Piccolinos in Warwick

Not a very warm welcome. Pizza was poor, bland and mostly bread, spinach ravioli was nice, just lacking in seasoning and flavour. Staff members looking very uninterested and not welcoming at all £50 for a pizza, ravioli and 2 drinks Left feeling a little disappointed

4 of us went on a Saturday for a treat, the food was beautiful, even though they were really busy it was hot and all came together. I would recommend it. But book on a Saturday, very important.

Mixed bag - after a confusion aboutour booking which the restaurant had lost, the risotto was delicious but the pizzas tasted like basic supermarket thick crust frozen pizzas. Very disappointing and quite expensive - above London prices - for a family meal out.

Not good. Used to be regulars to this place. Having been several times a yr for over 30 yrs. Think we are going to call it a day. Tonight especially the service was poor. Food took an hr to come and in honesty starters arrived after main had finished. Food quality also not on par. Maybe chefs have retired or on holiday.

Very disappointed with the service received. I had ordered a small Prosecco bottle and instead received a 330ml bottle which I did not notice until I had drunk most of it! Pointed this out to the manager at the end when paying for my bill and was told that I should have known better. I was looking forward to having my lunch here as the food is good But after my experience today I will not be going back!!! I was made to feel like I was trying to be sneaky with my drink order. So instead of having a drink for £8.35 I had to pay £16 instead. An apology from the staff for messing up my order would have sufficed but instead I was made to feel like I was trying to con the restaurant. I left feeling like I had been conned out my money fitting a bill for a solo lunch of £40!!!!!

Lovely place, which felt warm and cosy. You could sense the passion from the chef and front of house. Italian music playing in the background that most would recognise and be able to move to while you wait for your food ('Hey, mambo' was my favourite). Once the food arrived for me and my girlfriend, we did have to ask the waiter for cutlery! it was an honest mistake as it was busy, plus staff apologised. Now the food, my girlfriend loved the seafood starter and main. I myself had the Arancino, which was AMAZING (has Ragu meat inside, so not vegetarian). For my main I had the calzone, which slightly disappointed me as the dough had been over done, leaving it hard to cut. The filling which was Bolognese was incredible, but without the soft dough, I was disappointed. Now, all the other food coming out looked fantastic. If we were to come back again( which we will! ) , I definitely will go for a pizza instead of a Calzone. Thank you for a great night all!

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow and unattentive. It took well over an hour to eventually receive our food, and we waited ages before that to even have our orders taken. Granted it was a Saturday evening, but when the food arrived it was quite staggered coming out, in fact one of our party basically didn't receive their food until the rest of us had finished eating. The portion sizes were variable, but mostly on the small side, and one of our party had a very small portion compared to everyone else for some reason. I'd have happily complained in person about these things, but in the end we just wanted to get out of there as quick as possible as we had somewhere to be at a certain time and didn't want to be late, and it was very difficult to get the waiters attention. Besides not one staff member even asked us if our food was ok, which I think was a first. There was one girl who said she was quite new, who was sweet and more attentive than the other waiters. Some of the meals were quite nice, but the spaghetti bolognese was more tasteless than a microwave meal, the Al Forno was bland, the lasagne was ok, but not the best. It's not a recommendable restaurant unfortunately.

Good food, very quick service and reasonable price

A great meal, as usual. We always try and stop off on the way past Warwick on the M40 and have never been disappointed. One of us always has the excellent seafood linguine. With a Zabaglione to follow although it is not on the standard menu.

Came here for a meal to celebrate my daughter’s exam results. Myself and my daughter had pasta which was lovely, my husband had pizza which he said was bland and tasteless. We had such high hopes as this place was recommended to us. Also the waitress lacked any personality and seemed thoroughly miserable!

Horrible experience, food was great but service ruined our family’s experience, cocktail was undrinkable, over charged us and ordered a pizza to takeaway and they forgot about it. To then make us wait nearly half an hour before it came to us and not even to be honest but we could see what was going on, to then charge my elderly parents more money when I went to collect the car, after we had paid our original bill. Sad as we are locals but they should re consider their staff moving forward.

This is not an Italian restaurant. Frozen food and very low quality. Products from Iceland and lidl.

Fancied something light so ordered salads here. Really really good. Umbria was most excellent with the meat wrapped melon.

The service is a let down. The restaurant is lovely and cozy. We were given our drinks promptly and well chilled and nicely recommended. However we waited ages for waiting staff to come back to take the food order. The food arrived quite quickly and hot and tasty. Again a big wait for anyone to come to ask about dessert but once they took the order arrived quickly. All in all, service very lacking in thought and efficiency but I would still recommend this restaurant. Just don’t have high expectations in the service.

I love italian food and have been to many italian restaurants in my life, also lived in Italy for a year and can tell you that this place is definetly earned a place at the bottom of the list. Very dissapointing tasting food and service, waste of time and money.

We received a friendly welcome and shown to our table at the back of the restaurant - somewhat stark and uninviting Our order was taken which consisted of a small lasagna and a carbonara.'it took some time to come but when it did I was told that the lasagna was lovely and that I should also have had that...instead I chose the carbonara much to my regret (in hindsight )... it was creamy enough (resembling tinned soup) but it was very bland and unimaginative and didn't taste like a carbonara should Would we come back if ever in Warwick again? No I don't think so

Shame... such a bad experience in a restaurant that serves such good food. But, when there was no sign of the main course arriving after 1 1/2 hours.... we paid for our starters and wine and left. Never ever going back.

We love Italian food and the artichoke ravioli with four cheese sauce is the best ravioli I have tasted anywhere and I have eaten a lot in my time. It was difficult to fault any element of either of the two dinners we eanded up eating here because the first night was so good. The dessert menu has a huge range on offer and the pistachio souffle I had was unusal and enjoyable and my wife loved her Bailey's ice cream sundae. The house trebbiano is excellent for the price and I recommend it. It was busy - unsurprisingly- on both nights we went so booking recommended though we did get in early evening about 5.30 on both occassions as walk-ins.

Despite making a reservation we'll in advance we had to sit in a cold bare room at the back of the restaurant next to the open door leading to the toilets. We had to wait 40 minutes between ordering and the food arriving. When it did mine bore no resemblance to the mouth watering description on the menu. Basically it was awful. We went there to test it for taking future visitors. Will not be returning, ever.

Have been returning to piccolinos nearly 20 years. The standard of food has not wavered and you know you will always leave having had a great meal. Staff are always friendly and can always recommend good choices if you can't decide

My family have been coming to Piccolinos for over 30 years. Service is always 10/10, food is always 10/10. The cheesy garlic bread is the best I’ve ever had! Lovely vibe inside the restaurant; perfect for any occasion!

Sir Thanks for your explanation of my daughter-in-law Holly Fishers review. However, it is far from satisfactory. The initial booking was made for an outside table, yes, because we wanted to bring our dog, but more importantly, for personal reasons that do not concern you. At no point was an inclement weather alternative discussed. We visited on two occasions previously, both times with our dog, negating your "policy" clearly and have been made most welcome. In fact, on both occasions, the weather was cloudy, but the table was prepared, the awning down. and a heater provided if required. On the first visit, we actually sat through a thunderstorm, and the awning was perfect protection. The staff were happy to serve despite the weather. One young lady even provided a bowl of water for the dog?! With regards to Saturday, my wife called on Friday to confirm we were still coming and would be sitting outside whatever the weather, but if this was an issue, could we sit inside, with our dog in his stroller. She was told that was a management decision, so we requested a call back, which we never received. Either you're ignoring your staff, or they're not communicating correctly. Either is not good practice for dealing with customers. You had no right to assume we would comply with your wishes on the day without communication, as we had already confirmed our intentions. Had you made it clear on Friday that the outside was closed due to the weather, we would have understood and cancelled. To allow us to arrive and wait 10 minutes while the key was found to unlock the door to the courtyard, and to then find you totally unprepared was bad enough, but for you to then argue with my wife, instead of discussing the situation as the business owner, is indefensible, and not even offer an apology! Out of respect for the customers who were already sitting down to lunch, we decided against any further confrontation and leave. At no point were we asked to leave. In fact, in response to my wife's suggestion of a negative review, you said you didn't care about reviews and because you are so rude and arrogant your final advice when told we were leaving was"good, and don't come back". Obviously happy resting on your 5 star reviews and immediately on the defensive when something negative is posted, which looking at your feedback is your go-to practice. Negative feedback is supposed to be used as a tool to improve your operation, is it not? Appalling behaviour for a Manager/Owner of any business, particularly a restaurant.

An absolute wonderful experience, fresh tasty food, attentive service and a great atmosphere. It honestly feels like you’re in Italy! I feel like people are too quick and harsh to give negative feedback rather than compliment this lovely family run business.

Food was excellent shame it was spoiled by the staff rushing us to move the table on - only given 1:30hrs for the table so no time for dessert as the main took 50mins to arrive.

We are a family of 9 and a dog and we booked for our 3rd time, we booked 2 months ago for a birthday celebration. After confirming the booking the day before and it still being fine to sit outside what ever the weather we arrived to find the door still locked and they were unprepared for our family arrival. After managing to open the door the junior staff arrived telling us that they could wipe the saturated seats and lay the table for us. Everywhere was so saturated as the orning hadn’t been opened to keep the table dry. Just giving them a wipe wouldn’t have been adequate enough. They had prepared a table inside for us but not checked we had the dog. The manager now intervened with a disgusting attitude telling us what other people do when the weather is bad, even though they had been called the day before to say we were definitely still coming regardless of the weather to sit under the awning. After discussion about us having the dog we were arrogantly told by the so called management that they are not a pub they are a restaurant. The family left we were all disgusted with his rudeness and we explained we would write a review when we got home and his response “he didn’t care and put his hands together as in prayer and said please don’t come back”! This was very shocking as the hospitality industry is on its knees. The absence of customer service on this occasion has dragged Il Picolinos down to no more than a transport cafe. What a shame!!

Disappointing - food was ok but no better than a ready meal. Service was OK when they weren't chatting amongst themselves. Just seemed like this place is tired and going through the motions.

Have been using this place since they opened their first restaurant in Leamington. Amazing Pizza and pasta 😋 Always had great food and service.

It is a great place to eat Italian. Delicious freshly prepared food . Some really tasty desserts. I can recommend the Bakewell Bellini cocktail.

My partner took me to this restaurant last Saturday evening for the first time. He is a regular. The review is only on what I ordered as he enjoyed his soup, veal and profiteroles. I ordered the milkshake gelato pistachio flavour. I was expecting something creamy or a mix of ice cream and milk with some pistachio but I ended up with a flavoured milk topped with whipped cream. So first disappointment. I had the light dusted calamari which was nice despite the 2 sachets of tartar sauce ( a first for me). I had the lamb cutlets with the linguini and asked to be cooked medium rare. Unfortunately the lamb was well done so I had to send it back. The second time around, the lamb was cooked to my liking but the portion of linguini had shrunken (like for a child meal). But it was nice and tasty. For desert, as I love anything with pistachio, I went for the pistachio soufflé and was really excited about it. Well, I was disappointed, although it was nice , it was clearly not a soufflé. It was the pistachio version of a fondant au chocolat with un cœur coulant inside, unlike a soufflé which is fluffy, light ....but like I said it was tasty. We were sat not far from a party and they were extremely loud that we couldn't hear ourselves. It got better once they left. The staff was friendly and polite. Overall, not a great experience for a first time but will try again.

Good food, carefully served by friendly & attentive staff. No long waits either for the table (not booked on Thursday night in February) or the food. Would go again happily if we find ourselves in the area in the future.

If you're looking for a fab steak or the best hawaiian pizza you'll ever taste then this is the place to go. This is a great restaurant with knowledgeable and friendly staff who make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Excellent service from all of the restaurant staff who go above and beyond to give you that extra personal dining experience. We love dining here and visited many times over the years, Salv, Arturo and Dominic treat you as if your popping around to theirs for dinner, so attentative, on it and make you feel as part of the family. If your looking for a date night, a works staff party or just a good night out then give them a try. 10/10 Oh..and you must try the garlic bread..... Thank you all again for last night's excellent service, we didn't catch the name of our waitress but she was brilliant throughout our meal. Even though you were busy and we hadn't booked you still looked after us and got us a table. We look forward to seeing you all again soon. Risoto was not cooked well. Was awful couldn’t eat it.Not going back again.well you try what you can to make it look better the problem was your risoto if other people like it uncooked and with that sauce it’s there preference

Risoto was for my husband. He ordered one soup and one risoto but it was uncooked, couldn't eat that. I had pollo as a main you saying and linguine for my child. We ate them and are not complaining. If a dish is cooked well does not matter if its a starter or a main, you are telling us how to eat now. Just accept the fact that was untasty and uncooked.

An authentic Italian restaurant - not a manufactured chain churning out mass produced meals. The flavours are fantastic and there's such a variety on the menu, you can't possibly go there and not find anything you want to eat.

The service was very slow, what appeared to be people in training, however they were very friendly. The food was nice, pizzas were tasty and had a nice base. The child's spaghetti was a large portion, nice taste but a bit watery. Overall was a nice place to have dinner, the atmosphere was lively and their friendliness made up for the delays. Would definitely go back

Really great selection of Italian cuisine to choose from. Restaurant was quite busy and we had to wait a while before being seated. Everyone loved the pizza and Calzone ordered as well as the Italian draft. Definitely recommend for a visit with friends and family. Pre booking a table in advance recommended. Parking can be restricted so allow time to find any.

If you like your food straight from the microwave and so hot you dare not go near it for 10 minutes this is the place to come. That aside the food was truly awful, I’ve never had lasagna so thin, and swimming in liquid. I thought I’d been given the vegetarian option as the beef mince was barely visible You might consider £14.50 reasonable for a main dish, but I’ve seen better in the freezer section of Aldi!

We've been coming here for decades, the food and service are always excellent, my favorite dish is the caponata - absolutely delicious. The only reason for giving it 4 stars for atmosphere is the ambient lighting is now too bright. If you like family run Italian restaurants give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Brilliant restaurant, serving great food and good prices. Was a very busy evening so we were lucky to get a table, but wait times were perfectly reasonable. As the venue is fairly small, and across multiple small rooms, is did get pretty hot in there and was hard to hear others in our group. This also contributed to our server mishearing our order and so bought the wrong wine out, but was quick to rectify and also one person in our group wasn't offered the options as listed for their main. What she received wasn't how she would've ordered it had she been offered the option, but was happy to eat it as is and so didn't send back. No complaints at all on the quality of the food served, we all demolished the lot. The mushroom risotto and the meatballs were big hits and would recommend. If we're back in the area, we will certainly be coming back for more!

Just looking for something quick to eat on a Sunday, walked in and greeted. Sat down and had drinks very quickly, lovely server food was rapid and tasted amazing, top it off £40 for 2 people main and drinks. Well done 👍

Food is good, some positions better than others. Service was really poor, we had to wait for everything for ages including cutlery! They also forgot about kids meal which was far from ideal with a hungry toddler.

Called in here on a Sunday night having just arrived for a few days in Warwick. All the pubs had stopped serving when we stumbled across this place. The staff were accommodating and the food was delicious with very generous portions. Not the cheapest but considering it is a little independent restaurant I think they were pretty fair. Highly recommended.

We did not book/ reserve in advance. Si when we turned up for dinner, we were placed in the garden next to the wall. However as the time went on, the staff completely forgot about us. So after waiting for 15 mins, we went to the bar, paid and left. Wont return, as the service was $£!!.

Can't fault it! Starter was delicious, main course was very good, wine was really nice. Wish I'd had room for dessert but was too full by then! Staff were just the right level of attentive - easy to get help if you needed it, but you weren't constantly being hovered over. The atmosphere was nice, neither graveyardy nor noisy/chaotic. Very lovely place for a meal out. Food was delicious, even my fussy little one nearly finished all his! That is a big compliment to the chef!

Went in with the family who were all very hungry. Was shown to table and given the menus. Was then almost completely ignored for about 15 minutes by the staff who seemed more interested in making a cocktail for one of the owners/family. We eventually left without ordering. Went down the road to the Roebuck and spent over £120 on some lovely food.

We were only visiting Warwick for one night, staying in a motorhome at the racecourse campground. The weather was unseasonably hot and we didn’t want to cook or leave our dog inside a hot motorhome. We started the search for a pizza restaurant with outside seating and found Piccolino. Yes, they would allow our small dog in the rear, outside seating area. We were so happy to not starve because of having our dog with us. The pizza was very good, the house red wine was very smooth and the waitress was pleasant and attentive.

The food is tasty, but the taste is far from Italian. It is also desirable to improve the service.

The food here is very average; my pasta dish lacked any flavour or seasoning. It was just ‘ok’ However the service and decor really not ‘ok’ - had to wait a long time to catch anyone’s eye for anything and had to wait 25 mins for ice cream. They had clearly forgotten us, and it wasn’t really worth the wait at all. Decor very tired, plastic flowers on the table and dusty plastic fruit basket handing from the ceiling that looked like it hadn’t moved since the day the place opened. Piccolinos likes to say it’s authentic. Modern Sicily is not like this at all!! Just seems the restaurant can’t be bothered. A disappointing night out

Thank you to this restaurant for accommodating our family even though we hadn’t booked. Another restaurant in Warwick let us down and you were there to help. Food and Service were both nice. Tasted like a solid home cooked meal. Nothing too fancy and maybe a little over priced for what it was, but overall a nice experience. Staff really polite and friendly!

This is our first time visiting il picolinos, we arrived early but they managed to seat us in a timely fashion. We were sat and given drinks, hubby had a glass of merlot and it was very pleasant. I was facing the kitchen and could see how hard the kitchen team work. The lady in there clearly knows her stuff! They also look like they have fun which is nice to see. Food came out and looked delicious, it was. We both tucked in (swordfish & chicken) and although there was no check in to see how the food was I think the fact we were tucking probably spoke for itself. We also had a dessert each, the pistachio soufflé was extra tasty, when we asked for the bill it was pretty reasonable. All in all we were very pleased with the service, yes the decor is a little tired but it was packed and everyone was engaged in chatter and laughing so clearly it's not that important! We will definitely be back as it's a wonderful place with lots character and tasty food.

We had a sumptuous dinner on Sunday night. Unfortunately, I opted out to add on the service charge by mistake when paying the bill by card. Apologize that I realized it the day after and would like to pay this when I drop by your restaurant soon.

The staff was so nice, accepting to open the back terrace just for us so we could take our dog in. The outside was cozy and green. A good choice on the menu : we had delicious pasta. Didn’t try the wine or desserts as it was for a quick lunch. Would definitely go back.

Mediocre food with very poor service, despite the fact that the restaurant was not particularly busy. Staff seemed very disorganized .

Poor service and OK food. We arrived 5 minutes before the time we booked for. Shown our table and then waited 20 minutes before anyone came to see if we wanted drinks. These took another 10 minutes. Order food and then waited 45 minutes for this to be served. Serving staff regularly stood talking to each other rather than checking on customers. Struggling to catch someone's attention, I shouted to someone walking past to ask for the bill. Overall not the best. We have been but may not return 😕.

Last previous visit was 1985, and the food then, was delicious and authentic, totally different from today's restaurant. Decore is tired, lighting is depressing and the music was so loud and not even Italian themed. The young person serving us was so so rude, we came to the conclusion that she must be related to the owner. If you like reheated, tasteless food, served by rude staff, in a depressing setting, this is the place for you. This place has a greasy spoon cafe mentality and quality in the guise of a good quality Italian restaurant. Never again.

Revisiting an old favourite after a couple of years. I phoned to book a couple of weeks before, table for four at 7.30. We arrived to no booking! But the young professional staff quickly sorted us out a table so all was good. All food and service was excellent! Meatballs with conchiglie were really good finished with cannoli.

Main course took over an hour to appear and only when we enquired where it was no appoligies offered waiter totally oblivious to the situation.Just wandered how longer we would be waiting had I not asked the waiter where the main course was.

They served a vegan pizza with non-vegan cheese, despite me asking several times if the cheese was vegan, very disappointing service.

We visited Piccolinos on Saturday evening for my parents 31st wedding anniversary, the place they celebrated at on their wedding day all those years ago. No ice was offered or provided in the jug of water. No spoon was bought out with the soup. No check back was made on any of the courses and when paying we weren’t asked how everything was, we were just presented with the card machine. Twice two staff members tried to clear the table before we had all finished eating. All parties should be finished before this is done, it is basic respectful waiting. One of our main plates was badly chipped. The bill took 10 minutes to be bought over. There was no offer of Parmesan with the Spaghetti. The meal my father wanted wasn’t available. My parents have been coming to Piccolinos for over 30 years and this was definitely our worst visit. This place is going down hill rapidly.

Possibly the best pizza and certainly the most authentic pizzeria in Warwick!. Taste and quality are first class, and the service is outstanding. I can’t recommend this establishment strongly enough!. A trip to Warwick would never be complete without eating at Piccolinos!.

The food isn’t Sicilian or Italian it’s English people that have taken over an Italian style Restaraunt, the pizzas tasted like frozen pizza and lasagna slop with no cheese just a messy bechamel Expensive and didn’t give me a knife and fork when I asked...

Bad service - wrap chips water £9 cold food wrap tiny/ no salt on the chips asked for salt none ?? guy used the same cutter for every pizza he cut didn’t even wipe it over 20mins wait shocking

I don't get the pleasure of visiting family owned type restaurant very often. I enjoyed the overall experience of Il Piccolinos. As I entered we were greeted and seated immediately. Orders were taken in good time with enough time to choose. I had mozzarella garlic bread to start, the mozzarella overpowered most of the garlic but it was still very enjoyable. It was presented on the foil it was cooked in but this was no concern to me. For the main I had Tagliatelle Carbonara which had a lovely creamy sauce with a Smokey flavour from the ham. Cooked perfectly. To drink I had a San Pellegrino type drink that they seem to mix, it was enjoyable. For dessert I had Panna cotta, which was presented nicely and tasted just as good. And to end the price was exceptionally reasonable. A perfect restaurant for an easy quiet date

This is non-fuss home-style Italian restaurant with good food. It gets quite busy over peak periods on weekends, so book ahead. The staff are all very friendly. There was some slowness and the service was a bit chaotic the last time I visited.
