Really lovely food and staff. Had a nice convo with another couple about how good their food was as well (thumbs up all round!) Relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this spot!

The food was very good and large servings. You won't leave hungry. The service was very good and the chef was very polite and helpful. You get a good choice of food to suit every one. If you live locally it's a little gem. Very good price for the amount of food that you get. Recommend you try it.

This is by far the worste place i have ever eaten! We ate here a short while ago and the food was lovely, the quality has gone down hill rapidly! Such a shame as the food used to be lovely! The beef was like eating my grandads wallet. We was asked how the food was, when we gave both the chef and waitress feedback they laughed. Inbetween there duties the barmaids was vaping non stop and also whilst they are serving. You would eat better at Darenth Valley hospital. We will not be eating here ever again. Waste of time and money. This does not warrant even 1 star if I could give minus stars I would, pelt.

The worst possible service! After we gave a feedback that the beer we ordered was tasting "funny" and sour, which happens with draft beer, one of the barmades asked us to choose a replacement. After 5mins we were told by a different barmade we had to pay again, because the landlord said so and because nobody else had complained all day?! Of course we refused and our replacement beers were taken away from us, we were screamed at by the badmade and the landlord just for giving an honest feedback, they refused to try the beer with the excuse they didn't drink!!! We were told to leave, so no beer, but we paid. So a landlord who don't drink and can't taste his product! An overall the worst and most embarrassing pub experience in my life! If you're not one of the regulars AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

I think, They should keep eye on customer when they leave @ least 20 minutes are they well or not

Food was amazing the roast dinner was so good. The new restaurant staff are so lovely. Would recommend Sunday dinner we never really go out for a dinner on Sunday we’re definitely going back.

Great Sunday roast and excellent desserts clear plates all round. Kids highly recommended the Yorkshire Puddings

Our son in law had his 40th party here. The buffet was very nice and varied to suit all tastes. The area was at the rear of the pub with access to the outside area. The staff were really nice and very accommodating. The guests were not hassled and rubbish and glasses were cleared away discreetly

Most disappointing Sunday roast and dessert Unfriendly staff Definitely won't return The meals were a good size but badly cooked And really not worth the cost Sticky toffee pudding looked like it had exploded in the bowl

I booked an afternoon tea here recently for my Mum’s birthday. We received a warm welcome and the staff were attentive and went out of their way at all times. The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented with sandwiches and cakes that were delicious and fresh. I would definitely recommend this afternoon tea experience for special occasions or as a treat - it really was fantastic.

Popped in for a roast dinner with my partner today. And we could not have been happier with the service! Particularly Julia who did everything she could to get us seated without a priar reservation. Food was great also. Top marks for amazing customer service and food 👌

We are blessed in this country with history around us and this pub in this village is like winding the clocks back 150 years when stagecoaches would bring wealthy gentry to this overnight stay on there way to or from , what would then be four day journey to the likes of Canterbury and back . You can literally feel and touch history , enjoy the lovely food on offer and wash it down with a glass of your choice . A unique experience is yours to be had . This pub and this village is our heritage . Enjoy it

Great atmosphere terrific grub nice views of the river.

We have used this Pub and Restaurant twice for a private function. They are lovely people, easy to communicate with and the buffet spread was delicious and very generous. Being able to open the doors to the deck overlooking the River Thames is especially lovely. I thoroughly recommend them.

A very nice little pub, good atmosphere and they serve some goyo beer 🍺 Happy and friendly start. A good selection of beer, wines and spirits are available. There is a good sized outside seating area with views over the river. Parking at the rear is limited, but off road parking is available. They also have a large TV where they show the sport. Enjoy.

Nice atmosphere and bar staff but could possibly do with a bit of a sympathetic update.

I booked up a meal with friends before Christmas. Everyone enjoyed the meal. The portion sizes were very generous. Plenty of meat veg and gravy and very delicious. the table had plenty of room to move, didn't feel hemmed in. The waitresses were very bubbly and friendly and gave a great service. We all want to come back again.

We booked a Sunday lunch and I'm glad we did, it was delicious, I don't know how they do it for the price, so much meat. The staff were friendly and genuine. If this place is a option go for it, you won't regret it.

Roasts to die for - lovely family run pub

As a complete foodie that has always been reluctant to go out for Sunday lunch anywhere with the thought that no one can produce a roast like I’ve tried to perfect at home 😅, I saw a photo of the roast dinner on offer here and I honestly thought to myself, it’s exactly what I want to see on my plate! So we gave it a try and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations massively! A proper home cooked roast dinner with no part of the plate a disappointment. The meats were cooked to perfection, the roast potatoes like my own (no frozen rubbish here), the vegs were very generous and the gravy out of this world. I think the price was very reasonable for the quality of the food produced and the staff were very attentive and friendly from the minute we walked through the door to the moment we left. A little hidden gem that deserves to be noticed. I look forward to trying some of the other home cooked dishes they offer!

Travelled from Aberystwyth for a family gathering Saturday, decided to book here for Sunday lunch before travelling home . Although a little hungover we all enjoyed the food . There was so much of it. The staff were really friendly and chatty , very welcoming. Highly recommend

Went for an afternoon lunch, which was very good, the baguettes with chips and salad are good value and taste lovely. Service was friendly, and excellent location with views on to the Thames at Greenhithe.

Went here for a cracking roast. Is a proper old school style pub, staff are lovely and friendly and the quality of food is great will definitely return.

Really generous portions, meats all cooked to perfection. The gravy is better than I've ever had at home or in a pub. Vegetables all served separately which is perfect to share as a family or just to pick what you like. Thoroughly recommend a roast on Sunday at the Pier. Perfect to be able to pre book so you can show up and know that everything you ordered is ready and available for the table.

A fab local dog friendly pub with welcoming staff and fresh cooked food. Claire, Aimee, Holly and Julie are great with my son and dog, and Amy makes an excellent roast dinner with fresh veg, crispy roast potatoes and decent sized portions. Definitely somewhere worth returning to and a welcome change to some chain pubs.

Visited the pier hotel many times and it’s never disappointed me - food is delicious and staff are there to help with any queries. Will be visiting again 👍🏻

My friend and I took our two 4 year old boys to this pub for Sunday dinner. The food took quite a while to come out and boys being boys they were playing and talking fairly loudly. Not loud enough for any staff to come...

Would give this 0 stars if I could. Food took a very long time to come out, and staff were very dismissive. I was appalled to witness customers shouting at a couple of ladies and their children, and staff did nothing to assist the ladies, they left the customers to shout abuse at them, followed by giving the poor girl the bill and making them leave. You could tell the restaurant had sided with their regulars- all who seemed out of touch with what it is like to have young children, and felt their presence was more important than these young children and women. Mob like behaviour, we will not be back. There was no understanding, we could see they were all fed up waiting for their food, and were just being typical boys and amusing themselves! For a restaurant to go with the easy option and keep their regulars happy while assisting them in their attack of these young ladies is vile. There are no words to describe how disgusted I am. I will not be back, and I will be making sure others are aware of this

Wonderful. Friendly staff. Great home cooked food ( the smoked mackerel and horseradish paté is a thing of wonder and beauty). Been going here for almost 20 years on and off and the staff make you feel like a regular the minute you walk in.

Decent pub grub, if you know what I mean. The various birds behind the jump always provide good banter and generally pleasant. Good place to watch the gentrification of Greenhithe.

This pub is consistently very good indeed. Service is personal, attentive and the food never disappoints. It is well presented, fresh and reasonably priced. I go about once every 6 weeks and have never had a bad word to say about it.

Very good atmosphere & great homemade food

Found the restaurant info online, it looked nice so visited with the intention of a family meal on a Saturday night but although the bar was open, the restaurant area was in darkness and bar staff just said "it's closed" and carried on serving at the bar. No explanation was given. Not very welcoming so we left and went elsewhere.

After living in Greenhithe for a few years, we thought we'd best try somewhere on our doorstep for a Sunday roast! Very pleased we did!!! The staff were friendly, welcoming and polite and the food was excellent, as well as piping hot! Huge portions too!...
