Today, March 6th, my family and I had a very joyful evening at Pizza Express. It turns out that the menu offers a children's meal where kids can make their own pizza. They had so much fun and enjoyed their food. The head chef - Pitty introduced us several different pizzas and various snacks, especially Bruno (pizza), all of which were a delightful surprise. On top of that, the friendly and attentive attitude of both the staff and Head chefs made our evening truly memorable. There were also other customers celebrating their children's birthdays, and the whole restaurant sang birthday songs together, which took the experience to another level. We sincerely thank the staff and Head chef at Pizza Express, and we will definitely be visiting again! 🎉🎉🎉

Pasta was very chewey, not much sauce or meat

Ordered via JustEat - had waited 45 minutes after placing the order before the order was cancelled via the app. I rang them and they said they had no drivers. Didn't get any money back because JustEat make it furiously difficult to do that - £35 in your pocket and no pizzas for us - avoid ordering here via JustEat or ring up first and see if they can actually deliver your order before you give them your money.

Shocking food cold on delivery salad soggy and paid for dough balls that said they was free

The app shows order ready 7pm and when went for collection I was told I have to wait for 15-20min. Poor experience

Overpriced and not great. The pizza was very expensive especially for what seemed like a pizza you could get at the supermarket

I had the dinner with my daughter yesterday night. Food is tasty and high standard. The lady chef and bronze hair lady server is brilliant. Ordered Romana Garlic Prawn Pizza and my daughter ordered Kids Meal. Definitely will come back.

Paid over £100 for pizzas. Restaurant was rude when asked after 1.5 hours where food was. Said been ready she’s just no drivers! Pizzas came incorrect, cold and like rubber. Complained but no one cares! Last time I will order from here

Very quiet early on a Friday lunchtime but staff were great, attentive and made sure to check we were ok regularly but also gave us space. Came with my toddler and baby after a baby class and didn't feel rushed, foot was good and good value for my toddler.

Pizza Express have consistently good food but the atmosphere can be horrible with a sloppy manager, like my last experience in Manchester. Today with a new manager, Jen, in Stockton Heath the experience. was oustanding. The place is tight under her leadership and the music (from an official playlist) playing at a reasonable volume. It is amazing how one person can create a warm, friendly, attentive atmosphere with excellent service.

Shocking delivery been waiting hungry for 1:30h and the time of the delivery was keep changing. I’ve tried to phone them nobody was picking up, I had the cancel the order after nearly 2h with Just-Eat because it would never show up. This is not customer service, won’t be ordering again. This place should be ashamed and close, you don’t gamble with customers time/money. Ridiculous!

Pizza was cold when it arrived

Never had such a terrible pasta meal in my life. My wife's meal was cold when it arrived, also I first choice meal was Lasagne and they didn't have any. An Italian Restaurant with no Lasagne!!!!

I suspect the lateness was down to Justeat's systems/finding a driver

Yesterday, we held my son's birthday party at Pizza Express. We ordered a variety of pizzas and other dishes, and each one was a delightful surprise – incredibly delicious. The staff were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere in the venue was very satisfying. The quality of the food was particularly outstanding, even better than other pizza places. A big thank you to the team at Pizza Express for giving my son an unforgettable birthday party!

Courier said they was very lazy at the restaurant! The pizza was not cut up plus stone cold and the mozzarella sticks was burnt yet still stone cold?

We have been to this PizzaExpress before, however the service had been lacklustre. This time, however, the waitresses were excellent. They were attentive, helpful and engaging. They engage with my nine-year-old daughter and had a chat, and helps us with the app as the app wasn’t playing ball. Everything was great, except a few problems – the pizza was burnt. We highlighted this to the waiter, he said “it’s a bit crispy, it was more than a bit crispy – it was burnt. – The app didn’t work. We ordered the three course meal, which would come a discount if you were a club member. We were both club members but were charged high prices. – my daughter was charged an extra £2 on an orange juice, which was included on the Picolo menu. We wouldn’t have ordered the orange juice otherwise, as it wasn’t very good anyway and tasted very watered down PizzaExpress needs to be improve quality control around the pizzas and the quality of the app. Other than that we had an excellent time and it was a lovely atmosphere. The food did taste great but we had to cut off the burn bits – not good!

We had lunch with the kids yesterday, and Alison and Pitty made us feel so welcome! The service was super friendly, and the kids really enjoyed themselves. The BBQ Burnt Ends are still my favorite. We also tried the Chicken Parmigiana, which Pitty suggested, was really good too. Overall, an awesome meal!

Amazing service. Came in late on a Sunday night and they still went above and beyond to serve me and didn’t make me feel bad that it was late. Always a consistently good standard of food and will go out their way for you! :) Thanks so much

Disgusted. We'd booked for 7pm but on arrival were told that an unbooked party were likely to be occupying our table for 30mins to 1 hour. Staff recognised their error but had no solutions and were miles out of their depth from a customer service perspective. Awful and embracing for the brand. Will steer clear in future.

Food was cold & not nice. Dough balls were vile. Lasagne was like slop. My daughter said her pizza was nice though. Also delievery driver was loveky & apologetic.

The staff are nice and the service is great!! He even helps me to login the pizza express app and free us one mac&cheese! The food is fabulous! Place is clean and cosy. Definitely will come again!

I ordered on Just eat chicken wings which were undercooked and slimey. Pizza with caramelised onion had raw onion instead. Part pizza was missing topping, cold and not even cut into slices. Delivery driver passed it on like football so food was all over the shop. Very very poor.

For the amount of time it took to even process the order I would have expected the food to be piping hot and freshly cooked. However, it was all cold and needed to be reheated in the microwave which resulted in the dough balls being too hard to even eat. I was far too hangry to call and complain but I was extremely disappointed and will not be ordering from here again.

Never had a bad meal here. Food is always top class and the customer service is excellent. Polite and attentive staff. Nothing felt like any trouble. Can’t wait to go back.

Staff were so nice to our excited children, letting them get their own menus and chatting with them. All our food was delicious, we will definitely be back.

Food was on time but I have honestly never had Italian food that was that bad it was awful everything I ordered was not what I was expecting gutted never again

Booked a family meal on a Tuesday night got my daughters 13th birthday. Previously had a poor meal here but thought it was a one off so tried again but it was worse this time. They had ran out of lots of food that wasn’t pizza. I had prawn pasta which had hard bits of pasta on it and we ordered the potato salad which we were told want available and were presented with a bowl of cucumber and potato instead! Pizzas okay but not up to usual standard. We didn’t have pudding or coffees for this reason. Poor compared to other branches- one person seemed to be running it all. Won’t return now

So glad we chose PE tonight. We didn't fancy a large main course, so instead we went for 6 starters - Dynamite dough balls, honey dough balls, halloumi bites, mozzarella & tomatoes, rainbow slaw and bruschetta. We were also given complimentary olives BC of our wait, even though the food came very quickly! We were served by Alison and Olly from the kitchen was helping too as they seemed short staffed, but service was great, which shows great teamwork! The food was delicious and I think PE should seriously think about a tapas option in future. Would highly recommend and thank you Alison (manager in training) 🥰 x

food was burnt my husband had to drive it back. they were however really good about it and gave a replacement straight away

Portion and size was not specified in the offer. Qualitywise food is good. Driver did not follow instructions given in the order and knocked on my neighbours door.

Worst experience ever,avoid it at all costs,I’m a disabled person and I just found out about too good to go,ordered for me and my family,got there 5 min before the pick up and they cancelled the order in the LAST MINUTE leaving us without food for the evening,this was the worst feeling in my life being treated like that

The pizza and dough balls were delivered fine but when we sat down to eat we were very disappointed. The pizza and dough balls were very cold. I don’t understand how this can be given the restaurant is 5 mins drive from our house. I can only assume the order had been sitting waiting to be picked up and delivered, probably in an unheated area or the order was not in an insulated bag for delivery. Very disappointing for what is normal a great place to eat. Will reconsider if ordering here again.

We arrived 5 minutes before opening and where quickly seated by the server. Honestly one of the best servers i have had the pleasure of meeting, he accommodated us to no end even offering to lower the music volume for our new born upon arrival.

I don’t normally write reviews, however when we first came in we were immediately told it was a 45 + minutes wait due to large parties. The restaurant was at 25/35% capacity with no party larger than 6, upon this we told them we didn’t mind the wait & we could just have a few drinks in the meantime and the hostess told us that was great. After 20 minutes we ended up leaving due to the staff seeming to ignore us, even though we hadn’t even placed a drinks order yet, due to the staff’s incompetence / disregard for customers they had admitted 20 minutes earlier. Terrible service, need to change before their franchises collapse’s, despite the usually great food from other franchise’s, which has kept them going so far.

We were looking forward to meeting up as we used to always eat here so decided to revisit it as was always so good!! Well that has changed so much, pizza was good but 2 of us had the leggera and the hole in the middle was massive so hardly any pizza basically. So we were still hungry after eating it, and the prices are sky high for a pizza place, certainly not a mid priced meal out anymore. We were all shocked. The puddings were average and one was still frozen in the middle and the drinks were expensive, overall we were all very disappointed and will not be going there again. Staff helpful and attentive

Food is fine, standard Pizza Express. Service was awful. Best described as apathetic. Once seated waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order, so ordered food at the same time. Drinks arrived 15-20 minutes later, only just beating the starters. Took a while for main course to arrive. Before it did we asked for some more drinks, the server said yes then disappeared. She seemed to potter around but had clearly forgotten. When the main course arrived 10 minutes later we asked again for drinks from the manager this time and he took our order. Finished food after 25 minutes, no sign of the drinks. Eventually the manger walked past the table, realised the drinks hadn’t been brought and apologised. Said ‘a bottle of peroni and a Fanta wasn’t it’? No, it was a glass of Chardonnay and a Diet Coke. Thankfully this arrived shortly thereafter. We waited 15 minutes, no one came to clear our plates despite it being half an hour after we had finished. A table to our left similarly had finished eating but plates not cleared. By this point the restaurant was maybe 1/4 full, the staff are emptying the dishwasher and putting glasses away and tidying menus. But not really serving people. We were going to order dessert but couldn’t face the wait. So asked for the bill. After only 5 minutes they brought it! Won’t be going again I’m afraid

Disappointed with Pizza Express. Cheese covered only 2/3 of the pizza and the extra pepperoni I paid £2.50 was non-existent.

This food has not been delivered and the status has showed as delivered for over 10 minutes. Please advise.

Nice food and gorgeous desserts

I had this exact order in another branch last week it was incredible, today I ordered it and I’m extremely disappointed, pizza has so much sauce on that it looks like a muddle puddle with a few onions thrown in there, when you pick up a slice every topping slides off leaving you with dough and sauce and a pile of topping in the box, dessert has hardly any toppings and a lotus biscuit still in the wrapper thrown on top. Presentation = 0/10

Expected delivery was changed twice and when food arrived it was barely warm - £40 for late, cold food

We were given a warm welcome by the pizza express team and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They were particularly sweet to our young son who was visiting pizza express for the first time.

The standard of their pizzas has changed dramatically over the years and not for the better . This was our 2nd visit and felt let down again .there will nit be a 3rd time

Pizzas weren’t cut, la reine had no black olives on. Chicken Caesar salad had no sauce and the egg was just whole, not sliced (salad was £14+) really disappointing

Just brilliant staff, all of them. So accommodating, even when pushed way beyond our original booking numbers 12-20! I could see in the manager’s (I think) face it was a massive ask, but she smiled with integrity and giggled, then said it wasn’t a problem and informed her team of the changes. I knew it would be a stretch, but I honestly didn’t expect such an authentic and warm response, and instantly felt reassured. Quite brilliant actually, if I was minted, I’ve have dropped you all a £100 each for being so prof, warm open beings with sparky minds! Very many thanks, who’d have thought you could play such an important role in society while working at Pizza Express - helping reconnect families, after a difficult 33 year break? Be proud, continue to blow minds, pizza or not! Yes, I’m open to the possible idea of acting/selling my experience to the marketing dept. But if you copy the idea without me/us, I’ll let everyone know 🙄. Oh, the food? Pipping hot, despite our numbers (nice work btw!), and to the same good standard that, in my experience, Pizza Express offers across the country - don’t judge, they’ve been around for ages, and yes, I’ve been around a bit.

I was invited here by a business connection to combine a meeting with a quick lunch. I found the restaurant to be a lot better than I expected and the staff were very pleasant and professional.The food was very tasty and served quickly and efficiently.

The food is great but the service is beyond slow. I ordered a takeaway (1 pizza and some dough balls) and it took 1hr and 12 mins to come out of the oven. I ended up going myself to pick it up and sending the Uber delivery driver away ( he was there waiting too) so I didn't want to wait even longer. It would have been nearly 1.5 hours otherwise It was a Thursday and there were only 10 people in the restaurant and I saw at least 5 members of staff. It's really put me off ordering again. Saving grace is that the pizza was really nice and my daughter loved it. And as I ended up picking it up myself it was still hot when I got home.

Took well over an hour from ordering to it arriving, even though it was ordered before 4pm on a Tuesday. I understand there was bad traffic but it must have left the restaurant really late too and it was only one pizza.

Zoe and Oliver gave us amazing service today, the food was great delicious and consistent as always. They were busy due to a nationwide promotional offer but both members of staff were brilliant ,still taking time to play with my little girl and dealing with the app crashing with a smile on their faces.

I just want to say that Zoe the manager is a breath of fresh air. She’s amazing with my kids and is always happy to help. Thank you so much, you’re now the reason we come back!

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT order from here if you have children waiting for food. The delivery times are always wrong and none more so than today. Tried to cancel said I couldn’t as preparing. Watched the order and it took another 20 minutes to start preparing. I could have have cancelled with no detriment to them. For such a big company - awful service. Will never order from the,pm again. BEWARE OF SUPER SLOW SERVICE!! Not the drivers fault.

Booked a table with grandchildren and myself service was appalling. Nobody knew what they were doing. He got there on time and other people arrived and served before us. Children were excited to go with grandad but I never ever go there again. A few quality for the children was poor and far too expensive. The manager had a arm and a sling and was very dispositive myself and the children

Went for lunch with my parents, pizza was amazing, Zoey was our server and she was enthusiastic and extremely polite! Very attentive and took care of us! Even when struggling on the app to apply the discount she helped us through patiently, would definitely reccomend as the romana pizzas are crisp and fresh! Thanks Zoey!

I love this Pizza Express. The manager is super kind and all the staff we've dealt with have been super friendly and attentive. The food is always incredible and the atmosphere is cozy.

Wanted to post on here as the service we had from the team was exceptional last night, we popped in for a family meal after our daughter had received her A-Level results. Beyond doing a sterling job in serving us (and helping us 'digital nitwits' to apply our tesco clubcard vouchers), they both took the time to talk to our daughter about her results and what she had planned etc, and offered up a load of genuinely helpful post-A-level advice, which was gratefully received. They were engaging, good fun, and couldn't do enough to help. Frustratingly we didn't get their names, but they're a credit to the the company, a credit to themselves, and turned a 'nip out for a pizza' night into a really lovely experience. I hope this review filters through to them. Food was great as always, by the way!

Absolute farce! A big group of school kids were leaving primary school and we all put our choices in the previous day. My son had the kids menu and I was charged for a large pizza. When I queried it I was told he had an adult meal. I went over to the table and the kids all said no, he had the kids. The difference in price was almost double! I then had to wait while I explained it to the server who agreed, and the manager. She then went into the back and I had to wait over 10 minutes and go in twice while she was on the phone to explain I couldn’t wait any longer as I had to get home to the baby and 3 kids were waiting… it was ridiculous. They’d left a new manager in charge with no authority. She took my number and I waited for a call as she said she would refund me in FULL. I rang the next day and was told I was refunded the difference. Not good customer service at all… ruined what should have been a lovely occasion
