Lovely courtyard cafe/ restaurant. The setting is idyllic and the food really unusual, lots of beautifully prepared salads and other dishes, the colours alone were a joy to behold. Everything was so fresh, we really enjoyed our lunch and will certainly return.

Slowest service in the world Staff at counter very friendly but clueless to their stock and taking forever to serve. I watch a trail of customers going back to the counter asking where their food order’s were. The potting shed is as bad or worse with the kiosk being manned by a single server and a queue 21 deep If you come to the gardens bring your own food.

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Picton Castle gardens. I had a tuna melt panini which came with the most gorgeous side salad I have ever had in my life. My son wanted to swap some of my panini for his salad and I gladly obliged. I could have eaten a plate of that salad alone, it was delightful. Also tried some aubergine and lime cake which was also really good.

This was meant to be a quick lunch ,took ages ,and very expensive, 2 coffees 1 water ,1 ham sandwich with a bit of salad and 2 pieces of cake was £37 . No one told us there was an extra £5 on top of the £12.50 entry charge to have a guided tour of the house so all we were able to see was 3 rooms took all of ten minutes though the room guides were very nice and told us a lot. Evidently the information re tours is on the opposite side of the path just before the shed you pay at and obviously where we were all looking as 3 of us all missed it,it would have helped if the person in the shed had asked if we wanted to do the longer tour. The grounds are nice and the walled garden lovely.

This was supplied plated and in a Basket and was a real treat to eat in the sunshine, with a glass of Spanish Wine. We had a great time at Picton castle restaurant and the walled gardens. Of course seeing the owls is a delight, with their handlers being very professional and very gentle with the birds and allowing chosen members of the public to interact with them. We were delighted with the food at the restaurant, the service and the really pleasant staff team made our visit all worthwhile. We all agreed that our food was simply superb. We had, baked Camembert with apricot crumble, and bacon leek and cheese, crusty bread, quiche and assorted salads plus the usual teas and coffee’s. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The weather was warm and sunny and the plants, trees, bushes and flowers certainly looked their best. A very friendly and helpful person available at the entrance is worth mentioning due to her friendly, knowledgable demeanour, unfortunately we didn’t take her name but thank you for your kindness. We found this place by word of mouth, my first experience of tapas, it was made all the more enjoyable by the very helpful and knowledgeable server. She explained everything to us, her recommendations complimented each other beautifully. Every dish was full of flavour, we enjoyed the chickpea offering, the belly of pork with lentils was succulent. This is a really lovely place. The stately home is beautiful aswell as the gardens. I think it's overpriced for entry though as for pur family it was £35 and that was for entry aswell as guided tour of the house (which is 50 mins). I found the tour was ok but i expected alot more foe the price and it didn't quite last 50 mins. There is only a slide thats built in lile a wooden castle its ok for the kids but thats the only play area. The walks around the gardens are beautiful tho and the owls are ok. I find its overpriced for whay it is tho but would deffinatly recommend. Visited over May half term with my family. It wasn't particularly busy but it was constant. Ordered 2 ploughman's, the chicken breast and 2 children's dip meals. My eldest daughter was going to have a ham and cheese panini but they had run out of ham & cheese by 1pm so had a chocolate scone. Personally I think ham and cheese are one those items that is a staple. After an hour wait, with 2 younger children we asked how long until our food was ready, as this was an hour wasted around the castle. They then apologised but then brought out 2 kids meals that weren't what we ordered. They had run out of houmous and other ingredients and decided to hash together what our children might like. This was a packet of quavers half a chopped carrot, 2 slices of cumumber, 2 buttered discs of French stick and a mini curlywhirly for 4.95 each. At this point we had been waiting an hour and 16 minutes for our food. The table next to us recieved their food, which was wrong, but they accepted a round of drinks as an apology. We then asked for a refund and left, very hungry. My advice take a packed lunch instead. The staff in the restaurant were very young but very good. I think they just needed a more experienced catering person to organise the kitchen as it seemed like chaos. There was no argument about the refund.

Being pretty much permanent tourists in the U.K. means that we have meandered our way through almost every tourist attraction and castle that we have come across during our time here. With this in mind we have long since come to the conclusion that most of the food served at attractions is middling at best. This however, is certainly not true of Maria's. What a wonderful surprise! The food is brilliant, the atmosphere is welcoming and the setting is fantastic. We had a variety of tapas that ranged from stuffed mushrooms (amazing), to stuffed peppers and a chicken & chorizo dish (sublime), accompanied by fresh crusty bread and olives. All in all, just fantastic and well worth a visit.

Today we had the pleasure of visiting Picton Castle Gardens, but more importantly Maria's Tapas restaurant at the castle. Wonderfully warm staff and the atmosphere made us feel as if we were in a local Spanish tapas restaurant. Maria and her wonderful chefs tantalise the tastebuds with the most gorgeously fresh offerings. The kids meals are fresh and wholesome and the tapas which we shared between us were some of the best I've had. The freshly prepared salads which complimented our food were creative and beautifully prepared. Eating here was a real treat and I hope we have the pleasure of returning. Definitely somewhere anybody visiting Pembrokeshire should visit. Thank you...

The food here is really good and the coffee excellent. It's only a small place, which gets busy in the summer ,especially if there is an event on at the Castle, but seating is outside too and staff work very hard to make your wait not too long.

Beautiful quirky location with such tasty food. Top quality food in lovely ambient setting with very helpful delightful staff. Wholeheartedly recommend. Just check opening hours in winter when Picton castle is shut.

Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.

It was a rainy Sunday in Pembrokeshire. We were hungry, and a Google search pointed this place out. We almost knew what to expect and fancied a chinnese. Anyone with physical limitations do not try to access. No lights to the path and pitch dark. Once you're in it's cold and sparse. A few tables to accommodate sit downs but this place runs mostly on take aways. The cook was very busy. A young man taking orders, serving and dealing with customers coming in and out. Bit chaotic. We kept our coats on ate our dishes, which were nicer than expected. Worth a venture ... some fun a bit like faulty towers. We would go back.
