We had a fabulous evening, as always the food was out of this world, with beautifully prepared exceptional food. Service was increadable, efficient and very friendly. The wine list is unbelievable. I would highly recommend the tasting menu. Peno shows his culinary skills off to perfection. Will definately be back.

The best restaurant in town by far

Yet again fantastic gourmet menu late lunch, love the restaurant with its ambiance. Always excellent service. The guy who threw toys out pram because his booking was changed doesn't know what he missed. I'd advise he realises these things happen and no doubt was outwith Pino's control and goes and enjoys a fantastic meal.

Restaurant is quite small , it has approx 16 covers. Looks lovely...very romantic..... but the menu is very restricted and the portions are small but expensive. I love Italian food but there was nothing Italian about this restaurant.

Style over substance....very very slow service, 3 hours for pre set menu for Valentine day...2 hours waiting before main meal,preboiled heart shape potatos warmed up with burnt veg and steak swimming in puddle of olive oil. Honestly it's not worth it. Only 7 tables to serve 18 people. 30 min waiting to get 2 spoons hazelnut ice cream served. Was left very disappointed with poor service and underwhelming food for a meal costing £120..for 2 people.

You will never be disappointed with the welcome you receive in this gem of a place. The food is to die for and they stock a really good selection of wine. Gino is always happy to share his cooking tips and passion for quality ingredients no matter how busy he is. If I had to point out any negatives, I would say it is a pity that they have limited opening times and the food is expensive. I am not saying it is not worth every penny, because it genuinely is. However if it was a little less expensive I would certainly visit more often. I say again A GEM OF A PLACE! Be sure to take a big fat wallet with you though.

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in this restaurant and can't recommend it enough. We opted for the 7 course taster menu, hubby was a bit wary as he can be fussy, doesn't eat fish or seafood eg, but you can point this out and an alternative will be made. He was delighted he did go for it as he couldn't fault a thing. Each course is freshly made and Pinot, the owner and Top Chef, explains what each course consists of. Fresh, crusty bread with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip is complimentary and we were also served with a complimentary cocktail on arrival. Beautiful surroundings, cosy and intimate just set it all off. Can't wait to go back!

We had a beautiful meal,the steak was cooked just how I like it,the wine was also good. Pino the chef/owner visited our table after the meal and chatted for a few moments, I will most definitely go again on my next visit to Hamilton. Bon appetito.

Lovely place which serves really great Italian food. Small and intimate. Not a large menu on show for the evening we were there, I suspect it changes every night. I had a fabulous Rib eye steak done to perfection and we'll seasoned. The sides were great also. We will be back guaranteed.

Food and service top notch. We tried the gourmet menu - seven tasting courses. Every one was perfect. The owner / chef spoke to everyone that was in and he was so pleasant. Special mention to the two waiting staff, they were the best!

had a lovely romantic date night here tonight with the husband. the waitress was lovely who served us and the food was delicious. would highly recommend this little tucked away place.

Would like to share last nights dining experience, this restaurant was recommended to my wife by friends, we arrived and were shown to our table, unfortunately this was not stable and moved over 1inch due to faulty legs, as the restaurant was full and there was only 2 waitress staff we didn’t make a fuss, we asked for a bottle of wine from the menu only to find this was in stock but not chilled, the replacement we got which while more expensive was excellent and recommended by the waitress, we ordered starters and mains as we didn’t think we could manage the all the courses on the tasting menu, the wine was served and upon taking my first drink I noticed that the glass was chipped and unsafe to drink from, I informed the waitress and she replaced the glass pouring the wine from the chipped glass into the new one. We waited 15 minutes and our starters appeared, the scallops and the caprase salad, both were very well presented and delicious, we then waited 45 minutes for our main courses, my wife had the prawns with pasta which was nice, I had the lamb served with potato peels and some salad, this was cut into around 8 pieces, I was given a butter knife to cut the lamb which proved difficult and when I cut the first piece and tasted it I was suprised to find it over cooked, I tried another piece but the second was was actually burnt on one side, I complained to the waitress saying that the lamb was burnt and I would like to send the meal back and order something else from the menu, she apologised and took the plate away, she came back 5 minutes later saying that the chef had done the meal charcoal style, he would allow me to order another meal but would charge me half of the cost of the lamb, I refused to accept that I was will to pay £18 for a burnt meal, I told her I would rather have the lamb but not burnt and I offered to speak with the chef, she returned 10 minutes later with my meal saying the chef didn’t want to argue or discuss this with me and he has done the lamb pan fried which I certainly didn’t request, she put the plate down for me with 2 very lightly pan fried lamb fillets, these had potato skins below them but no salad was returned on the plate, to avoid anymore hassle for the waitress who seemed distressed I accepted the meal and ate it, this was however not what I expected and not in the slightest bit enjoyable, my wife ordered a dessert and 2 gin cocktails to try and cheer me up which were both excellent, upon finishing up I asked for the bill which was £102, I left a small tip and left. Having had time to reflect on last nights dining experience I can tell you we will never return, if it hadn’t been for the obviously distressed waitress I would have dug my heels in and rejected the second offering, I am sure this venue has served up many fine meals over the years and perhaps we were unlucky but the overall experience for ourselves was poor even though the food was excellent other than my main meal - the chef will hopefully take this onboard as there are several fine Italian restaurants in Hamilton

Food is fantastic. Offer ala carte as well as a 7 course chefs choice meal as well. It is a bit on the pricey side but the food is worth it. The chef/owner is a very personable guy who often comes out of the kitchen to mingle with the customers.

Whenever I get back to Hamilton this is a must stop for a meal! Fond memories of my time spent living in the area! Best meal and owner from the madcanadian!

Proper, genuine Italian food. Excellent quality, great hospitality and a wide selection of wines. A real Italian experience out of Italy, says an Italian living in Scotland!

Had a brilliant lunch one of our party had some food intolerance issues which were dealt with perfectly. Everything is made when you order not precooked. A must for us to return and the service was just perfect.

This is by far the best Italian restaurant in Hamilton and the surrounding area. The food is genuine Italian, rather than what some people might consider to be Italian, such as; pizza and spaghetti with tomato sauce! The owner and chef Pino is the nicest, warmest host you could ask for, with nothing being too much trouble to accommodate. The 7 course gourmet meal is mindblowingly good and very reasonably priced. I'd expect to pay double or treble the cost if Pietruccios was located in Glasgow. If you're looking for genuine Italian food served with thought and care, you must try it. If you're looking for 'Italian' food that's cheap, ready in 3 minutes and warmed up by a chef, go to the abomination that is DiMaggios!

Eaten here several times and have always found the food to be delicious (go for the tasting menu and have a bit of everything), well presented, and good value with friendly service. Returning next weekend for my birthday!

It was a party of 4, we were recommended this so called Italian Restaurant by family members,what a disappointment,we have eaten in a good few Italian Restaurants in Hamilton for £10 better food and far better service,our sweets were neerly £6 each what we got was a 1" sqare of apple tart a half of Strawberry 4 Blueberries and 1 small scoop of cream.The so called Italian food was as Italian as a Scotch Pie. Our main couses were set out on cold plates the plates should have been warmed not very professional. The gentalman that was I assume to be the manager was dressed in a old gray shirt and a pair of jeens again not very professional. Small portions and very over priced, my Soda water was over priced for what I got but the wine price was reasonable. Unless things improve and the restuaurant get better we will not be back. One other point I would get a hot air blower over the door during winter months.

Went here with my partner and a friend in July 2013 and have to say is one of the best Italian meal I have ever had. Tasty, well presented and more than enough to leave me feeling well fed and privileged to have experienced it. The ambiance was also very nice an suits couples and groups who enjoy a romantic dinner. It's a little bit more expensive that some other places nearby but well worth it for a nice occasion. Save up some coin and give this a try.
