Pizza Express in South Bucks

Really good experience at pizza express. Went with 6 kids/teens during half term with grandparents. Staff were really friendly, service was excellent, and as always, good quality food. I tried the Bruno, which I would recommend. We appreciated the kids eat free offer. Pizza Express, you hit the mark again!

Came to redeem a pizza via my O2 priorities reward and free dough balls and was told over the phone by the manager and another colleague that I could collect it in 15 minutes, but once arrived they told me otherwise and refused the reward! Awful customer service inside the restaurant and awful customer experience with a total waste of my time driving to collect. Will never be attending a Pizza Express again. All these other negative reviews below shows how bad you are! Shameful.

On 05/01/25 our family thought of using pizza hut G cross for our lunch ' I have used been to this place a lot of times 'it is this reason re visited 'i got a shock to note orange juice at 3.55 per little glass chichen wings 3 plates 25.50 glass of house wine 250 ml 12.25 and sprite 3.85 these prices are astronomical even for G cross gentry 'this is in comparison to hotels bars and eateries too 'mend your over zealous prices 'to continue before long it may not be viable suggestion '

I ordered a collection order via Deliveroo of pasta bolognese, mozzarella sticks and dough balls. The food was not prepared properly. The restaurant was a lot busier than I expected and however I don't think you should be accepting online orders if you don't have the capacity to fulfil them properly. The pasta was cold and undercooked, and the mozzarella sticks did not have honey on even though they were advertised as honey mozzarella sticks. I contacted the restaurant but they said as the order was made by Deliveroo, they couldn't do anything. They offered a free starter (purchase required however) but refused to do anything about the main. I said to them this wasn't good enough. Money is not handled by them but the food is and they did not do their job properly, nor did they bother to conduct quality checks. Since they overbook, and do not have the capacity to cook items properly and as advertised, I would recommend you avoid this place. The food is really horrible here and if there are problems, the staff will not put things right. I always give a location a chance to rectify any issues that may arise properly before leaving a review of my experience and in this case, they didn't really care. There's also a lot of food safety concerns with this poor service. EDIT - Their reply made me believe that actually DID want to put this right, however I have contacted them as requested and they completely ignored me. Every reply to a review is a facade, they're so fake. They really don't care.

We went here for a family New Year's Eve meal. Even though the restaurant was really busy and there wasn't a lot of staff we had a great experience!! The manager was super friendly and was really great with the kids! We had to wait a bit for our table but the staff were really apologetic. Our food came out quick considering it was so busy! Thank you! You all work extremely hard!

Worst pizza restaurant I’ve been to. An hour and half wait to get a Pizza. Restaurant should be called Pizza Slow. Better to buy a pizza in Waitrose and put it in your oven at home.

The venue was lovely and the staff were great. Service was a little slow but it was clean and tidy. Prices were about average.The food, however, was disappointing. Not very hot, pizza bases were oily (supposed to be thin and crusty) and decidedly average. Unwilling to revisit any time soon.

A great pizza - definitely worth using the Pizza express app

Arrived with my daughter on Friday 22/11/2024 by 4:30 PM, an extremely rude and unwelcoming lady told us that we would have one hour to eat as the restaurant was fully booked, then she told us “it’s up to you”; however when looking online we found that was plenty of availability. We went to the Beaconsfield restaurant instead, we received amazing service. I will never return to Pizza Express Gerrard Cross

Large group of us attended last minute, and Vicky managed to put together a table for us quickly. The service throughout our time here was perfect, positive attitudes from the staff especially Ilyas and Vicky who served us and dealt with any minor issues swiftly, made us all feel very relaxed, food was served timely and hot, overall a great evening well done!

Would rate the service 0 stars if I could. Firstly when we entered the restaurant, this younger female waitress constantly kept looking at us whilst we waited to be given a table. Half of the restaurant was empty anyway, so it’s not like there was no space for us. She constantly had eye contact but ignored us. It was until a long wait after, another waitress noticed us and gave us a table. The first female waitress who kept ignoring us, constantly kept looking at me throughout the whole time, as if she was blatantly ignoring us on purpose. She was not even busy doing anything, just stood in a corner. After long waiting, we were finally asked for our order and finally being served our food. After we finished our food, we had our hands up to ask for the bill, as Parking time was getting close to the end. It was very obvious we was waiting and asking. A male waiter then had eye contact with us 4 times and straight away looks away, and pretends he didn’t notice us. It took us a long while to finally get the bill. Overall those 2 waiters were absolutely appalling with their service and attitude. Not the customer service attitude they should have with their job. And honestly reading these other reviews; I am not shocked. Seems like a normal thing here…

Lovely waiter nermin! amazing food as always.

Would give 0 if I could! Very bad service today at this particular restaurant. There was one waitress when we walked in who wouldn’t take our order and told us to wait till somebody else came. A young boy turned up later in his jacket and rucksack and went round the back and then we had to wait another 15 minutes before he came out so in total we were there half an hour or so before even a drinks order was taken from us. After this, we placed our starters order, half way through starters we placed our mains order. We were waiting 45 minutes already and there was no sign of food, and our mains never turned up. When we went to ask the manager, who was behind the food counter, with no hair net on, very (unhygienic!!!!) we were told it would be another 20 to 30 minutes. Our food hadn’t even gone in yet! No apology or anything, just abrupt! At this point our parking was running out as parking around that area is not great. We explained that nobody had to come over to us and told us that our food was delayed, which I feel is very unprofessional as somebody should have at least told us what to expect. At this point we asked for the bill, our server was Elyas. When the bill came I asked Elyas for the managers name as the manager has had not once approached us to apologise for anything, and even when we asked her about the food just gave us an abrupt answer of 20 to 30 minutes. Elyas refused to give us the managers name. I said that this was not inappropriate as it’s okay to give the manager’s name but Elyas refused and said he would not give us the managers name so we have no idea what the manager was called, but the team were poorly managed and the staff were incapable of Working through the lunch hour . It was a despicable experience, one I’ve never experienced in any restaurant before. Not happy at all! We didn’t get anything in return. No effort was made at all by the manager or staff to make us feel at ease or tell us that they were sorry. Nothing was taken off our bill as a way of apology. We paid for our starters and drinks and left very hungry and disappointed. Will NOT be visiting this restaurant again.

Customer service was awful. It took them 30 minutes to come and get our drinks order. We were there for 1 and a half hours, and we still had not received our mains. When asked how long the food would be, we were told another 20-30 minutes. We had to leave as our parking was only for 2 hours. There was no apology for the delay and any signs they were rushed off their feet. Also the manager decided to help in the kitchen but didn't have on a hair net or apron. This was disgusting customer service on all levels. Maybe they should invest in more training, even the manager as ahe was very rude and abrupt.

Oct 1st- Served by quite a miserable waitress with the enthusiasm of someone attending a funeral. Quite ironic that this happened the day the law changed and staff now keep their tips but thankfully the 5 o’clock shift started so we got some one professional afterwards. A very helpful female manager helped us sort out our discount after app troubles.

6 of us for a family birthday meal. We are a difficult group as we have 1 lactose intolerant 1 Gluten Free and 1 Vegan. Staff are very attentive to ensure nobody gets the wrong food. Service is great and all food correct first time.

The pizza I had was delicious, and the staff were very attentive to all our needs. Esepecislly Narmeen and Roza, who both went out of their way to support our 12 month old daughter with her allergies. Would definitely come back again!

Didn't fancy a pizza so I went for the "Prawn Peperonata". It was awful. The sauce was not made from fresh ingredients but tasted like it came out of a tin. Also, there were about 4 or 5 small prawns. See my photos and the photo PE show on their website. Notice that there was no "fresh parsley or a slice of lemon" not that that would have made any difference. For £15.95 is was not worth it. The restaurant was empty (3pm Saturday) apart from a table that has two women with three children.

Very Satisfied. Excellent food, wide range of Italian pizzas, pastas, salads and more. Nice atmosphere, plenty of tables, so I don’t always worry about getting a table. Great to go with family and friends, reasonable prices and excellent quality.

Love coming here! Staff are amazing especially with my son. We were served by Freda today who was so helpful and adjusted my order to what I asked for, As some of my favourites had gone. She gave me recommendations and suggestions. The staff are so attentive ..Freda, Genta, Elias and Sonia always greet people with a smile and nothing is too much to ask. There amazing with my son as he can be a handful and as a lone parent they make sure I'm OK too. B calls them his friends always gives them a hug hello and goodbye. They never let it distract from there work and guests, they take the time with him which I think is so lovely. X If he could help them he would. No other pizza express compares to this one. We've been coming to this branch for 9 years now and we don't like to go to others as when we do we end up disappointed. These guys should show other restaurants what customer service is all about, we have not found a good one, we so like and prefer this branch because of the staff/ team/ chefs are always so welcoming, friendly and hard working. We ended up staying longer and ordered another drink. Loved the lime and basil sorbet. Thank you x Head office-- these guys need a pay rise...and teach your other branches how it should be done!

I was here yesterday and the food was amazing the shift manager Navmeen was so nice to us as. The food came on time and was cooked to perfection. It was busy but Navmeen still made the time say hello and make good conversation giving us a lovely experience.

My wife and I had a late lunch at the Gerard’s Cross branch recently. As always the food was delicious and the service exemplary, in particular Vicky who was friendly, polite and efficient. Parking is never a problem. We regularly visit this branch for the above reasons and will continue to do so.

Did basic. Gluten free pizza leaves a lot to be desired, half the size of regular pizza! Busy Sunday, takes not cleared around us.

I came here with my wife and 2 kids earlier today and the food as well as the service was great. The manager Vicky was so nice to us and dealt with us perfectly. My daughter is having a party on Sunday, so I asked Vicky some questions about it and she explained how everything will happen which was nice of her. My girl is so excited for the party!

Service was shocking. Waited 10 minutes to be seated, no one cleared dirty plates off the table after the starters just left them on the table even when they served the main courses. One side was not what we ordered and the staff seemed reluctant to correct it.

Haven't been to GX Pizza Express for a while. Had a meal for 5 with starters, Pizzas and desserts. Decor is lovely, restaurant is super clean and the team are epic. We were served by Xhevrije who was kind, caring and and excellent server. She made our night. We'll be back sooner because of this experience.

Lovely atmosphere, very busy over Xmas/new year holiday period when I visited. fast service & great staff. The pizzas & dough balls were delicious & the starter mozzarella bites were much nicer than I expected. Staff knew how to use the rewards card app & you can use Tesco Clubcard rewards which is handy as the prices do seem to have gone up recently. 2 x dough ball starters, 2 x margarita pizzas, 1x mozzarella bites & a Diet Coke came to £44.90 but it was delicious

We had an amazing time in the Pizza Express at Gerrards Cross today. I had organised a pizza making kids party here and the staff here have been amazing in organising everything really well. They were all friendly and accommodated all our needs. The manageress in charge even provided a couple of ice creams on the house for siblings of kids. Would defo recommend this place for a kids party and the cleanliness and quality of ingredients was really good. The kids had a great time.

We held a kids party there recently. The staff were amazing, especially as a group of 7 year old can be 'challenging'. There was only one waiter serving all the customers, not fair on the waiter or the customers. Also we ordered a large pizza for takeaway and we received a small one!!

Really I think is the best pizza i have in any pizza express, very tasty, juicy, base very crunch. 10 of 10 definitely recommended.

Won't accept Tesco clubcard vouchers. Which was the whole reason we went. Got to the end of the meal, came to pay the bill with the vouchers and were told that they wouldn't 'go through' despite them clearly being in date. They said it's a common issue. If it's a common issue, you need to ask people before they sit down if they are wanting to pay with vouchers and if so, check that they will work. It's completely unacceptable.

Hadn't booked but managed to get a table for 2, staff were very helpful and polite. Paid once received our food so we could leave once we had eaten. yummy pizza, quick, warm and a good size for two people sharing with a side of garlic bread. Slightly higher prices but expected for dine-in experience.

Won't rush back. Standard pizza is the size of an ordinary plate, not impressed for around £14. However, that said pizza was well cooked and tasty. Even in the early evening it was full of kids and babies and was very noisy.

The staff are just the greatest Update: I've been coming here for at least 5 years if not more. The food is always amazing and fresh with lovely staff I wouldn't go anywhere else. The pizza express rewards app is also the best rewards app hands down of any restaurant chain. Original: Lovely quick pleasant service and always a spare table. Nice reasonably priced food as well.

Terrible service. The table was booked for 9.45 pm by the restaurant and when we turned up we were rushed to order immediately by a very rude waitress and then the chef's started to fight within themselves and it was too loud. All the guests were distressed by this unprofessional and hostile behavior. They said no to desserts saying the kitchen is closed without giving any warning. Terrible customer service, would not recommend to anyone to go here. Totally disappointed.

The Gluten free option was like a biscuit. Also forgot one of the groups meal altogether, which added a further 15 minutes to a fairly extended wait.

We stopped here after visiting the Stranger Things experience and as I would expect this Pizza Express did not disappoint. Good quality food, good service and a nice restaurant environment. I love the pizza express app because as well as seeing your bill, you get freebies if you sign up. It’s a great incentive! The staff were friendly and helpful and I even got an Affogato (which wasn’t on the menu). The restaurant is situated on the third floor of the Brent Cross shopping centre, which has a good range of shops and good free parking available.

Thank you so much to Genta, Frieda, Karlo and I quote the 'Albanian chefs' for making us feel so welcome on such a cold and dark evening. Our slightly dishevelled group was warmly welcomed with smiles and delicious food! With thanks and love from the London to Oxford 100km walking team. Your pizza filled our bellies and kept us walking throughout the night! We're pleased to say that we successfully reached Oxford the following afternoon.

A really good pizza express, the staff here were just lovely, they went above and beyond for us as we had a birthday in our group they brought us a free cake and candle to celebrate and really looked after our group. Food was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant!

I always find Italian food at Pizza express as amazing and delicious as I ever could ask for. Their Bruschetta Originale to Pizza Padana, Pollenta sticks to Tiramisu....each and every item we ordered, was top of the chart. Ambience was classic and Staff was so polite and welcoming. Washroom was clean and tidy. Luckily we got the parking in front of the restaurent otherwise parking is the biggest issue if you want to go to Pizza express at Gerrards Cross, Bucks. Overall experience was welcoming and I would highly reccommand this restaurent.

We got delivery & to their credit, delivery was fast, but the pizzas were absolutely terrible. Low quality bread, stodgy sauce, not enough cheese (it was mostly bread & sauce) and looked nothing like the photos displayed on the pizzaexpress website. Ruined our night & it hurts that I had to part with money for pizzas that were so disappointing that they made us sad. Overall, extremely low quality and overpriced 'pizza'. We won't be ordering here again.

Very disappointed, the pizzas aren't presentable, don't have enough cheese and look nothing like the pictures that they promote on their website. Will not be ordering from here again. Gordon Ramsay would throw these straight in the rubbish.

Took my 8-year-old for a treat on a Friday night to Pizza Express, GX. We had no booking and the place was heaving with hungry customers. They did not disappoint. Here, they truly put the ‘Express' in Pizza Express. We were swiftly seated and our food arrived within 5-10 minutes of ordering. Children's menu is great for occupying little ones (though it would be handy if it came with a crayon/colouring pen). Children can have a main course, drink and dessert for £7.25 and there’s a good selection on the children’s menu. For myself, vegetarian options were rather limited, with a lot of veg. options on the menu being spicy. Being an admittedly fussy eater, I stuck to the trusty Margarita. Predictable and delicious, it was nicely presented, and portion size was good. Entire meal and two drinks was under £23. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, especially considering the number of people he was serving. Parking was not so convenient as it’s a High Street restaurant and there are limited spaces outside. We parked at Tesco and popped in for a few odds and ends after – just a short walk away. Would thoroughly recommend Pizza Express GX. Great value for money and overall pleasant, relaxed evening out.

Lovely space, great food, and welcoming staff. Kids menu is great, with a decent choice. Attached activity sheet is enough to occupy my 7 year old for some time. The staff were great, I’ve always felt really welcome with my kids here. As well as usual excellent friendly service, my son was able to go and make his own dough balls, with a chefs hat, and chef showing him what to do. Extra special when delivered hot to our table. Great extra service they are able to offer when not too busy. The food was excellent (as usual) but it’s the friendliness of the service that really made this visit stand out.
