Tried this place a few times as they offer a lot of vegan options but unfortunately each time it comes burnt. I like woodfired pizza don't get me wrong, but the charred, smoke flavour just takes over and is the only thing you can taste.

All the bad reviews all I can say is I called in on the way home from work got 2 margarita pizzas it's was done the traditional Italian pizza might of waited 15 20 minutes but all round best pizza

On arrival, the man who greeted us was angry and rude. He even got told off by another member of staff, had to go back in 20 minutes. Don't know why we bothered. Burnt to a cinder brushetta. which was basically burnt bread and cherry tomatoes. Whoever cooked this needs to see and taste real brushetta. Next was spot the bolognaise, overcooked spaghetti with barley any sauce. Truffle and parmesan fries, hadn't been near parmesan or Truffle they were red salt. Garlic bread with cheese, think the cheese got off before we collected. 4 pieces of chicken in the carbonara. There was a 50% off offer, it would have been overpriced if it were free. Avoid

I order quatro formaggi pizza ,arrive very cold and a tiramisù which I couldn't eat because taste of onion.I guess I was the last one on list,if I know I will go to take it at least them have to tell me when I call to ask.on my order was delivery on 17.10 and the order arrive 17.58 Never again.

Food took two hours to come and when it did it was cold and wrong. Phoned up and they said they’d send a new one round but never did. Never order from here, EVER!

Cold food with chewy dough. Two pizzas ended in the bin. Would not recommend!

I ordered a garlic bread and cheese pizza and it was absolutely disgusting

The pizza is usually good but just ordered and got a confirmation for the order with an estimated delivery time, 50 minutes later (and way past the estimated delivery time) got a message saying the order has been cancelled because they’re unable to fulfil it. Why accept the order in the first place?!

Food was late, it smelled delicious and looked nice but it was cold and really doughy but burnt on edges and underneath. Won’t be ordering from here again.

First order and my last. Delivery time nearly 2 hours Food COLD and BURNT. Not acceptable will request a refund Good free garlic bread, so what if burnt!

Ordered 2 pizzas and some chips with cheese, it came around 40 minutes after the estimated delivery time, excuse was they were busy, all the food was stone cold and I mean cold, considering I live 5 minutes up the road from them this isn't acceptable, the meat feast pizza may aswell of been a mozzarella, there was hardly any meat to be found, as for the chips they were even worse, meant to be cheesy chips and look at the state of them, had this twice now, first time I thought mistakes can happen, second time just isn't acceptable and looking at the reviews alot of people saying the same thing

Nice tasty pizza, if only they actually put toppings on, 3 slice of pepperoni, 4 bits of chicken and 4 bits of pineapple on a large pizza is pathetic, Oh and an hour and a half wait for a look warm pizza

Pizza should have been delicious but the base tasted like burnt tar and left a butter taste

Food: Was really nice. Had the classic pepperoni. Service: Terrible. Gave 50p tip and was nice towards him. Asked him politely to add more cheese. He refused which was rude. Atmosphere: Nice big pizza oven but chef wasn't wearing gloves and had the dirtiest apron on that looks like it hasn't been cleaned since he started working there.

Pizza was chewy and overcooked. Dont waste your money

This was the second time we've ordered takeaway our from here, both times we've been impressed with the quality of the food upon arrival. We tried the parmesan and truffle oil fries and they were delicious.

Ordered from here at 8 o’clock on a Tuesday afternoon, said it would be delivered by 20:50… then 21:05… then 21:20, with a notification to say enjoy your food, even though it hasn’t been delivered. Tried calling them 3 times with no response. Terrible service!

Do not order the buy 1 get one free its just to get u to order they will not send ur free pizza, and then the driver gives u abuse and says its not an offer any more but as u can see it clearly states on there app buy one get one free!!

Only the second time ordering from here but the pizzas are some of the best I’ve had! Lovely topping choices that are a bit different to the run of the mill. Full of flavour. Chips are amazing too. Would definitely recommend.

Home delivery, service was fantastic, pre booked for between 5 and 5:30, they called at about half 4 as my chosen meal wasn't in and gave me a long list of replacements which was excellent, food came bang on 5:30 it was lovely. Thank you Pitfire :)

More like Stone cold pizza than stone baked pizza....if ordering, mKe sure you oven is on for when it arrives to reheat it...not happy

So confused by the negative reviews. Our favourite place to get pizza. The dough is incredible! People complaining about delivery times.. maybe blame Uber Eats?

Ordered 2 pizzas on a quiet Monday night. After 1.5 hours we called to see where the delivery was. “The delivery guy is almost there!” we were told. 40 minutes (and a few phone calls) later, they’re still telling us the same thing. We live a mile away. They either need to do much better or manage expectations better - hungry people aren’t always the most patient people. Update: when the food arrived, it was (unsurprisingly) cold.

2 hour wait and food cold on arrival

I hate to leave a poor review, but I’ve just had my pizza delivered and it was actually cold. Not warm, stone cold. Had to put it in the oven to reheat it. The pizza tasted nice, but if you aren’t gonna put them in a thermal bag and deliver it cold it’s pointless, sorry, just wanted to be honest. Food is fab tasting, just ice cold

Pizza cold and delivery driver had 0 change which made things difficult.

Had pizza from here three times now. The first two times the pizza was quick and delicious. However this was walking in and ordering takeaway. Not eaten in. I ordered from my house for the third, the pizza was 20mins late, which I’m fine with, but it was ice cold. Not to mention I asked to pay cash and the driver had 0 change. Would have squared it off but didn’t have any notes either. Made things very difficult. Disappointing as the pizza is nice and quick if you order off the street. Looking at other comments this place should avoid any kind of delivery service untill they have a proper system in place.

Pizza was cold and chewy and over spicy(could only taste chilli flakes) over priced for what it is. Parmesan chips were over cooked and tasteless, don't think they even had parmesan on. Spaghetti was hot but to spicy.

Pizza and truffle fries were nice, would have been really good if they were cooked just a tiny bit longer. Tiramisu was nice but needed defrosting a little longer as was frozen in the middle. Food could have been superb with these little extra details, but I would order again as pizza quality was really good 😊

Ordered some pizza to munch during a movie night. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, paired with some pizza. Sounds lovely doesn't it. Anyway, we got through The Fellowship of the Ring and still no pizza. It took that long we forgot about it. Didn't realise it hadn't arrived until the Battle of Helms Deep during the Two Towers. Called the restaurant to see when the food will arrive. The guy said it will arrive in a few moments. Anyway, Gollum had already bit Frodo's finger off and fell into the depths of Mount Doom for a very gruesome death before we got our pizza. Very disappointed.

Pizzas were absolutely perfect, just like when we first ordered! Everything was fresh, chips were crispy, the diavola pizza was so good, and I definitely recommend it! Thank you.

I've ordered from Pitfire a few times now (collection and delivery) - the only thing I'd mention is if you specify a collection time they often don't have the food ready and make it when you arrive - never been too much of an issue for me as I only ever get one pizza at once. Vegan options are great too.

We decided to go pasta tonight instead of pizza. Although the pizza’s are delicious, it is annoying they are only cut in quarters. So back to the pasta, we ordered carbonara with tagliatelle and one with penne. What a delight. They were extremely tasty and lots of it. We had a garlic bread as a side (again cut in quarters!). Recommend you try the pasta dishes

Pizza and chips arrived cold and the delivery was 55 mins late. Had to call the restaurant and use the just-eat text feature to find out where the delivery was. Not a great experience

Pizzas & truffle fries absolutely gorgeous!

This was our 4th time ordering, the first 2 where amazing best pizza we've eaten for a long time, the next one wasnt as good and was missing chilli flakes tonight's was missing chilli flakes and rocket and where not very hot the chips on last 2 occasions haven't been crispy like the first 2 orders we placed, i understand the distance can have an effect but first 2 orders where sooo good so something is different

I placed my order at 19;20, with a delivery estimate of 20:00-20:20. It arrived 21:25, the pizza stone cold and soggy, as were the chips and instead of the tiramisu I ordered, a slice of chocolate cake. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from pit fire again!

I don’t know why pitfire has such a low rating on here it’s the best pizza place on here! It’s as good as the other (more expensive) one in the same area, same amazing woodfired pizza only better because you can get truffle and parmesan fries from here too!

Disappointing. They offer vegan pizzas but regularly don’t have vegan cheese available. If you’re going to offer vegan food, take it seriously or remove from your menu. I bet they never run out of dairy cheese. When they do have vegan cheese, the pizzas are great.

I had a stone in my garlic bread that I bit into and also the spaghetti bolgenese was just a bowl of plain pasta it had no mince just some waters dregs of sauce absolutely terrible did you not think people would notice?

Delicious fries, and the pizza was so close to being amazing. It just needed an extra couple of minutes in the oven for the base and toppings to crisp up a little. Other than that it was great, and I’d order from here again for sure

It was a nice Sunny day and walking past this place we decided to try it out with being a wood fire Pizza place. Got told it's 12" pizzas but it's more just under 10". After waiting for more than 30/40min. We got the pizzas. They looked good but after my first bite it was downhill from there. It's Extremely Salty the dough was nice but the flavor just wasn't right but overall it's the amount of SALT that made it so bad!!! Such a shame

Not a massive fan of this place, unsure if it was a one off or if this is the standard as it was my first time ordering. Ordered though uber eats, arrived quicker than the estimated delivery time. Most of the food arrived hot. Carbonara was lacking in flavour and pasta was overcooked. Lobster ravioli was nice, but the cheese in the sauce was not to my liking would rather it just be something less overpowering with a flavour like crab/lobster. Pizza toppings were okay but I expected actual prosciutto on the prosciutto pizza, not just chunks of ham. The pizza base was very doughy not what I would expect from a fire baked pizza. Tiramisu looked appetising, but I was very disappointed when I went to take a spoonful and it was frozen. Overall, it was all edible but left me very disheartened for spending money on it.

Tasty authentic vegan pizzas and quick service, we took them away to eat on the beach.

Pizza was so good, apart from the garlic bread it was burnt on the bottom and thats all we could taste but other than that it was really good will definitely order again

Absolutely the best pizza I’ve ever had! It was the pesto vegan which was so delicious. I would highly recommend Pitfire to others.

Pit fire is a absolute disgrace, they say 50% off on the crosby eats app then refuse delivery? But you can walk in and order but refuse the 50% off! Very disappointing and should be removed from the crosby eats app. We will not be eating from them again. Avoid!!!

Had a vegetable pizza (choose your own), and the lobster and crab meat ravioli and it was DELISH!!! Will defo order here again

food arrived piping hot fresh was gorgeous only thing was arrabiata was far too spicy to eat and I can normally handle a spicy arrabiata but this one had jalapeños in so couldn’t eat it but apart from that everything else was lovely will try different pasta next time as food was fab

First time ordering from Pit Fire. Extremely disappointed. Pizzas were very cold, as was the fries. Also delivery was 15 minutes late which would have been fine if the food had been hot. Will not be ordering from this establishment again.

Pit Fire Waterloo is perfect. We buy pizza and we see have was baked in owen with wood fire. Was fresh, tasty and if you go there, try...

This place has extremely bad hygiene, watched the pizza maker pause making the pizza to walk out of the take-away shop, coming back and continuing to make our order, without washing his hands which is mandatory. He then dropped the peel (the tool to slid the pizza into the oven) on the floor, continuing to lift the pizzas after. Whilst watching the cooking pizzas he leant on the peel and the part that is in direct contact with the pizza was on the dirty floor. Absolutely no sense of hygiene. After checking on the pizzas he again leant on the peel and again the metal part was on the floor. The chips where then put on them being cooked in a dirty, greasy fryer. The chips came from a bag that was left open and picked up off the floor! Among over bags of chips and a box, all lying on the floor. After putting the chips in oil that I wouldn’t doubt hasn’t been changed in an healthy amount of time, he then just threw the bag of chips into a box on the floor. I’m also adding on that the chips are bagged which look like they are from the local shop which is not matching the information offered on their menu. With unwashed hands he sprinkled flavouring on the chips. Any wonder there were 0 other customers to ring or come into the take away whilst we were present. There was another man in the back we could see mopping the floor with a dirty mop and the floor was still dirty, he was mopping dirty water around the floor. The area around the bags of open chips (that are served daily) was stinking with dust, old chips, frozen chips and burnt chips along with flour and sauce. I understand pizza shop floors will have pizza flour on the floor during busy times but this was not a busy time. All food was thrown in the bin and this take away needs to be inspected. Pit fire pizza is not worth 1 star.

2nd time I've ordered food. Last time I had missing items and food wrongly described so when delivered couldn't be eaten by one of our party. I messaged them without a reply. Gave them another chance. Food is currently over 2 hours late, he said I can pick it up if I want it or he can refund me. Still waiting for refund from last time! He offers 35% off on Crosby Eats for a reason. Don't use this company, absolute joke! Would have given no stars if had the option.

Authentic Neapolitan pizza, 100% recommended 🇮🇹

If your looking for pizza in Waterloo this is the place. The crust was airy and delicious, the toppings were tasty and of high quality, and the fries and Nutella dough balls were to die for. However I’d recommend either dining in or taking out because delivery takes a while.

Pitfire is by far one of my favourite places to eat. The pizza is made fresh and uses the tastiest ingredients. I can't explain how good the pizza is, there's a reason the owner won best pizza awards. My favourite pizza is chicken, pepperoni, mozzeralla, and garlic. It's my "go-to" pizza. The pasta dishes are equally amazing, and I've sampled most of the side dishes. As for the prices, they're the best. You get a lot of food for your money and the customer service is second to none. I'd recommend Pitfire to anyone. It's one of the best restuarants in Waterloo (and Liverpool).

Ok so the first time I ordered was from a friend's recommendation. When I received my order the pizza was cremated and the loaded fries were l..... Lacking loaded. But because I like to give places a second chance, because maybe they had a bad night, and also because there was a decent discount on the app, I re-oreded. But boy did I make a mistake. My pizza was horrid. Not only did we wait over 2 hours and multiple calls but the worst was when it arrived, the chicken on the pizza was hard, the cheese wasn't melted and the garlic bread was repulsive - no, it was completely tasteless. I have one positive though, the fries were beautiful. In this case third time is not lucky as I wouldn't waste my money on this place anymore

Ate in. Brilliant margarita. Best crust I think I've had so far ever. Red, green and white on top. Wood oven fired red hot. Simply cheesy blistered fruity herby simple perfection. Taking an adult and a bottle of vino rougo next time. Rejoin asap.

As other reviews state - they always mess up orders. They have a vegan menu but both times we've ordered they've used regular cheese. Delivery is extremely slow and when you ring they say they're too busy to send another one out. Literally took over a week to get our replacement the first time we used them. The second time I just drove to the restaurant to get a refund.

Not even worth 1 star ... ordered last week got order totally wrong. Rang not even an apology. So Saturday 4 days later friends came for a nite at mine they wanted pizza so we gave this place a second chance .placed a large order at 9pm. To be told 20mins to half an hour . 10.30 still no order.Rang to be told o sorry we will cook your food now . Wow what a place very unprofessional . Poor poor service . Becareful ordering food from here you either get the wrong food.or no food at all .. SHOCKING PLACE

Authentic Italian restaurant, proper napolitan pizza and delicious pasta. The staff is very friendly and polite, I 100% recommend it.

Great Neapolitan style pizza, made with quality products. Staff is superb, friendly, accommodating and chatty! If you’re in Waterloo and need to fix your pizza crave, this is the place!
