Pizza Express in Elmbridge

Service was terrible. Wanted desert, waited 20 minutes, wasn’t offered desert, left without desert.

Place is racist. Went with my kids and ordered starters and mains. Sat there for 25 mins and then asked when the dough balls would be ready. Apparently they forgot our order and decided to feed all the other families that cam in after us So I walked out

Walked. In while seeing the place was half empty on a Saturday evening we waited for 5-10 minutes at the door with our 1 year old. Had every single member of staff look at us yet nobody came over. After more time we approached someone and asked is anybody going to seat us? 25 minute wait.... why the HELL didn't you tell us. 25 minute wait is completely fine but when you leave us at the door for 10 minutes until we have to ask. What the hell kinda service is that. Ridiculous.. all the lady had to say was that they were trying their best? joke. Yeah sorry you will never see us again at any of your restaurants 👍

i had a terrible dining experience here. The staff were not proffesional and the service was slow. By not proffesional I mean not showing any good customer service skills. It was clear they were not taking their job seriously. I felt like I was a burden to them. Nothing special about the food considering the prices. It's a shame that pizza express has dropped to such a low level

I would appreciate it if staff could receive training on customer service and communication skills.

Worst place to visit. Service is under average and staff members were eating Macdonalds sitting in the restaurant in front of everyone. never saw something like that before

Very good pizza, better than I expected. You can choose a few different styles. "Romanian style" has a very thin bottom. Can recommend this place.

I got my order taken after I was waving to the staff for a while. The waitress approached me with the hand in the pocket and unprofessional manner. Then I got a drink served front another waiter who had an oily hands so I had to clean my glass before drinking. On arrival on my main I haven’t been asked anything they just drop the plate on the table and even didn’t took my starter plate away. I had to ask the waitress to take it for me. Staff members were sitting in the restaurant and having Macdonalds on front of everyone !!!!!!! The other staff was eating on the side in front of everyone Worst place ever to eat , terrible service. Literally everyone is on their phone all the time . Never had such a bad experience

Visited last night on our way home from Legoland. Seated straight away and it took almost 30 minutes for drinks and that was only because I asked a member if staff 3 times. Slowest service for food and drinks ever! Some of the food was almost cold, but had my 5 year old granddaughter with me and it was getting late, so no time to send the food back. Would not recommend!

I can’t express my gratitude to PE Team! It was an amazing kids party! All 20 kids under full control. Well organised to every little detail! Food came out on the time, freshly done, not overdone. Visited alone as travelling for business. Waited ages to be seated, barely any staff on. Not shown to a table, just had a hand waved and the guy said ‘sit wherever’. Ordered a starter and pizza - starter came, was fine. Shortly after, a random pizza was plonked on my table that wasn’t mine. I asked the waitress if it was a Pollo Ad Astra as I could see it was covered in mushrooms and she grunted ‘yes’ before realising it was for another table. My pizza was tasteless and extremely dry. Not a smile in sight from any of the staff.

Food was the best ive had at a pizza express in a long time But can not fault the service we had today Very busy but spoke to Hafizah on arrival and explained that whilst we didnt mind waiting my son was on his way from the car Hes four with additional needs,hangry and in full blown meltdown and if I could order his food whilst waiting for a clean table so it was less wait time for him.Honestly she couldnt have been more helpful had it on order for us right away and it was on the table minutes after we sat down.Things like this make such a huge difference with a neuro diverse child and made my day that little bit more peaceful Thankyou so much

Very poor service. Noone to greet, took a while to get served. Staff putting on/off aprons constantly. Pizza came with coriander and parsley which was blatant mix up in herbs. Toilet very dirty. Despite being quiet, tables slow to be cleared

We were delighted to find a Pizza Express at Cobham Services, and were not disappointed with any aspect of our meal or the service we received. it was an excellent break from our journey, and we left happy and in a much better mood to continue our struggle around the M25. Thank you Pizza Express.

The food was very good and the service from the staff was great!

Great food and friendly staff but a long wait for food as there seemed to be only one chef in the kitchen. The restaurant is separate and isolated from the main services so has a nicer atmosphere but there is still a lot of noise outside with smokers by the windows at the front and back. Decent enough for a meal on the road though.

Very noisy through staff clearing tables. Prawn pizza had at least 3 prawns cut up to make it look more however calzonie was very nice.

Lovely staff. Outstanding service. The lady with the blonde hair especially nice. Very child friendly. Stopped here for a quick break was an hour from when we got there to leaving. Excellent food.

Very strange staffing and service... slow, looked uninterested and disorganised. One of the staff had their child there with them, and the staff sat inside the restaurant eating McDonald's and KFC!!

The food was very nice and the restaurant was very clean and well run. The only trouble we had was understanding the staff as they all seemed to speak very poor English.

What a haven amongst the usual fast food outlets - highly recommend for a calm meal for kids (and grown ups!)

We were staying at the motel and had an evening meal here. The pizza was large but I managed to eat it! My husband couldn't finish his so had a 'doggy bag' and had the rest for breakfast!! They were quite busy so a nice atmosphere. We didn't have to wait too long.

Awful customer service and ants on the table

Had an absolutely brilliant experience here and so unexpected. On our way back from a nice day out with 7 kids and a puppy we stopped at Pizza Express Cobham services. I stayed in the car with the puppy as it was such a hot day and could keep the aircon on. Staff explained how I could walk around the back with the dog and sit outside to eat. A lovely quiet spot (until we turned up!) in the shade which was just perfect and allowed us all to have a nice dinner together. Staff were quick to get water for the puppy and came back with two more jugs of water for top ups without having been asked. We had bought a birthday cake with us which we didn’t manage to eat while out as we needed to wash hands and get out of the heat - they served it up for us and put a candle on it. The puppy made a mess with food on the floor outside and the staff were really understanding and relaxed about it all. Even helping fill up an empty water bottle for us to take with us for the way home. Such a lovely relaxing experience being waited on by very attentive staff, lovely pizzas and nice cold drinks. I wish I knew the names of the staff but a small lady (she called herself that so hope he won’t mind the description) was the superstar and a dark haired guy with a beard (sorry best description I can come up with) was great - but all in all everyone was fantastic.

It's a pizza express at a service station so our expectations were pretty low. However, one of the best pizza expresses we have been done. Lovely service and very kind to our daughter. Food was hot fresh and brought out fast.

Always forget how good the pizza is here as don't go that often. Not disappointed on this occasion. Expensive but location made that to be expected. Kids meals good, our pizza lovely and the dough balls to start were lovely. Will be going again soon to my local one

I decided to leave a review because we really enjoyed the experience. The staff were attentive and welcoming and the restaurant ambiance very pleasant. You wouldn’t know it was attached to a busy motorway service station. The food came out promptly, it was delicious, well cooked and hot. We don’t go to our local Pizza Express anymore because the restaurant has gone downhill rapidly since Covid, but this one at Cobham made us realise what we’ve been missing. A really good Pizza Express experience, just as it should be. Thank you!

Worse pizza express ever! The waitress ordered 9 of my pizza! They had no sauce for her pasta which was covered in water. The service was so slow

Consistently good food. The placement of this particular one means that you can get a lot of people with children, but that depends on the day and year. Pizza bases are on the damper side, but taste good. The lime and basil sorbet is pretty basil-tasting, so be warned.

The pizzas were all really good. The service was slow to start but improved. To be seated and take order. Then very helpful and good service

Absolutely ridiculous! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Firstly the chef knocked over my sons bottle of drink which spilled on our table, didn’t bother replacing it with another one and we had to clean the table ourselves no one came to clean it or even offer more tissues so we could clean up. Then when I placed an order for their Florinta pizza the egg white was raw! When I complained that I can’t eat it because the egg white is raw the chef said there’s nothing he can do about it and I have to choose another option. Being a vegetarian there wasn’t really much else on the pizza section I could’ve opted for so wanted the same pizza but they refused saying they couldn’t make it because the same thing would happen again and the egg white just won’t cook. I’d like to ask the owner/manager if the chef cannot get the egg to cook properly on the pizza to make it edible it’s edible, why even is this specific pizza on their menu? The chef was rude and didn’t even apologise. I didn’t want to eat anything else from there after that and was really upset by what had happened. It totally spoiled our mood and the bad experience ruined the rest of our day. It was a family day out for my daughter’s birthday which sadly upset us all. I must emphasise the restaurant was very much quiet too so it wasn’t like they were overrun with customers. I’ve been to a few other pizza express restaurants and have had good experiences but this was the worst one and won’t be back.

From the moment we spoke to Fazel, and Elise on the phone we knew it was going to be a great party, but they really did exceed all the expectations we already had. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly team, and taken to our designated party area which they had decorated with balloons, they had created a pizza making station for the children too. When the guests arrived they were taken on a behind the scenes tour of the kitchen, and restaurant, which they loved! The chef then gave all the children a live demonstration on how to make different pizzas, from classic to romana. They were then off to make their own pizzas, they all loved rolling out their own dough and creating their own pizzas. The Children all went to wash their hands, chat for a few minutes then they were all ready very quickly. They were provided with Cordial and dough balls, the parents were able to order refreshments aswell. The pizza is great here too, next time we fancy our pizza express fix we will be coming here. The Chef and Fazel were engaging with the kids, cracking jokes and making it a fun experience for all the children. Afterwards the children were all awarded with personalised certificates, and we all sang happy birthday. The party was very good value for money, entertaining for children age 7-14, each one of the staff made us feel special, and nothing was too much. The atmosphere is lovely there. Olivia our daughter said it was the best party she ever had, we had great feedback from our guests, and our 14 year old son and his best friend had great fun too. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone for their childrens next party.

Great early dinner on way to airport hotel. Kids ate free with adult meals. Food was of high standard and exactly as pizza express should be. Servers were great, quick and wonderful interaction with children. Thank you.

Really nice Pizza Express with lovely, helpful staff. The new menu is impressive and the food was good standard as normal. I know chain restaurants are not (understandably) always to everyone's tastes, but this branch was very well run and our family of four went away full and happy

We were staying at the Ramada Hotel on Cobham services but they don't serve dinner at weekends, hence we walked next door to pizza express and received excellent service and great food and wine recommended by our waitress. We will certainly dine there again.

Awful service. Rude waitresses. Cold food that they were reluctant to do anything about. Almost empty restaurant but was left waiting to be shown to a table for 10 minutes whilst they chatted.

I'd been hoping to try this restaurant out for a little while but hadn't had the opportunity. I was pleased to finally get the time. They had only just opened when we got there so ordered drinks, then starters and mains. Service was attentive but not pushy. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. It was a delight to have a "proper restaurant" at a motorway services. Hopefully I'll get to visit again; their romana bases are the best.

Place is always about to shut no matter what time of day or time of year you go - 3 times this has happened to us now. May as well just shut for good. Shame as our first visit was brilliant.

They obviously had a staffing issue but to be honest they should have not bothered opening. Tables not cleared in the restaurant. They said it would be at least half an hour before our order was taken. No drink order taken as a stop gap either. Walked out after half an hour.

Lovely family meal here. Great deal for 3 course kids meal, great sizes, food was 10/10 and the staff was super quick and helpful. Highly recommend

Came in 19:55 today (17/12/2022) and told It was take away only. I asked why, and the female Indian looking waitress said it was because the chef told them it was take away only as they were closing early. I also went in the day before and was told it was take away only as they were short staffed. Some serious issues at this restaurant need addressing

Popped in whilst my car was charging after a long journey. Had a Pizza Fiorentina. Waited 45 minutes for this. Explained that the ticket machine had broken. Small lady, Italian maybe, lacked personality and her whole body language changed once I was not leaving a tip (Business Account) Wouldn’t return in a hurry.

Terrible. Chicken Caesar Salad with less chicken than a McDonalds chicken nugget. OLD salad leaves. Staff couldn’t care less. Go to Nandos instead.

I had the most magical time, the waiters was so nice to me. There names were Marisha and Slomiya, and they ensured that I was happy and overall made me feel welcomed. And the food was amazing. I will be returning for more.

I had a wonderful experience, yesterday my sister and I came here to dine after driving for so long and the service was fast and efficient, the food was phenomenal and flavourful i especially recommend the Pollo ad Astra .
