Pizza Express in Peterborough

Had a lovely meal with my grandparents after the cinema. We arrived at 1 and it was a bit loud, but it soon quietened down and was very nice. The menu is huge and there were so many options - great vegan and vegetarian food. We also got our food relatively quickly which was great considering how busy it was. It was a bit cold inside though, even with a coat on. All things aside, i had a fantastic lunch and will definitely be returning!

Another great visit for lunch. We received a warm, friendly welcome when we came in. Karolina was excellent in attentiveness and making suggestions for differnt items off the "new" menu. The Romana Carne and Padana pizzas were recommended to us by Karolina and they were great suggestions. I had extra red chilli's on the Carne pizza to warm it up a bit as I usually have an American Hottest, it was damn fine with the different salami's. Donna came in over to our table (9) and came to see how we were and how the food was. Vlads food was very good. An excellent experience and this restaurant and team are highly recommended!!

Had another visit to pizza express yesterday night. I loved the changes of colours and decorations. It does make a very big difference on the atmosphere. It was lovely. I had my favourite, padana on a romana base and they have absolutely smashed it this time.

We visited Pizza Express in Peterborough as a family of four, with our two girls, and had a wonderful experience. The food, as always, was fantastic! Our daughters absolutely loved their spaghetti, and the dough balls starter was a big hit with them too. For us, the pizzas were delicious, just as we've come to expect from Pizza Express, and we also enjoyed a couple of tasty cocktails to round off the meal. The service was exceptional, and we’d like to give a special mention to Kazz, who looked after us so well. She was super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. All in all, a great family outing with amazing food and wonderful service. Highly recommend in Peterborough!

Went for a quick mid-week dinner with my daughter.The restaurant wasn't too busy around 6pm so we had a little chance to chat to the two floor staff.They were genuinely lovely. My daughter had the kids meal,which is great amount and quality for £8.I had mushroom aranchini to start with.I'd prefer the tomato sauce hot but tasted good.For main,I had hot Americana Leggera-my all time favourite.Figs and mascarpone is perfect if you just fancy for a small dessert.Another lovely visit for us,I'm sure we'll come again soon

Not impressed at all.. I'm only reviewing on my particular visit.. others may have had better. Reasons for a poor rating are firstly the lasagne.. what a rip off... There was very little meat, it was more like a mince sauce than mince that had been microwaved. Infact I've had better more tasteful cheap microwave lasagnes at home. Plus for over £15 you don't even get a side like a salad or something. That wouldn't have bothered me if the lasagne was a good one but alas it wasn't. It was sloppy and lacked everything... It feels like the bigger the chain then the more they skimp. Out waitress was lovely but there was another lady working that walked around as though she was in one heck of a mood and extremely uncurtious (in my opinion) to a just eat ot drliveroo rider that was collecting a delivery. Come on guys, sort out the lasagne or take it off the menu as honestly, it's embarrassing that you call it lasagne. Apparently on a plus side I hear the pizzas are okay but haven't tried one myself.

The pizza was cold after 1 min to served, they don't have any sauces. 😒 we asked 5 times about napkins and still didn't get it. We didn't receive what we ordered until we called again. They also overcharged the bill. I'm sure I'll never, ever go back.

Went to Pizza Express for the first time, and I wasn't very impressed. When we walked in, we were taken to our table and instantly asked what we wanted to drink, we had t even looked at the menu. We then sat down and chose our drinks and meals. One person had halloumi fries as a starter, they were OK, they were deep fried so all you could taste was oil, the main meals were goats cheese and onion chutney pizza, it tasted nice but you couldn't cut the base as it was so hard, even the pizza cutter couldn't get through the base. The next meal was cannelloni, spinach, and ricotta. The meal looked nice, but there was far too much sauce on the meal, so it ruined it. Also, the hostess tried to take our plates as we were still eating our food, which I didn't appreciate. So all in all, I wouldn't go back.

Meh ! Mid. I'm being a little generous with 3 stars. Possibly the proof between Christmas and New year is hard for this outlet. Some of my mark is down to the chain rather than the individual outlet.

Como familia hemos ido a Pizza Express cada Nochebuena durante los últimos 9 años. Este año, lamentablemente no fue lo mismo. No había espíritu navideño. Fuimos a las 13: 30 para el almuerzo y se habían quedado sin Bruschetta y Chocolate Fudge cake, las dos cosas que estábamos deseando también. Parece que hay mucho personal nuevo. Siempre lo hemos pasado muy bien allí. Nos perdimos a Jess este año, que siempre es tan hospitalario y amable. Era un poco plano y sin ambiente! Iremos a un lugar nuevo el próximo año para nuestra tradición de comida familiar.

The Vegan menu is extremely limited. If you have an allergy or need the vegan menu, don't bother coming! The pizza took 50 minutes to arrived despite the restruant only having a handful of customers and was extremely bland. It was also burnt the whole way around. Only half the pizza had vegan cheese on. Very disappointing.

November 14, we came to Pizza Express to celebrate my birthday and had a really pleasant experience from the festive environment down to the food. The toilets were clean and the service was kind and polite. The manager on the shift was Donna and was very welcoming. Will be coming back. Thank you.

I was shocked at the price I paid for a pizza for my grandson. £30 is well over the top and that was with 50% off the pizza.

Usualmente este restaurante es mío y mi pareja va a cuando vamos de compras al centro, llevo años yendo desde que era joven con mi familia y tuve experiencias increíbles, comida y servicio. lamentablemente siento que va cuesta abajo. Al entrar en el restaurante nos quedamos allí esperando bastante tiempo para sentarse mientras uno de los camareros caminaba recto nos pasó caminando por el restaurante mientras otro servidor estaba mirando a otra mesa. Después de estar sentados notamos que los niveles de higiene han bajado significativamente, había basura en todo el piso en todo el restaurante. Vemos a un chef comiendo alimentos mientras cocina sin lavarse las manos correctamente después, nuestros vasos para las bebidas estaban sucios y no se lavaron correctamente. Una familia que se quejó de una de sus comidas a nuestro lado se llevó su comida y el gerente habló con el chef y el chef rápidamente en voz alta dijo “no hay nada malo con esa comida, la cociné a la perfección y seguí cada paso” mientras las pocas personas en el restaurante observaban. 3 miembros del personal estaba sentado en una mesa en el restaurante comiendo y subiendo y bajando para servir mientras todavía estaban masticando su comida, que como un servidor yo mismo sentí anteriormente que era poco profesional. La pizza que pedimos era buena y los entrantes de bola de masa era muy agradable, pero las nuevas patatas fritas que probamos en el menú estaba mal cocido y quemado. En general me siento bastante decepcionado en comparación con los altos estándares anteriores que solía ser.

Tuvimos una gran noche aquí durante la semana después de un poco de compras. La comida era genial, y Katie era una camarera encantadora y clasificó mis requisitos específicos! Definitivamente voy a volver!

Ordered two pizzas through Deliveroo which were complete disgusting. The worst pizzas that I’ve ever seeing in my life.. there are way better and cheaper places to have GOOD QUALITY PIZZAS

Food was up to usual Pizza Express standards. Was very quiet in the restaurant on the day we visited because their card payment service was down. Made for quick service though.

Food was great, service was superb (was a bit of a wait but it was busy) but we did keep getting stared at just because we're a young couple.

Absolutely shocking customer service no greet no smile all staff walk around solemn, hot spaghetti bolognaise was placed in front of not 1 but 2 toddlers also knifes and forks put in front of them also very much reachable,when spoke to manager stated there policy is to wait at door to be seated,not I'm sorry that was all placed right near your granddaughters and could have seriously hurt them,also that's fine but when two staff members look right through you and don't say I'll be with you in a minute or even acknowledge your there and there is no signage to say this is just purely bad customer service, this is badly run and customer service needs to be shown to all staff.only nice thing was the food,

Visita nocturna. Camarera grosera y mal servicio. Camarera indiferente a los clientes, a pesar de estar bastante vacía, la comida tardaba en llegar y el personal más interesado en tener una charla que en ayudar a los clientes. Un montón de opciones de comida en la Plaza de la Catedral, así que no hay necesidad de visitar de nuevo.

Four of us turned up for lunch to celebrate my daughters GCSEs, walked in, waited looked around and there were 5 tables with people and the rest were empty. So dumbstruck to hear the waitress tell us that we couldn’t be seated for 45 mins as they needed to clean up. Guessing they are understaffed. Went elsewhere and won’t be going back again.

Visited on Sunday 4th August at 5.00. Wasn't busy, besides us there was 3 tables, service very slow. There were tables that needed clearing when we went in and they were still full of empty plates when we left.

Booked for my son’s birthday for a family lunch (2 adults and 4 children). Excellent location and easy to get to, spacious tables so had plenty of room. The service was excellent and the food was lovely with a great choice for all on the menu. Also child friendly, facilities for babies and young children were great. Thank you!

I took my little girl out for a celebratory lunch today for a great end of the year school report.She choose Pizza Express.We have been to few PEs around the country but our local one is still the favourite.We already know few of the staff (Karola and Diana are the ones worked today) and they always welcome us nicely.Food was delicious as always,the special biscotti ice cream sundae is to die for!My dsughter was very happy with the updated games on the kids menu.

I recently visited Peterborough's Pizza Express and had an outstanding experience. The garlic prawns were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. The Calabrese pizza was amazing, perfect crust and fresh, tasty toppings. The staff ( Kazz and Diana)were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the entire dining experience a pleasure. I highly recommend this location for anyone seeking great food and exceptional hospitality

I booked for 11.30 arrived 11.28. We were waiting patiently at the entrance but there was some kids sat inside the lady just looked at me annoyed and said they are not open yet not even asked if we have booking. It was just 2 minutes and we were just standing at the front. I booked to celebrate my wedding anniversary. So we just left and went somewhere else where they were happy to serve us.

We went in today 12th June for lunch.. extremely disappointing. I had the lasagne. When it arrived it was like a bowl of Molton lava. Re heated to quickly and at a very high heat.. Once cooled down enough to try I could of done with a spoon. It was more like a lasagne soup. Very sloppy.. my friend had the the cannelloni and was very much the same.. Will definitely not be going again.

Was shopping in town with family and decided to have some lunch and chose to eat here we were seated straight away, staff were very friendly and helpful, food was really good and hot and didn't feel rushed and didn't wait to long in-between courses, looking forward to going again x

Five of us ate here after pre booking. The service was ok, would have been a good idea to have taken the starter plates away before bringing the mains, then having to stand and wait while we piled them up. We sat next to the serving area so wouldn’t have been difficult to have taken the mains back. The food was nice and especially having a separate vegan menu. Various dishes, pizza, salads, dough balls, fries. Pretty standard for a Pizza Express.

Ordered food on line paid for it and you guessed it the order was only half delivered. Can't call anyone to talk to them just an answering system. Feel ripped off, angry and won't leave this company a good review very poor

Popped in just to use some Clubcard vouchers up. Otherwise we dont tend to use this chain as we find £16 for a pizza thats not really out of this word too expensive given the amount of other eateries in our town centre. Greeting upon entry was more conveyor belt style than warm and genuine but i must say service was fact and efficient. Pizza was average Toilets definitly needed a check as looked like they might not have had a deep clean in a while. Probably wouldnt recommend.

One of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The ham, mushroom, and olive pizza tasted like tomato sauce on a terrible crust. The second pizza was inedible. Perhaps if people leave honest reviews, Pizza Express will strive to improve and win back customers. Not recommended

Sadly the Pizza maker looked as if she didn't want to be there and the food area could have done with a tidy up. Little or no atmosphere as the menu has been changed out of all recognition from the original Pizza Express concept. The thin base pizza was so thin it was like a crispbread and the toppings very thinly spread. The Server did her best to brighten the place up but really the franchise now is so far removed from the original format it's just another overpriced Pizza Outlet. Perhaps if they revisited the original menu and started using pizza oven trays again the thin base would be better. Thick based pizza can be fired directly on the pizzeria oven floor but not the thin base. Sadly won't be making a beeline for that outlet anytime soon. They have also bumped up the prices for beverages. Our tab for 2 was nearly £70....

Service with a smile very friendly staff from the moment me and my girlfriend walked in food was orderd and made quicker than expected delicious margherita pizza went in at 4pm on a Saturday nice and quiet just how I like it when I go to a restaurant will definitely be visiting again when I'm next in town

I had to delete my previous review (5 stars) and write a new one because I would like to know why the whole vegan menu was changed. My favourite pizza was American hot and they got rid of it and left like 3 vegan pizzas on the menu. Had to look at my bfs American hot pizza with jealousy lol. I used to love coming to American Express but I won’t be returning. We tried asking the server why they got rid of all the vegan pizzas but she didn’t understand what we were talking about, bless her. I tried the new vegan mezze pizza and it was alright but the aubergine was a bit mushy and it was £17. The next day I ordered a vegan pizza from domino’s for £12 which was way better. It looks like American Express is going bankrupt, the prices went up and the menu is lacking now. Please fire whoever made a decision to get rid of all the vegan pizzas that had vegan pepperoni on them. Absolutely ridiculous

I ordered there through Uber Eats. The order was very expensive for the amount of food. The portions were very small for the price.

Went into pizza express with a couple of friends on Thursday for a long overdue catch up. We were served by Katie and kazz who were brilliant. Very friendly and helpful. Made our drinks beautifully. Very accommodating around our needs (2 of us have severe misophonia) Pleasant experience. Can’t wait to go again

I don't like pizza but I went with friends before the football at the Posh . I had a pasta meal it was ok but the portion size was very small and cost a lot , it was expensive to be honest . The coffee I had was ok . My friends had various pizzas and they seemed to like them except one person in the group , they said the prices were a bit higher to what they are used to . The service was excellent though the staff seemed very hardworking and friendly.

I've ordered take away from this place for years and now see , how the plant based food is being done. Chef was dipping her hands with no cloves into vegetables and ham. So the bowls containing tomatoes and other plant based toppings were being touched with bare hands that had been dipped into meat based toppings. not good is it. Not sure if she washed her hands before making my plant based without animal body parts dish. But it doesn't matter because the hands were being dipped into the bowls without gloves. It's not good at all. Sad that this hasn't crossed managements head. SLIMMING WORLD CHEF , who was on the fuller side herself, didn't have this genius idea cross her mind ? This is what we need to deal with when floride , pregnant cows tity milk brains work in society . There's no COMMON SENSE. As Kasein protein layer around their brain is too thick, to receive information. Manager denied that. Manager said. While they make their meat pizza. The chef takes the chicken , washes her hands and then takes the tomato, then takes cheese, and washes her hands again and grabs a onion. She would have to wash her hands then multiple times, while making a meat pizza. Lol. Wear gloves and have an order for toppings. That doesn't happen in this place. No respect whatsoever to be fare. And could be seen from the chefs grinning. Some of us don't want to be animal body parts eating human beings. I was sitting and observing the process . The hand washing does not take place. And gloves are not used . So verdict is, All vegetables have been touched with hands that just touched a dead animal body part. So manager lied and other plant based people need to be warned by these slimming world models.

I replied no to which we are told it’s just “bookings only”. The place was dead for crying out loud! My partner looked online and the next free spot was in 20 minutes time for a table LOL! He was going to book it but noo way! Am I heck gonna book online for a table when there is a dozen tables free now! What is there problem? Clearly don’t want any custom! I’ve never known anything like it.. I’ll go back to the kings Lynn branch where the place is busy and the people are friendly and welcoming! Anyway the Nando’s was great a few doors down. I’d advise you go there instead, friendly faces and decent food!

I didn't really like this place. The waitress gave us dirty looks and the the pizza is so thin and expensive. It was our first time going to see how it is there and we aren't going back there again. There's places with better prices and better pizza. In my opinion rich people who don't really want to eat too much would go there.

I do love Pizza Express, it's one of our family favourites places, just keep on finding ourselves coming back. Really nice food for adults and kids and very polite friendly service.

Boosted the place to collect a surprise bag courtesy Too Good to Go. The place looks cozy and looks well worth a visit later. Nice friendly staff who didn't have any issues with the collection. The food was delicious. Enjoyed every last model of the Cannelloni.

Just been to pizza express Peterborough, unfortunately not a positive dine for us. Staff was not available, ask for extra Caesar dressing never received, when to the kitchen counter to ask the chef, which was rude also the chefs didn’t wear an head at all, so all the pink hair was free to land anywhere, ask for extra cheese on margerita and was less than my husband American hot. Before we pay I mentioned it to waitress as I had photo as well, she said will take of the extra cheese and have to wait again to do so, wish I have not said anything not worth the 1.60. Very poor , staff looks bored and the restaurant vibe was bored,we find out when one of our favourite waitress work and would attend only when she is in. At least she always get the order right.

Great time and great food. I went with few friends during the week for catch up and good food. Staff friendly and food came out quick and fresh. Out waitress Kazz was ever so helpful with a bit of laughter too. Definitely recommend Romana base - just delicious.

We had a family dinner few weeks ago on a busy Friday night. The food was delicious, the service excellent. The wine recommendation was on point. We had a great evening in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We are all looking forward to our next visit.

I love pizza, and I always loved thin crust. I do believe pizza express has got the best dough - if you do like thin crust They are the best for me and you never get disappointed having one at Peterborough branch. Me and my family went in lunch time, food came out nice and fresh, we didn’t wait too long for it. Our waitress Kazz was very helpful with what to order as my parent weren’t sure what to have. Fab food fab service, only one thing you could ask for it the music in background just to have that touch xxx

Went on Thursday afternoon, we were shown to a table and then forgotten about for 20 minutes. Staff just didn’t seem bothered to take our order so we got up and left. Very strange it wasn’t even busy.

What can I say? Food is the same as any pizza express but this has a particularly nice vibe with very friendly waiters/waitresses: attentive, patient (we were a LARGE party), and friendly. We were basically the last to leave but they didn't hurry us at all. Excellent service indeed!

I have always had a good experience at pizza express but tonight the food was awful. Hardly any cheese on the margarita pizza, was very cold, pizza base tasted chemically, very disappointed, couldn't even finish 1 slice. Contacted customer service online who weren't much help, awaiting an email that could take up to 48 hours to receive!

Comfortable and pleasant, servers were very nice and service was fast. The food was delicious and the free dough balls were divine, I'm gonna try the honey ones next time.

My family popped in for a quick late lunch. It took 45 mins to serve the starters because the chef went on a break. Whilst I understand people need breaks it would have been good if the staff had warned us of the delay. When the pizza finally arrived it was one of the worst pizza express pizzas we have ever had. It was mostly dough with very little topping or flavour apart from grease. In future we will use the Pizza House down the road. I won't be returning to this pizza express.

Gary the waiter was really welcoming and kind from as soon as me and my family came in. All staff really attentive and food was lovely!

Lovely to eat outside on a nice day, staff were a bit short staffed but did an excellent job making sure we were fed and watered. Pizzas were as good as I'd expect great dessert too.

THE RATING IS PURELY ON THE HOSPITALITY AND EMPLOYEES FOOD RATING: 4/5 Update 2/07: Nayia was amazing, really joyful, nice and professional. The other one was the same as last time unfortunately. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take my order, usually that’s not a problem, but this time it was only us and 1 other family in the whole restaurant. After the 20 minutes spent with the other family laughing, the waiter came to us with a dead serious face and a bad attitude. After we finally ordered the waiter went and start gossiping about us to the other family( they turned and looked at us) . In terms of hospitality, 1 star. Very unprofessional. The starter, Bruschetta, was good, but it was served too hot. Served in approximately 10 minutes after ordering. Total wait time since we arrived: 30 minutes. I ordered a “La Reine” pizza, and a gentleman who ordered after me with 15 minutes, it was served first the same pizza as me, while i had to wait another 15-20 minutes. Total wait time since we arrived 50 minutes. The pizza was good, tasteful, well made. It was uncut, no second plate and no ustensils to cut it. The calamari’s were really good. I would not come back here. The only good thing is the food, and that needs improvement aswell on how it’s served.

As a new gold member, I was excited to come and test out my gold membership, and I was not let down! I got served quickly, and we were given several options where we wanted to sit and then shared our menus. The menu is the same throughout the other branches I have tried. We knew we wanted to have the infamous free dough balls (if you are a bronze member or above) and the Americano with the free Romana upgrade (available through the gold membership), and both were tasty. Our server was great and went over and above to ensure we had a great visit. Our drinks were made lovely, and we could eat in peace. I thought the pizza was delicious, and the pepperoni was delicious; I could not fault it. We decided, due to our lovely visit, we would stay a little longer and order pudding, I ordered the new sunset sundae, and my partner ordered tiramisu, and both were so good. This branch of Pizza Express is much like most of their branches. It is quite spacious and well laid out with everything based around an open, visible cooking area. The food is typical Pizza Express fare with a range of options for different dietary preferences. It was tasty and filling but a bit slow on arriving even though we were one of only two tables being served at the time. Service was pleasant but nothing exceptional. Toilets are in individual units with three ladies' toilets and two male toilets all of which are situated on the first floor up a flight of stairs. The one I used was clean and tidy and pleasant to use. There is also one disabled toilet available on the ground floor. I would happily recommend this restaurant and will return again.

Customer service was great. However the food is definitely not worth the price. I spent about £30 on two pizzas and the size of the pizzas was an absolute joke. Me and my friends ordered 3 bottles of water which was nearly the same price as one pizza. Very disappointed, won’t be going back!

2 adults: Delicious margherita and Fiorentina pizza's. Excellent service, friendly. Reasonably priced and good atmosphere.

Feels like Pizza Express are ramping up their prices but at the same time slashing portion sizes beyond belief. I had the new garlic mushroom starter (nearly £7) for what was a tiny portion. My partner had the king prawns which had been swapped to small prawns. They need to be much more attentive to guests and balance out the costs to what you get served.

OK- very busy....not really enough staff working over the busy lunchtime. Food nice. Side salad very overpriced for what I ended up with

Nice pizza, was surprisingly enjoyable. Stood waiting at the door to get seated for what felt like five minutes whilst 3/4 members of staff looked at us and totally ignored us. Felt like an absolute chump. After that it was fine.

Went for Mother’s Day Lunch as a group of 12. Food was nice but Caesar Salads were missing anchovies which we had to ask for and there was no lettuce so rocket was offered instead which meant a rocket fest in the Salads.
