Piri Piri Original in North Hertfordshire

Ordered food from this place at 756pm this evening, it's now 938pm and still no food, spoke to someone at 830pm and was told 15/20mins, still no show and no answer on the phone, not ordering again very disappointing

I don’t know what they put on these peri chips but they are unreal and we are addicted! Great service and food, as always

So good we had it twice in 1 week. Cheep and cheerful. Best coleslaw I’ve ever had! High quality chicken. Spicy rice was lovely.

Peri Peri is something of a hidden gem! Good fresh food. Friendly accommodating staff, they recognise their repeat customers. Their dine-in areas could benefit from being updated, hence 4 stars.

Always pay so much attention to delivery notes and personalising an order! The peri chips and spicy rice are 10/10, such great flavour and generous portions. A favourite in our house

Didn’t even delivery my food . Rang up told me it was couple minutes away 3 times 2 and half hours later no show

Hi I came to the peri peri shop for water for my son as he was feeling sick. I asked the guy behind counter how much is water who told me it was a £1. I then accidentally gave him 2 five pound notes which were stuck together and had to ask him to give me a fiver back. If I had not he would have gladly put both fiver pounds in the till. He insisted on cash which he did not input into the till which is tax evasion btw. They have a halal sign so assume they are Muslim even know they are dishonest and nearly ripped me off - another Muslim. Will never order from here and will report them for tax evasion. Avoid at all costs

Left items off my order was rude down the phone and food is poor quality. Avoid this restaurant Js grill is better

When placing the order it said 30-50 mins but ended up being nearly 2hrs and delivery not updated on the app. Had to call and food not the best when it arrived. Used Peri Peri a lot but will be going elsewhere now

As well as the order being late my chips were missing so i had to wait again for them to be delivered.

After over 2 hours of waiting, and multiple reassurances it was on its way, nothing showed up. AVOID

Food arrived cold and was 30mins late. No communication from vendor so say they were running late. Rude customer service when calling and asking for a refund.

My food parcel is full leakage and driver gives me in this bad condition and bad thing is that i give oder directly to shop not from uber eats where i have no chance to refuse to accept this bad oder and complain to shop and they ignore as usual and says me it’s happening sometimes

You lot are so pathetic, you have no manner when it comes to speaking to people. Ali Majid Tariq needs to fix up his attitude. This company sits and argues with their customers when they make mistakes with peoples orders. Ali majid Tariq refused to give his name after cussing my sister. How delusional can someone be that they can’t even own up to their mistake. They act like little boys and have 0 knowledge about customer satisfaction. Your manager is no better, since he’s employing rude people like you. Those who are reading this review kindly watch this space to see how rudely they respond, that’s all they are good for!!

20 minutes late - when I rang he had only just left when I chased it as it was already over 15 minutes late. Food wasn’t particularly hot and chips weren’t great.

they sent me the wrong item, had to call up 4 times to chase it up as it took an extra hour to deliver… rudest most illiterate counter staff Ali majid tariq refused to give his name, dealt with my complaint in a very disrespectful manner, shouting down the phone and hang up on me multiple times. only managed to get a name thru the delivery driver will be coming in to speak to the manager about what kind of staff he is allowing to work here.

Chips and wedges cold and not fresh. Disappointed that you have to pay for sauces where in the past they came with the meal. Portion sizes smaller too

I was told it’s on its way, and that they was very busy but from then another 30 mins passed and still no food. I live 10 mins away. Food quality was really good but drinks was warm sadly. the order was at least 30min late. I called when it was 15min late, only to have the person who answered cut me off me sentence to tell me it would be 5-10min more. Once the food arrived it had 2 items I did not order (hash browns and chips) and was missing an item (2x pitta). Service was rude and the food was late and incorrect.

Please avoid this peri peri i had ordered a lamb kofta and it was taste less burnt and black 100% wasn't fresh n when i told the guy on till he didn't gave any attention n just ignored whatever i said not recommended to anyone looking for good peri peri taste n fresh food.

Hands down best peri peri original in hertfordshire area. This probably my favourite takeaway in Hitchin, just down to how consistent good they are. Fried chicken is perfect and not too oily. Grilled chicken is excellent whether it’s in burger, wrap or individual piece. Their beef smash burgers are the best I’ve ever had because of the taste and flavouring, no blandness at all. Their sauces are great and go with anything on their menu. Their staff are polite, friendly and always make my family and friends feel welcome we eat in. Food is always on time whether I’m collecting, eating in or ordering in. Pricing is standard with what everyone else charges but i feel i get my money’s worth here

Food says it was being delivered between 19:40-20:00 I phoned the shop and there was apparently a mistake! I’m still waiting for my food at 20:30! This is the second time in a row my orders have been late I won’t be using you again, absolutely terrible service

I would like a refund. The food arrived and it was cold. I called the takeaway and they said they could send me a fresh order but couldn’t confirm when they would be able to deliver it.

Peri-peri original is usually good, especially the one in Stevenage which isn’t too far from this one. However this one gave me food poisoning and an upset stomach.

The best takeaway place in town. The burgers are amazing. Always get a huge portion of chips. Had popcorn chicken and it was so nice- really fresh and well cooked. A firm favorite and never had a bad meal from here.

We have never eaten from here before but it was delicious and will definitely be coming back. Couldn’t fault it-although there were far too many chips haha.

food was OK, like warm at best (even though it was early). But an item was messing, so we phoned up and they were not apologetic at all and said we would only get the missing item if they got an order that was near us. so we had to ask for a refund. Quite shocked that they were not willing to rectify the issue so we had to order from somewhere else. We won't order from them again. Shame!

I’ve ordered from here lots of times unfortunately last night’s meal was incomplete instead of getting five chicken strips I got maybe two or three which should be chopped up and mixed with rice so that you couldn’t tell how many they were but they’re definitely wasn’t five whole chicken strips there and I didn’t order rice with that meal

It was very late and when the food arrived the chicken was under cooked so I had to put it in the air fryer the heat pack it came in was full of water from the chicken

Half of the food was cold, items missing. Called to see where missing items were, i was told they are sending someone and then they hung up. Suppose it's too much to ask for an apology.. Unfortunately it's unlikely we will order from peri peri again

Last week we had chicken and chips, and it was 5 star. so I reordered the same meal this week and its gone down to 2 star. The chips we're cold, and the chicken was lukewarm. Seams like it was reheated from dinner time. Sorry, will not be ordering again.

They forgot my can of drink. And the onion rings were a soggy mess. And last time I had a doner burger, it was peri peri flavoured and spicy, how I like it. This time the doner burger was 'just' doner meat! Think I'll stick to the chicken :)

Never had a bad meal from here. Just love the 1/2 chicken with rice. Delivery always on time or earlier. The burgers are also fab. Chip portions always very generous and freshly cooked.

Food is always very nice. Recently delivery time for my order has been creeping up to an hour. I ordered 80 minutes ago, yet my order has still not arrived.

Never received meal driver went to wrong end of town Didn’t read my notes that said I’m in shopping centre opposite the works he then said he would cancel my order So I gave a refund plesse .. drivers must read notes

First time ordered spicy wings was great, after that things went downhill, 2nd order tasted stale and most recent order for 6 wings tiny, each wing about 4cm long definitely not worth £5.76 even with a couple of extras thrown in, total waste of money!!

Haven't ordered from peri peri for such a long time fancied a change this week chicken was absolutely delicious it did not disappoint everything was a good temperature when it arrived but as much as the corn there is char grilled it's was so over done most of it was completely black we couldn't eat it so waste of nearly 6 pounds which was disappointing. Overall good quality beside that and will order again in the future
