We visited this restaurant for a special occasion and unfortunately from the beginning we were disappointed. We had to ask to order drinks, starters and our mains. We also had to ask for basic essentials like cutlery. When the starters finally came out after 1hr and 4 minutes it was freezing and our kids didn’t get their starter for an extra 45 minutes. The mains came out as the starters got cleared which there is supposed to be a 15-25 minute waiting period to begin to digest our starters. The mains were brilliant but overall service was terrible and sadly due to that we will not be returning and will not be suggesting to family and friends.

We were seated outside but not told that that meant you had to order by using the app. When our order was finally taken we waited for over 40 minutes and I finally went inside to ask about our starter. Was told that the chef had dropped it on the floor, but no-one had bothered to come and tell us. Food eventually turned up. The starter was actually very nice, but the main courses were a bit plain.

The food was ok,but could be better...There was alot of uncleaned tables from previous customers.We had to sit for 45 mins beside a table for 8 that needed cleaned..When it was done the spilled food was still on the floor it was just awful...The toilet was unclean with no toilet seat and toilet roll all over the floor.I was looking forward to having this meal out with my husband because we are from out of town but we were very disappointed..We wont be returning.....

Laura was absolutely amazing when we arrived and they were busy! She said give me two minutes and immediately pushed a table at the back to accommodate all 9 of us having been turned away at most of the restaurants! Zizzi could not of been more accommodating she was great with my kids and my pregnant wife telling her all about what she ate when she was pregnant. My wife is very nervous eating since being pregnant and Laura took all that away! What a credit she is to your company! We will defiantly be back

We have visited this Zizzi’s a few times, as it was my daughter’s birthday, we thought we would visit again. When we arrived for lunch, the lady told us we couldn’t have pasta as they had a gas leak. We accepted this and stayed, The next people came in and sat near us, I overheard the male waiter giving the other people a choice of things they could have more than just pizza. I didn’t want to make a fuss so we ordered pizza. The next people came in and they were told the ovens were working and they could have what they wanted. No one came and told us the ovens were working again. We also ordered chips. We really enjoyed our pizzas, we had the rustic ones and there was plenty to be had ( I had to take some home with me). As we were eating the chips, my daughter lifted up one chip and found there was some sauce underneath it (meaning we had a dirty bowl), we explained to the male waiter that we were vegetarian so we were not happy not only because it was dirty but also we couldn’t be certain whether it contained meat. He did come back and resolved the problem.

Really poor service, poor food and won’t be going back. Order 2 kids meals which should have been starter, main and desert. After waiting 40mins the kids mains arrived and we were then told they ran out of starters, no apologies just dropped the plates. Food was cold an we decided to just get the bill an leave. No discount offered an wouldn’t deduct 2 courses that we didn’t have from the kids meals. Will not be going back

Had a booking for sat 22nd March but had to wait for a table, bookings were all messed up and very buzy. Service was very very slow. Staff were great. One of our meals was burnt and had to be sent back and the food did not come all together for the table some people had finished their meal before others were served!

Not good, unwelcoming staff with the exception of one girl. Restaurant layout is just off, doesn't make for a comfortable dining experience. Food... awful, over done, burnt, bland offerings, worst arrancini and bolognaise loaded fries I've had. Disappointing, as we'd been to the manchester Restaurant the week before which was such a good vibe and all meals had been lovely. Won't be returning to L1 Restaurant.

I’m not sure why this experience went so wrong as we usually have a nice time at Zizzis we’ve visited elsewhere. We were in Liverpool for my daughters to go to an open day at the Philharmonic and I had a gift card for Zizzi’s that needed using so we figured we’d use it. It’s my birthday this week so thought we’d double up as a birthday meal out, which I mentioned on my booking. We’d originally booked for 7:30pm but ended up finished with the open day and shopping much earlier so we wandered across at 6:30pm to see if they could squeeze us in. The lovely gent at the door made us welcome and said he’d clear a table for us, which happened nice and quickly. Result! However, then it all started to go down hill rapidly. We ordered drinks, which arrived fairly promptly and then ordered our starters and mains. More than half an hour later, a lone pizza turned up at the table. We mentioned that we’d not even seen our starters yet so the server took the pizza away and chased up our starters. About 10 minutes later the starters arrived, and they were enjoyable (garlic bombes, arancini, pollo fritas and calamari). These were cleared away and it was about twenty minutes before four out of five mains were brought to the table. Two of the mains were good but my daughter’s pizza (which I suspect was the one that had been brought before our starters) was stone cold. My son’s carbonara was absolutely tiny and wasn’t actually the chorizo one we’d ordered. We sent the cold pizza back and asked if they could add a bit more to the starter-sized carbonara. My husband and other daughter were more than 3/4 through their food before my main course arrived (together with the new pizza and carbonara). Once we all had our food, it was actually quite nice but my son was disappointed that his was the wrong carbonara. Once we’d received the bill, we saw that they had knocked off the price of the drinks because of our poor experience but there was no mention of it being a birthday meal (when we’ve been previously, the birthday person usually gets a small dessert) and I was really disappointed that I’d wasted my £80 gift card on such a poor meal.

If you’re looking for fresh Italian food this is definitely a good bet. The food is super fresh you can tell the bread was just baked and they make their own pasta. You can taste the quality of ingredients for sure. The service is really friendly as well. Would recommend!

Went in impromptu on a busy Saturday afternoon. We were greeted quickly, seated quickly and always checked on. The food was great, the drinks were great and the service was very good! There were a few out of stock items, these were communicated well to be fair to the team working (would have been more ideal to remove from the app ordering but that may be out of their control). Considering it was a busy Saturday the service wait times were good for food, towards the end of our meal when we ordered the last round of drinks it did take a little longer, but again the drinks themselves and the service were good! Would go again!

Visited Sunday 16th Feb, walk in party of 2. Staff friendly although waited quite a while to order, didn’t want to use the barcode as we had vouchers. Ordered 2 cokes and tap water - the cokes hadn’t been in the fridge, although glasses were cold. The jug of tap water was filthy, covered in bits of food both inside and out as if it had been washed with dishes rather than a seperate glass wash. This was replaced for us. For starters we got calamari and the chicken spiedeni. The chicken spiedeni had 5 little bits of chicken, 1 tiny tomato, and 1 piece of pepper, was really disappointing. The calamari was almost inedible, but was saved by smothering it with aioli - without, it tasted of nothing, not even salt. Not sure if they have changed to a cheaper supplier. All sauces came in plastic takeaway pots. Mains, we had calzone pollo spinaci and the primavera pizza. The calzone was tasty and overall really nice, I have this everytime I come to Zizzis - although notably this has massively reduced in size, but still a decent portion. The primavera was missing the goats cheese, the main topping. Instead (somehow) there was cold mixed lettuce on the pizza? We complained about the starters and were told he would speak to the chef but heard nothing back. Mentioned the primavera which was taken off the bill, which we appreciated, but still paid for the starters. Felt too bad complaining again that we didn’t really want to pay for them. Overall really disappointed, Zizzis has been a favourite chain for years but it seems prices have gone up, quality and size has massively gone down. Likely won’t visit again.

A Truly Disastrous Experience – Avoid at All Costs Went to Zizzi with my best mate to end the week on a high, expecting a great meal since he’d always loved it there. Instead, we left completely disappointed. First red flag: the water jug for tap water had bits of dried food stuck inside. Not just a little grime—actual food debris. If they can’t even wash something as basic as a jug, what does that say about the rest of the hygiene standards? The food itself was just as bad. My chicken kebab starter (Chicken Spiedini) was dry, bland, and utterly unremarkable. My friend’s calamari tasted of absolutely nothing—he might as well have been eating packing peanuts. We had to ask for an extra pot of garlic dip just to get some flavor, and not only were we charged extra, but the dips came in cheap plastic takeaway pots. Then came my main course, the Primavera pizza, which was an outright mess. It was supposed to have goat’s cheese, artichokes, spinach, fire-roasted peppers, olives, mozzarella, Sunblush tomatoes, rocket, and Genovese pesto. Instead, I got a sad-looking pizza with no goats cheese, no spinach, no rocket. What I did get was a pile of crunchy bagged salad lazily dumped on top. The whole experience was frustrating, overpriced, and completely underwhelming. Safe to say, we won’t be coming back.

Staff here were so so nice, can’t fault them. However, service was very slow. Took 1hr 15mins to receive starters. I asked for a soft drink three times and after 2hours received the wrong drink. Asked for garlic mayo, never received. My pasta main (and my friends pasta) tasted almost stale, like it had been re-heated, quite chewy. The sauce was delicious but it was ultimately inedible. Other people’s pizzas were apparently lovely though. I noticed that a few other tables were also complaining. Didn’t complain at the time as staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Wanted to leave review here so that it can be learnt from in further training maybe?

On our first night in Liverpool we decided to go to Zizzis and it was the best choice. Although the first meal I ordered was accidentally dropped and had to wait for another meal to be made, the food was amazing and the staff was so kind especially Jason who ensured my dinner was made quickly and it was definitely worth the wait. We had such a lovely evening and was definitely made better by Jason and the rest of the staff.

In Liverpool City Centre for 1st time in ages… went to Zizzi for lunch (we hadn’t booked) there appeared to be plenty of tables downstairs, and despite asking to stay down stairs (have mobility issue where told no table available downstairs 🤷♀️ went up two flights of stairs (slowly) ordered 2 x pizza 1 chicken and 1 pepperoni, as we where not driving decided on a cocktail for me which was Spanish blood orange gin etc…came in a tall glass with just ice? Not dressed at all, no fruit, no straw? Nothing and for £10.50 expected a bit more, my partner ordered a pint of peroni and the glass they brought was filthy, so right away pointed that out to the waitress who said, oh I noticed that ? Why bring a dirty glass in the 1st place, when pizzas arrived there was hardly any topping on them and again fir £16.00 odd you would expect better, partners pizza was ok, but mine was cold in the middle and I mean cold, as if not even been in the oven? Immediately told the waitress who took it away and 10 mins later it was replaced by this time my partner has finished so I ate alone, and there wher other complaints from the next table about burnt food. All in all very disappointing, they did remove the charge for my pizza 😔

£18 for a carbonara. I ate it in 6 fork fulls. We were greeted at the door, walked halfway through the restaurant, then notified that they basically had 50 percent of the menu missing, still standing up next to someone else’s busy table. Literally pointed to around 10 different dishes on the menu and expected us to remember everything that was unavailable. Then got seated, came back and told us that all the ingredients were missing for my son’s pizza but she was gonna do us a massive favour and put it through as a plain cheese on the bill.. wow thanks. When walking to toilet there was an extremely short, male member of floor staff lambasting the chef who clearly had a very basic grasp of English, talking to him in an extremely condescending tone and trying to embarrass him about not understanding his instructions. There is nothing worse than going for a meal and seeing staff members being mistreated. Last time I felt like this in a restaurant was TGI Fridays. Quality down, portion size down and prices up. Me thinks Zizzi is living on borrowed time.

Staff seemed to spend most of the time chatting. Didn’t really like that everyone was seated in the same corner felt quite cramped, it was only 7pm, I’d understand later on in the evening! Vegan rainbow lasagne and lasagne both sold out super disappointed that’s what we’d usually both order… the beef pasta was so disappointing, barely any beef in it honestly! Usually have such a good experience with zizzi. Garlic bread here usually comes with caramelised onions as standard as it states on the menu but this was plain, and when I paid it said I’d chosen to have this way, I did not! Nothing special at all really disappointed all round actually! Such a shame!

Went here as it was one of the places still available and i’ve had previous good experiences from other locations however this one was underwhelming. we were let in and were told that we had to be out in an hour which is understandable as it was a friday night, our order was taken promptly however, what wasn’t done promptly is the drinks being brought over, for about 5-10 minutes our drinks were stood on a tray whilst the staff members stood around and spoke, as someone who has experience in the hospitality industry, i know the guest should be dealt with first however for some reason this wasn’t the case here, the drinks where then brought over once the staff members had finished their conversation, food then arrived quickly after this, and the pizza which i ordered was good, however my partners pasta dish was slightly above average at best, all in all, the experience wasn’t the best

There is so much choice in Liverpool for restaurants and Zizzi seemed like an easy safe option. We were lucky to get a table as for the next hour or so we saw a constant stream of people being turned away. Service was slow but then having said that certainly not rushed! Our pizzas were serviced hot and tasty, mine a Rustica Piccante was also fiery hot. Young chap serving us was welcoming and friendly.

Manny is the best thing about this place—honestly, he’s the reason the reviews aren’t below three stars. Twice now, I’ve been seated by another server who then completely forgot about us for 30 minutes. No drinks, no orders taken, just left waiting while others who arrived later were already getting their food. But thankfully, Manny came to the rescue both times, making sure we were finally taken care of. The food is alright, but without him, the service would be a disaster.

Writing this review as hopefully a wake up call to the Zizzi chain. This was my first, and last, time at any Zizzi. The poor hostess/waitress seemed like the only member of staff working front of house and still managed to smile and try to offer decent service. I felt so bad for her. The food was absolutely horrendous. Like it was taken out of the freezer and reheated. The only reason I found myself there was because my 9 year old niece likes the food. Which says all you need to know about the standard. The restaurant itself was also in a poor state with the waitress having to put napkins under table legs for the couple next to us, and half of the toilets were out of service. Another couple left the restaurant shortly after sitting down because I think they sensed the way the evening would go if they stayed. I was jealous. Please do not spend your money here. I felt robbed when I left.

The order never got delivered. ETA showed up as 8 pm, then it became 9 pm, then it became 10 pm. The entire experience with Uber Eats was a joke !!!

Lovely food and lots of options for me as I am gluten-intolerant. Manny was our waiter and he was very polite and attentive. He made sure that I was clear about any possible cross contact. Would definitely recommend.

Our visit to the restaurant was alright, the staff were courteous and appeared to be doing their best. It soon became obvious that they were running with too few staff to adequately service the amount of customers. Which made the dining experience awkward for us, witnessing the staff trying to keep up with demands. That said the food was very tasty and with the exception of the price (which I expect was expensive due to the location) we were happy with the food.

If you’re a fan of Asian food like me—especially Chinese cuisine—Renshaw Street Food Market is a must-visit! There’s a great variety of options to choose from, and everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious and authentic. It’s my go-to spot whenever I’m in the area. Bonus points for the clean toilet facilities, which is always a big plus when you’re out and about. Highly recommend!

I went with four acquaintances to little Italy anfield I ordered a chicken and donner wrap with chips and red salt the chicken was soggy and tasted like bodily odours and my kebab was like rubber my wrap was also Very soggy my chips had not a single drop of red salt and tasted funny I will not be coming back the people behind the counter didn’t help and didn’t take my order for five minutes and laughed at me poor quality and customer service
