Ping Pong is a cool and bustling place. Food is great. They found us a table for two quickly though it was very busy. Zsanett, who had charge of our section of the restaurant and made sure we got everything we'd ordered (not an easy task given the tiny tickboxes on the extensive dim sum menu) was great - warm, friendly personality and very attentive, professional and thorough.

I was uncertain about coming here given the reviews but came anyway to see for myself. I had Zsannet as my waitress and wow did she work those tables. She was ridiculously busy even to correct an error on my bill from another staff member. Clearly they do not have enough staff on duty for the size of the restaurant. She was so fast, but as a result, it lacked a personal touch. She flew past my table at one point and my food landed in front of me! I still tipped her as she was amazing. Food wise, I'm conflicted. It was tasty. But the reviews are unfortunately right. Its over priced for the size of the portions. I had to order some dumplings after my main (pictured) as there just wasn't enough - and the honey chicken was £9.95! I probably wouldn't return which is a shame as the staff were so incredible, the ambience was buzzing but there needs to be more done about the value side of things I'm afraid.

If your friends suggest this place, resist! Its a popular place and it was crowded when i went. The atmosphere is nice and so are the servers. But the food was horrible! The chilli chicken on rice dish was sub par (honestly I cook better at home and I've been cooking for less than 2 years). The dumplings literally was stuck to the bamboo basket and just disintegrated while trying to pick it up. The only thing that felt was as expected was steamed broccoli and crispy tofu! Honestly never again! - for context i don't eat beef and pork.

Food was average. The original choices are missing, the list of items increased, but not Chinese dim sum. We were missing chopsticks/cutlery even after food arrived, we also had to ask for chili oil and chili sauce more than once. I regret not going to China town. Not the same as they were pre covid.

Loved the food, we had booking for vegan lazy sumday and it was great, the amount of food for £30 pp is absolutely worth it. Should include some soft drinks into the promotion tho. I didn’t like how loud was the place, obviously it’s a restaurant but the children were screaming and crying from every side. Not a very relaxing vibe. Waiting time for the food wasn’t bad but we had to wait over 30 min to get and pay the bill. Service was very kind.

Best place to visit if you love a good happy hour with cocktails and dimsum. Be warned that not everything on the menu is half price during happy hours, only those with "HH" next to it. There's a decent amount of selection, and the cocktails are great with a bit of asian fusion to it. Although, I ordered the elderflower sakitini, and it had the lychee flavour to it with everyone in my table ordering the lychee and roses cocktail. Service is quick, perfect if you're starving already. Great place for conversations with friends. You can drink asian cocktails and nibble on some prawn crackers and edamame for half the price.

Visited Ping Pong recently and found the whole experience disappointing! Firstly, we were seated in the outside seating area which smelt like sewage so we decided to move inside as the smell was disgusting and putting us off! Once we were inside, we struggled to get the attention of any staff and the food and drinks took ages to arrive. They forgot one of our dishes so we had to wait another 15 minutes for that to come out. In general, the food was very low quality, didn’t seem fresh and wasn’t worth the price. I understand this is a busy Saturday evening however the quality and experience was not up to standard and we won’t return

Went here for the bottomless brunch and was thoroughly disappointed. Firstly, the service is terrible. The waitress simply didn’t take orders from multiple people on the table, and after reminded her that they did in fact want to eat food at this restaurant, their orders were forgotten anyway. Everyone who served us had a pretty terrible attitude and didn’t seem to care who got to eat and who didn’t. The food was completely mediocre. Most of it tasted like frozen dumplings and dim sum you could buy from a supermarket and heat up in the microwave. I would not recommend going to this restaurant.

It has been a very long time since I've had dumplings given my gluten sensitivity. The truth is their dumplings are out of this world. It is hard to believe they are gluten free. I loved every bite. My favorite were the vegan options but there are many other options on the menu too that my family thoroughly enjoyed. The staff was very attentive to allergies and printed out detailed menus for me to check and select what I wanted to eat. I'd highly recommend this spot! The only reason I didn't give a 5 for service was it seemed the staff was a bit overwhelmed the volume and at times we waited a while for food but all in all they did a lovely job.

Everything was very good and the staff were great. A little something put me off a bit: the price compared to the quantity of food. In the end I only took 6 gyozas and the score was high. It's a little disappointing on this point because the desire to have several dishes is less present. When it came to service, some of my tablemates got their dishes well after me, which was a bit annoying. However, the restaurant itself is pleasant thanks to the decor and the staff. You just have to be aware of the prices.

Note also that the dishes do not arrive at all at the same time which can be annoying.

Even though there are quite a few vegetarian options on the menu, it doesn't look like the restaurant prioritises this. Service: Had to ask 4 times for a knife and fork. Used to really enjoy ping pong but won't be going back, we had to have food at the market opposite as we were still hungry. 4th time in Ping pong now. We travel to London from Scotland at least once a year and always make time for a visit here. The food is absolutely sensational. We adore this restaurant. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The menu is great. The only thing that I would have loved to have tried is the prawn toaste and the sweet and sour, which they had regrettably removed from the summer menu. We book in advance and always have no issues getting our table. The wine list is good and we always find one that we like. It complements tge food greatly. Pretty rubbish experience. There are SO many better dim sum restaurants in London but we had been to Tate Modern so we came here. We won't be returning. It feels dated and tired, the loo only had toilet paper in 1 out of 3 cubicles (and the paper that comes out one stingy sheet at a time so if it gets stuck inside you are screwed) and the food was average at best. My son had the pork and prawn dim sum and you could see the gristle on his plate afterwards where he'd had to repeatedly take it out - yuck - and mine were average at best. Our drinks order got lost in translation with our waiter who was sweet but fairly hopeless. I commented that my son's dim sum were disappointing and he clearly didn't give a cr*p - a better place would have noted the gristle on the plate and taken that dish of the bill. That certainly didn't happen. Just a fairly grim/disappointing experience without it being actively dreadful but I wish we had bothered to walk to China Town instead.

The food is average, the service is average, the price is a bit steep, but the business practice is what hammers the nail in the coffin. Your bill will include a 15% discretionary brand charge. It sounded a bit odd to me, so I queried it. The manager (?) assured me it was a service charge that’s shared amongst the staff. Spoiler alert: it isn’t. Here’s what it says on their website site: [a] discretionary management fee of 15% is added to your bill. This fee covers the costs associated with managing and supporting the restaurants, as well as maintaining the brand experience to our company standards. And there I was thinking that the profit margin on the food and drink was supposed to cover those costs. Avoid. There’s better food, service, and employers within walking distance.

Dishonest place. They have started charging the "brand charge" instead of service charge. BEWARE: this is not the same as service charge. There is a new regulation in place that makes sure that all service charge is legally and openly distributed to the employees without tampering by the restaurant. By paying this charge you are taking away from the employees and giving money to the restaurant. To fight this request the charge to be removed. If you want to tip, tip directly to the waiter using cash (the old style).

Me and my partner went because reviews seemed to be good. Who is writing them, the employees or their families?! We had tiny dishes with the basic we had asked for. We paid £8.45 for 3 duck spring rolls. They were the size of an index finger! For that money I was expecting something a bit bigger or at least more of it! I had to order something else, so I ordered chicken skewers, and they were nice, but only that! There is no veg or anything that comes with these things, that was another 8 or 10 pounds! Could the prices be justified if the food was out of this world?! The food was pretty normal! I felt ripped off and I regreted not to have bought some of the nice food that was on offer at the market stalls next to the restaurant. On the other hand, I had a problem with the waiter, who wanted to clear my table each time before I had even finished eating. The napkins, we had to ask for them, in the end, out of frustration, I had to use a piece of kitchen towel I had in my bag. I did not want to get angrier and angrier. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures, when I always do. I suppose that I do of things when I am impressed, but not this time. I wish I could present the evidence in images! We left, and no member of staff acknowledged that we were leaving. We gave a tip because we felt bad not to do so, but honestly, it did not deserve it at all!

Back to Ping Pong for lunch after a long while, and had a lovely meal for two. The food was great, and Kristin S made sure we had a lovely experience. Would recommend

A favourite South bank hang out…Vyshnav, our server was amazing. Took our order in an enthusiastic and very helpful way : such a hard worker and friendly. Food was perfectly cooked and atmosphere was great. As always I am sure I will be back.

Ping pong is one of our favourite places to eat in Southbank. The food is so tasty with a great combination of textures and flavours. The dips are such a great addition and compliment the dishes so well. Monday to Friday, they have happy hour from 3-6pm which is an added bonus 😀. The service from Sayed was fast, efficient and friendly. We’ll be back. Thank you very much for never disappointing us.

Food delicious! But I would like to recognise Conor who really does his job in a great manner and makes you feel taken care. He's very polite and professional

What can I say, the food in this place is nothing short of first class. Our service from Sally was wonderful, her friendly and tentative nature along with the amazing food had us coming back two nights in a row. Courtney the manager of this restraint is an articulate humbling character who clearly leads his team by example. What a wonderful experience both food wise and more importantly the people!! A huge thanks, this has been our positive experience in London!! Xxxx

Food was good - not the best Chinese I’ve ever had - but place was chaotic and when we arrived they had already finished some of the dishes.

Ruined my birthday. Put menus on table that we all wanted to order off and then told us they're just there for show and not able to order. Didn't explain the system at all and were rude. Will not be coming back.

Very tasty dim sum and great service from their staff, pleasantly quiet on a Monday lunchtime. A few dishes I love weren't available ☹️. We had a window seat, so people watching was entertaining. 😆

5/5 place for me, would totally go again someday. I went with my boyfriend on Saturday after visiting the Royal Festive Hall. The place was in a convenient spot and we got seats even though it was about 30 minutes before closing. Ordering food is comfortable, staff lady was nice, didn't really wait long for my meal & drinks. Not the cheapest place around and definitely a bit loud inside but everything was absolutely delicious (Pictures of Chicken Katsu Curry and a Strawberry & Vanilla Iced Tea) 👍

Nice large restaurant. The service was pretty good and the food arrived quite quickly. The food was fairly standard, good but not as good as proper dim sum places, and a bit more expensive. I was not a fan of chicken and truffle dumpling, since it was truffle oil and not actual truffle.

Just order 4-5 plates and sit back and relax while the waiters seemingly bring you an endless supply of absolutely gorgeous food. It's such a relaxed way to enjoy a meal.

We recently enjoyed the Lazy Sumdays menu and were looked after by the brilliant Kristine. We had two babies and a toddler with us and Kristine went out of her way to make the lunch as relaxed and easy as possible for us all, always checking we were happy and how long food would be. She made what could have been a stressful lunch very enjoyable! Fab food as ever, great choices on the menu for the Sunday lunch. Good buggy parking space and tables had enough space so you didn’t hear other conversations etc.

I was served rice 20mins before my main dishes arrived. They ran out of rum so couldn't have any of the cocktails we were planning to have. Usually is OK here but a bit disappointed this time. Don't think I will go again

Went for the half price dim sum and cocktail offer between 3-5pm weekdays. Turns out only a small selection you can choose from and mainly dumplings. Portions tiny. Trying to get waiter's attention to serve us was not easy. Once ordered, the food took a while to arrive. Food was mediocre but very very small portions.

London celebrates its culinary diversity and this is one of them. Their dim sum's flavours aren't exactly what I called traditional or authentic, but their textures were superb. The dumpling and har gau skins were all fresh, chewy, and well made. The crust of their spring roll and cake were fried to perfection--crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. A harmonious balance of yin and yang. Great effort indeed! Although the flavours aren't traditional, the taste is still delicious and creative at times. All female members of staff (including the manager-looking lady and Aiswarya) were very attentive to customer needs when I was there; while, strangely, the male members never looked at my way when I needed something. No smile on their faces, neither. For first timers, I recommend the set menu (available all day) to try.

This listing needs to be changed to reflect that this restaurant is not Mrs Wong's. It went under new ownership and changed its name to 'Cozy Woods' many years ago. All the more recent and largely negative reviews reflect this new restaurant, not the Streatham institution that was Mrs Wong's, and frankly they are a stain on the good name of what was once an incredibly beloved community favourite. Cozy Woods, stop trying to capitalise on the reputation and goodwill built up by the real Mrs Wong's over many decades. Much love to the original owners and staff.

Sopa extremadamente decepcionante con trozos de palitos de cangrejo. Las gambas de Kung Po y el arroz frito eran pasables.

Have been regulars at this venue every time I visit London with a friend. we always go for the unlimited Dim Sum, and it is always high quality food at an outrageously good price especially for London! Would never hesitate for a second to recommend this place for anyone into their Chinese. I keep my chopstick technique good purely for this place! Staff are wonderfully friendly and remember us every visit. Most recent visit was for my friends birthday (his 31st) and once again they went above and beyond to try and make it memorableaand and special for us. If you're going anywhere else in London for dim sum, you're doing it wrong!!
