Pizza Express in South Bucks

Love the food and cosy vibes, family favourite.

I have come to this place before and it's be great usually.. This time round it's wasn't the best as services was just terrblie... The 2 ladies working on shift didn't have an idea how to run a restaurant, they had the backs to customers, and when they brought the food over, they didn't even brig plates or salt/pepper! This is standard at any pizza express u got to. The food was well over cooked and the pizza was just under burnt, well done. The man you see in the picture, he saw me many times trying to wave down the women who had the backs to the room, and he ingored. I will not be coming back Horrblie experience

I actually didn’t eat here but me and my friends had a flat tyre outside the restaurant and the chefs very kindly helped us change the tyre

Food was delicious and arrived at the table quickly. Service was pretty appalling, I wouldn’t mind if they were busy or appeared to be short-staffed, but there were 5 tables in for the majority of our visit, and 3 members of staff, one of which appeared to be the manager as she had a different uniform on. One guy in glasses was running around seemingly doing everything while astonishingly the Manager did absolutely nothing other than stand and chat to the other woman and chat. She ignored us when we arrived, deciding to prioritise her chat the the other team member while the guy was in the middle of making coffees and welcomed us in. We waited a long while for our order to be taken, so long that we ordered drinks and food in one go. When the starters arrived we asked for some pizza sauce for the dough balls. We’d finished our starters before that finally arrived. When our mains arrived I ordered a second drink, which never came. We then had to wait an age to get the bill and get out. Looking around us the other tables were just as fed up waiting for the bill to be able to leave. Manager was a complete embarrassment and set a really poor example for the team. Like I said I wouldn’t mind about slow service if it was busy or lacking in staff, but seeing her stand and do nothing for the majority of our visit was massively irritating.

I went with my friend to have a dinner, we haven’t seen each other in a while and we thought that this venue will be great for us to catch up . Well it didn’t went how we quite expected. We order some drinks and my friend drink was literally a half glass, plus when we ordered we asked for some water but the water wasn’t served until we asked second time for it. Also we ordered everything to come together and anyway they brought everything separately. When the mains were served my prawn pasta was served WITHOUT prawns then I had to wait again for my meal to arrive! Furthermore, my pasta was extremely spicy and undercooked and wasn’t edible at all and had to leave a full plate on the table and pay for it! Overall it was a quite disappointing experience! POS: The chefs maybe can focus on more cooking less swearing in their native language which I believe it was Macedonian !

I ordered at 16:42 and have waited 2 hours and now the order says it has been delivered but nothing has been delivered. I phoned pizza express 3 times and they confirmed the order was ready hours ago. I am extremely disappointed with just eat. I want a full refund and I won’t be using just eat again.

Below average for pizza quality for the price, overly crispy dry base. Think they need to up their pizza game!

I posted a very honest review of an absolutely terrible experience at pizza express yesterday! For some reason it had been deleted! So here I go again! Our pizzas and potato salad arrived after 40 mins with no apology! One of the pizzas was sloppy and undercooked! Potato salad hard and inedible! I took this up with the waitress who nonchalantly said ‘it is what it is’ incredibly rude I thought! She went on to say many customers enjoy hard potato salad! I think not! I am a big fan of pizza express but certainly won’t be returning to this branch! Please do not delete as this is a very honest review ! Hoping I don’t have to take this further

Very disappointing meal. Starter was burnt and had to be sent back. Pizza was swimming in oil but couldn't be bothered to wait for that to be redone. As a very regular customer was not impressed !!

Service was good, food was good however the manager on shift (I’m guessing because he was useless) looked at the door where people were stood and walked away. Went upstairs ate food and left two waiters on the floor to serve by themselves. This isn’t a manager. This is someone who is getting a pay check to be lazy

Came here twice this week and both times couldn't have a caesar salad because they had no lettuce. Potato salad was not edible because the potatoes were so hard. Service was slow and not exactly welcoming. Very disappointed as come here weekly but don't know if that will happen anymore

Nice pizza, good service, like the app. Good dairy free options. Enjoyed the Bianca pasta and Bosco salad. Maybe make the dough balls warmer 🔥

The lady said that there was no nuts in the Sunday icecream look on the internet and there nuts in the icecream and she ammitted it

My husband and I went here today for lunch! Excellent service and meal which arrived promptly! The young male waiter who served us had a very professional and positive attitude!

I am disgusted, disappointed and horrified by the lack of skills the staff members display. I have visited Pizza express more than three times to dine in and eat. I have been rejected each of those times (while I can clearly see other customers dining in) I have asked why, and I am told by 9pm they don’t dine customers in, so I came today at 8:30 instead and no surprise..I was told now they have changed dining in timings to 8:30? Anyway if that’s the case then why is the customer service it self so appalling? The staff members aren’t welcoming, they aren’t apologetic or resort to a solution they’re beyond rude and arrogant. I have read countless 1 star reviews about this Pizza express and it seriously needs to be looked into. Your staff need training.

The food was as you would expect from this chain.... generally pretty good. The venue is quaint and the location is lovely. The service was a little on the slow side though, not terrible, but could definitely be better.

Too many trainees and undrinkable coffee.

The pizzas here are not good and terrible value for money. Will not return. The GF options seem raw also and is a terrible example of GF food. Really unappetising. Sorry, but very poor.

Food was great and good value for the money

We came for lunch on Father's Day, 5 adults, 3 kids. TBH we left it too late to book anywhere, this was the only place that could fit us in. Our waitress went above and beyond, she was amazing. Kids menu is very good value for money, they enjoyed their food very much. Adults pizza very enjoyable too. Considering how busy they were, they did a great job. Great place to take the kids.

Our experience was poor from start to finish. A very abrupt waitress who almost dropped my kids pizza on the floor and then blamed it on me having too many things on the table (even though it was just plates and drinks on the table with the kids pizza express colourings!) I then found a hair in my cake when I cut into it. She then indirectly accused me that it was my hair as “none of the staff here have dark hair”! When she should have politely replaced the slice of cake instead of making a customer feel they were being difficult. She then towered over me when she gave the replacement slice and asked me to cut it infront of her so she could see if there was more hair (making me feel as if I was under interrogation for a criminal offence)! Just to top it all off she charged me the wrong bill so I had to pay twice and now have to wait 2/3 days for my refund! Never will we go back to this branch of pizza express. An uncomfortable experience for both me and my young children!

Lovely Birthday for my Grandson Beau! Sanja and the team are excellent great food service and atmosphere. I helped open that branch over 20 yrs ago and it’s still going strong 😉👍🏼

So first of all I ordered a cheeky few doughballs which took forever and so did the pizza infact it took so long I felt like I was going to go extinct but somehow I survived but when the food did come out it was pretty good at a fair price and there was a pretty good atmosphere in the establishment but before I finish this review I must warn you against getting the thick base pizza it is a total waste as the thin base pizza is the same thickness but bigger although it does cost slightly more. P.S The waiter gave me an extra doughball what a legend

Booked a table here after a day out with two children, forgetting it was Valentine’s Day - expected it to be busy, but didn’t expect the disaster that followed. Staff said they were clearing a table for us, it took 3 staff 15 minutes to clear the table. One would pick up some glasses disappear and not come back! Then someone would clear the plates and start serving other tables half way through, then a 3rd person came to wipe down the table and lay cutlery! Sat down and said we were ready to order straight away, we knew there would be a wait for food, took stuff another 10 mins to actually come back. Take 15 minutes to finally get a drink and never even got offered a 2nd one! Ordered dough balls and chilli prawns to start. Prawns were a complete waste of money, it was a bowl of chopped up, soggy tomatoes and peppers, with what looked like ONE king prawn chopped into a thousand pieces! Next came the pizzas, one of the children picked up a slice and looked at the bottom and nearly threw up, the bottom of the pizza looked mouldy! I checked the other two, and basically the dough was wet and soggy throughout the middle as it hadn’t been cooked, the staff told me that’s how the pizzas come!!! We went to start eating and the pizzas were stone cold and completely inedible, the dough tasted raw and was chewy. Called staff over and explained there was no way we’d be eating them. They offered to make 3 new pizzas and to cook them for longer! During this time, 3 other tables around us also returned food for being undercooked (in one case still frozen), another missing toppings, and in the other, covered in so much grease it took 5 napkins to soak it up! Due to this another family got up and walked out before ordering as they didn’t want to risk the food, and a 5th table, asked the staff to cancel their order and just paid for a starter and drinks then left. The 3 pizzas arrived 1hr 45minutes after we originally ordered, they were then edible, but the restaurant did nothing to make up for the ridiculous wait, poor service or poor quality food. Went to order dessert, to see the restaurant has hiked up the price of a brownie to £7.45!!!!! I get costs of gone up, but that it uncalled for and insane. Didn’t bother and left tired and fed up. The staff here all appear to have given up, the kitchen is clearly in crisis and no one seems to care or want to take ownership of the problems. Save yourself from disaster and go elsewhere!

Food was slow to arrive, and when it did, it was luke warm. Mains came out at different times, and so did the desserts (10 mins). When trying to grab staff's attention, we were ignored. When we finally did manage to complain, staff members were rude and said, "Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Overall experience was disappointing considering how much you pay. Will not be returning.

The waitress was fantastic and the food was lovely.

Excellent meal served by very friendly waitress. Food was lovely. Everywhere was nice and clean. (Especially the toilets) Noticed 2 waitresses cleaned all tables and chairs after they were vacated. Would highly recommend.

We were welcomed and quickly shown to a table. Our order was taken and the food arrived promptly, piping hot. As usual it tasted very good. The only problem was the Pizza Express app kept returning error codes when trying to apply rewards, voucher codes and when I tried to pay. Eventually the app sorted itself out but it was a bit frustrating.

Please check your order before the delivery. This is a second time my child doesn't get her juice with the piccolo order also the food is cold and not tasty.

Lovely building. Bags of character. The food is hit and miss. Sometimes the pizzas seem rather stiff and burnt.

Had a takeaway. Calzone was undercooked, strangely flat and not much filling. Very unimpressed. Definitely not worth the almost £16 I paid for it. The restaurant also seems like it needs some TLC.

The great thing with Pizza Express is you know what you're getting - great pizza at a reasonable price. Restaurant was nice, staff were friendly.

Very tasty pizzas, managed our group of 17 easily with food coming out at the same time, very impressive. Unfortunately, as we were ordering dessert we had a very terse blonde waiter who seemed to take great pleasure in pointing out and exaggerating that my partner mistook sorbet for gelato as they were labeled together. In general she was quite rude, ruining the experience for us. :(

I highly recommend pizza express beaconsfield. 15 of us including children went there for dinner tonight and the boy who served us was very polite, calm and did not do anything wrong. Excellent service. Food was nice too. Very friendly atmosphere.

Staff were very unhappy and not helpful. When food did finally came out it was burnt.. 2nd time that's happened so won't go back anymore.

Standard pizza express - quick, enjoyable and reasonably priced !

l just received my delivery and instead of a normal size pizza got two kids Pizza. if wanted a kids pizza would have ordered a kids pizza. I'm sorry but that's not the equivalent of a normal size pizza very disappointed, time to find another place for my deliveries Givano was a great deliveroo delivery guy though

Great pizza’s exceptionally well made and full of flavour. Service was a bit hit and miss. At times it was brilliant otherwise you where you ignored. I’d certainly go back again for the pizza.

Lovely restaurant in Beaconsfield Old Town. Excellent service, friendly staff and the food choice was really good. Everything cooked fresh and was delicious. Highly recommended.

What a terrible place- embarrassing for the chain to have such an awful place- we always want to give them the benefit of the doubt but not for once they’ve done a decent job. Usually we wait forever to be serviced and walk out going to either Gerrards cross, High Wycombe or the services as we are fed up with the ignorant staff and the lack of care and delay. So we opted for a pizza collection instead - sounds like a good idea until we collected the pizzas. Much for our disappointment all the pizzas were undercooked and the dough was raw. So we had to cook them at home! Not the same as I’m a proper pizza oven anyway and perhaps best to buy it from the supermarket next time. Shame, great shame!

Worst experience I’ve had in a Pizza express. Manger kept foundling around and left 1 waiter to do all the work. To top it off she gets the order wrong so we only had 1 main between 2 people, which was not exactly hot. Whilst being promised the 2nd main will be done within 5 mins. We waited a further 15 mins, and still hadn’t received the order. In the end we had no choice but to leave, we had finished all our food. Was pointless to wait for the 2nd main, which still wasn’t ready. This is the 2nd time we’ve had a poor experience in this branch. So disappointing for a established brand. Defo will not be going there again !

Nice food, friendly and helpful staff. A bit odd that the baby change facilities were upstairs and regular ones downstairs though. Although probably done as foot fall for baby change is less it is harder to get upstairs with baby/toddler.

Booked a table but still stood at the entrance for 5 mins to be seated. Staff didn't even acknowledge us. Sat under noisy speaker and had to wait for almost an hour before our food arrived. Pizza dry at edge but undercooked in the middle. Have eaten at PE for over 30 yrs. THIS WAS THE WORST PE MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD!!

Very good service and very good pizza/pasta

Friendly, attentive (but not too much) serving staff. Unknown to us the area where we parked was going to be closed by the police at 2pm. She help us by having the pizza served ASAP. Food was good, hot filling.

Thank you Pizza express for restoring our faith in restaurants and people. A lovely evening and we very quickly forgot about the 'private members' belittling giggling squid incident prior to arriving.

As a vegetarian, pizza is an easy one to eat. My partner is vegan and their options for her are good Only problem is the cost of drinks. I think near £7 for a large Peroni beer and wine likewise is super expensive. However the pizzas are excellent as is the coffee so we still go there!

Excellent meal & service at reasonable cost

Terrible service, ordered pasta for takeaway and they provided us with no forks so we had to go back and were refused forks due to them ‘not having any’ because it’s a pizza place, even though they serve pasta. Completely ridiculous & on top of that provided metal top bottles which we couldn’t open unless we had a bottle opener. Id I worked there I would give my customer a metal fork because a happy customer is more important than a cheap fork.

We had a large booking for 9 people on a Sunday afternoon when the restaurant was busy. Our lovely waitress couldn’t have been more helpful. She was so kind to the youngest member of our group (even getting her some extra pasta) and was so attentive to the rest of us. We had such a lovely lunch, food was great and the service was fabulous. Will definitely return!

Wear your thermals. Freezing cold, bland atmosphere. Didn't feel like we were out for a nice meal. Greasy pizza, very dissapointed. Nice waitress but not asked if everything was OK. Would not return.

We went for a causal hungover lunch today in a good reliable location that we thought has never let us down. On entry and asking for a table no real eye contact was made and we were asked to find a table of our own accord. We were rushed to order drinks. Following from this ordered food. Dough balls doppio to start and the waitress recommended for two , fine. Though, on arrival they were tiny! After a quick google we realised they were tiny and not as should be. The pizzas arrived before the dough balls had been cleared and nobody checked to ask if the food was okay or if we’d like another drink until the mains arrived. No check up whilst eating the main either until plates were virtually finished. Paying for the bill we waited at least fifteen minutes for mains to be cleared before asking , and another fifteen for somebody to come and take payment.. in the end we went to the bar. I understand a slower level of service, but it was us and one other couple in the front of the restaurant where we were sat and several staff. Not impressed with the service, the tiny dough ball portion , or to be honest how greasy the pizza (Padana and an American hot) was. I know pizza express is casual , chain etc.. but for a quiet Sunday I would expect better service and attention. Won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Find it is a bit hit and miss, last visit was great, but had to return a pizza as the dough was still raw underneath, this was sorted by the lovely staff. More recent visit- very busy, we waited over 30 mins for food and there were a lot of take away orders going out so it felt like the kitchen had too many orders and hence the delay for us in the restaurant. Food was not as good and I think the oil for the fryer needed to be changed sorry!

No measures taken by staff against COVID. What ever your views may or may not be on COVID restaurants have a responsibility to their customers and as a business need to try and stay open. We went there on New Years Eve as a family of 5 and not a single staff member was wearing a mask. Kitchen and waiting staff breathing on your food, waiters standing above you as they take your order spitting all over you, your food and your table. In stark contrast the Giggling Squid almost next door have staff in masks and visors. One business trying their hardest to protect customers, the other saying effectively we don't give a @@@@ if you get infected. Hopefully Pizza Express will be excluded from any grants and business allowances moving forwards. We won't be going back.

Always good quality food in these restaurants. Bit disappointed that they couldn't get the right number of main meals for our group first time so someone had to sit and wait for there's to be made after everyone had got theres. Surely they should be able to match the number of meals to the number of people.

Great Restaurant, good food with friendly staff

Not great overall. Staff were attentive and atmosphere quite relaxed but these are only positives from our dinner. Food very average, prawns tasteless, pizza soft and oily- not good. Also the whole venue looks tired and needs renovation.

Heating was off despite it being middle of November. Waited at our table for 15 minutes but nobody came to take our order so we left cold and hungry.

We stopped at pizza express at beaconsfield after a long day at a car show. Sat down straight away which was fine. got drinks and food ordered. There was a large group of people celebrating a party and the staff was always with them signing...

I visited the amersham branch of pizza express last weekend. When our food came I asked to return my chicken caesar salad as it contained rocket and that isn't stated on the menu. The chefs reaction was pretty disgusting. Shouting slamming the bowl down and having to be told by the manager to make it again. Was shocking behaviour. Giving me terrible looks. Let's just say I won't be returning there.

After a long time, I decided today to eat at Pizza Express Beaconsfield Services (M40). I know that in the Summer, they introduce a new menu with new dishes - and I was not wrong. I ordered their new dough balls with Pesto as a starter and their Spinach and Egg Pizza. I have to say that I am a very fussy eater and with enjoy my food to what I have asked. My server was a lady called Yasmin and she was simply brilliant!! Eager to help, listening intently to my requests and wonderfully smiley. The order was given and the chefs began. I received both dishes and I wS blown away!! The Pizza and dough balls cooked to perfection. Two of the Best dishes I have ever written. This shows me how a combination of excellent listening skills by a terrific server and the implementation by 2 superb chefs can turn a normal food trip into a hugely memorable one!! May it carry on to next time. Thank you so much Yasmin and the 2 chefs for delivering a stunning service and end product. I am a very happy man today😁😁.

Visited here for lunch. Friendly staff, nice and clean restaurant and service was quick. Highly recommend the new Polo Italiano pizza with the bechamel base, it tastes amazing!
