Pitta Perfect in Melton

Ordered a meal from Simla and was informed via email it was being prepared only then 40mins later I receive a message informing me order had been cancelled without any explanation! I tried to call restaurant but no answer at all, I have also emailed and still received no explanation. I'm also still awaiting refund! Absolutely appalling and would not order ever again its a shame because this place used to be good but sadly gone downhill!

Went for lunch today. Was absolutely lovely. It has a lovely feel. Christmas decorations superb. Made to feel very welcome. Very relaxing. Unfortunately we were the only people (4) there. We had a table in the window. Lovely looking out over the countryside. There was plenty of food on our plates. Tables looked nice. Very clean. Dont take any notice of previous owners. This has greatly improved. Please give it a try. I would think groups, corporate meetings would benefit here as well as individuals. We are certainly going back soon for an evening meal.

Despite being our local for 13 years, have only ever been in a handful of times, each disappointing. Staff are friendly enough, but poorly trained on dietary requirements on the menu - a kitchen staff member told me that the difference between the vegetarian burger and vegan burger was that it contained nuts... Food was reasonably priced, but arrived with zero attention to presentation or actual care towards making it exciting. I'd say it could be nice for a drink in the summer, but with no greenery, if you chose to sit outside, you're practically sat in the car park. Both bar area and restaurant area are run down - hole in the wall with some plaster slathered on top, not even painted. Lighting is pretty fluorescent and nothing quirky or interesting. Very dull and run down. Feedback to management: the whole pub needs redecorating properly, could be lovely and have a nice ambience with some love and tlc, but in it's current state it's very tatty and poorly maintained. Train your staff and raise the quality of food and service overall. A pub this size and in this location should be the heart of the community. Also the toilets haven't been decorated for decades, please give them some attention.

A lovely choice of dishes on the menu, cooked by a proper chef that clearly knows what he’s doing. Friendly service in a convivial village pub atmosphere is great too.

Top Notch as always. Best in town and best prices too.
