Great value, well cooked, hearty fare. Friendly staff in a nice busy (with good reason) atmosphere. £35 a head for three courses each, 3 beers and a bottle of wine.

Food, service, atmosphere all very nice. 2 courses in the evening worked out at about £35 per head with a soft drink. No alcohol.

Me and my partner are from Manchester and we heard such raving reviews about this place! What a perfect place for our valentines trip week we thought.. the food was beautiful but the service went from 5 stars to 2 as we waited nearly an hour possibly over for our bill while watching people seated after us checked on and sorted.. upsetting especially for my partner who had plans for afterwards for us..

Took advantage of the excellent lunch menu. We had mussels and Italian sausage with barlotti beans to start, lasagne and fish goujons for mains and tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert. All very,very good with the front of house being faultless. Been here a few times now and it is always excellent.

Decent mid-range restaurant. Food is reasonable and service ok too. They have a limited options for beer. Can accommodate large groups.

Let me start by saying the food was awesome, and we would absolutely come here again. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Ambience is great. My only complaint is minor, no one came to check if i needed a refill on my drink. However overall this is a great place to come eat and i highly recommend a visit here.

Nice relaxing Christmas meal with excellent service

Great find in Glasgow, we went 2 weeks before Christmas. The choice on the menu was amazing something to suit everyone. Will definitely recommend and look forward to a return visit.

Food is good. Service is always good too. My friends and I always go back so that's a good sign! It's not really catered for vegetarians (not a lot on the menu) but my meat eating friends love it. I put up with what's there and it's usually good.

Excellent restaurant situated five minutes walk from train station. Good value lunch deal, pleasant staff, comfee atmosphere, good choice of wines by the glass or bottle. Old style but still the best

Revisited on 06Dec2024 Disappointed this time round. Confusing menus, unhelpful staff during order taking. It wasn’t a welcoming experience comparing last visits. Food was good but overall experience could have been better. Previously Absolutely fabulous Authentic Italian restaurant in Glasgow! From the settings to the service, the quality of food to the culinary skill. Love it! ❤️

Service was the worst I’ve ever experienced, was there for lunch table was booked but waited in the rain to get inside the place for 20 mins after booking time, they give you 2hrs which they could not adhere to themselves. Was there for almost 3 hours, portions where like kids sizes, price was very expensive. Will never be back, had a cheek to add 10% service charge when they should have been taking money off the bill for the worst service ever!! Gave 1 star cause no option for zero

Went for a Christmas works lunch recently. Ordered the calamari & roast turkey dinner. Calamari pretty tasteless, turkey dinner was tasty apart from only having 4 sprouts as the veg! Not even a carrot or parsnip, seriously! Place v busy & servers appeared quite harassed.

We had a fantastic meal this evening! Great service too!

Great Italian restaurant. Food was amazing and service was even better. I forgot to mention one allergy beforehand and when my pasta arrived, there was no problem to return it. I definitely want to go back and try different things. 😊

Best Calmari, sea bass and salmon was sooo good The Focaccia bread was average Linguine pasta was perfect The restaurant was a bit too suffocating as you don’t have enough space to sit.

Food was good, but the service took really long. They advertise lunch for 30min in n' out. We already waited 30min to order the food.

Happily we had pre-booked this very busy and clearly popular restaurant. Having chosen some sides to start, our main courses (pasta) arrived before we had finished them which was slightly irritating, but the food was fine and service was friendly and reasonably efficient. I would be happy to eat there again.

Highly recommend this place the food and service was excellent

I can see why someone with limited exposure to great Italian food might find this place good. But honestly, it will be a stretch to even call it decent. Focaccia was too cakey, lacking the soft and airy texture. Olive oil served was flavourless, I doubt it is even EVOO. And I ordered seafood linguine which was bland and lacking in seafood taste - what a shame.

Went tonight with friends hadn’t been for a while but the Celebration Menu was so worth it The ambiance the Staff the food was lovely it was a celebration of our 50th Anniversary so glad we came would go back again in a heartbeat !

I have tried the Renfrewshire branch using a it is on voucher , it was amazing , loads of choice from the special menu,chicken parma was good , loads of veg (carrots and sorts), pile of potatoes so I thought I would try the glasgow one ,using a voucher booked table and got seated, got our drinks. got the menu , not as much choice as previous one , no mozzarella sticks , and I had the chicken parma, was thiner than a £1 coin, there was 1 small potato halved in 2, and 1 piece of broccoli. wish I had taken a picture , I left hungry . so anyone going ,use the Renfrewshire one . avoid this one , you don't get much for your voucher

food is tasty, but the price doesn't reflect the portion size. £7.50 for 6 bits of calamari and £15 for a small portion of carbonara. if I was in a sit down restaurant I'd expect to pay that for the service etc but not for takeaway.

My wife and I had a reservation at the restaurant. However since she was getting a migraine and wanted to leave we decided to ask for the food to be given to us in the form of a takeaway rather than being served. I ordered a lasagne and please see the attached picture of what I got. The takeaway box which was tiny in any case was filled only half high with a tiny amount of cheese on the top. It really looked like some left overs or comparable to lasagne from Morrisons. Which in this case would really be a close competition and possibly Morrisons will be the winner. I sent a few emails but they never bothered responding. It's quite a shame as we have eaten in Piccolo Mondo numerous times before and have never experienced this. The service was really good as usual though.

We went here as a party a couple weeks ago and never got a chance to review the place. I don’t usually write reviews but the food was okay, nothing special and certainly not the best Italian I’ve had in Glasgow, I ordered a carbonara. The place is clean but small adding a great atmosphere overall. It’s really unfortunate to have to say this but caught one of the waitresses vaping, absolutely shocking. Not even outside the restaurant. The other girl was also quite rude and we did not like her tone and wasn’t very welcoming. I overheard the other waitress call her Sophia or Phia, so I guess that’s her name. I don’t know about the other girl who vapes. It seems they’ve been there a long time but still don’t know proper etiquette. It’s clear that all though it’s a nice place and food was okay, the restaurant can give their workers some more restaurant training. Not sure if I’ll come back again.

No one liked the spaghetti carbonara. Also, the waitresses seem a bit freaked out, like they don't know, as well as unfriendly. Add to that the fact that they (mandatory) include a 10% tip, when on top of that they have done a terrible job, and, voila!!!!Hence the 2 stars, I don't understand that high rating they have on Google. But, these people who make such positive comments on this site, what do they eat at home?

We have been here twice and will probably return. Great place with Italian cuisine, obviously adapted to Glasgow's tastes, without losing anything in flavor and elegance. Friendly and professional staff, romantic atmosphere. The owner's advice was invaluable for our stay here. We recommend it for those who want to eat well even when they are abroad

Do you know Italy ? yes, don't go to Disney Land !! It's Véry expansive for a cook out of méditerranée !! Risotto is Not, may be a Kind of mix Between paela and bad piment rice....from pays basque... Cakes are Scottish and nothing is italian. Sound is bad version of il était une fois l'Amérique...Poor Ennio Morricone !!!!!

Don't waste your money and your taste buds! Simply average food. The restaurant, apart from the accent of the waiter and the statements on the menu, has nothing Italian. More or less everything is frozen. The starters are quite good, the main courses average and the desserts inedible. Avoid nesquik tiramisu and boiled, uncooked apple pie at all costs. Especially since it is very expensive and we pay for the service (in addition and which is more than banal). -> 50 to 60€ per head, full dinner with first price wine.

Excellent Italian restaurant. Top quality-price ratio. We had 2 risottos and spaghetti for the children, and everything was very good. And to finish, a tiramisu and a small cappuccino.

Absolutely fantastic place! The service was exemplary, all staff were friendly and professional. The food was absolutely outstanding! My boyfriend and I went here on a date night and ordered the two types of bruschetta, seafood pasta, and ragù. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! We sadly had already made other plans for dessert but will definitely be back to try that too.

Poor service at end...Don't book with 5pm...treated like 2nd class citizen, happy to take circa 15% tip, table of 3...as soon as paid harassed to leave. Even when waiting for friend to finish visiting toilet facilities, clearly ready to go after.....all whilst 7 empty tables around us...when raising concerns at reception about poor ending to nice day, advised at desk..."Don't book with 5pm next time!" Actually don't worry, won't be back....poor attitude!

The celebration menu is great value for money

Food was fantastic, not so being chased out at 9.30pm. Would I return? Yes, food was great, service good, all served in a pleasant atmosphere.

A lovely evening meal with friends. We each had a starter and main, with a couple of bottle of wines. Food was very good and tasty, fresh and plentiful. Not five stars as have had equally good Italian food in other restaurants which this matched, but did not exceed. For the four of us £200. Atmosphere busy and nice buzz, decor more traditional than modern but a nice place to dine all in Would recommend and return.

Food is really good..staff good. Decor....could be better..but don't let that detract from going. Worth it for the food.

If you are in Glasgow and like Italian food in a lovely restaurant, please visit. Comprehensive menu and really top notch. Great atmosphere and lovely staff. But remember to book, as it can be very busy. Ask if you want something not on the menu, and they will try and accommodate you.

Lovely Italian restaurant in the heart of Glasgow. Staff are always very friendly and extremely attentive to our requirements. I cannot give higher praise. This is a must visit location for excellent Italian cuisine.

Had heard good things about this place but unfortunately the service and food were poor.

Unfortunately, this is a restaurant living on past glories - has there been a change in ownership? It's a place we always wanted to try but it always seemed fully booked (usually a good sign). We booked a table with our family to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service was unfriendly, food poor to average, and a musty smell throughout the place. To top it all, the waitress "misheard" me when paying and added an additional £10 tip when I paid by credit card. No one in our party of five will ever return. So disappointed after looking forward to eating here.

We had such a lovely lunch... The food was great. I liked the decor. The toilets are impeccable.. Frankly, I can cook at home. When I go out, I want good food...of course....but I really want to feel welcome. For me, the sense of hospitality is extremely important. So, I want to be greeted, seated, and well- served. And that's exactly what happened... The Staff are lovely...professional..and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Lovely bustling restaurant. Main course pasta was delicious. Starter tuna carpaccio tasted a little off and we had to leave it, which was a shame for£12.50. Wine by the glass also not great. But on the whole a really decent offering. Staff excellent!

Food still delightful, but the overall service from some of the staff wasn't up to usual high standards, not offered parmesan with pasta, incorrect cutlery and then the bill was wrong at the end which summed it all up, but it got corrected and we will be back. Hopefully not a table for 2 where 1 of us looks at a wall and not the other half

Very busy, very good food. Good attention and staff helpful and managed very well though busy. Short walk from Glasgow city centre, and convenient for rail and bus. Also do a great lunchtime deal. Very popular. Award winning restaurant over many years. Make sure you book for the evening.

After searching for a restaurant on Google, the waiter told me that locals need to make reservations to dine here. When he saw us coming in, he specially changed a service staff who could speak Chinese, who was very attentive. In addition, the food is also very delicious, recommended

£14.5 for 2 course. I chose main and dessert. I ordered cheese cake . It is too creamy and not much cheese taste. A bit disappointed. 2nd visited for dinner on 28Dec 2023. We chose the Pre-theatre Mena. We ordered starter and main course. Everything is good. I like the prawn cocktail and calamari fritti.

This restaurant for my money is the best Italian in Glasgow, the food is delicious and the quality of produce is exceptional. The ambience and atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. The staff are friendly and professional and attentive The street parking is usually good. The restaurant is well placed in the city, plenty of transport choices taxis buses and trains all available.

FESTIVE MENU Booking for 16 is like herding cats but Agata made the booking process easy. Extensive menu was well received by our party, the food and service were spot on

Went here for my work's Christmas lunch. Service was excellent, food was gorgeous. It was just a little to busy for my liking but is just my personal opinion.

I will also be writing to the Piccolo Mondo Management to express my party's displeasure at being told to leave at 2.20 pm when we had the table booked until 3.00 pm. The male staff could only be described as surly and abrupt, in fact, the only member of staff who was even vaguely pleasant was a young waitress. The quality of food was adequate, but certainly, for myself not worth the additional surcharge for the linguine marinara. A very disappointing lunch, especially when the table behind us were seated before us and not pressured to leave. One would almost believe that 4 over 60 females were viewed as an easy touch to clear a table.

Tasty food and well looked after by the staff

Our family of 5 called in at lunchtime. Busy restaurant but found us a table quite quickly. Food was fantastic great value for money. Attentive staff ,service was excellent. 1st time visit,will definitely visit again. Highly recommend.
