I ordered a garlic bread and two pasta dishes. The app said delivery by 7pm. At 7.20pm I phoned to see where it was at. I was advised my postcode wasn’t on the list to be made so must be already out for delivery. Now Pitfire is only a two minute drive, so by 7.40pm, I chased it again. I was then told by a different member of staff it left 5 minutes ago so will be with us anytime Ute now. It finally arrived and wasn’t it’s usual piping hot temperature. It was as if the lady driver had been home and left our food in her car to get cold. It was just about warm enough to eat, so of course one of the pasta dishes with cream sauce was starting to set! We ordered through Crosby Eats app,which is usually very good and the food usually arrives either just before the suggested time or earlier. We love their food and order lots of time from them. But will have to give them a break for a while to let them sort themselves out. My advice is to chase your food soon after the suggested time

My wife and I came here for a pizza one evening to be told by the two employees there that they were too busy to serve us. I thought at first they were joking but no, they were serious so we left. We have been turned away in other places over the years because they were fully booked/about to close but this was a first at a pizza place which doubles up as a take away and an eat in, which had nobody else there and it was only about 7.30pm. Very strange.

Very grumpy service. Whilst waiting for the pizza to cook we were told they didn't have the ingredients for the pizza I had just paid for after all, but no apology and no refund offered, the guy just asked what else we wanted instead in a very grumpy manner. My friend didn't get all the ingredients that should have been on their pizza either. Dough was nice, but pizza very oily and could have done with longer in the oven, and they weren't over-generous with the toppings. Overall I would not reccomend this place..service is as important as the food guys!

The main food was great. We had 4 different pizzas and they were all delicious, as were the garlic doughballs. However, the cannoli was awful. Do not order. It should probably be removed from the menu. Lemon cake was nice although a bit pricy for what you get.

Best Gluten-Free pizza I have ever had. Can highly recommend regular and gluten-free pizzas. Proper woodsmoke flavour and generous toppings. Great job

This review is for the south road Waterloo branch. I generally don’t leave negative reviews but I’m sorry but how this is called Neapolitan pizza is beyond me. I ordered pizza and the dough was dense and heavy with no or little air and I felt totally bloated after eating it. Neapolitan pizza should be light and easily digested but this was heavy had little flavour and sadly disappointing.

Hands down the best pizza in the uk, as an Italian the taste sent me back home, pasta and calamari was amazing too. The prices are cheap, too cheap if you ask me, I would have spent £100 on this master piece of a pizza. You will not taste food like this anywhere else in Liverpool. Thank you. I’ll be back everyday between 3-4pm

Orders my pizza at 5:30 for a 7:30 delivery, so i could put the kids to bed first. The delivery driver rang on the bell at 6:30, whilst i was bathing my kids. I rang the store in Waterloo, and the member of staff explained that they were so busy they thought they may sell out so just made the pizza up and sent it… it was stone cold on arrival, i presume the Crosby Eats driver doesn't have a “keep warm” bag. All in all, awful.

Excellent food especially the pastas. Slightly more expensive than an average takeaway but the food was worth it. Pizzas wood fired so tasted great and as mentioned nice variety of pastas cooked fresh. Some poor reviews relate to delivery service so decided ti call into the Waterloo branch and collect. Didn’t regret it and found the staff polite and welcoming. Will be calling back as the carbonara was beautiful and I’m fussy. I was impressed.

I normally make my own pizzas. This place is amazing. Definitely going to order again. Perfect base and great topping and fantastic customer service.

Can’t agree more with the delivery reviews. Pizza are delicious but the service and running of the place is an absolute disgrace. They literally get every order wrong in some way. Great pizza crap service

Crosby branch is a disaster. Delivery delayed nearly an hour so far and no sign. Food will be stone cold. Will be using Il Capitano from now on.

There is nothing more to add than this was the finest pizza I have eaten. The base was light, perfectly seasoned, and graced with a beautifully authentic topping of the freshest ingredients. What a welcome addition to the city.
