Was excited about this place. Saw a good looking picture of a stone fired pizza and took a bus and a train all the way from Penge. When I arrived I chose to pay cash. The guy behind the counter took my money, gave me change. Then proceeded to make my pizza with host dirty af hands. While I should have asked him to start over and wash his hands, I’m new here and just took my pizza and left. Still haven’t tried the pizza, hoping his germs bake off before I decide to reheat. Based on sanitation alone, I will not be back. Which is a shame because I’m a loyal customer in search of the best pizza spot in the area.

The food is the most disgusting undercooked pizza I have ever had I would choose elsewhere

I really like the pizzas (we mostly order the peperoni) but delivery time wise its hit and miss. Either its really quick or could easily take more than 1h

Ordered a few times for here and have really enjoyed it. Reasonable prices. The tomato sauce base is delicious. The last time we ordered the pizza bases were a little underdone and defo needed longer, but every other time has been spot on

Worst pizza I’ve eaten in a long time … cheap ingredients and it was basically raw which I don’t know how that’s possible in a wood oven but they don’t know what they’re doing

in the order, I indicated that I wanted a Pepsi drink and Coca-Cola was delivered (the bottle looked very old and after unscrewing it there was no gas) of course the drink was out of date, the consumption date was July 5, 2023

We found a bone in the chicken wrap! My husband unfortunately had it and ended up fracturing a part of his tooth. Went to the dentist yesterday and confirmed that he needs an implant due to the damage. We’re shocked and disgusted! We will be escalating this to Just Eat and through other means! It’s a shame as their pizza is excellent and we’ve been loyal customers for years. However the food is now dangerous and can really harm people. I would AVOID at all costs.

First and last time !Worst pizza i’ve ever had! SHOULD BE BANNED ! Sorry guys but please learn what pizza is then back to business.Good luck

Terrible service. I was regularly ordering from here. Tonight the driver showed up 15min earlier than confirmed time and was unable to open the door… when called the restaurant, the speaker was super rude and unprofessional. Shame, the pizzas were good but the management just being rude.

Only a 10 minute wait for 3 big pizzas and the food was very tasty, kind and friendly staff aswell. Very satisfied and will come back again

This is the second time we have ordered from Wood & Stone and we were blown away the first time and we were not disappointed the second time. The food was so flavourful and they managed our requests for an autistic eater perfectly! Portion sizes are great and the food was perfect!! They have definitely got new customers in us!!!

Really nice pizza place in our local area. Definitely recommend the pizzas and wedges! The service is very fast and the staff are very lovely, our last order was missing an ingredient on one of the pizzas, when we called to let them know they quickly ran out a replacement! One of the worst pizzas we had in a long time. Low quality dough, cheese and toppings. Way to much cheese and the ham is awful. Bad really bad. Still trying to find a good pizza around this area

Food arrived within 25 mins of me placing my order! Was so happily surprised. Pizza was fantastic. Ordered jalapeño cream cheese poppers but there was no jalapeño..... a bit soggy. Will definitely order pizza from them again

After a long conversation he said he won’t send out another pizza because they only use plain chicken. Didn’t offer a different pizza. Just said they’d refund me!! What a surprise over 2 weeks later, & I’ve called them TWICE, still no refund! They just say someone else will sort it! This was supposed to be a treat but what a waste of money! Couldn’t even pull much of the chicken off as half had sunk in! Awful service!!

We have ordered from wood and stone a few times and have always said how fantastic their food was and have gone so far as to recommend to friends. However. The pizza order today was wrong burnt and tasteless, clearly inferior ingredients. Forgot half the order. And quite rude. I can only assume it has been taken over or I hope it has. If not you owners and management need to sort yourselves out.

The best pizza in South London. For past 5 years we have been ordering on regular basis. Quick delivery and lovely food.

Plenty of tempting combinations on the pizza menu. We had a takeaway which arrived piping hot. Only slight gripe was the toppings were a tad too concentrated on the centre and not enough round the edges. Still, they were tasty even the next day

This is the second time we have ordered from here. The first time was amazing! Great tasting pizza and mozzarella sticks. This time was the complete opposite... Bland pizzas that we're barely warm and the mozzarella sticks were burnt on one side and barely cooked on the other. I don't think we'll order again and will stick with a well known,. commercial chain instead in future.

They advertise as having vegetarian options, kind of pointless when they use the same pizza cutters for ALL the pizzas. The halloumi wraps, again all cooked on the same hot press as the meat. the server (although wearing gloves) handles the meat then does the vegetables or keeps the same gloves on and then handles the halloumi. basically there's just constant cross contanimation, so if you're a proper vegetarian, unfortunately for you, you'll be consuming meat of some description. is a shame, as the quality of the food is generally fantastic.

Worst service from any of the pizza shops in the area food is all clearly frozen products none of the staff have any respect and will argue the toss when you make a complaint they never answer there phones I will not be returning especially with the food being like rubber and taste less and if you was too look around the restaurant my god the dirt and clutter is a joke I don’t see how they are being allowed to operate food products not in fridges or cold storage flys all In the kitchen and front of the shop hovering around over all its disgusting and I will be making a report too the food standards agency and also trading standards as this business should not be operating

Hi, and thank you for reading my review of Wood and Stone in Coulsdon. First I want to start off that there is no way to email the restaurant about problems with the order or the food, If they forget an item, you phone up a parent company which deals with it, Not Wood and Stone directly, which I find pretty poor because I want to speak to the company, not a parent company. Secondly, When writing a message when ordering the food, they don't actually do the request. For example, I am in a sheltered household and we have had corona virus, so we are keeping our distance when ordering the food. The request was to send a message to my phone to let me know that the order has been dropped in the porch and ready to collect, no contact. What they usually do, is hand you the food face to face, making it possible to spread the virus. Even the Asda delivery man drops the food off at the step and stays far away. My usual request is chips, mozzarella sticks, milkshake and a double cheese burger. The chips are pretty standard, can't go wrong with those. The mozzarella sticks are hit and miss, some days you'll get large mozzarella sticks, other days you'll get tiny ones, but the quantity stays the same. The cheeseburger can be juicy some days and dry the other days, which can be off putting because it feels like a gamble when ordering the burger. The milkshake is divine, the only thing you'll be safe ordering. I've tried contacting takeaway companies before but nothing really changes, so that's why I'm writing this review, where hopefully, it'll be noticed and something will be done about it for other customers. The delivery time is pretty fast, can't complain about that, always within the allocated time. Overall, i'd rate wood and stone 3/5 due to the food being a gamble when ordering it, and the delivery service being on par with the rest. Food ok but it looks nothing like the photos! Very basic and small portions.... and a tad expensive for what you really get. Pizzas were tiny. They didn't have cutlery despite us having a Greek salad

Had the pizza delivered multiple times and this is easily my top pizza place in Coulsdon these days. It's all sourdough!

No idea why there are so many negative reviews, this has become our new go-to takeaway. Ordered 5-6 times over past few months, quick delivery, excellent quality and great price (if you order from their website)

Do not use if you plan to order - over 1 hour late with no care from the staff at all. Every time we called '10 mins away'. The food was mediocre at best though maybe if it hadn't been wrapped in a bag for an hour it would have been better, I will never know! Will not use again . Avoid - says a person who orders out at least 3 times per week

Not that much which we expect from wood oven

Ordered a few times here..halal too so we ordered the calzones and burgers for a weekend treat. Burgers taste like homemade. Lots of nice flavours and reasonably priced, not the cheapest but not the pricest either. The staff were helpful! I dropped a few stars as we pre ordered for a particular time a few hours before and 15 minutes later had to chase up why it hadn't arrived. Only then it seemed someone set off to deliver but it came within 5 minutes.

My order arrived 1 1/2 hours early and the pizza stone cold. Not happy I don’t think I could order from you again,it’s a shame Being local

Love wood and stone. Always my go to take away. As a vegan, I have an amazing pizza without the cheese and it's great! They also make a delicious falafel and humus wrap. Affordable and delivery is always early.

I ordered off of just eat. It was the first and last time. The pizza was freezing cold which in this instance made it worse. The bbq base tasted nothing like bbq. It was horrible. The chicken was chinese chicken which i didnt ask for, and the bacon wasnt really bacon. It was dry and just horrible. If wasnt starving i wouldnt of eaten it. Never again. Stick to pizza hut or dominos

Tatty looking place. They stole a shopping trolley from Aldi and its constantly parked out the front if the shop full of trash. Avoid!

I was really hoping that the positive reviews were reliable, but, alas, the base was so crunchy that it felt like I was eating biscuit! The topping was ok, but not special.

Delicious made to order food and friendly staff

So pleased I gave this joint another go - since they opened a few years ago they were an outstanding outfit with great dough, amazing tomato sauce and great authentic toppings. In the last 6 months, I think they’ve been playing around with recipes and they fell from grace in my opinion - stodgy dough, undercooked and run of the mill toppings. However, tonight my meat lovers pizza was exquisite - so good - back to crispy fresh dough, hot, on time and cooked to perfection. I’m so happy - please please please keep them like this - amazingballs!

I am not sure why there are so many low reviews for this place.The food is amazing - by far the best take away pizzas. I have even had pizza in Italy and this by far is better.The pizza is loaded with toppings, the base is incredibly tasty and the chefs blended is heavenly.The burgers - super big and tasty.The place does fantastic food and the staff are incredibly friendly also. Love this takeaway - well done guys - 5 stars!!!!

Generally not a Pizza fan but was persuaded so picked what I thought might be an independent, it had lovely fresh ingredients, not mass produced, really tasty! I would think it has to be the best pizza we had in years, certainly in local area,will definitely be trying again. Thank you for lovely meal.

Despite a friendly atmosphere, our takeaway pizzas were not up to scratch. Scant toppings made it quite bland and quite pricey too for the size. There isn't a great choice for vegetarians either.

We ordered pizza from here based on reviews from friends who had visited last year, the order was basic - some of their standard pizzas from the online menu and was ready to collect in 30 mins.All of the pizzas were chewy, tasteless and cold, cant understand the raving reviews based on the pizza we received, only thing i can bring it down to is that the business was sold and now being run by amateurs..If i am being honest, avoid this place and eat down the road at Pizza Express or better still - buy an Aldi pizza, as you wont be disappointed,

I've eaten take away from here several times. I don't normally bother writing reviews but this place deserves all the praise it gets. Pizzas have a great base, they're generous with the cheese and toppings are fresh. Pizzas actually taste of what they're meant to taste of. By far the best take away pizza I've ever eaten, and better than most restaurant pizzas I've had. Just hope they keep up the good work.

Good food. Friendly service. But cramped and sparse seating. Didn't used to be but they have reduced it to accommodate a burger stand.

Ordered online and paid on delivery. Ordered the Florence deal - 2 medium pizzas, garlic bread, wedges and drink. Food arrived within 40 mins and was hot. Just like eating a restaurant pizza in your own home. Good size as with sides. Would recommend the Large if eating just the pizza.

We ordered a pizza from Wood and Stone on the weekend. We were advised that it would take 50 minutes. An hour and a half later we received our pizza which was cold and not what we ordered. Usually cold pizza can taste good, not this time, it was well below average. We asked and paid for some extra toppings which were not added, when we contacted the restaurant to tell them, the staff were rude and told us that they had mixed it in with the other toppings, doubting our integrity. There was no trace of the extra toppings. Try a £4 pizza from the co-op, that's much tastier and better value, better service too.

Nice pizza here. Stumbled across the place but was delighted at the menu food. Small and cosy environment. The Mexican and chicken tikka both tasted great. The manager was very friendly and daver is some good tips.

It's a shame it's changed its business model from cosy diner to generic delivery shop. It used to be packed and buzzing. Now it's a bit of a run down sad and soulless pizza delivery shop.

Chaos ... Well saw the staff moving lights with the cling film ... my girlfriend found cling film in her wrap and I found a chicken bone. When we complained they said they'd be more careful ...

I would advice not to eat here as close friends grandparents was attacked in there home nearby by a women who works in there. As being informed the Wood and Stone continue to have her working there. I think that is disgusting as the poor grandparents were in bed listening to the radio, and was attacked by this vile women who YES! Works in the Wood and Stone!

If clay oven pizza is your thing, you do not want to miss this. This is one of those place that cook pizza in a traditional clay oven. The taste is nothing like your normal pizza joints. Try it, you will like it.

We had had been recommended wood and stone and were expecting a traditional pizza restaurant, we were told they have no licence and that you can bring your own wine, beer etc. It wasn't what we were expecting at all as it is really more of a take away rather than a restaurant with a few very small bench seats and tables. Saying all that the pizzas were excellent and the staff very friendly, they happily gave us glasses for our wine albeit that we felt a bit awkward. Would we go again, yes but for a quick lunch only, if we lived closer we would definitely get take away pizza from there as they are excellent and extremely well priced.

Ordered at about 8.45 on Easter Monday and between just eat and the restaurant the order went missing.. being hungry I was a little miffed but hey! These things happen! Called the restaurant and they couldn't have been more helpful.. the food was here within 20 minutes (pretty amazing!) And honestly... what an amazing meal!!!! The halloumi wrap is to die for!! Will 100% be using this takeaway from now on ps. Thank you for the Worcester sauce crisps.. no idea if they were meant to end up in our bag but it did make me giggle! would definitely recommend this restaurant.. wish I had found it sooner

We ate here as a group of 4 friends and it was a really nice chilled out atmosphere, the service was quick and friendly and the food was really tasty. Pleased we found this place. Have since ordered take away from here and its now our go to place

Went for dinner. Excellent pizza, the best in Coulsdon. Have since ordered by phone and on the internet, and it is delivered quickly and piping hot. The range of toppings is good and varied, the usual classics and some tasty new ideas.

Too many 'family members' there - approx. 8 and only 7 customers - feels intimidating. You can see them preparing the food and that was worrying. The large stone oven was beautiful. Bring your own alcohol as they don't have a license. Toilets not very nice!!!

Went there for lunch today. Quite cozy and very friendly staff who gave good customer service. I will be returning again.
