Pizza Express in Camden

The waitress gave the rudest service I have ever experienced not only at a Pizza Express but at any restaurant. I had been out walking all day with my friends and had a bottle of still water, which I placed on the table when I was seated. The waitress came and said I can’t have that as it’s against policy. I advised her of the above and that I can have it, and also even if I asked for a glass of tap water, it would have been free anyway. She proceeded to tell me I was rude after I asked her if she wanted my money or not, and she stormed off. We all left the restaurant immediately and she lost £60 plus purely because I had a bottle of water on the table. Frankly, there’s no excuse whatsoever when your only job is to serve the customer, and since she did the opposite, deserves to be sacked. It would appear other customers have experienced the same from her, looking at the reviews here.

Absolutely loved this branch. The food was so quick, especially considering they had. been busy. Our waitress made it though, she was so helpful and recommended cocktails, which were great. All in all we had a great time

Came here recently and had a great time. We were served by Angelika who was extremely hospitable and helpful. I will be certainly be coming back!

Worse pizza espress I ever visit.We booked table and was not ready.but that's ok. Waitress was rude and in a cranky mood. Few times she ignored us when we ask for something she didn't answer and just walked away. She forgot some positions from our order. Restaurant didn't have most positions from a drink menu. Manager was nice but not much helpful. Restaurant was not busy at all. I'll never go there again and I do not recommend to anyone.

Reliable - I've been coming here regularly for about 40 years. Pizzas are reliably crisp, and well made with a range of toppings that have come and gone with trends. I miss the classic Four Seasons/Quadro Stagione, and seafood/marinara. The salade nicoise, although good, aeems to gave shrunk over the years. I miss the no longer available tomato juice mix, or any tomato juice. Good range of mid market wines - and somewhat excitable cocktails. Sixty years old this month, apparently.

This was literally the best experience! Had a great night out with my friends and Giuseppe & Ruta are genuinely the sweetest! :)) Thank you for a great memory!

The front greeter/manager Beck showed excellent customer service & hospitality. Although it was an extremely busy night & booked out he offered me an alternative, he went above & beyond! Give him a raise pizza Express you need more staff like him! Ruta my server was also wonderful very friendly & efficient - again you need more wait staff like her a great example & ensure to retain such valuable staff. All round and excellent team at this branch which really makes for a great experience & ambience. I'll be back & recommend if you're anywhere near the British museum area!

Pizzas were OK and rather on the small side. service not very reactive even though it wasn’t busy at all. Super overpriced for what it is . Very good location though as they have large tables (we were a table of 9) and super close to the British Museum.

Toilets are so bad, they lock ok but then take forever to unlock. I had to get a family member to help AVOID THE TOILETS AT ALL COSTS

We visited this Pizza Express in January on a quiet weekday evening for dinner and were disappointed with our experience. Upon arrival, we were not acknowledged and had to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated, despite the restaurant not being busy. The service felt unwelcoming, as our waiter seemed indifferent and even made remarks that came across as dismissive, such as, “You never said whether you wanted a drink or not, as you didn’t call me back.” Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the service. The pizzas were not as flavorful as we’ve had at other Pizza Express locations. Given that the restaurant was relatively empty, we expected a more attentive and welcoming experience. We have dined at other, busier locations where we felt much more valued as customers. Overall, this visit did not meet our expectations, and we hope to see improvements in both service and food quality at this branch.

Expensive and poor quality pizza. The dough was undercooked and the utensils to cut it were insufficient (butter knife and pizza wheel). I think the pizza delivery chains are doing better...

It’s a bit tired and the toilets were a bit dirty and didn’t look attended to. Food orders had to be chased and we weren’t asked if anyone in the group had allergies.

The pizzas are very good, they have a children's menu and a family menu at 57& in which they serve you two large pizzas with two starters to choose from. Very attentive staff. We ate for 7 people for about 120 pounds, which considering how expensive London is in general, is not bad at all. The place is very picturesque and you can see the ovens in which they cook.

Do not order Too Good to Go here. I paid £5 for 3 pieces of dry bread.

The place felt so nice and welcoming, the staff were warm and kind. The food was delicious! We had the mushroom pizza and a side of mac and cheese, both were very tasty.

I ordered the calzone and some pizza for sharing. Food was awesomely delicious as it is very well seasoned and service was great. Waiter was always checking up on us. Highly recommend

eta was 6:35, it arrived at 7:00 and it was cold. I had an appointment at 7, so i ordered at 6 but it was still delayed.

We came in just before close after a particularly hard shift, wanting to indulge and was met by friendly, efficient staff who looked out for us, gave us kindness and gave us food that hit the spot. The kind of kindness you don’t get often anymore, but nonetheless extremely appreciated from this emergency services worker.

Pizza was great and made quickly. One of the staff members was a bit creepy, following us out of the restaurant, asking where exactly we were going next and how we were getting there...quite strange and made me feel uncomfortable.

Unexpected surprise. We were looking for somewhere to enjoy the pizza special that was on. This restaurant was tucked away around the corner of British Museum. Angelika was lovely and the pizza was great. Will rememver this one for next time in London.

Este lugar es perfecto. Un paseo muy corto del teatro dominicano, un paseo más corto del museo británico. Tuvimos una comida de tres platos y bebidas. Las coberturas eran abundantes y sabrosas. Incluso las aceitunas eran de primera categoría. La base de pizza romana era perfecta. Vamos a pizza express regularmente, pero este es excepcional. El personal era humorístico y servicial. Nada era demasiado problema. No te apresures ni molestes de ninguna manera. Sin duda vendré aquí de nuevo. Me encantó el estilo art déco deco también! Gracias a todos.

The experience was ruined by the service. Upon arrival, the pizza maker did not respond to my hello…. Then Marco and Maria were really not pleasant, the impression of disturbing them every time, when taking an order, when I asked for a carafe of water, when we wanted to pay. I had the impression that Marco and Maria were making fun of me during checkout. Tourists keep the establishment alive and a smile costs nothing!

The team are so attentive and friendly, it made our visit to the Coptic St Branch so special. It's our second time at this branch and the service is second to none. Thank you for a lovely evening and a great experience and lovely meal

I walked into this place and it stank. I was very hungry on the way but when I sat down I was not hungry anymore and on the verge of throwing up. The service is terrible and had to wait 15 minutes for a waiter to approach me and ask for my order. I do not recommend this place. There are better pizza places in West London which have better atmospheric smells and better service!

A place we discovered on our trip and where we really enjoyed both the food and the service of the guy who served us.

When we've used this place it hasnt been too busy. It appears to be an old wet fish shop so the walls are nicely tiled and the overall feel is good. We will visit again.

Unfriendly waitress who asked us to eat quickly in less than an hour, out of 2 identical dishes only one arrived, we each dined staggered because they were served 1 by one. No words to apologize... Fortunately it was good..

We always go out of our way to come to this Pizza Express, food is always great, the service is excellent and Marco is second to none! Always makes our visit an enjoyable one. We look forward to seeing him and all the staff again soon.

We went with old friends for a light supper. The welcome from everyone in the restaurant was really warm. The room is beautiful with elegant tiles and an open oven. The pizzas were flawless. A very happy meal.

The food was amazing. The staff was very kind.

The food was super good. We were at the Museum a full day, and my family was starving, so we just rolled into whatever was closest. It was not deliberate that we went to probably the best experience we've had in London so far! We had pizzas and desert, and I have not had that good tiramisu since last year in Rome. The service was super friendly and the room wasn't too loud. We were given options on where to sit, which is important for us as we brought along an autistic, tired child. We would gladly return another time.

Another amazing experience in this restaurant. Pizzas are top draw and service the same. Ruta and Danga made the kids feel special. Win win win!

Great staff, the nicest I have encountered in such a long time. The food is pretty good too and always reliable.

Arrived into room with all windows wide open at 7.30pm so it was like walking outside again and rather cold, Aircon set to 17c didn't help! Tried to warm room but it never did anything after 45 mins. Had to get maintenance to fix it. Room is a bit shabby, nowhere to put the kettle down to boil water for tea other than on the floor as cable is so short cannot put it on the only flat surface which was the two small bedside tables, only one which had a plug under it (but way out of kettle reach!). Can't remember last time I was in a hotel that never had a desk of any kind at all, literally nowhere to sit other than the bed, and no chair. Will not be back here unless desperate, just not good enough for £250 a night.

I used to go to this Pizza Express 30 years ago when I worked around the corner. The food is still great, the atmosphere is still warm and the bill is still reasonable. A lovely trip down memory lane to a place that has no reason to change.

Thanks Beck and Waitress for attentive service ! Favourite pizza express within the WC1 area when I have to chose from Holborn, Euston or covent garden ones. A haven away from the tourists and the pizza food is always made with care and just looks and tastes great. The staff don't seem rushed off of their feet.always leave here content

Really quaint and beautifully decorated hideaway of the classic chain just a stone’s throw from the British Museum. We were seated, served and looked after brilliantly on the clock to get to a show and the food was just as great as you’d hope for. The kids were also treated brilliantly and had a great time. Our waiter Giuseppe was wonderful - thank you!

I wanted to wait a few days before posting this to make sure i was a little level headed. the event happened on the 28.03.2024. My parents are visiting me from Australia. We went to the British Museum and wanted a place to have some lunch. The services was reasonable and as was the food. At the end of our meal a different server came over to make us pay for our bill. When my father was about to go pay - she asked very loudly DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE A TIP. It was clearly done in a manner so that the customer would feel obligated to pay. I took the pay machine from my father and pressed the no button. Its a pizza express and generally you don't tip in Australia or London. Had it been a fine dining experience or a local restaurant - of course we would have tipped. And generally in those situations a 12.5% service charge is added to the bill. Upon seeing that i had pressed no, the server proceeded to yell at my father - saying that we should have paid for the service. And how dare we not tip. My father not wanting to offend anyone an- went over to her and tried to apologise and give her some money from his wallet.Of course he only had Australian dollars- so she declined the gesture I'm sorry this is unacceptable. Its a pizza express and we paid £75!!!! for the meal for 3 people. I would honestly ask people to reconsider going here. and would NOT recommend this venue. You should not be shaming paying customers to leaving tips. In fact if you feel that you really require tips to be making a sufficient income from your shift - you should be questioning the franchise and demanding they pay their staff more.

Great place, its cheap between 6 friends we eat 2 pizzas and gor full, the service was great and fast the attention ecelent as well really clean , the food was delicious.

The terrible treatment, for what we ate, very expensive and when it came to paying the waitress demanded a tip in bad manners, don't go!!!

Basic service, very slow, the manager didn't even look at us, it was the pizza man who served us at the entrance to sit down to eat. After seeing the prices on the menu and looking at the photos on Google Maps, we saw that it was very expensive for the amount listed, we got two pizzas and a drink only. We were left hungry with super fine dough. I do not recommend it and of course I will not return and I still have days left in London....

Met up with friends for lunch after a trip to the British Museum at this my favourite Pizza Express restaurant. The food was great and the service was excellent. Always on my radar when I’m in this area.

We wanted a restaurant close to the British Museum and this Pizza Express was perfect. We travelled into central london on the Elizabeth Line, this restaurant is only about a 5 minute walk from Tottenham Court Road station. The restaurant itself is a really interesting building as you can see from the pictures. We had the Pandana and Funghi pizzas, we enjoyed these. I had read comments on the staff, we found them all to be polite and efficient which is all we wanted. Overall an excellent location for eating before or after a visit to the British Museum (just a short walk away) and also not far from theatre land.

Always great pizza at pizza express — sad they seemed to have discontinued the vegan American one, but enjoyed the vegan one I did have. Didn’t feel rushed at all, and service was efficient.

Speedy service, good food - just what I'd expect from Pizza Express.

What a fantastic place. We were visiting with 44 children and 9 adults. The staff were amazing the food was so prompt and delicious all the children are masters at rating and gave them a 5 star!! Very satisfied. Waiting on staff and chefs a massive thank you for making our children’s experience memorable!!

Arrived without booking. Shown a grotty table: queried empty better tables. Told they were for people who'd booked. I asked whether they had specifically requested THAT table. No they always give best tables to people who book. We left.
