The pizzas are very very delicious, especially the margarita. 👌👌

The usual PE standard. Fantastic service too from all the staff.

Pizza was great and made quickly. One of the staff members was a bit creepy, following us out of the restaurant, asking where exactly we were going next and how we were getting there...quite strange and made me feel uncomfortable.

Unexpected surprise. We were looking for somewhere to enjoy the pizza special that was on. This restaurant was tucked away around the corner of British Museum. Angelika was lovely and the pizza was great. Will rememver this one for next time in London.

This place is spot on. A very short walk from the dominian theatre, a shorter walk from the British museum. Had a three course meal and drinks. Toppings were plentiful and tasty. Even the olives were top notch. The pizza Romano base was perfect. We go to pizza express regularly, but this one is exceptional. Staff were humorous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Not rushed or hassled in any way. Will definately come here again. Loved the art deco style deco too! Thank you one and all.

The experience was ruined by the service. Upon arrival, the pizza maker did not respond to my hello…. Then Marco and Maria were really not pleasant, the impression of disturbing them every time, when taking an order, when I asked for a carafe of water, when we wanted to pay. I had the impression that Marco and Maria were making fun of me during checkout. Tourists keep the establishment alive and a smile costs nothing!

Pizza is good, but service is not that pleasant.

The team are so attentive and friendly, it made our visit to the Coptic St Branch so special. It's our second time at this branch and the service is second to none. Thank you for a lovely evening and a great experience and lovely meal

I walked into this place and it stank. I was very hungry on the way but when I sat down I was not hungry anymore and on the verge of throwing up. The service is terrible and had to wait 15 minutes for a waiter to approach me and ask for my order. I do not recommend this place. There are better pizza places in West London which have better atmospheric smells and better service!

A place we discovered on our trip and where we really enjoyed both the food and the service of the guy who served us.

The men’s toilet door wouldn’t shut as it was broken, somebody walked in on me, very embarrassing. I raised with the manager who was totally disinterested. They shouldn’t be allowed to open with the only toilet in this state.

When we've used this place it hasnt been too busy. It appears to be an old wet fish shop so the walls are nicely tiled and the overall feel is good. We will visit again.

Unfriendly waitress who asked us to eat quickly in less than an hour, out of 2 identical dishes only one arrived, we each dined staggered because they were served 1 by one. No words to apologize... Fortunately it was good..

We always go out of our way to come to this Pizza Express, food is always great, the service is excellent and Marco is second to none! Always makes our visit an enjoyable one. We look forward to seeing him and all the staff again soon.

Good and efficiently provided anglo-italian staples. Staff manage to serve effectively despite the demands of a sometimes noisy and tightly packed restaurant area. I've been visiting regularly for more than 20 years. Relatively quiet on a May Monday evening. I still lament the demise of tomato juice with Worcestershire sauce. Portion sizes have shrunk, in inverse proportion to price increases.

We went with old friends for a light supper. The welcome from everyone in the restaurant was really warm. The room is beautiful with elegant tiles and an open oven. The pizzas were flawless. A very happy meal.

The food was super good. We were at the Museum a full day, and my family was starving, so we just rolled into whatever was closest. It was not deliberate that we went to probably the best experience we've had in London so far! We had pizzas and desert, and I have not had that good tiramisu since last year in Rome. The service was super friendly and the room wasn't too loud. We were given options on where to sit, which is important for us as we brought along an autistic, tired child. We would gladly return another time.

Lovely lunch at PZ, before a trip to the British Museum. Kids absolutely loved their 3 course meal, especially the desert!

Arrived into room with all windows wide open at 7.30pm so it was like walking outside again and rather cold, Aircon set to 17c didn't help! Tried to warm room but it never did anything after 45 mins. Had to get maintenance to fix it. Room is a bit shabby, nowhere to put the kettle down to boil water for tea other than on the floor as cable is so short cannot put it on the only flat surface which was the two small bedside tables, only one which had a plug under it (but way out of kettle reach!). Can't remember last time I was in a hotel that never had a desk of any kind at all, literally nowhere to sit other than the bed, and no chair. Will not be back here unless desperate, just not good enough for £250 a night.

I used to go to this Pizza Express 30 years ago when I worked around the corner. The food is still great, the atmosphere is still warm and the bill is still reasonable. A lovely trip down memory lane to a place that has no reason to change.

Thanks Beck and Waitress for attentive service ! Favourite pizza express within the WC1 area when I have to chose from Holborn, Euston or covent garden ones. A haven away from the tourists and the pizza food is always made with care and just looks and tastes great. The staff don't seem rushed off of their feet.always leave here content

Really quaint and beautifully decorated hideaway of the classic chain just a stone’s throw from the British Museum. We were seated, served and looked after brilliantly on the clock to get to a show and the food was just as great as you’d hope for. The kids were also treated brilliantly and had a great time. Our waiter Giuseppe was wonderful - thank you!

I wanted to wait a few days before posting this to make sure i was a little level headed. the event happened on the 28.03.2024. My parents are visiting me from Australia. We went to the British Museum and wanted a place to have some lunch. The services was reasonable and as was the food. At the end of our meal a different server came over to make us pay for our bill. When my father was about to go pay - she asked very loudly DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE A TIP. It was clearly done in a manner so that the customer would feel obligated to pay. I took the pay machine from my father and pressed the no button. Its a pizza express and generally you don't tip in Australia or London. Had it been a fine dining experience or a local restaurant - of course we would have tipped. And generally in those situations a 12.5% service charge is added to the bill. Upon seeing that i had pressed no, the server proceeded to yell at my father - saying that we should have paid for the service. And how dare we not tip. My father not wanting to offend anyone an- went over to her and tried to apologise and give her some money from his wallet.Of course he only had Australian dollars- so she declined the gesture I'm sorry this is unacceptable. Its a pizza express and we paid £75!!!! for the meal for 3 people. I would honestly ask people to reconsider going here. and would NOT recommend this venue. You should not be shaming paying customers to leaving tips. In fact if you feel that you really require tips to be making a sufficient income from your shift - you should be questioning the franchise and demanding they pay their staff more.

Great place, its cheap between 6 friends we eat 2 pizzas and gor full, the service was great and fast the attention ecelent as well really clean , the food was delicious.

Basic service, very slow, the manager didn't even look at us, it was the pizza man who served us at the entrance to sit down to eat. After seeing the prices on the menu and looking at the photos on Google Maps, we saw that it was very expensive for the amount listed, we got two pizzas and a drink only. We were left hungry with super fine dough. I do not recommend it and of course I will not return and I still have days left in London....

The terrible treatment, for what we ate, very expensive and when it came to paying the waitress demanded a tip in bad manners, don't go!!!

Met up with friends for lunch after a trip to the British Museum at this my favourite Pizza Express restaurant. The food was great and the service was excellent. Always on my radar when I’m in this area.

We wanted a restaurant close to the British Museum and this Pizza Express was perfect. We travelled into central london on the Elizabeth Line, this restaurant is only about a 5 minute walk from Tottenham Court Road station. The restaurant itself is a really interesting building as you can see from the pictures. We had the Pandana and Funghi pizzas, we enjoyed these. I had read comments on the staff, we found them all to be polite and efficient which is all we wanted. Overall an excellent location for eating before or after a visit to the British Museum (just a short walk away) and also not far from theatre land.

Always great pizza at pizza express — sad they seemed to have discontinued the vegan American one, but enjoyed the vegan one I did have. Didn’t feel rushed at all, and service was efficient.

What a fantastic place. We were visiting with 44 children and 9 adults. The staff were amazing the food was so prompt and delicious all the children are masters at rating and gave them a 5 star!! Very satisfied. Waiting on staff and chefs a massive thank you for making our children’s experience memorable!!

Arrived without booking. Shown a grotty table: queried empty better tables. Told they were for people who'd booked. I asked whether they had specifically requested THAT table. No they always give best tables to people who book. We left.

Can’t believe it. Pizza arrived stone cold. Everything else warm. Asked for a fork and didn’t even put one in the bag to eat the pasta? So disappointing as the restaurant is only a 5 minute walk away. The pizza Shouldn’t have left the restaurant

Do not fall for Romana scam - encouraged to swap usual base for £17 Romana - pizza had barely any topping on it at all perhaps a teaspoon of shredded cheese bone dry and some tough bits of pepperoni - very oily and unable to be cut - how do you cut through a cracker dry tortilla with a butter knife? Had to leave half on the plate. Charging a fiver extra for a pizza like this is such a scam - AVOID.

Stumbled upon Pizza Express near the British Museum on a Saturday afternoon. The friendly staff and great food made our unplanned visit memorable. Highly recommend!

Regrettable. We went to eat, the waitress treated us terribly, very rudely. The price of the pizzas they have charged us 2 pounds more per pizza and at the end of the ticket almost 12 pounds for service. I do not recommend it, I certainly will not return.

We visited when on a day trip to London. Its a small location for a Pizza Express but a nice indoor setting. The outdoor looked shocking, including an old sofa that someone had dumped there.... We ordered 3 pizzas, all decent quality, happy. The waiter was pretty average and customer service shocking, needs to smile to start with and be more customer focused. I paid the bill and went to the toilet, in between the waiter stated to my wife that a service charge was not included in the bill.... the absolute cheek that any waiter in all my years of visiting many restaurants could state this. Anyway, he didn't get a tip, hopefully he will read this or someone at said establishment will, my tip - provide a decent service with a smile and you might get a tip. Read up on providing a customer with decent service and experience. Shocking.

I ate here and I had a pizza which was very good. However, while I was at the toilet a waitress, a man in his 40s, served me a rucola salad which I didn't order. I thought it would go with my pizza. After having received the receipt I realised it was added to the bill, 4£, the salad had only rucola and balsamico on it. Pay attention folks. I should have said at the beginning that I didn't order it however I feel deceived.

Having booked a table for 6 people for a "quick bite" before the theatre I thought 2 hours would be plenty of time. On arrival our order was taken promptly and the starters arrived quickly. After 45 minutes of waiting for our pizzas I asked the waitress and was told there was only 1 chef, as the other had called in sick. I waited another 10 minutes before enquiring with the manger to be told they would be going in the oven in 5 minutes. Again I was told me he only and one chef and a full restaurant (it wasn't full). Some 20 minutes later the pizzas finally arrived. They were all over cooked. Due to now running short on time we ate then, had we not now been in a rush they would have been sent back. I then asked for the bill and suggested a reduction should be applied due to the long wait and poor food. 15 minutes later, after going to get some more takeaway boxes from the back, that was clearly more important, the manger grudgingly applied a small discount and presented the bill. I have never run a restaurant, however, I should think if you know you are a chef down you would take steps to reduce the pressure on the kitchen so your customers aren't waiting over an hour for their pizzas. This could be done by stop taking takeaway orders (which seemed to take priority) or not taking walk in tables, or both! At the very least you should warn customers when they arrive there maybe a delay so they can go else where. Having arrived at bang on 5pm as booked we eventually left at 7 having had 2 courses. I should add that both the manger and the waitress couldn't have been more miserable and dismissive if they had tried. Maybe time for a change of job if you really hate it that much.

Nous sommes rentrés au restaurant, nous étions 3 Il y avait pas mal de place, je décide donc de saluer un serveur (le chauve) afin de lui demander si on pouvait s’assoir. Celui ci ne répond pas à mon bonjour mais Il me répond d’un ton sec et énervé que non il fallait attendre, qu'il était seul aujourd’hui, puis il me regarde et soupir Je lui dis que nous allons attendre. Une serveuse vient vers nous au bout de quelques minutes, nous demande nous sommes combien on lui dit 3 et elle nous répond que ce n’est pas possible qu’il faut attendre. Je ne peux pas juger la nourriture mais par contre l’accueil c’est zéro !

I stepped in to an empty restaurant, aside from 2 families dining opposite sides of the room. They say me but I quickly requested to move so the spotlights weren’t in my eyes, yet every table was reserved. 3 groups of guests were turned away the 45 minutes I finished my meal and glass of wine, but no reservations arrived. The kitchen staff, including manager, could be heard scoffing and complaining about customers at the front of house. The pizza wasn’t cut when it arrived. I had to request it cut. Thankfully the saving grace was my waitress who was incredibly attentive and polite. The food wasn’t terrible but the overall atmosphere felt unpleasant and poorly managed.

Fairly standard Pizza Express branch, on the smaller side. Not too busy, pretty, tiled interior. Nice staff, standard food.

Visited pizza express in Holborn on the 7th December and the service received was amazing! Staff were super friendly and accommodating and made me and my team feel welcome from the moment we entered. Thanks ever so much and we will definitely be back!

We dined here after seeing a matinee performance at the nearby Doninion theatre. We walked straight in, seated quickly and the two waitresses Angelika and Ruta were FABULOUS. Our food was absolutely delicious. Delivered quickly and it was really lovely and hot. We would 100% recommend. The chefs were also really happy and friendly. The best Pizza Express we’ve been to. Thank you so much.

We celebrated a birthday as a big group and the staff were very accommodating. Great food and service, only thing would be to allow us to pay for individual items on the app instead of splitting the bill equally but that’s an issue for upper management and not this particular restaurant!

I had a regrettable dining experience at this restaurant primarily due to the demeanor of the older waitress. Upon entering with our party of five, we greeted the waiter, who failed to reciprocate the greeting. When we indicated the size of our group, there was no acknowledgment, and the waiter simply walked to a table and didn’t say anything. Throughout our entire dining experience, the older waitress communicated in a notably indifferent and unresponsive manner. There was a complete absence of warmth or even a hint of a smile. The lack of engagement and communication significantly impacted our overall enjoyment. It felt as if we were being deliberately ignored, making the entire dining experience less enjoyable. However, it's important to note that the food, especially the pizza, was exceptionally delicious. The younger lady , provided the kind of service one would expect from a waiter – friendly and accommodating. Our visit took place on November 19th at 3:00 PM. Despite the taste of the food being a highlight, the overall experience was marred by the unhelpful and unfriendly demeanor of the older waitress. An improvement in the consistency of service across all staff members would greatly enhance the dining experience.

I recently visited pizzaexpress and had a delightful pizza experience. The pizza was so delicious that I ended up ordering a second one. However, I must mention that I didn't feel welcomed by the older lady (with glasses) who took my order. There was no smile on her face, and when I asked her a question, she gave me a rather unpleasant look. Her strange behavior and lack of hospitality made me seriously consider leaving without enjoying the pizza. But I decided to give the pizza chef a chance, and once again, the pizza was absolutely delicious! Despite the initial encounter, I have to give credit to the younger lady who served us. She was incredibly friendly and cheerful, which helped improve the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. The pizza itself was outstanding. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were flavorful and fresh. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and it was clear that the pizza had been prepared with care and attention to detail. I couldn't have asked for a better taste. While the older lady's behavior left a negative impression, the delicious pizza and the great service provided by the younger lady made up for it to some extent. It would be great if the restaurant could address the issue of customer service consistency to ensure all guests feel equally welcomed. Overall, despite the mixed customer service experience, I would still recommend pizzeexpress for their mouthwatering pizza. Just be prepared for a potential difference in the demeanor of the staff. The pizza alone is worth a visit! The pizza chef is great

One very rude older lady waiter (named Maria). It seems it’s her personal mission to make the guests feel unwelcome. All the other staff seemed very friendly and helpfull. Two stars because although she (Maria) ruined our mood, the pizza was delicious.

Living in Bloomsbury, this is one of the earliest branches of Pizza Express and is easily my favourite. It is hidden away a stone's throw from the main entrance to the British Museum. Occupying a former dairy, even the chandeliers are made from milk bottles. The staff are friendly and efficient and the pizzas always well made and fresh from the oven.Today's visit was made more enjoyable thanks to the helpful and attentive service from Angelika and Rute. My companion and I were there for most of a pleasant and unhurried afternoon.

The restaurant was really sweet and the food delicious. The service was charming and thoughtful so we had a very pleasant afternoon chatting and eating. Just loved the dough balls.
