Pilkington's Birley Street in Blackpool

We visited Pilkingtons on a rare night out after hearing so many excellent things and we certainly weren’t disappointed. We each had the roast lamb- every single piece of food on the plate was cooked to perfection, and we loved the home made Yorkshire full of parsnip crisps. We had three desserts between two of us because everything sounded so tempting- the white chocolate pot with toasted marshmallows and strawberries, matthew’s mess and the lemon, poppyseed and ricotta cheesecake. This was a perfect dining experience and we can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!!!

Myself and partner went to this restaurant .What can I say the food was fresh , Homemade and taste amazing.We had a roast lamb dinner and it was beautiful I can honestly say it’s the best roast dinner I have had in blackpool and the best I have had for a long time.There is no more I can about this place it’s just amazing .

What a fantastic experience we had in this restaurant! The chef/owner Matthew was superb. All of our meals were prepared in front of us. A special mention for the lamb liver and the Cajun chicken burger which was rated by my son as the best meal he’s ever had. I would definitely recommend pilkingtons restaurant and we will be back the next time we visit Blackpool 😁.

We had out Christmas get together here last night. From the outside this location looks nothing. DO NOT BE OUT OFF FROM THE OUTSIDE. Matthew is an amazing chef, the food was piping hot and extremely tasty. He single handedly managed to serve up 14 meals all together and wasn’t put off by the naughty behaviour from some. I only way I can thank him for producing fantastic food is to write on here. THANK YOU MATTHEW.. ps excellent value for money

Visited here on the strength of it’s reviews and if I could give higher than 5 stars I would. Fantastic food (we had Sunday lunch) Matthew works so hard and his culinary skills are 2nd to none! He also looks after your every need. Please visit. Booking is advised. Can’t wait to go back and sample more from the menu. He also welcomed and took care of my 3 year old granddaughter too. Thanks Matthew, we’ll be back!

Delicious meal and the service was great. Thank you we will be back next time we’re in Blackpool. Highly recommended. We had the parfait to start and pies for our main the food was delicious.

What a brilliant wee restaurant seriously you won’t be disappointed, Mathew made us feel very welcome so cosy and relaxing atmosphere, the food was absolutely amazing made from scratch and so fresh spot on. Our sirloin steaks were cooked perfectly thanks Mathew for a lovely experience felt like we had our own personal chef, definitely come back if we’re in Blackpool again.xx

A friend and I dined at Pilkingtons whilst spending a wk end in blackpool. The food was delicious , it's prepared pretty much to order but the wait wasn't long at all. Certainly faster and tastier than I could create. The chap front of house is spot on and the singing chef kept us entertained. Keep up the good work chaps and see you next time I'm in town.

We walked up on a Thursday evening. Five of us compromising of three adults and two children. We weren't expecting too much from the outside, even though the menu was very inviting. Well the food was amazing as was the service. Matthew, who is owner, front of house, waiter, head chef and sous chef all in one was great. The food was all hand made and was exquisite. I had the brocolli and pine nut carbonara, my partner had the sirloin steak, my mil had the chicken and mushroom pie, my son the gourmet burger and daughter the sausage, chips and Yorkie off the children's menu. There was a slight, expected wait but it was well worth it for the food and service. The teddy gifts for both children at the end was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend and will return time and time again when in Blackpool.

Fantastic meal. Nicest steak I've had in years cooked exactly as ordered. Squid rings perfect. Partner had the chicken/mushroom pie also fabulous. Ambience and host 11 out of 10.

What a superb little place this is. We visited for Sunday lunch and quite honestly, it’s the best we’ve had in a restaurants for quite some time. Matthew and the team were very welcoming indeed and the food was served with a smile. We will absolutely return the next time we are in Town. Deserves the five star rating, that’s for sure. There’s a Co-op at the top of the road to get any drinks you may need as it’s bring your own with a £2 per person corkage charge. Thank you again to the team!

What a find! Husband spotted this and the reviews were spot on. This is a small informal bistro which is run by one man, Matthew, who is both waiter and chef. You can bring your own alcohol ( small corkage fee) which is always good. Our meal was delicious and certainly not rushed which we were more than happy with as we ended up having 3 courses. All food is cooked to order so everything is super fresh. There is an open kitchen so you can see Matt at work - and he works incredibly hard! He was really friendly and attentive and we really liked the atmosphere. Will definitely be going back

Small, intimate restaurant delivers an inventive menu with aplomb. 5 of us had from beef to fish, to vegetarian and we all enjoyed ourselves. Puddings were shared. Given Matthew is cooking by himself, I'm amazed everything was served together and cooked to perfection. Bravo!
