An ocassional visitor to this Cafe I always find that the staff are friendly & cheerful, & that the service is good. This is clearly an independenly run cafe where staff are working from a small kitchen but the food is always excellent & freshly made. The cafe has a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere & is always a great place for a coffee or something to eat. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, nice interior and location, OK food. Breakfast almost entirely spoiled by inconsiderate dog owners, one in particular, who showed up next to me at my outside table with a dog who had an extremely noisy bark. How can people think that this is OK? Obviously not the cafe’s fault but spoilt the experience for me.

Found this gem of a tea room after messaging them to see if they could accommodate a gluten and dairy free diet. Well they certainly did! Plenty of choice of cakes and lunch that can easily be adapted. Very knowledgeable. Reasonably priced and generous portions. Will definitely be returning.

Just dropped in here while waiting for a colleague; very pleasant environment, friendly service. I had a bacon and egg muffin from the breakfast menu while waiting which was delicious and a chai latte which was also very good. Well worth a visit

We are fairly regular visitors to this lovely cafe at weekends for brunch as it's a pleasant walk from Letchworth. Set well back from the road and behind a stretch of grass it is a pleasant place to hang out. They have a good menu and several vegan and gluten options, including with avocado. The sourdough bread is very nice. A good balance of the healthy and the indulgent with a range of cakes, brownies etc too.

BIG pot of tea, tea time and no rushing you away at 15:30 unlike some establishments in Baldock ! Still has that yapping dog that wasn't welcome across the road after pi**ing everyone off ! Otherwise spacious seating areas, not cramped at all, fast service. Recommended !

Pixies is located on Baldock High Street which I believe is the widest High Street in Hertfordshire. There is a large green space outside the front of the cafe and when I visited there was a large seating area with benches, chairs and tables to sit on. I ordered food from just inside the entrance and it was brought over to us where we were sitting. The staff were really friendly and the food was good too.

Lovely to sit outside. Ordering at the doorway. Well-filled paninis & a good side salad. Only suggestion would be to get rid of the tatty & well-used menus.

David's Bookshop is so much more than a book shop. As well as books they also have a music shop where you can by new and second hand CD's and vinyl. They also have a coffee shop where you can get drinks and snacks. It's a really nice place to have a mooch about looking for books and music and then once you have completed your purchase then you can pay for it and get a drink to treat yourself for your new purchases. The prices of the drinks and snacks are very reasonable so it is the perfect place to visit.

My review based on dinner only. We had a party in the white tent outside the car park. It was absolutely freezing, multiple times we asked for extra heat pump or any sort of heaters and we were offered 2 (two) fleecy blankets for the group of 35 people. Later on when the rain started pouring on our table, man came round to fix the tent where it disambled near the roof. How timely! So from comfort point of view this is zero star. Not acceptable. Food was ok- duck parcel from Christmas menu was very salty..the roast however was lovely and came with plenty of vegetables. Service was good, waitresses were nice and helpful.

Our friend has been here before and wanted to take us here for a bite of food. We walked in to an old pub and were welcomed. We chose to sit by the fire as it was cold outside. Two beers were ordered. I ordered a Limehouse Rhubarb and Ginger. Wish I would have tasted the gin before I mixed it. I enjoyed the cocktail. We weren’t that hungry. Our friend ordered the onion soup with an olive oil bun. I would order onion soup but my tummy would not be happy. I ordered a goat cheese salad because I had such a good one at another place. This one wasn’t as good but it was still good. The cheese had been heated on top of the bread. The more I ate it though, the more I liked it but it still wasn’t as good as the previous one. My husband had the shin of beef pie. He liked it and ate the entire thing. It came with potatoes and those were good as I tasted one. I also sopped up the gravy at the bottom with bread. It was good. I always try and taste the sauces. Staff was very nice and I would recommend the place.
