizza Express and this restaurant does not disappoint. I usually visit off-peak because my family prefer early dinners, therefore I am always served on time and the meals are perfect.

Was the longest 3 hours of my life we got there and was seating pretty quickly but then it took maybe 30 mins before someone took our order then we realised they had added something we didn’t want by accident. It took another 40 minutes to try and getting someone to come over to help us out with many failed attempts to get the attention of staff. The starter took an hour to come out then the pizza took 45 mins to come out and was oily. We had pre ordered dessert which then took another 30 minutes to come after we had finished our food although we pre ordered it. Was very disappointing considering it’s meant to be pizza express and expensive. There was no apologies or offers of free starters due to the length we was in there.

Food arrived but was stone cold

A lovely meal had here on a Tuesday night. Nuno was our server and was working the floor on his own. He was extremely friendly and efficient! Service was quick despite him serving several tables all at once. A great job Nuno! We will definitely be back :)

Lovely lunch had today with my colleague. It was cold and raining outside and as we got inside Pizza Express, it was clean and warm, and the staff were also welcoming. I cannot eat feta cheese so the staff member explained that I could have another cheese instead on the started I chose . Pizza was lovely too. The staff member who attended to us was very helpful and friendly . I would recommend this place for your go to Pizza

Visited last week end and then came back again today with the little one for National Pizza Day. It was quite busy, but service was quick and efficient. Nice pizzas both time, smiling customers, and very friendly manager. Everything you want for this local branch.

Always love coming here for a Pizza. Food consistently good and staff very attentive. Some great new items on the menu too including a delicious aubergine and chilli calzone which was surprisingly low on calories.

We didn’t receive the dough balls they were missing

Food ordered at 6.19pm, arrived 21.53pm stone cold. Tried multiple times to ring restaurant for updates. Driver at restaurant apparently since 6.45pm and when finally on his way seemed to travel in every direction except my house. Took over an hour since left restaurant and seemed to go back to restaurant on a few occasions (I have screenshot of the delivery). Ridiculous!

It's ok, distinctly average food. Franco Manca has much better pizza and it's cheaper. Service was good, but only 3 staff, so they were very busy. Atmosphere was flat, it was lunchtime and we weren't drinking alcohol.
