Pizza Express in Fife

When we got in we were greeted made to feel very welcome and they cleared off a table quick for myself and my mum. Service by Louisa was amazing, felt very welcome and food was quick and amazing, deffo recommend and will come back 😀

Quite a bit more stylish and sophisticated then I expected based on the name. That's not to say the name is false: the pizza did in fact come quickly, but this is also a real restaurant for one to sit down and talk and think about life. I came here in early April after a long walk down the Fife Coastal Path, my body weary and exhausted, and I consumed almost an entire pizza because of my hunger. As importantly, though, I still had time to look out the windows and see people passing by, and have the time to sip a beverage in a large atmospheric space, one of the "clean, well-lit spaces" Hemingway discusses. I liked this place quite a bit, and I will be coming back here.

Awful experience! Order taken at the same time as other tables, who got, ate and paid in the time we still waited for our food. We asked several times if our pizza was coming, to be repeatedly told it was on its way, but after more than half an hour with still no food we chose to leave. The manager claimed ignorance and it was not his fault and initially still wanted payment for our drinks and order. Rude and unhelpful. Poor communication with customers and amongst staff; not how to run a restaurant!

The Duo Romano pizzas were very good especially the American and Fungi combo. The Bosco salad had nice lettuce and dressing to accompany it. The gin drinks were very refreshing. Our server, Tom, was very informative and friendly.

Staff weren't the friendliest, and service was pretty slow and stilted, however the food was tasty and it was handy for where we were going

Didn’t go well right from the start, didn’t book the table and was seated in the furthest empty corner of the place with dim lights and no windows for no apparent reason (there were available tables in the front, got moved to better ones when I asked for it). Pizzas were small and weren’t cut, fortunately their brilliant service provided me with a pizza cutter (after I asked for it). Pizzas were good but small, the caesar salad was 4/10. Had to wait around 25 mins for the second pizza. Overall, clumsy service, unreasonable prices, small portions

Great food which would do 5 stars but the pizza's are sold on cold plates. So by the time you're half way through your meal, it's frozen. Not nice. Hot plates or at least like warm.

Very disappointed tonight. 😔 I'm a regular at Pizza Express in Aberdeen and normally love their pizzas. I the St Andrews branch we found our pizza undercooked, soggy and luke warm at best. There were enough toppings on my padana but my partners was poor. His had very little sauce, 5 pieces of anchovie (about 1 inch long) and black olives on a large base. To charge almost £14 for such tight portions... we felt a little cheated. Would not return to this branch 😕

Very complicated order and payment system that would not accept my voucher because someone else on my table was using a reward. Why that matters? I have no idea.

First visit to this restaurant in the heart of St. Andrews. Booked a table for 6.30pm on a Sunday night. Shown to our table and given a menu, chose two romana base pizzas, order taken by the server, but shortly thereafter she came back to say there were no romana pizza dough bases left, just classic bases. So same topping but classic bases, fine. Five minutes later a different server came over and his opening words were, “this is very embarrassing but I have to tell you we only have enough dough for one pizza left, we can do a pasta dish for one of you free of charge”. This was definitely a first for us, visiting a PIZZA restaurant where at 6.30 they had run out of PIZZA dough!

Went for a family meal. Didn’t book but thankfully it wasn’t busy so got a table no problem. All staff members were polite and helpful. Food was delicious, no complaints! Didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive either. Will be back

Food came quick and it was fantastic. Even better service, we got served by Tom, very friendly and attentive.

The pizza was great and service

Went there a few times. Each time was greeted by a third-world staff member pretending to be posh and acting very arrogant. Every time I walked in the place was 80% empty and I was sometimes turned away. Other times he said I could have a table for 30 minutes but acted aggrieved like he was doing me a massive favor. I will not go back. They are way too arrogant and pretentious for average chain food. Plenty of better restaurants in town. Don’t waste time at this one.

came here for a meal not too long ago, was served by the lovely angela! she was easily the best waitress i have had in any establishment and she made sure my pizza came swift and still piping hot!! i personally think she deserves a pay rise!!

The upstairs room is great for a large group for a special occasion. The food was tasty and great value for money. The only issue was that the servers didn't always seem to communicate with each other.

We visited on the 26th of December, the restaurant was full and had just one waiter and a chef. The service was excellent! The waiter (I wish I catch his name to mention him) was just amazing, he served everything that we ask in no time and even made an amazing coffee while running around! The food was amazingly good, pizza was just one of the best I ever had and the kids food was soooo tasty! I seriously can not recommend this restaurant enough 👌

Really nice pizza place. We visited on Boxing Day for lunch. The service was really quick. The food was delicious. They're child-friendly. We were given a high chair right away as well as colouring pens and paper. Overall, we had a very good experience. We'd happily visit again.

We attended pizza express this evening. On ordering starters, the starters were fine. The waiter then knocked a 1l bottle of water on one of our party. When our pizzas came two of the 4 were cold and the salad was wilted and presented as a rather dissapointing pile. On paying the bill, we were rather sarkily spoken to by the waiter for not leaving a tip (the full amount was paid, ie no discount etc as an apology for covering one of our party in water). I hasten to add this was after he poured water on one of our party and told us not to order a dessert as it would take him to long. All in all an extremely disappointing experience.

A disappointing return visit to an old favourite. We all chose "classic" pizzas. The bases were un-risen and hard. The pizzas we ordered were all over-cooked. The Fiorentina had an egg baked solid, and scorched spinach. We would have had better quality from a supermarket chiller. Clearly an issue with the kitchen on the night, but the manager should have known better!

Overall very good but over priced for Pizza and Drinks

At 4:15pm, an utterly baffling encounter with Ayesh unfolded in an eerily empty restaurant. With a straight face, he declared, "We're fully booked." I couldn't help but glance around at the abundance of vacant tables and retort with a disbelieving, "Really?" Ayesh insisted, "Yes, from 5:30pm," as if implying we were privileged to dine anywhere else. Dazed and dumbfounded, I begrudgingly took a seat under his instruction, only to be informed that I needed to vacate by 5:30pm due to my lack of reservation and their supposed full house. Message received, dude. As I waited for service, Ayesh casually dropped the bombshell that he had just one staff member on duty, making me a reluctant participant in an unending waiting game. In response, I pledged to consume my meal as expeditiously as he could serve it. Regrettably, my encounter with this establishment began with a sense of indigestion that lingered long before the first bite. If you find joy in subjecting yourself to the whims of an establishment that appears intent on thwarting its own success, this peculiar brand of hospitality might just be your cup of tea. One can't help but wonder if Ayesh has a secret agenda to single-handedly dismantle this business.

Catrina served us very well indeed. Her attention to detail was most evident from where I was sitting. She ensured the glasses were sparking,clean and polished ….just how I like them. This is one of the essentials in a restaurant. Her table service was timely and faultless. Italian food and beer is not high on my desire list BUT tonight the pizza was most appetising and the Nastro thirst quenching. All in all a good night made by excellent service ….in a busy restaurant . Well done Catrina . Thank you.

Our 2 American hot pizzas and one American classic last night were really disappointing last night. Dry, thin on tomato sauce and miserly amounts of cheese. The pepperoni was very good, service was very good. This meal did not live up to my previous experiences.

We asked for a pizza and pasta dish which was advertised on their menu outside their shop at £15 each. When the man rang up the order he was charging us nearly £17 each dish. When we challenged this the man went outside and came back saying "oh that's an old menu" !!! Absolutely disgraceful retort as far as we are concerned.. If the menu shows a price then that is what they should sell it for. We cancelled our order out of principle and the guy didn't even care. He just shouted through to the chefs in front of everyone " CANCEL THAT LAST ORDER" .. Not impressed and will certainly never go back!!.. Shame on you and your false advertising!!

Second time eating at a Pizza Express… love their pizza and other starters they have. Server was great…. Thanks, next time I see a Pizza Express I’ll make sure to pop in and have a bite 😊

Well run Restaurant and staff are friendly and welcoming and food is tasty and place is clean and cutlery is clean and great chilled atmosphere. Highly recommended

Delivery was very fast. Pizza was ok, could have been hotter, and wasn’t really a filling meal if you’re really hungry. Well-made Italian style pizza though. I ordered with the Deliveroo 10 quid off first order discount which made it ok value for money. Without that the price would have been way too high for what you get.

After arriving in St Andrews on an unwelcoming rainy night, and finding that the hotel we'd booked was unexpectedly not prepared to serve us dinner, we had to find somewhere to eat in a hurry. My wife has just had twelve weeks of chemotherapy following breast cancer, and her diet is limited, so this wasn't easy. Pizza Express couldn't help but offered us the chance to come back on spec in half an hour or so - and a very helpful, friendly girl on the desk, Olivia, even took our name so that we'd be remembered. We came back, were seated against the odds, and Olivia served us brilliantly. No one could have been kinder, more helpful or more friendly. Indeed all the staff were good, but she was exceptional. Dear restaurant manager, two points: (a) you employ great people, and (b) you really want to hang on to this one. The food arrived quickly, and was predictably, reliably good. There was a mistake in the order, which they instantly offered to rectify without question. The restaurant was crowded and all the servers and staff seemed to be working incredibly hard, but the atmosphere was relaxing for diners, and we didn't feel rushed in any way (or on the other hand, abandoned to a long wait). We've eaten in a few Pizza Expresses, but this one will remain in our memory. Well done St Andrews. Well done Olivia.

Popped in for a big pizza take away. We ordered spicy beef thin crust pizza. It was a lovely pizza the only thing was not much spicy beef on the pizza. Staff were very friendly. Wouldn't mind going back the next time we're in St. Andrews.

Staff were excellent, food good, would recommend. Really busy but lovely waitress, she was excellent. Starters, pizza and pasta were really good.

The pizza is okay, the best thing is the dough balls. The service is not bad.

Initially we were turned away and told they were full. This seemed odd as there were lots of spare tables. We were booked a table for 45 mins later and wish we haven’t bothered and gone to Mozza instead. £61 for three pizza and three soft drinks which is extortionate for lunchtime. Service was very average, the pizzas were ‘ok’ so saves it from being a one star. Would I go back…..no!

Stopped in for lunch and had a really nice meal! Place was nice and busy but easy to get a table, the service was really fast and friendly, the food was great and came out quick, and the toilets were clean - no complaints.

Great wee menu for the kids too, they loved the dough balls, pizza and of course the ice cream! Good value.

Fantastic place, probably the prettiest Pizza parlor I have been in outside of Italy. On a lovely little plaza with the statue commemorating the most famous cat in Stone Andrews history -:Hamish McHamish. The food's pretty good as well.

Took a bit of time before our reserved table was available as the restaurant was very busy. Food was great with the exception of the Calabrese pizza which lacked Calabrese sausage due to a supply issue. After a head in the hands moment I accepted pepperoni as a substitute. Pepperoni is just not the same hence 4 stars for the food. Used the app to check in but couldn't work out how to get my reward of free doughballs and that seems to have disappeared now from my rewards. There is a very good chance that I'll delete this app but I will give it one more go!

We do not make a habit of visiting fast food chains but the St Andrews Pizza Express is different. Brilliant location, outstanding staff and of course great value for money using converted Tesco vouchers. In addition the food is excellent. I have enjoyed linguine and cannelloni on our last two visits great sides and starters. This restaurant is always busy which tells a story. It is centrally located in beautiful St Andrews and close to all amenities including the local cinema. I cannot emphasise how brilliant the staff have been on each of our three visits with and without young children.

Bel posto, pulito, servizio veloce. Si mangia bene e non è caro come altri posti. Consigliato.

Very disappointed to be turned away as they were “full” ! Really? empty tables with used plates uncleared on outside tables, hardly full or prepared for the incoming “reservations” seems like a common catchphrase, we have heard a lot Thanks to the customer who sent us to Mozza around the corner who were immediately welcoming - and the food is brilliant!

I had a wonderful meal with my friend! We were served by the lovely Kyle and we had a great conversation about Fawlty Towers. Food came quickly, true to restaurant title, and was delicious :)

Thank goodness this place is open after 8pm!! Everything else on a Monday evening said their kitchens were already closed. We had the shrimp for the appetizer and it was delicious. It came with dough balls, I think is what they were called. The pizza was delicious and big enough to share if you also share an appetizer!

Ordered the Spicy guissepe delivery, you would think you couldn't forget to put cheese on the pizza, but you'd be wrong. Following me contacting them about this, no compensation was offered. Won't be ordering again

Very disappointed, booked over the phone and when we arrived was told that it shouldn't of let us book it as they were fully booked.Left us feeling that we weren't welcome !! They were very under staffed, service very poor, restaurant was only half full, to busy with take out orders!! My starters was suppose to be King Prawns , they weren't, food was not of high standard compared to previous visits here in St Andrews. Will be giving this one a miss in future.

Having read the reviews prior we picked PE St Andrews over other restaurants. Our waiter couldnt be more attentive but we were disappointed at the outset when we were served their classic signature starter of dough balls that were raw😒, these were replaced. My pizza was quite nice and tasty but my husbands pasta dish contained some uncooked hard penne. Unable to catch a waiter and as we werent asked if our meals were ok, my husband mentioned his disappointment at the point our plates were cleared away. My husband was asked what his demands were and he told the waiter that he was disappointed with the dish. We said we didnt want anymore courses (though we werent offered complimentary drinks or more food). We were unhappily surprised to receive a bill for the full amount. On speaking to the assistant manager, he said the manager had just left and he had been told not to discount anyones bill without exception. Clearly this is something that may sometimes occur, otherwise why would the specific instruction be made, or were we the unlucky ones due to the managers timely departure?🤔 Utimately we paid full price for substandard food and would not recommend this restaurant. It could have been a much more positive experience😒

We desperately wanted to eat at Little Italy, but did not have reservations and they could not accommodate us, so in a panic, we chose Pizza Express. It wasn't horrible. I would equate it to past experiences. However, this time I had two hungry children and I was also on the verge of hangry! We ordered a few apps in addition to our meal because we were so hungry. One child spilt an entire drink. Food took a long time to come out, but everything was good. The meal did seem overpriced based on what we were served. Anyway, our bellies were filled.

I'll be honest, chain restaurant wouldn't be my first choice, but as a family of four with two young children pizza express looked to provide the best value in the area and was welcoming for our slightly boisterous children!! I have to say it was one of the best family meals we've had. The restaurant is modern, nicely laid out, and staff were attentive. Kids were content with their activities and their menu was great value. Our own pizza and calzone were tasty too. Dough balls were delicious. Timings of courses were just right. Thanks for catering for us, we would definitely come back if in the area.

Hadnt been to Pizza Express for many years...my friends chose pizza with one having gluten free option. She was disappointed at size of her pizza much smaller than regular. Had to order some halloumi fries. I chose Nicoise Salad which was tasty enough. Too many lettuce leaves and dont think I got anchovies. Tuns steak would have been better standard than a tin product. Good service, polite staff. Lovely cappacino

Gluten free and dairy free are catered for here. Our server was well informed about dietary requirements and very helpful. It is just like every other Pizza Express in the country so I can’t say it was special.

Had lunch there after visiting the aquarium with the family. It was very nice lunch. Our waitress was so nice. She was smiling all the time we were there. She made the lunch even more special. My daughter and my mom had the La Reine Pizza, my sister had the Nduja Calzone and this one is very spicy with a lot of jalapeños inside. I had the leggera gamberreti. That was quite nice to have half pizza half salad. Service was great. Food was also nice but the Nduja was too spicy. Will surely come back again when I return to Scotland

Love the pizzas here, prices are a bit much but you still get good pizza, better than domino’s etc, and you get treated well by the staff. Lovely vibe, and a good experience overall.

I dine here fairly regularly, courtesy of Tesco vouchers. I’ve never been disappointed. Very professional, friendly staff in pleasant surroundings. I’ve tried Pizza Express in Perth and Stirling but St Andrews is the best due to consistently decent pizzas and good customer service.

Exactly the same as it was 13 years ago....last visit...best pizza in St Andrews.... Bit more expensive than then... but serving some of the best Italian food and drink around! Can be busy and noise at times but still worth a visit!

A rather chaotic atmosphere, we couldn’t get anyone to acknowledge we were there for a while and the kitchen staff were all stood around waiting for the manager. After about 10 minutes we were seated. The food is always nice here, but it’s very pricey, and it took ages to get the bill and pay.

Host was really short with us and unwelcoming. Just popped in to inquire about 2 people for a table and was met with a 'fully booked, no space available' without really making eye contact with us. Not impressed.

We were greeted very friendly. The atmosphere is family friendly. Our waiter was exceptional friendly and the food was great. We are looking forward to visit again.

Brilliant service as always at Pizza Express, St Andrews, really accomodating as one of our party is in a wheelchair, but always a chair removed so never any drama getting in and out always plenty of space. Great food, can't fault it.

Pizza was burnt and tiny for 10, no spices in the sauce whatsoever, just some plain tomato puree was spread over it, worst pizza I've ever had...Service was very poor as well.

Nice vibe, great food and fast and friendly service. I have eaten here a dozen times or more and I have never had bad food ever! The food is not expensive as you would expect eating in St. Andrews, but it is very tasty and just get a look at these pictures. It’s like 3 star Michelin food at a pizzeria.

Disappponted...visiting st Andrews with kids and 2 dogs at 430pm, tried to order and sit outside. Unfortunately they said they were not serving in the outside seating

Very hacked off. Called and was told it's fine to sit outside to eat if we had our dog. Arrived and were told that they weren't serving outside. Queried this and told we could sit outside but re wouldn't be served quickly. Very rude.

Was visiting St Andrews for the day with my family and was unable to get a table outside so opted for a takeaway. Pizzas were good , although small and over priced but my bug bearer was the 4 drinks we ordered ,3 water one coke . All glass bottles which i was expecting to have screw tops like some beers and Appetizer. But no we needed a bottle opener for them !!!! We spent over £10 on 4 drinks we couldnt drink . With 2 little kids with us i was not amused and did call up to let them know. They did offer to refund me but i declined . The thought of having to walk from my car back to the restaurant was just too much hassle. .....and would make me even more thirsty! Next time staff need to make customers well aware that apart from being a glass bottle the tops do not screw off . BOTTLE OPENER REQUIRED!

Great location and outdoor seating. We arrived a bit late for lunch but there was room. We know what we like and the pizzas were better than expected and very crispy. Drinks now are really pricy for children's fizz. Really its a trusted product for...

Have visited here many times and this evening noticed some people eating at the outside tables with their dogs . We have always left our dog in the car which means we can only go if weather isnt too hot for leaving the dog so...

Lovely and freah tasting food. We had the doughballs & bruchetta. My husband had the burnt bits pizza and i had the calabresse (sorry if its mis-spelt) both of which was lovely. Would have liked a little less rocket and pesto on mine...but was very tasty. The staff were good too..and we didnt have a long wait in between despite a few tables coming in after us...after 9pm.

Brilliant food, very friendly and helpful staff.

I went there at 6pm on a weekday and the restaurant was well filled with guests and even tho there were many people our food was ready pretty quick (approximately after 13 minutes) The waiters were very friendly, polite and understandable for foreigners, unlike some other Scots I’ve met on my trip Only 3 Stars because the food was really good I ordered Zucchini Linguine and my friend a pizza with egg and spinach The pasta was the worst: it tasted incredibly sour and bitter at the same time Just after some bites I stopped eating Definitely something I would not recommend The pizza in comparison was quite alright although it was seasoned poorly and there was way too much garlic on it I feel like I had breath for an eternity and my clothes were also quite smelly after the visit

I just love Pizza Express of all the chains I thinks it's the best. Especially the branch in St Andrews where the staff are so nice and efficient even when the place is mobbed. Their Pinot Grigio is also very good and not silly expensive.

I went to pizza express in St Andrews with my two daughters and grandkids on the last day of our holidays. We had a lovely meal and the waiter was so friendly and was good with the kids

Love going in to eat there. Tend to be by myself because of work and the staff are always very kind in trying to fit me in. The food (love the goats cheese pizza, magic) is terrific and I leave feeling welcome and well fed. Love the place.

Be careful and check your bills. The waiters wrote down 2 teas on my bill which I did not receive. Service is very slow. The food is delicious.
