Bao looked like it got beat up before it got to the table. If you’re Asian, this is not the restaurant for you. Tastes like culturally appropriated dim sum.

Excellent service from Danna. As always the food quality is great and delivered quickly. I only mark down to 4* as we were seated by the door and there was a cold draft when the door was held open by other customers. I recommend the Bao buns, and sweet & sour chicken.

Fantastic experience here - celebrating my mother's birthday, they brought out a complimentary dessert with a little candle, sang happy birthday to her without really being prompted beyond a mention in the reservation, and were generally really lovely, friendly and helpful. Excellent service throughout and lovely food as always. Special thanks to V and TG for looking after us and making a little celebratory lunch extra special, really appreciate both of your help and positive attitude!!

This restaurant was my local it has gone down the drain now bad service bad management and low food quality .

Great Dim Sum with a nice happy-hour offer on food and cocktails. Lots of variety. Poor Allergen Management. We were disappointed in our server. My colleague is coeliac and selected Yuzu macron on the specific Gluten-Free order sheet. Unfortunately our server brought Yuzu cake over (not even an option on the GF order sheet) and when we questioned this he tried to convince us it was a Yuzu macron and GF (it was not). It's a good job we stood our ground otherwise there could have been serious health consequences. No apology for the mistake. The server was also unsure on whether the condiments he brought to the table were suitable for coeliacs. The main issue was the severe language barrier (which would normally be okay but not when you need to get clarification on allergies). There were also a couple of other issues regarding miscommunication with our server and the dishes we had ordered.

We didn't know you had to book to get the 50% discount between 1-12 Jan, but sat down anyway. Nice buns and dumplings, orderly delivered on time. Nice vibe added by Sarah, who didn't serve us but always cleared our table with a nice smile. Lovely energy. A keeper.

It was very busy when we arrived, but the excellent staff found us a table without delay and the service continued to excel throughout our time there. The food order was taken quickly and the dishes arrived without delay - despite how busy the restaurant was. Each dish was well prepared and tasted great - and the alcohol free cocktails were most welcome.

Enjoyed the food etc but as it is london prices it is a bit expensive. But that said I'd go again.

The food was very good, however the amount of food is not enough. As recommended by the waiter, we ordered 5 plates to share between two of us however we did not stay satisfied with the amount of foot even after paying more than 50£ per two. We found it expensive.

Good food, well cooked and well presented but with small portions. Fast and courteous service. We chose the 40 pound tasting menu, varied and good, but the price is too high for what you eat.

Attended a large birthday party and had a set menu ordered in advance. The staff were great, the place was clean but I feel that the food was nice but not amazing. Perhaps this is the set menu, or perhaps the Ping Pong twist that meant this isn’t the same Dim Sum you get in China Town.

Ping Pong South Bank is an unmissable stop for those who want to enjoy authentic dim sum in a modern and welcoming environment, right in the heart of London. The variety of dishes is remarkable, from classic steamed dumplings to bao buns and skewers, all prepared with care and quality ingredients. The atmosphere is lively, ideal both for a dinner with friends and for a special occasion. The cocktails also deserve a mention: creative, well balanced and perfect to accompany the flavors of Asian cuisine. However, the prices are a little higher than average, so it's a place I reserve for special occasions. Despite this, the quality of the food and the overall experience makes every pound well spent. I recommend it to anyone looking for a unique taste experience in a spectacular location.

New Year's Eve at Ping Pong, such a great evening, worth the money for the 8 of us! So full after the meal, the Kids meal was huge as well, and they loved the gift and mocktails included in their price!

Great food and excellent location but the service is pathetic and really slow. The head staff and other servers had different information and no accountability on the ordered items. The head of staff has an imaginary company policy way of working which the untrained servers are not aware of and moreover defeats the whole purpose of having hot food served to the table. Literally every table asked to remove the discretionary service charge because of the bad service experience for the price point and delayed order.

Food was great. The restaurant was very busy and we seemed to confuse our very lovely server.

Little panda meals in the kids menu are nothing related to panda.

Good and certainly quality food, a place frequented mainly by locals, in fact when the waiter realized he was dealing with three tourists he didn't hesitate to add a 7.95 pound dish NOT ORDERED to the receipt, fortunately we were smarter than they thought and we pointed this out by not paying for it. Be careful if you are visiting London, always check your receipt... and ask for the tap water which doesn't cost anything

Love dim sum at Ping Pong. Came after a few years, used to go often when they were at St Paul. Quality of food is amazing. Black Prawn dumpling is divine and so is Jasmine Pearl tea

Food was decent but we had some food left off our order that we had to chase. The drinks were very overpriced, £8 for a pint and the cocktails were eye-wateringly expensive for how little alcohol there was in them, the alcohol-free versions were the same price, probably because of how little they put in there.

What a great place, the food was delicious and our server, Zahasst, was amazing. She gave us great choices for meals and we enjoyed it. The surprise dessert for my daughter’s 18th birthday was amazing. Thank you for making it a great experience 👍🏾

We love it! For a chain, the steamed dumplings are very good. They have a menu where you mark what you want. They recommend between 4 and 5 dishes per person. We ordered duck roll, delicious and spicy salmon tartare, chicken gyozas, and mushroom and leek dumplings, pork dumplings, and black shrimp dumplings, which are my super favorites! The service was very good and the place was nice although the bathrooms were not super clean. They are very careful with allergies which I love. Thank you!

Usually love this place as the only place I can get dumplings as someone who has to eat gluten free - but when we visited on Friday the atmosphere was all wrong. We were interrogated by three different waiters who threatened not to serve us, and I was given a sheet to read on what gluten was as though I didn't know. Staff made me feel like they wanted me to leave, and like I was a bother, although to my knowledge none of the items I ordered needed to be prepped differently than usual in order to be gluten free. Really disappointed as this is an indulgence I can't afford often, and having such a bizarrely hostile reception from staff for a dietary requirement they actively cater to really tainted the experience.

My first visit to ping pong. The menu mechanic had to be explained to us by the waiter, and it makes very little sense. You mark down what you want on a paper menu with the supplied pencil, manually writing any multiples. The waiters then come over and copy it down. Why not just order conventionally and not have to throw the menus away after every customer leaves? Service was attentive considering how busy the restaurant was. Food is decent, if you like dim sum. The Gyoza are quite authentic. At £180 for three people, I felt the restaurant was expensive for the "fast food" experience provided. If I returned, I wouldn't go for the £40 set menu, which was costly for the small amount of food provided for it.

2 Stars because the food is good, but not amazing, and the atmosphere is nice. But the servers are not attentive, nor really friendly. The ordering system where all people have to check their order on 1 paper is very time consuming and impractical for a larger group. And what’s the advantage of that? The servers had to be reminded multiple times of what we ordered because some thing just didn’t arrive and they obviously forgot to put the order in. It’s just not professional that a simple bottle of water arrives after all the food, and if you ordered the same item twice, one arrived half an hour later after asking two times! There are probably many places that are better organized, not chaotic like that and have better service (for the same price)

Slow service and bathrooms could be a lot cleaner. Food used to be better, lacked flavour this time around.

Nice dim sum place with a few good twists on the classics. Some of the specials are a bit overpriced but generally very enjoyable. It was really busy but our waitress Zsanett did a great job, really impressed with her service!

Food was ok but service was not the best, the staff at the door were very kind but the lady serving us made us feel bad about not wanting to pay the service charge when I asked if we can take it off she said 'Uhm... Well was the service not good.. sooo' to imply we should pay.. the service was not good because i was told my meal would take longer approx 12 mins which wasn't too bad so I said yes and it ended up taking about 20 mins in which time my friends were almost done eating and we were on a tight schedule for an event at royal festival hall. So we did have to rush to eat which was not great..

The food was okay, its not authentic dim sum, but they had some nice flavours and a good variation of choices, but the best thing about this was the service we received from Aish who was lovely and did everything she could to make sure me and my guest felt comfortable and were well fed. We hadn't made a booking which meant that we were eligible for the happy hour discount but Aish went out of her way to make sure we could get drinks half price and was extremely tentative.

Had a great dinner thanks to Zsanett, our waiter for the night, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience.

Amazing experience, and the good food and very rich

Been to most of the branches, this one is nice and is in a great location. Staff are generally friendly and helpful albeit a bit too busy. The food is good and well presented, however pricing is a bit stretched for what it is. The paper/pencil tick ordering method is clumsy, especially when you want to order multiple same items. They need to modernise this. Cocktails are good, especially the lemongrass one most come in mock-tail form and are equally enjoyable.

Great pre theatre dinner option. The service was quick and friendly, a really nice vibe and the food was very good too.

All staff very welcoming, as soon as we entered. Not at all phased that we had no table reservation despite one of our number being wheelchair user. The food was very tasty and given the overheads that the prime tourist area must attract, reasonably good value. Service offered by TG was exceptional, efficient, professional and helpful and very charming.

too tight spaced and tables where the flowers are decorated are so closed to each other that I am elbowing with other customers. The food were delicious. they don't serve it all at once but one at a time which was one of the downer for me.

Ping Pong is a cool and bustling place. Food is great. They found us a table for two quickly though it was very busy. Zsanett, who had charge of our section of the restaurant and made sure we got everything we'd ordered (not an easy task given the tiny tickboxes on the extensive dim sum menu) was great - warm, friendly personality and very attentive, professional and thorough.

The food was great and we opted for the lazy sumday. The staff might have been overworked and the place was extremely busy, came off as a bit cold and rude. Would definitely emphasise to check your bill - we were charged for three items that were a part of the deal. When pointed out the staff made a face and did not even apologies for this mistake. I was uncertain about coming here given the reviews but came anyway to see for myself. I had Zsannet as my waitress and wow did she work those tables. She was ridiculously busy even to correct an error on my bill from another staff member. Clearly they do not have enough staff on duty for the size of the restaurant. She was so fast, but as a result, it lacked a personal touch. She flew past my table at one point and my food landed in front of me! I still tipped her as she was amazing. Food wise, I'm conflicted. It was tasty. But the reviews are unfortunately right. Its over priced for the size of the portions. I had to order some dumplings after my main (pictured) as there just wasn't enough - and the honey chicken was £9.95! I probably wouldn't return which is a shame as the staff were so incredible, the ambience was buzzing but there needs to be more done about the value side of things I'm afraid.

Such a good deal for all you can eat Dimsum, I love this location and their dimsum deal is a steal. Highly recommend this place.

If your friends suggest this place, resist! Its a popular place and it was crowded when i went. The atmosphere is nice and so are the servers. But the food was horrible! The chilli chicken on rice dish was sub par (honestly I cook better at home and I've been cooking for less than 2 years). The dumplings literally was stuck to the bamboo basket and just disintegrated while trying to pick it up. The only thing that felt was as expected was steamed broccoli and crispy tofu! Honestly never again! - for context i don't eat beef and pork.

Het was na een lange dag wandelen door London erg leuk en gezellig om hier met z’n allen te eten en te drinken. Heerlijk ouderwets dim sum eten. Ook al was het druk we hadden snel een tafel gekregen. Verschillende soorten dim sum gekozen. Zeker aan te raden als je bij Waterloo station in de buurt bent.

Consistently great food and friendly service. Nothing flash but some real highlights on the menu! Great selection for veggies too!

Food was average. The original choices are missing, the list of items increased, but not Chinese dim sum. We were missing chopsticks/cutlery even after food arrived, we also had to ask for chili oil and chili sauce more than once. I regret not going to China town. Not the same as they were pre covid.

Loved the food, we had booking for vegan lazy sumday and it was great, the amount of food for £30 pp is absolutely worth it. Should include some soft drinks into the promotion tho. I didn’t like how loud was the place, obviously it’s a restaurant but the children were screaming and crying from every side. Not a very relaxing vibe. Waiting time for the food wasn’t bad but we had to wait over 30 min to get and pay the bill. Service was very kind.

This restaurant has a really good Lazy Sunday deal! Great vegan options, there was actually a lot of variety. Vegetable bun was a stand out!

We were served by Zsanett H. and she made the experience amazing for our first time in the restaurant. The dumplings are very hot but worth it. The glazed pork is very tasty. The area is quite crowdy but it gives the asian street food like vibes. I recommend.

Best place to visit if you love a good happy hour with cocktails and dimsum. Be warned that not everything on the menu is half price during happy hours, only those with "HH" next to it. There's a decent amount of selection, and the cocktails are great with a bit of asian fusion to it. Although, I ordered the elderflower sakitini, and it had the lychee flavour to it with everyone in my table ordering the lychee and roses cocktail. Service is quick, perfect if you're starving already. Great place for conversations with friends. You can drink asian cocktails and nibble on some prawn crackers and edamame for half the price.

Great food offers and lovely staff!

Visited Ping Pong recently and found the whole experience disappointing! Firstly, we were seated in the outside seating area which smelt like sewage so we decided to move inside as the smell was disgusting and putting us off! Once we were inside, we struggled to get the attention of any staff and the food and drinks took ages to arrive. They forgot one of our dishes so we had to wait another 15 minutes for that to come out. In general, the food was very low quality, didn’t seem fresh and wasn’t worth the price. I understand this is a busy Saturday evening however the quality and experience was not up to standard and we won’t return

Went here for the bottomless brunch and was thoroughly disappointed. Firstly, the service is terrible. The waitress simply didn’t take orders from multiple people on the table, and after reminded her that they did in fact want to eat food at this restaurant, their orders were forgotten anyway. Everyone who served us had a pretty terrible attitude and didn’t seem to care who got to eat and who didn’t. The food was completely mediocre. Most of it tasted like frozen dumplings and dim sum you could buy from a supermarket and heat up in the microwave. I would not recommend going to this restaurant.

We have eaten at Ping Pong many times. Food was nice but took way too long to come out. Difficult to get servers attention to place order. Tables all around us were left uncleared & dirty from previous diners, which was quite unpleasant. Mentioned this to the manager, didn’t seem that concerned.

It has been a very long time since I've had dumplings given my gluten sensitivity. The truth is their dumplings are out of this world. It is hard to believe they are gluten free. I loved every bite. My favorite were the vegan options but there are many other options on the menu too that my family thoroughly enjoyed. The staff was very attentive to allergies and printed out detailed menus for me to check and select what I wanted to eat. I'd highly recommend this spot! The only reason I didn't give a 5 for service was it seemed the staff was a bit overwhelmed the volume and at times we waited a while for food but all in all they did a lovely job.

I was meeting a friend in Waterloo, we walked around and decided on coming to this establishment. The staff are really nice and welcoming, took us to our seats and explained the menu. We ordered a number of small plates and they were all divine. I normally want to eat like a pig but the plates were ordered was enough. If you live dim sum/Asian fusion then you have to come here 😊

The service wasn't great at all, the food and drinks didn't come or served. We had to remind them we what we ordered and didn't receive. It took forever to reach out to someone, all the waiters were running around serving the white customers and neglected us. We ordered drink and starter and didn't receive the drinks till the end and we had to remind them we ordered drinks and they should have served that first thing. I saw they were very accommodating towards there white customers, drinks being served properly food was coming customer service was great towards them. There was one female worker saw me directly I was trying to reach her staff member but she blatanly ignored me I thought that was really rude. At least 4 times we had to them they missed our orders. Really disappointed I got tired the amount of times I had to call them and couldn't get hold of a waiter. Awfully disappointed.

Unfortunately, my friends and I were disappointed with this restaurant. It is rather expensive but we mostly pay the neighborhood price because the quantity is rather small. The most disappointing thing was the waiting time, in fact, it took 45 minutes for the first dishes to arrive and 1 hour for the last. Note also that the dishes do not arrive at all at the same time which can be annoying.

Everything was very good and the staff were great. A little something put me off a bit: the price compared to the quantity of food. In the end I only took 6 gyozas and the score was high. It's a little disappointing on this point because the desire to have several dishes is less present. When it came to service, some of my tablemates got their dishes well after me, which was a bit annoying. However, the restaurant itself is pleasant thanks to the decor and the staff. You just have to be aware of the prices.

Good food, crammed seats, staff is running around everywhere trying to serve everyone that sometimes you have to wait to get someone’s attention. Went for lunch before a meeting. The food came relatively fast and they have/had a bento lunch offer at a low price. It was good value for money. I’ve been going for years when I’m in the Southbank area and stuck with choices. If only they can create more space between tables. It can get very noisy at times.

Not good experience overall. Doesn't really cater to vegetarians. Food: veg boa buns were decent but had to make it myself, spring rolls were a bit cold, dumplings didn't taste good. Even though there are quite a few vegetarian options on the menu, it doesn't look like the restaurant prioritises this. Service: Had to ask 4 times for a knife and fork. Used to really enjoy ping pong but won't be going back, we had to have food at the market opposite as we were still hungry. I would recommend eating the street food instead as it's just outside, it's better.

Food was nice. Service was unfortunately really slow. Although we knew dishes would come out at different times, 1 of our guests did not get their meal until 1 hour after everyone had received theirs! A little disappointing. Manager did address the issue, and gave us a discount as compensation.

4th time in Ping pong now. We travel to London from Scotland at least once a year and always make time for a visit here. The food is absolutely sensational. We adore this restaurant. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The menu is great. The only thing that I would have loved to have tried is the prawn toaste and the sweet and sour, which they had regrettably removed from the summer menu. We book in advance and always have no issues getting our table. The wine list is good and we always find one that we like. It complements tge food greatly. Anna and the team have a crown jewel of a restaurant in London and we look forward to returning next time. Thanks again for another great visit team !
