Great food. Would thoroughly recommend

We had lunch with friends -a party of six - and it was lovely. The restaurant is very popular and placed close to the centre of Lanark so it was busy. It was also reasonably priced.

NOT a cafe…”we only do tables for food” 🙄

Just went for a local meal involving no travel. What a great wee restaurant. The quality was ace. Cannot be faulted. Service was fine but not hurried. Price was just ok - but not cheap / but still good value.

We have now visited The Broomgate a few times and every time it has been excellent. The food is always tasty, plentiful and hot and the staff are all great and very helpful. This is a great wee restaurant for the size of a place like Lanark and is proving very popular. If you are thinking of going along call them up and book your table in advance because you will have no chance of getting a table if you just turn up, it is that popular. The Broomgate - recommended 👍🏻

Delicious food,friendly staff, great gluten free options,gluten free steak pie & it came with gluten free puff pastry,10/10 i would highly recommend.We've been here a few times and there's plenty of choice for everyone, Chicken with the haggis bon bons & peppercorn sauce is lovely, definitely value for money

The Korean chicken poppers were amazing, we had katsu curry, pepper chicken, fajitas & chicken burger, all fantastic!! Service was great & good value for money. Def be back, could not recommend highly enough

Really good food and friendly staff. A little bit claustrophobic with lots of tables but not a complaint.

The food was overpriced and the service was really slow, despite many waitresses and just 4 customers. The food was definitely not worth the money. We won't be back.

Always top class meal and service

11/10 first time visiting and definitely wont be my last. Menu has something for everyone and the food was simply amazing. All the waiting staff were friendly and helpful making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was very busy so you definitely need to book in advance even for lunch.....testimony in itself.

First time here after getting vouchers for Xmas, myself and my family eat out ALOT and know good food from mediocre and the food here was absolutely excellent, staff were great too we will definitely be back 😋

Fabulous food. The menu is too good so we're always spoiled for choice. Our son travels abroad most of the time and has eaten in many different countries and tasted all kinds of cuisine. He says the food here is fantastic. We're so lucky to have such a place in Lanark.

First time trying The Broomgate restaurant. Turns out to be a great place in the heart of Lanark, with lovely service, great tasting food and a good selection available from both a normal and separate vegan menu. Highly recommended.

We went as a family, and it was an extra special occasion as my daughter in law was being visited by her parents from Holland. We all enjoyed our food, even our grandchildren. The service and food were excellent. It was reasonably priced as well, which even our Dutch family were pleasantly surprised 😮. It's a good place. We will be back.

You have to be hungry for the Broomgate breakfast, it was very tasty. The brioche French toasts were super delicious. And first the coffee. The staff was magical, including our dog. The detour here for a hearty breakfast was definitely worth it.

We came here for the first time a few months ago as it allowed us to bring in our wee dog. I have to say that was a great decision as the food and service were exceptional. Nice menu, great coffee and as noted really wonderful service (especially for our wee dachshund who was given a bowl of water and some treats) - I had the pulled pork bagel which was genuinely wonderful my partner had the chili made with real beef which was just as amazing. Even better without having to ask we were given water a standard requirement with food anywhere else except Scotland, it seems .

The food is absolutely amazing in here! So fresh and tasty. Real proper homecooked goodness! There is such a good amotsphere no matter which time you choose to dine. The staff make this place even more special, they are so attentive, cheery and really make you feel good! Not to forget the price is so reasonable for the food you are getting! Highly recommend having a meal in the broomgate.

I was very impressed; unfortunately, most places in Lanark are expensive microwave food. The Broomgate was, instead, a huge surprise and I'd highly recommend it.

Amazing place for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Cannot speak highly enough of this place. 5 star is not enough. Staff are amazing and always find a place for you.

Food and service was excellent. A choice of salsa for the veggie burger would have been awesome. I had the chicken burger which was ace.

Fantastic food. The only thing that let it down was a small desert menu with at least two of the items unavailable. (The deserts we had were fantastic however!). 9/10. 😋

We really wanted to love The Broomgate, but ended up frustrated and disappointed! The café/restaurant is extremely popular, and was super busy. The food and drinks were nice, and I really appreciated the extensive gluten free menu. It was cool to see the kitchen staff at work, but it was also roasting and we left stinking of chip fat. The main negative to bring our review from 5 stars to 3 was the slowness of the service. We were a table of two adults who arrived when every other table had finished ordering or was empty. There were about 5 waiting staff. We waited for ages to order drinks, one arrived, and the other arrived 10 minutes later. We ordered food, the fries from the order were missing. We didn’t manage to attract attention from the waiting staff so we just ate the food we had. No one asked if the food was okay (it was really nice!). When they took our plates away we asked for another drink and the bill. We didn’t receive the drink or the bill! Despite our best efforts to flag down the waiting staff (they congregate in the kitchen area, where they can’t see anyone - they should just actually look at the customers and most of their problems would be solved!) we only got our bill when the man next to us told the waitress we were still waiting when she brought his food. It was frustrating bordering on comical. We had one course and were there for an hour and a half. I was so delighted to finally receive the bill that I paid as fast as I could and forgot to read it over. Turns out they charged us for the drink and fries we never got - my mistake, I should have checked and said. This could be a really great place: the gluten free menu was good, the service was friendly when we got it and the food was nice - but the service was comically slow (although they had enough staff) and ruined the meal! The reviewer who said that The Broomgate is trying to run a restaurant out of a cafe set-up hit the nail on the head.

Savers was disgusting due to rude stuff members and my food looked like somebody had spat in it

What a great wee place. The food is delicious, staff are lovely and prices reasonable. We often go just for a coffee but it's also a real treat to go for dinner.

Second time we've eaten here and have to leave a review, absolutely brilliant food and excellent service the staff could not be friendlier great place.

The food is a 5star, what a talented team , but!!!!! The business has outgrown the premises. The noise today stopped us staying for dessert. The staff were even struggling to hear on the phone. This is currently a restaurant and a bloody good one being ran out of a cafe. This chef and team need a restaurant with a bigger kitchen and space. Keep up the amazing hard work, would love to see this business flourish to the next level

Dog friendly. For those of us with dogs they have a section off to the side of the main eating area which has its own entrance. There's plenty of seating available, the food was good and reasonably priced and there were no issues at all with the service. If I'm up that way again I'll definitely be going back.

Used to love eating here. Purchased a tuna baked potato that tasted and was clearly off but said it was freshly made and to add extra mayo to it.

Fantastic dinner tonight at the The Broomgate Cafe in Lanark! Serving evening meals now and the quality, presentation and service would put many other restaurants to shame! From starters to main courses to sweets everyone at our table thought the food was delicious!! We felt very safe here as the staff all wore masks and covid guidance was followed to the letter. The bill was very reasonable and we should have expected to pay more!! So give this local place a go as it’s tough in this environment for small businesses!

Highly recommend laura and her staff are so warm and welcoming, went for dinner at 5pm had theeeee best dish n chips amd great value for money highly recommend 🌸
