What a fantastic Italian restaurant. I went with 4 friends to eat here and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff are super friendly and the whole experience was great. I highly recommend this little restaurant.

An amazing meal made even better by outstanding service! A lovely little restaurant with a real personal feel. The food was so fresh and tasted unreal, we shall definitely be returning and would recommend to everyone visiting Sheffield!

Absolutely gorgeous food! We were visiting Sheffield for one day and came across this restaurant. So glad we did, the food was probably the best I’ve eaten in a long time, staff were attentive and helpful and price was spot for the quality and taste. If your in Sheffield , then pay this restaurant a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

What an amazing meal and fantastic service in an authentic setting. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed a wonderful meal. The garlic mushrooms were delicious!!! Highly recommend and will be coming back soon.

I booked this on the off chance , by searching for Italians via Google. But what an absolute find it turned out to be . The food was to die for and the service was 5* . Living in York we are lucky to have many Italian restaurants that we visit quite often . However this place tops them all . We are already planning our next trip to Sheffield to just visit this place . I have not one thing I can moan about, I never ever write reviews but this place was definitely worth one . See you again soon.

As ever exceptional service, especially our waitress, who's name I took , but lost the bill with her name on it. We visited on evening of Friday 7th around 17:30pm and sat behind the reception, so should be easy to identify her. Began with a K, if this helps. Starters of Calamari and crab were superbly fresh and so tasty. We both had pasta dishes, a King Prawn , chilli one and a seafood, again both were thoroughly enjoyed. A nice crisp white wine to accompany. The ambience and friendly nature , yet thoroughly professional service is to be credited.

Called here one evening with no reservation after an appointment in Sheffield and made extremely welcome and relaxed as a solo diner. The food, wine and service were all first class with a fillet steak like no other! Excellent quality meat, perfectly cooked, superb starters and desserts......and tip-top wine! A good family business - well done 'Team Piccolos'!

Arrived on time ,table provided, staff pleasant, but, food uninspiring, in fact average, portions small and unimaginative, particularly the sharing starter we requested, particularly as comprised of two mixed dishes!. Gargantuan pizza was anything but, approx, standard nine (9) inch, nor was the topping layer a compensatory factor. Of the chicken dish, a small section, which we cut off - still raw, bloody, Risotto ,ok. The calzone was small, visually pleasant, but very wet / soggy pastry , with liquid oozing from crimped area when cut, filling similar, approaching a puree consistency, billed as Picante option, mine was not, although rough cut chilli was sprinkled on. I do agree with other reviews in terms of pricing, for level of quality , somewhat high. £27.95 per bottle for in my opinion a standard level Malbeck,??. We ate the food ,paid the bill, left a tip, - not waitress fault - said nothing to staff as my partner hates to complain, but when asked if all was well, smiled ,declined comment and left it at that. Overall very disappointing.

We visited Saturday 10th December and were in party of 10. The food was exceptional and the customer service was spot on, we felt very well looked after. Well done, we will return 😊❤️

We visited Jan 22 for my sisters 18th birthday All food is homemade and delicious, they also catered really well for my Mom who is Coeliac The garlic bread is a must :-) really nice selection of wines also and reasonable prices for the food and portions givenLovely staff also!!

Definitely not Italian. Dated menù very similar to every other so called "Italian restaurant" in sheffield. Came with a few friends,food was average not authentic but staff was friendly,decent dessert.

We loved our visit at Piccolos. The place is tiny, but not lacking in nice, rustic ambiance. We tried pastas, pizzas, seafood, steaks and desserts and all were spot on. The staff was super attentive and friendly. It’s great to find a small, local family run restaurant like this, so different from all the mass market “Italian” eateries out there. We will be back.

Certainly atmospheric (in a fairly predictable way), and family style. But, standard pasta dishes that are nothing out of the ordinary for an Italian restaurant in Britain, and greatly over-priced.

Amazing food and amazing service.Simply put the quality of my overall experience at this restaurant this week has been one of the best that I can remember.I never leave reviews, I am only writing one as the staff were amongst the most friendly staff I have experienced and with the fact that the food was outstanding.I have seen some negative reviews on here that simply cannot be true, this little restaurant has a personal touch that just is not found elsewhere.Honestly if I still lived in Sheffield I would go every week.I recommend the prawn and avocado starter with fruits of the sea Linguine.Thanks again.Mr Wilson

My wife and I had last visited Piccolo's before we got married 14 years ago. We booked at the last minute as a reservation elsewhere was cancelled. I was so glad we came back here as the food and service was exactly as I had remembered it. The starters were plentiful without being too big, the steaks that we had were cooked to perfection with wonderful sauces and the desserts were also wonderful in size and taste. As a coeliac, I also had sufficient choices. Hopefully, it won't be 14 years before we return.

My husband and I visited here last night and are so glad we did. I had to re-arrange the time of our booking and the chap on the phone was super helpful and accommodating. Having read some reviews we decided to share a starter and boy am I glad we did because it was huge!A giant chunk of ciabatta covered in melty mozzarella cheese and topped with super fresh tomatoes and greens. My husband had a vegetarian lasagna, he said it was full of flavour and tasted super fresh and bright. Not greasy or stodgy at all.I opted for the fillet steak, rare, it was cooked beautifully and served with skin on chunky potato fries and a big, dressed salad. Now I’m not usually a fan of desserts in Italian restaurants but I spotted a brownie on the menu and couldn’t resist. Warm and soft with the right amount of crunch on the edges, served with rich ice cream and fresh fruits. Amazing. I can’t wait to go back again and I’ve even been looking at the menu online today trying to decide what to try next. Also, every single member of staff we encountered were friendly and mega welcoming. Thanks for a lovely evening Piccolos!!

We had dinner at Piccolos and we all ordered fish. Each dish was delicious and beautifully cooked. They were able to accommodate us despite the fact that there had been a mix up over the booking. Staff were friendly and helpful. The manager is not good at wearing his mask, it mainly covered his chin.

We tried to reserve a table but after not being able to, we decided to walk in and were kindly accommodated.We had prawns and olives with bread for starters, which were delicious and full of flavour. I chose the seafood pasta and my partner chose lasagna, we were also eager to get some chips. The food was tremendous, and safe to say, too much to manage!!!!Absolutely incredible service from the lovely staff there.We live just round the corner and will definetely be coming back more often!!Thank you again for the wonderful service and delicious food. Amazing place! My partner and I have been coming here to celebrate Valentines and our anniversary for the past 5 years. We love it! The food is always gorgeous and the staff are absolutely lovely. We live in Manchester and travel to Sheffield to eat here. Our visit last night was as perfect as ever and the waitress had us leaving in stitches - thank you!

Small and cosy restaurant, but also has a room upstairs. Felt really Covid safe - only place we went that week that took our temperatures. Very friendly staff. We had salad caprese and prawn cocktail to start with - both exemplary and delicious, with fully-ripe tomatoes and avocado and juicy prawns. I had a delicious dish of chicken rigatoni al forno and my partner had pollo a la creme, also yummy. The tiramisu was also spot on. Couldn't fault anything.

Me and my partner have been coming to piccolos for a few years now and everytime we visit the food is brilliant and the service is amazing. We have tried many italians and none have come close to piccolos. We have tried many meals on the menu, always have a starter and a main and enjoy every mouthful! If you are in Sheffield this is definitely the place to visit. Professional, warm and friendly everytime we go. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

We booked in advance for our first family meal out in almost a year. There is plenty of space as the tables are now distanced and COVID secure measures in place.The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and for a couple of hours you can pretend you’re in Rome enjoying time away from the real life of lockdown and work. We were celebrating eldest son finishing his a levels so we went all out and had three courses and my husband enjoyed the Barolo too.Wonderful place and we will be back again. Thank you.

We booked in advance just to be sure.We were not disappointed, the restaurant had social distanced tables and hand sanitiser as you arrived.The food was just as amazing as we had remembered. I can’t speak highly enough of this place. Definitely my favourite Italian! The staff are so friendly and the food is always fantastic. It may not be the biggest place to eat in Sheffield but it’s definitely the best!

Mi pareja y yo reservamos y fuimos a este restaurante el 4 al 20 de septiembre para cenar. Siempre reviso las estrellas y las críticas en TripAdvisor, pero este restaurante no está cerca de 4. 5 inicio. Los calamares no estaban frescos y cocidos en aceite viejo, las aceitunas estaban demasiado saladas. El vino que me ofrecieron sabía a almíbar mezclado con agua. Las pizzas no estaban cerca de la pizza italiana, pequeñas y saladas, y la base era un helado comprado en el supermercado. No recomiendo este lugar a nadie.

Es un restaurante pequeño, con un ambiente agradable. Nos sentamos arriba en una habitación con solo otra mesa (debido a las restricciones de Covid 19) y esto se sintió perfectamente seguro. Cuando llegamos nos recibieron calurosamente, y el servicio mantuvo el nivel adecuado de familiaridad sin exagerar en todo momento.La comida estuvo muy buena. El Calzone vegetal era excelente, relleno con una mezcla de berenjena y otras verduras. Estuvieron felices de personalizarlo, sacando el chile, y pudieron hacerlo ya que las comidas se cocinan desde cero. ¡La mejor comida que este vegetariano ha tenido en un restaurante durante mucho tiempo! Las otras comidas, pizza y un plato de pasta con pollo, también eran muy sabrosas y abundantes.Con bebidas, la factura por persona era de 14, lo cual es una buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que visitemos Sheffield.

One of my favourite restaurants in Sheffield. Since living here for four years this is my number one pick for anniversaries, birthdays and my graduation! Food is sublime, there is always a warm welcome and excellent wine options.

Food was a 3 everything else was a 5. Pizza wasn’t very warm, wrong garlic bread and we had to remind them for the salad.

We visited the restaurant with our 8 year old and we all loved the food...the tomato garlic bread to start was great and they even offered to do a small pasta for our daughter... can’t wait to return!!

Booked in several hours before on a busy saturday night which was great. Greeted upon arrival by very friendly staff, who were a fantastic all evening. Menu has great variety for all tastes, portion sizes above what I expected. Food was perfect all night, with staff even coming over to pour our Prosecco, nice touch. Very fairly priced too, great restaurant which I’d recommend trying!

Visited as a couple and were a walk in table. Our drinks order taken straight away and the wine came over quickly. After ordering food the starters came out quickly. It took a while for the waiter to come and take away our starters, once he did the mains came out fairly quickly. After this we were sat with empty plates for quite a while, at least 15 mins. The staff were running about as if they were super busy, whilst there were a fair amount of tables in there were also loads of members of staff on the floor (at least 10 including managers). We had desert and asked for the bill which was forgotten about and had to ask for again. I think maybe the staff just needed to be a bit better organised. Food was fab just let down by these issues, which should be ironed out in a premium restaurant to justify charging higher prices.

Has the best Italian garlic bread that I ever tasted in my life, they have a unique way of making it. The staff there are super friendly and funny, excellent service. Highly recommend going there.

The food here is excellent and with a touch of being different from the run-of-the-mill. The Pollo Gamberetti, with a hint of Pernod, was excellent. The service is very friendly and helpful, but not over-bearing. The staff obviously know that they produce a good product! It is not the cheapest Italian restaurant, but it is worth every penny.

On Saturday 14th December we were invited to a firms Christmas dinner at your restaurant. The organiser asked that we ate in the conservatory and it would be quieter - it was not.

Lovely staff, gorgeous food and great atmosphere. We were made to feel really welcome and had a good chat to the owner about the election. Nice one comrades!

18/11/2019 - returned after 2 years last night. Still the same wonderful food and the attentive service. It’s a shame we don’t visit Sheffield more often. One of the best restaurants for good good without the stuffiness that some bring. They seem to genuinely care and take pride. Calamari and gnocchi superb.

Great food, the calzone is the best I have ever tasted, packed full of taste. A nice atmosphere, and pleasant staff.

I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions. It never fails to disappoint. The food is so fresh, so tasty and so well cooked. The staff are lovely and always make you feel very welcome.

We'd been wanting to visit this restaurant for a couple of years and finally made it. Thankfully it was everything we hoped it would be! The staff are really friendly, and down-to-Earth so we immediately felt at ease.

I’ve seen the restaurant many times walking past and finally came with my Mum. Absolutely lovely, the staff were so delightful, helpful and kind, the food was very homey and filling without being massive portions. I recommend the bruschetta, it’s amaaaazing :)

Comida increíble Fantástico servicio. Un sentimiento cálido y acogedor. No había nada de qué quejarse en este hermoso y pequeño tesoro de un restaurante. Nos revisaron varias veces y esperamos de pies y manos. La comida era hermosa. No hay razón para no comer aquí siempre que puedas.

Les plats sont copieux et excellents, le service est attentif. Le restaurant possède 2 salles, celle du bas est très animée, celle du haut beaucoup plus calme. Le week-end il vaut mieux réserver sa table.

We fell upon this gem whilst searching for a meal on our weekend trip. We went on spec, were greeted warmly on arrival, and seated upstairs in pleasant surroundings. Menu offerings were good, standard Italian fayre and the wine/drink list was adequate. Our food was delicious and well prepared. The restaurant seems like a family run business serving authentic Italian cuisine and providing a good personal service. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Me and my better half always try to make a monthly visit to this little gem and it never disappoints. What ever you order make sure you save room for a garlic bread, mind blowing. Keep up the good works guys James

On Monday 9th Sept this small restaurant virtually full. To my relief, the lovely waitress accommodated me. It had a cosy, informal atmosphere - wonderfully welcoming for a lone diner.

At 7pm on a Monday evening (9th Sept) I was surprised to find this small restaurant virtually full; but that's indicative of its local popularity. This was my first stay in Sheffield, and I had singled this place out as somewhere to try. Much to my relief, the lovely waitress and attentive owner were able to accommodate me.

I dine at this restaurant regularly because it is the best there is. Always top quality with brilliant service . It is a fair treat

Everytime we go anywhere else we use this restaurant as the bench mark and honestly few come close.

Came here with my friend for dinner and had the bottle of house white as soon as we got there which was yum! The waitress, Justine, was very nice and made the evening perfect. We had starters and mains and couldn’t fault a single thing was absolutely delicious!!! Couldn’t have asked for better food or better service, will definitely be coming here again as soon as possible, thank you :))

Been a couple of years ago and the food was lovely not sure why we waited so long to visit again. We had garlic bread starter to share then I had chicken picante without the olives and my husband had calzone with a side order of fries and a green salad. The food was amazing, it was presented well and every mouthful was a delight so sad when the plate was clean. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and the decor is not particularly super cool but don’t let that put you off as the food is definitely in a league of its own .

We enjoyed our experience from start to finish. A very friendly welcome, good service and lovely freshly made and cooked Italian food.
