Positives.... Attractive building and interior. Italian man who sat us was pleasant and friendly. Extensive menu and nice atmosphere. Negatives.... The waiting staff lacked professionalism and training. Firstly, when asked if we wanted to try the wine, she poured a little into a glass for tasting. However, after saying it was fine, she promptly put the wine bottle back in the ice bucket instead of serving it to the table. During dessert, the waitress started clearing our table despite 2 of us still eating. In hospitality, this is a no-no. You wait until all guests have finished eating. After that, the staff clearly wanted to go home, stood behind where I was sitting, just chatted, and yawned away. No one asked if we would like coffee's or a nightcap. As for the food, it was nice and enjoyable, but there was nothing to write home about, especially considering the price. I myself work in this industry and know it can be tough, but good service can really make or break an evening, and unfortunately, it broke ours. I think some good training with role play would easily bring the service up to a good standard. Normally, I would have said something. However, as friends were taking us out for dinner, it didn't feel appropriate.

We visited for an early dinner, and really enjoyed the food, it was very good quality and value for money. Service was a little on the brusque side. ***Please note: toilets are upstairs, steep stairs, so consider this should anyone in your party face issues with their mobility. This is the reason we would not return to this restaurant.

I would try to avoid this restaurant if you can - the manager is very rude and doesn’t seem to care whether you stay or go. The food is ok but overpriced There are plenty of restaurants to choose from locally and I wouldn’t take work colleagues there again nor my family -

Good food, large portions. Three of us all enjoyed our meal but my chicken and asparagus rispooto was too much to eat. The large prawns in garlic were delicious.

Excellent pizza and pasta selection. I had the Gorgonzola pizza which was delicious! The chilli in my husband’s pasta was to his taste - hot and spicy. The tricolore salad was perfect. Friendly and efficient service. The dessert menu looked amazing but we were both completely full. We hadn’t booked, just rocked up.

Firstly... this is good honest food. Fresh and healthy - ish (depending on what you order). The decor is a satisfying faux Mediterranean, although quite dark if the sun isn't out. We ordered the mussels to start and although the portion wasn't huge the accompanying sauce was outstanding. A rich tomato sauce with a very generous helping of heat. Respect to the chef for having the gall to add a decent amount chilli to a dish. This was the stand out part of the meal. The pizza was fine... tasty but a also little tough and hard to cut with a knife, so not as light or fluffy as I had hoped for. The cannelloni was fine, no complaints but also somewhat forgettable... I guess we expect a little more for a £16 pasta dish. Drinks are fairly priced and the staff were pleasant during a busy service. I'd go again but with several other authentic Italian restaurants nearby I'd hope to see Pinocchios really striving for perfection.

There is literally no better place in Norwich to eat... forget all other restaurants. First class service and food. Friendly owner and staff make it a perfect visit every time.

Went to Pinocchios last night after a recommendation from a friend. Had a lovely meal. It was the best risotto ever! Lovely atmosphere and fab staff!

Like stepping into Italy, Pinocchios what a gem to find! This was our second visit and it certainly won't be our last! Beautiful settling, amazing food and fantastic service. I celebrated my 30th birthday with friends and family, we pre ordered our food but everything was brought out in good time with enough gap in between courses, drinks flowing with lovely cocktails to enjoy and even got a birthday plate whilst the whole restaurant sang! Even after closing time there was no pushing us out the door, would highly recommend! Look forward to booking a table soon at the finest Italian in Norwich! Grazie ♡

This Restaurant is a long time favorite, never been let down by quality or service, just experienced another fantastic night out.

I booked this restaurant having wanted to try it for a couple of years and never getting around to it, and then after I booked it I read a couple of recent reviews and thought oops! But, hey ho I thought, I'll give it a whirl! I am so glad we did, I wonder if the reviews on here went to a different restaurant as I found all the staff very friendly and they couldn't do enough for us. The interior is very different and you certainly don't feel like you are in Norwich! Starters: We had two helpings of mushrooms and one of garlic bread to start - piping hot and beautiful flavours, very nice mushrooms. Mains: Chef's special penne - the beef was tender and everything went together so well and nicely balanced. Spaghetti carbonara for the youngest member of the family, which she enjoyed and wants us to do something like it! Pollo alla crema done very nicely and whilst that youngest person liked their carbonara, I think next time she is having this. We didn't have room for a dessert, but I did enjoy the Ichnusa, a couple of them went down a treat. Once tried you'll be hooked. Anyway, I highly recommend this little gem in Norwich and I want to say a big thank you to all the staff for looking after us that night, we will be back for more and trying something different. I believe it was the owner in there as well who spoke to us as we left, but we were chuffed that we ignored any bad reviews about this place, as either they went somewhere else, or had another reason for putting a dodgy review,

Lovely food, so much to choose from! Cocktails were really good. We were served very quickly, even though the restaurant was full the friendly staff worked hard & were extremely attentive. We received excellent service.

The menu promises so much, I was looking forward to my evening meal. What a disappointment. There is nothing worse than spinach that you can't chew. Starters ok but pricey for the amount we got. While the gnocchi was tasty, there was very little sauce. Maybe the extensive menu prevents fresh produce.

Went for birthday meal with friends. Treated like an inconvenience from start and almost bordering on contempt towards us from proprietor who was unwilling to give us recommendations to his menu and wine when we asked politely for his advice which we found very strange. Wine we chose was nice that was best part of meal. Food arrived looked nice but was over salted. The icing on the cake was when our evening was topped off when the waitress accidently by unremorsefully knocked bottle of beer over one of my friends whilst simultaneously spilling remnants of fish soup down my other friends dress and onto her lap. Bordering on fawlty towers and with no genuine apology, ans to our bemusement still added 12% service charge on bill. We hop stepped it out as soon as we could to seek dessert and coffee elsewhere. Unless you like being treated poorly it is one to avoid, which is sad because setting is cosy but service is terrible and food over salted

Lovely food but the waitress who served us was incredibly rude never cracked a smile or said please or thank you. We and the table behind us couldn’t believe how rude she was. It put a bit of a damper on a nice evening so much so that we all ended up discussing it outside. On top of that they had added a service charge of £12 which quiet honestly she did not earn. Tried to speak to the manager about it afterwards but he appeared in denial even when two tables told him they wouldn’t be back. Such a shame but there are many other decent restaurants in Norwich so don’t bother with this one,

The decor is lovely and Italian music could finally be heard, sadly overtaken by pizza express style pop music (stick to a good traditional identity and you will be local icons). The service is good and the restaurant is ideal for a romantic evening. I chose seafood risotto, the quality of ingredients was excellent, however, the unnecessary overloading of chilli ruined this fine dish. I would come back, but I would choose a different traditional dish.

Really enjoyed dinner here Saturday night as a group of four. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we had amazing service, friendly staff, great food and drinks! Menu is vast with something for everyone, also caters for all sorts of dietary requirements. Food is all fresh, portions are of s good size and full of flavours If you want a great authentic Italian dinner then this is the place to go

Visited Saturday evening, meal was lovely, staff not so....just no meet and greet, no pleasantries, not even to ask if everything was alright with our food. The waitress, a young girl did not smile once.... clearly she is not tin the right job role. The guy was no better who brought our drinks, I went to move the plates and knocked a glass, it did not spill but he tutted. The food was lovely, drinks over priced, our bill was £160 for 4 of us including the 10% service charge, which I paid due to the food being nice, the service itself was not so great...I wondered if they do the service charge otherwise they may not receive any tips. I don't think I would go back due to the lack of hospitality. Just comes across rude, therefore I would not recommend.

After discovering this gem last year I have returned many times. The pizza is sooo good! And the prices are very reasonable. Student friendly

Delicious food, warm welcome and a very good wine list. Every dish is beautifully presented and so tasty. The starter with snails is a particular favourite as is the subtly flavoured calves liver - Fegato alla Pinocchio. The liver is perfectly cooked, soft and slightly pink (although the chef is happy to prepare it to your liking) with a piquant sauce. Many thanks to all staff both front of house and in the kitchen for a delightful evening.

Food was nice , expensive for 2 of us to go out and eat .. drinks way over priced and desert was very basic . Also be careful of the fact they automatically add a service charge in the bill and card machine which we weren’t told about or asked if we wanted it .. that was nearly £10! Would like to say I would go back but probably won’t , for the price difference and comparison overall id rather go to a Bella Italia sadly .

We went on Saturday for a birthday meal. The welcome was pleasant enough and we were shown to a nice table in the back end of the restaurant. We waited about 10 mins before we were served initially. I felt this acceptable as it was quite busy. There was lots on the menu, we both had a starter followed by a main course, and we agreed the food was very tasty, and good value for money. The one down side was that the service lacked a little finesse, I have noticed this a few times especially among the younger element... Perhaps a bit more training? Especially as restaurants are habitually adding in service charge to the bill.

You can always get a solid meal here and choose from the large menu. I went for meat Tortellini for a change which arrived in short order. It was fine, but the dish had no real flavour, which was a shame. Service was friendly and prices are reasonable, but be warned they add an automatic 10% Service Charge.

We've been going here for decades and the food is consitently good, best Italian in Norwich, much better that Tratoria Rustica

Llegamos sin reserva un sábado por la noche después de tener dificultades para reservar una mesa debido a las restricciones del coronavirus. Estábamos encantados de ser admitidos y asignados a una mesa socialmente distanciada a pesar de que el restaurante estaba completamente lleno. Visité el lunes feriado bancario, lugar pequeño y extraño, me sentí un poco incómodo, la camarera nos hizo sentir incómodos, ni una sola vez sonrió, solo miró fijamente, tenía un plato de pasta que no era genial, se parecía a una mezcla de paquetes de pasta y salsa. El pan de ajo era encantador. ¿También fue abofeteado con un cargo por servicio del 10% que no se mencionó en ninguna parte ?? ‍ ??

La comida en sí era preciosa y el servicio de nuestros camareros / camareras era genial. Sin embargo, no pude evitar notar cómo el propietario trataba al personal: era particularmente agresivo y grosero, lo cual es innecesario, especialmente frente a los clientes. Los jóvenes miembros del personal en cuestión parecían muy incómodos y avergonzados. Luego trató de reírse de la situación y bromear con mi compañero cuando notó que lo estaban observando y que mi compañero no parecía impresionado.

Fui a la comida de cumpleaños de mis amigos el miércoles por la noche y tuve la comida y el servicio más increíbles. Incluso durante el plan de comida para ayudar en el que el servicio puede extenderse, nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y todas nuestras necesidades fueron satisfechas (¡incluso recibimos inyecciones de cortesía!). El restaurante parecía estar completamente lleno, lo que es un testimonio de lo popular que es el lugar. Disfrutamos mucho del vino tinto de la casa. ¡Primera comida después del cierre! Una experiencia encantadora, ya que no se sintió clínico a diferencia de otros lugares que he visitado recientemente. I love going to restaurants that remind me of meals in Italy. Pinocchios did not disappoint! The pizzas were authentic and the tagliatelle ai funghi was truly divine. A very good wine list (including Bardolino) and service made for a wonderful evening!!

I had 2 quickfire visits a month or 2 back. Tne second was on the strength of the first!Both times we visited midweek and it was quiet, the second time in fact we were the only people in the restaurant! Hance I can say the service was top notch and very attentive!Now the food, the food here is great. Everything freshly prepared and very authentic, very resonably priced too.The best Italian restaurant I have ever been to!

It has been a couple of years since we visited Pinocchios. Whereas once the food was fresh ,now it is insipid. The saltimbocca was one of the poorest I have had. The vegetables had been pre cooked and refreshed and were limp ,rubbery and tasteless. My wife's meal was no better.The service was desultory ,the prices expensive. Avoid.

We visited on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed but we had booked so there was no problem.There is a big menu with plenty of vegetarian options . Our starters arrived promptly but we did have a bit of a wait for our main courses.By the time we had ordered dessert the restaurant was nearly empty so these arrived promptly too.We all enjoyed our meals and the bill was less Ruthann expected which was a pleasant surprise.All in all a very good experience and we will return again.We have lived in Norwich for 26 years and never visited before which I am surprised about now.

Comimos aquí anoche y fue una delicia! Todos los platos estaban completamente limpios al final de la comida, lo cual es un verdadero signo de Dios. Mi compañero y yo tuvimos la pizza de pollo y un plato de ñoquis, ¡ambos estaban deliciosos y en realidad eran mejores que algunos de los platos que teníamos mientras visitábamos Roma el año pasado! Fabulous food and service. We were made to feel extremely welcome. As a fairly large group booking of 13, I sent in a pre-order food list for our main meals. We only had a 'one and a half hour' slot prior to going on to a show and this worked extremely well.

We were on a tour and a group of 10 of us attended Pinocchio's for our evening meal. We were welcomed by the waiter and once seated drink orders were taken. All good. The waiter then proceeded to take our food order, I was the fifth person to give him is order and the first to order an appetizer at which point I was told that I could not order an appetizer as no one else had - it would cause issues with the delivery of the main entrees. Others ordered appetizers so I did get mine but not my idea of service, especially when the restaurant was nearly empty. The food was excellent but the service was starting to get a bit lax. Once done we asked for the bill to be split by party and was promptly told that was not possible. One of us would have to pay the bill and then collect from the rest of the party. When we mentioned that other restuarants in Norwich had been willing to have each one pay individually and it was not an issue we were told that we were mistaken and that could not have happened. The waiter became quite agitated and argumentative to the point we all pooled our cash together to pay the bill. When I approached the till to pay the bill the waiter continued arguing with me that we were wrong about the other restaurants. So if you wish to visit go in groups of two.

I highly recommend this delightful and delicious independent Italian restaurant. The service was exemplary. Waiter was friendly and knew the very vast menu inside out. Decor very classy and oozed idillic Italy.

This restaurant sits is side-by-side with a number of other top class eating establishments in Norwich's trendy eating district. The décor inside is bright and Italian (unsurprisingly), but there's little atmosphere; we were the first gusts in that night.

El ambiente era encantador y no nos sentimos presionados en absoluto. Nuestras comidas principales eran deliciosas, al igual que nuestros postres. Sin duda volveremos aquí cuando estemos en Norwich.

Cena del sábado por la noche reservada. Muy ocupado. Impresiones iniciales muy buenas en cuanto a decoración, etc. Sencillamente sentado y ordenado. Starter eS excelente, los platos principales estaban bien. Después de terminar el personal de la red pareció que nos olvidábamos. No hay oferta de postre o café. Tenía que perseguir al camarero. En general no es una mala exp 6 pero podría haber sido mejor.

Fabulous foods, especially the pizzas, lovely wine and very friendly staff. They were very busy on a Saturday night and we were a tabale of 9 but the service was still great.

The atmosphere was very homey, it was warm and it had a lovely ambiance to it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Their Spaghetti Bolognese was delicious and their carbonara was very nice also. Their garlic bread was to die for. Would visit again.

Decided whilst walking past to go for dinner here, so glad we did! The food was absolutely divine. My friend and I shared the chicken gnocchi and the spaghetti carbonara, both of which were incredible. Also had the fried ham and mozzarella starter which was unbelievably good. The location is beautiful and the service was great - absolutely recommend Pinocchios if you want a great Italian whilst in Norwich!

Have booked a table for the Friday evening and even thought we have been seated straight away we still had to wait 20-30 mins to someone from staff to at least offer a drinks menu.

Early evening diners so we didn't book. The restaurant was already busy and we we seated at the back with other tables for 2. Speedy polite service for drinks and our main order taken by the manager I think. Seafood risotto was full of mussels, clams and squid and delicious. Gnocchi was also a good choice. The portions were a bit big but we polished them off! The mixed salad was beautiful with olives and more. No room for dessert unfortunately. As we left the restaurant was full and the atmosphere full of fun and laughter. They have lovely booths and beautiful painted walls. Recommended for quality Italian food and a great house red!

Great service friendly with a true Italian dialect. Full menu with possibly too much choice. Food was the best Italian I have tasted this side of the EU!! Great flavours and cooking from the mushroom starter to the Penne main. The mix of herbs incredible the spice was just perfect and to taste.. The food was served piping hot.. like in Roma..

Just back from having a wonderful meal. Easily booked online. Wide selection of tasty Italian food. Great service and so polite. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Lovely evening, lovely authentic food and great service! Our Waiter was very accommodating and amusing. I have now also been introduced to Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, delicious! Will return.
