The food was very nice with nice sized portions and appropriate pricing, however a pot of tea is £3.50 per person. When I asked for extra water, i was told a pot of extra water would be charged at an extra £1 which I felt was unreasonable given the very high cost of tea. I go to alot of cafe's and have never been charged for extra water.

Visited the coffee shop for first time and wasn’t disappointed . Very reasonably priced . The bakery is also worth a visit . The corned beef slice and steak pie we took home were well worth the money and a good sized portion too . Decent variety of plants too , lots reduced now for the Autumn .

Had a lovely meal.We gave the young lady on the till a very complicated order for four people. Which she recited back to us very accurately. The drinks arrived first all correct and about ten minutes the food arrived again spot on.Would definately recommend the cafe. Would like to thank the young lady on the counter and for her happy smiley manor.

Manager has NO PEOPLE SKILLS whatsoever! Browsed around and asked the man serving on outside till if he had particular flowers, and he looked at us as if we were interrupting his work...erm....which was to serve us? Asked if we could leave our trolley with our plants in while we went in the restaurant...again an air of arrogance and sarcastic response! When we came out from having lunch, which was a nice lunch, we were trying to sort our plants out and felt that he had no patience ..we were with our mother in law who is 87 and a lovely lady but he was rude and not friendly at all..when handing one plant over to pay he abruptly said "stop waving it around so I can see what it is". Totally being awkward, clearly doesn't want to be there, and customer care and service skills leave a lot to be desired. After getting in the car, we felt we needed to ask his name as he made what should have been a lovely experience a very unpleasant one. So Tom, we would suggest you reflect on how you treat your customers...as you have just lost 3, and we will not be recommending the garden centre due to your bad attitude. A smile and a little compassion goes a long way!

I cannot express my disappointment. Do not consider this cafe if you want a peaceful, hygienic experience. Firstly, a dog evacuated his bowels in the restaurant. There were customers having lunch whilst this took place….felt nauseated myself. The dog owner walked out with the dog and the staff were left to clear up the poo…..they should have refused. Why should they be left to clear this poo. Why was the owner allowed to just walk out. The management need to review their open dog policy. It is unhealthy and unhygienic. Also, so many yapping dogs….not what you want when you go out for a peaceful moment and a bite. Such problems are not addressed by management, they seem to turn a blind eye to the issues.

VERY overpriced food that is only limited selection. We arrived and I asked 2 waitresses if we could just sit where we want or do we need to be seated to which both replied "No English" and walked off. We finally got to the counter to order and only ordered a tea and a coke, they were right next to the counter but we had to sit down at a table and be brought to us. We decided not to order food as it was very overpriced (a slice of quiche was £8.95) so waited 22 minutes and still no drinks, I went to speak to the counter staff who said they were very busy today (Tuesday 11am). Waited another 11 minutes before our 2 drinks arrived. Service is terrible. Some staff don't understand basic English. VERY overpriced food. We definitely won't be returning.

I ordered three cakes and an a cup of Americano, totalling £17. Upon reviewing the receipt, I realized that each cake was priced at £4.5, despite the price tag clearly stating £3.95 . The discrepancy between the charged price and the advertised price feels dishonest. Moreover, the éclair tasted awful, with the cream having a bleached water taste, and the carrot cake feeling dry, as if it had been sitting for more then three days. Paying such a high price for such poor quality is truly disappointing. My advice is to always check the recipe when you are here. I don't think I'll be going back. Very disappointed 😞

This is a really lovely place to stop by for food and drinks. The atmosphere is very welcoming, staff are very friendly and the food (mainly the cakes!) are delicious. Portions good and food is fresh but comes out quickly. Bonus for a lovely stroll around the nursery after.

Visited with my parents for breakfast after a friend had recommended it. I had a full English breakfast with poached eggs (eggs unavailable after 11am) with brown bloomer toast. Dad had a bacon sandwich and my Aunt had toast. The four of us had an Americano coffee, which was really nice too. The staff were really friendly, the team room had a lovely atmosphere and we were lucky to get a table, it was that busy. Although we didn’t have one this time, the Peach Melbas are delicious. We will definitely back again.

They say they are dog friendly but they are definitely are not.we had rescued two dogs which we were trying to socialise.it said on the sign that dogs weren't to sit on the tables or touch the cutlery which mine weren't but constantly kept coming up to the table saying you couldn't put our tiny puppies on chairs so we put one of them on the floor after ordering our drinks.the other tiny puppy was on one of our knees nowhere near the table but another latg3 dog at another table wasn't so friendly.Obviously our dogs were nervous but we were trying our best and didn't feel as if ee were break8ng any rules as the sign DID NOT SAY YOU CANT SIR YOUR DOGS ON YOUR KNEE!!!!!! Mad3 to feel very uncomfortable by staff so got up and left even though we had paid for our drinks. Disgusting service and Will NEVER visit again. !!!!!

£5.60 for beans on toast and £3.90 for a latte. I know prices have gone up, but that is ridiculous. Wont be back.

Very poor vegan menu, in fact non existent unless I suppose you have beans on toast or jacket potato and beans. Certainly nothing on the menu is marked as vegan friendly. They do offer soya and oat milk for teas and coffees. The soya latte was lovely. Friendly service and the place seems popular and is nicely kitted out. Best not to have a sign at the entrance saying wait to be seated, when in fact this is not the case.

Visited this place with my husband and adult son. When we entered it wasn't clear what we should do - wait to be seated or find a table. A member of staff came and rather abruptly instructed us to find our own table, which we did. We then went and ordered some coffee, scones and a cake. The member of staff taking the order looked at us as though we were aliens. We returned to the table and our food and drinks were brought over. Service was basic. The butter pats were liquid when I peeled the tops off. Coffee and scones were average, but the prices were very high. I think the staff could do with going on a customer service course.

I visited today at lunch time and ordered 2 jacket potato's and a child's sandwich, flat white and iron brew which came to £29.50 which it quite expensive, when I looked at the receipt I also seen a can a pop was £2.00 which is very overpriced. We waited over half hour to get our food, I had drank my flat white the time they come with the food and politely asked if i could have a free drink as I drank mine the time the food came and the staff member was very rude and refused to do that, which I was really shocked about. I don't think anyone should be waiting for over half hour for a jacket potato which is already cooked and just needs plated up, I think the staff member needs to learn some manners and I also think the prices are getting ridiculous now so I won't be returning and I would not recommend to anyone!!!

HOW MUCH its been a while since i left a review on trip advisors but really felt todays visit deserved a review the tea barn at pity me nursery, couple of years since ive been , this place now charges far to much, i mean £5,50 for a very basic sausage sandwich, made with a plain white bun with a hint of butter and 2 sausages one cut in half and one sort of cut in half, and then on top of that £3.50 for the smallest pot of tea ever, so for the 2 of us it was £18, which was for what i would expect to spend £10 maximum on and it wasnt worth that much a proper full tradition english breakfast and a proper large pot of tea for 2 is only £8 more at another local garden centre and turn the music down by the counter sorry wont be coming back

Visited here today and was disappointed. I ordered the chicken and veg pie and chips - the gravy was extremely thick, the mushy peas weren’t good, the chips were poor and the pie was merely passable. Afterwards I ordered the berry pavlova and a pot of tea, I could see the berry pavlova on the shelf. After a wait of about 10 mins at our table the waitress came over and said ‘I’m so sorry there is no berry pavlova left’ I told her that I saw it when I ordered it so I was a bit annoyed . I said I would have the bannofee pie instead. After waiting again my husbands and my cakes arrived. I said to the waitress I expected to be refunded the difference between the pavlova and the bannofee pie and she responded I think they are the same price but I will check - I knew the pavlova was 0.45 more expensive ( not a huge amount granted but it was the principle especially since I knew the pavlova was there when I ordered it) the waitress came back with the 45 pence owed to me. Pretty poor experience overall. The people on the til were uninterested and no tables were cleared in the time we were in the cafe. There was a sign that said wait to be seated but there was no one there to seat people, everything seemed today to be inefficient. Won’t be eating there again.

Me and my family visited this establishment on 3rd of July, we have been many times for coffee and cakes and would of been a good choice. How wrong I was, we ordered and sat outside which means you get cardboard boxes with your meal in which I think is just bloody lazyness on there behalf, afterall if you sit inside you get proper plates. Anyway we got the meals and one of the meals had been ordered without coleslaw however it came with so we took it back and one of the staff said she would bring it out in a couple of mins. Out it came in the same box with reminants of coleslaw still on the box!!! It's a good job we did not have any food allergy. After finishing our meals I took my granddaughter in for a treat, peach melba and a slice of carrot cake. How disappointed, the peach melba was the smallest thing I have ever seen, honestly my granddaughter could have made a better one and for 3 pound was not worth the money. But had to have it along with the carrot cake. So while waiting for my carry out of cakes I stood and watched the woman get the carrot cake from the display and take a careful look at it and think to herself is it worth even cutting it in half as it was not big enough for two, so proceeded to ask another woman was it worth cutting and she said with a frosty greedy face yes!! So it meant I got probably a short measure as would have another customer, just pure greed to get another £3.45 out of the cake. The cake was dry as sticks and tiny, I'm not greedy but it was not worth the money. We will not be going back so lost another 5 customers T

Used to be a nice place but the last couple of times we’ve been haven’t been great. Not very family friendly, whenever we visit with our baby we are made to feel more like an inconvenience rather than welcome customers, it’s almost as if the staff don’t know what to do when someone comes in with a pushchair. We’ve been told twice now we couldn’t share a table with another couple as they’re too busy, but we could sit separately?! How does that make a difference when it’s still the same amount of people? It always feels very chaotic, food takes ages to come and isn’t hot.

The food is very good and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Downside is the time you have to queue to order and the time you wait for service. Took 50 minutes for us so try to go early or late. The hanging baskets are always good quality and reasonably priced.

After having been closed for a couple of years the pub is now due to re-open on the 31st October 2024. Greene King are saying that the re-opened pub will revert to it's former name of 'The Sportsman's Arms' (in recent years it had been named 'The Belmont'). I've given a three star (average) review as I haven't a clue yet what the pub will be like - I just thought it might be useful to post that it is re-opening soon but I can't work out how to post without giving a rating. I'm hoping to return with a five-star review soon!!
