Pizza Express in Edinburgh, City of

Came here for a meal out with my friend, service was pretty good and got our meal and drinks fast. However, I thought the cheese on the pizzas tasted a lot like supermarket cheese, not that there's anything wrong with supermarket cheese but since I was paying practically a mortgage for this meal I expected the cheese to be good quality. Moving on to dessert I ordered the ultimate chocolate fudge cake which was advertised as 6 layers when it came it was totsy and about 2 layers as u can see in pic. I would've been fine with this if they told me they ran out of the 6 layer version but they didn't so it was more expensive for less which I wasn't thrilled about.

No anti pasta, pizza burnt, poor service, expensive.

My team was served by Monica. She was so helpful and kind. She made our experience at Pizza Express lovely. Give her a raise. 😊

The pizzas had very mean toppings tonight. We all had big gaps of a very dry, thin base (more like pita bread than pizza dough) with no cheese or other toppings. Considering the pizzas were £20 each Pizza Express must be making a huge profit margin. I’ve never been hungry after eating a whole pizza but tonight none of us were satisfied and the prices weren’t inexpensive. My pizza was also stone cold and the female waitress took it away and reheated the same pizza. She was rude and didn’t apologise, just touched the pizza with her hands!? I was here a year ago and the servings were what you’d expect. The male waiter was nice but we had to keep chasing wait staff. Very disappointed.

Went for lunch Macaroni Cheese £18.95 can of Coke £3.95 Total £22.90. Total spent for 4 having a light lunch £85. Make your own mind up the cost to make this and present it would be less than a fiver. Will vote with my feet very disappointing.

The delivery guy didn't care that it's a pizza and kept it vertically. The pizza arrived folded. I wish I could take back my pre-paid tip...

l and my family had a disappointing experience at this Pizza Express branch just now. When I politely asked the manager, Michael ( he said his name is Michael and l could complain his behaviour whereever l like! That was his attitude when l said he was unfriendly and rude), if we could sit at a specific seat (the restaurant was more or less empty), rather than the one he recommended at the back, he rudely told us to go somewhere else. His attitude was very unprofessional, rude and made us feel unwelcome. This is not the level of service I expect from Pizza Express where l have been going several pizza express all over UK! l am also planning to write to the pizza express head office about this incident since it might be a racism issue.

stone cold and brushetta was a soggy deconstructed mess in a box!! that was also cold. was going to submit complsin to get refund but only offered about £4!! The meals cost nearly 20. As ever shockingly bad customer service. Must do better!!

Monday 3rd December went in this restaurant for some lunch. Tables in a mess (not cleared) and was told curtly to come back in 15 minutes. Not very welcoming or particularly polite so we went to Nando’s instead.

The food was great, we were just so surprised (and disappointed) at the lack of service, considering the place was less than half full (closer to 1/3) yet it took us over 2 hours to get thru a meal, most of the time was spent waiting on either our order being taken or the next course to arrive... we had 2 young kids, our orders were simple, there seemed to be plenty staff but they were just sooooooo slooooooooowwwww...

Don't go if you're hungry! We visited the place on a ver quiet Monday evening. Staff works on a pace that is slower than a VAR review. 30 minutes wait for just two pizzas. Most of the staff looked like they really hate their job, including the manager, but the worst seemed to be the young "pizza chef". Just observing him, it's frustrating. He had a miserable attitude. I feel sorry for the blond eastern European lady, who's the only one who tried to be nice, but surrounded by negativity. Pizza is also very expensive for what it is, even when you have 50% off. Never again.

Good food, good prices. Very nice pizzas. If you go a lot, use their app, and after you have been a few times, you can save a lot.

I recently visited Pizza Express and had a mostly enjoyable experience. The food was great, and the dessert was lovely. As it was late, the restaurant was quiet, and the staff didn't rush us out, which was appreciated. However, I was disappointed that there was no ice, making my drinks, especially the mocktail, quite warm. Additionally, the oven had broken earlier, so the fudge cake I was craving wasn't available. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was positive. Definitely recommend the goat cheese pizza, very tasty. Was surprised to find chicken toppings were halal, which was also a pleasant surprise.

Dine in experience a hectic one! Meals very bland and poorly put together if we could give 0 stars we would. The young chef looked utterly miserable. The 1 positive was the blonde lady serving us.

Además, el servicio fue excelente! Desde Adán que nos recibió en la puerta con una amistad genuina a Margarita que nos sirvió con una facilidad real. Fue una experiencia realmente encantadora, e inesperadamente especial. Recomiendo encarecidamente y volveremos. Fue un viaje de ida y vuelta de 100 millas que valió la pena. Gracias 🍕

where is my order?! it now says it is delivered? where is my food!

The manager is absolutely talking rubbish came storming out. We both thought we would go to Pizza Express at Fortkinaird and of course we had our dog with us so we thought it would be perfectly ok to sit outside and not inside with our dog. As we sat waiting a manager came out and told us we couldn't eat there if we had a dog. There were no signs to say dogs were not allowed and also there was no one else sitting outside. We up and left and went a couple of doors down where we were greeted nicely as even offered water for our dog. Would advise people never to go to pizza express and go elsewhere if you want treated with respect. Absolutely shocking way to treat people who were going to pay for a meal. Off course it all comes from the top if the manager is rude and can't treat there customers properly it gets passed down. The staff will think it's perfectly acceptable to treat customers like the way the manager treated us. As poor training very abrupt manager. The manager sorry to say couldn't organise A PISS UP IN A BREWERY. Michael the manager did not explain at all just said no dogs. No sings anywhere telling people no dogs.

Driver ended up in 2 different areas after collecting my order and was miles away food was stone cold and terrible, driver didn’t even have the decency to wait 5 seconds knocked and ran straight away

The place seems nice and the customers (at least the ones that sit outside in July) seem happy but as I primarily sit on the benches outside and mooch of their free internet my experience is limited, you should totally give them a go though.

Extremely poor service. Ordered 3 pizzas, 1 of which Vegan choice, and they arrived about 30 minutes late, cold as just out of the fridge and when I called to ask for an update on the delivery, I was told it's been out with the driver for a while. Instead, the delivery driver told me a completely different story. They messed up the order twice! Definitely do not recommend.

Did place my order at 17:55, arrived at 20:00 stone cold and drink was missing. Delivery kept being pushed back all the way, then could see the delivery guy making several stops on his way. Poor experience overall, don't think I'll order from Pizza express anytime soon.

I love pizza express pizzas, got the sloppy giuseppe and a big bottle of peroni. The kids menu is great value, dough balls, pizza, and ice cream for £7.95. The atmosphere in this Pizza Express isn't as good as some as the others but I guess that's expected seeing as though it's on a retail park. Staff were pleasant enough but not very attentive, didn't get asked if we wanted any more drinks or how the food was or anything which was a shame as the restaurant was only half full. We enjoyed the food all the same though!

Total rip off these days. They seem to have upped their prices by about 25% and dropped the portion sizes by about the same.

Lovely place to take family out for lunch, kids love it. Pizza always tasty. As an Italian born, I can tell you the calabrese Pizza i had here In several occasions was even better then Pizza I ate in italy. Also the honeydew golden ale it's a 5 star beer to go with it.

Not great. I ordered a double cheese pizza, was given a double pepperoni, when I asked the server about the order he said this IS what YOU ordered. My husband heard what I asked for quite clearly. Very busy and a table full of loud kids beside us (not a problem, they were having fun 😊) however I think the server didn't hear and didn't want to admit it. Wasn't rectified so had to eat it. £18 each for a pizza £4.30 for a coffee etc etc ended up a very expensive lunch. Don't bother bringing a wrong order to their attention, eat it or leave it, is the attitude. Shame. Won't go back there.

Rather overpriced. Not very exciting pizza dishes. Unfortunately I was with a young person who believes the hype.

This was as expected. The food is ok - I opted for the margherita, my friend went for the option with the salad in the centre. Not the best pizza I've ever had but as this is a chain, you know what you're getting. The salad is literally a bunch of rocket - it would be much nicer if this was at least mixed leaves. The staff were friendly and efficient. The coffee was a nice. Plenty of free parking, no wait for a table.

Popped in to Pizza Express in Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh on Good Friday . Sam the manager was absolutely fantastic. We’d left our dog alone in the car so he quickly took our order and our food arrived in no time despite the restaurant being super busy . Food was delicious! Would definitely return . Was very disappointed with the portion size considering the price. There was also no cheese in the salad and this was supposed to be added. The portion sizes when eating in the restaurant are what I expected to get. Some of the dough balls were also tiny.

Service extremely slow had to ask for order to be taken. They have an offer on apparently for fifty percent off if you pre-book on their app which we didn't know about so had to pay full price for a pizza that was ridiculously small as that's their way of still making a profit. Two cokes were almost £8!! Again making money so the half price pizza is just a con. Won't be back.

Early for an eye appointment I went to pizza express at kinnaird Park for a beer and a coffee, I ended up devouring a starter, calzone pizza and a coffee to finish, the staff were amazing, I was attended to by a very nice and welcoming guy called Michael, although there were others also. The what could only be assumed as the floor manager was just as good. Food and beverages went down a treat and the fact the staff were all so attentive, courteous and welcoming made it more than worthwhile. Thank you.

Manager needs a personality transplant. Never uses manners or smiles. Delivery staff stand and wait ages to even be acknowledged. Don’t order food from here. Nice they have your money, your food isn’t a priority.

I ordered for collection, once i got there my food was already to collect even though i was 10 mins early. Food was cold. For £15 this pizza was shocking. It was a very small cold pizza. The amount of garlic butter i received was also shocking. I do not recommend getting a take out from this place!! Very angry

the restaurant told me it had been delivered (it hadnt), I waited over an hour and the map was telling me the driver was somewhere else. It appears that I was not going to get my delivery so I went out to buy my own food. I return 10 minutes later to find my order lying in the street and clearly inedible. shocking service won't be using justeat again

Order came early unfortunately wasn’t ours we were delivered an order that was meant to be collected from the pizza express no idea where ours went , called restaurant left message and now 3 hours later still no call back , very disappointing to say the least

Very unhappy. Substituted part of the order without any attempt to contact me first. The substitution provided was plain dough balls without any kind of dip or sauce. Delivery was requested for 1 hour after order was placed and still came 30 mins late. Pizza was cold. Overall terrible.

Great fast friendly service from staff here. Family of 5 all pizzas cooked and served in reasonable time. Gave me a seafood pizza that I didn't order mistake. But they happily replaced and took it off the bill. Would come back
