Went with my children and fiance and had a great night and food. Atmosphere was lovely and the staff were amazing

Service was so slow I didn’t get to eat my main course. Not acceptable when we had pre ordered all of our food for the private dining room

First time going, definitely returning. The food was delicious. The service was spot on. And the entire evening was perfect. We went for a date night, and couldn't be happier with how everything went. Thanks to the staff for making it wonderful.

Called in for lunch ….very good choice. We started with the tomato/cheese sharing bread and olives then the calamari. But the highlight of the meal was the BURRATA with grilled baby tomatoes and garlic bread. WOW the BURRATA was fresh and so creamy it was a joy to eat. The staff and management make your day so helpful and friendly.

Top Italian food in Hale. Eaten here maybe six or seven times this month. Every time, consistently good. Get in early if you want the carvery Sunday lunch, because we've been disappointed twice, when the lamb was already gone! They do a lunch menu during the week which you can get until 17hrs. Again, get in early, as every time, some items are already gone, but the choice is wide and you'll always find something great. Well done

Lovely place, lovely food, lovely staff, couldn’t fault it

For context, I ate here once in May, once in June and twice in August 2024. The most recent visit on Saturday 10th August will be my last. Owing to a busy schedule, I ate just a couple of biscuits during the day with bottled water and my first meaningful food was the scallops I ordered at 5pm. I only drank water with the meal so it’s reasonable to conclude that what followed was due to the scallops I’d consumed. By 7pm I was experiencing the worst diarrhoea which persisted throughout the night until around 9am the next morning. At 3.30am, I vomited my entire stomach contents. I contacted the restaurant to advise of the issue and they deferred to a third party although I struggle to see what their investigation would find given I had flushed away the evidence. Furthermore, I attempted to report the incident to HSE but they said that without a sample analysis, food poisoning would be difficult to prove so there was no point making a report. After speaking with a hospital Consultant to record my sickness, he said that samples would not be tested until symptoms persisted 7-10 days. I did ask that the restaurant might refund my bill but nothing has been heard from them. It seems bizarre that I have eaten all over the world and yet I get food poisoning 0.1 miles from my house. My advice is that if you are at all vulnerable in terms of health, then this place is best avoided. Clearly something went wrong - and these things do from time to time - but it’s how a company responds which shows you what their priorities are. The very least the could have done was offer a refund as a gesture of goodwill. I mention my previous visits to show I have no axe to grind but their lack of care for what I experienced tells me that this is not a business I want to spend my money with in the future.

Fantastic Italian in Hale Our favourite Italian restaurant anywhere in the UK. Never fails to impress. Lovely setting, great ambience, outstanding food and an attentive team.!!!

Just had a meal here. There was a bit of an accident during our meal where the staff spilt drinks on a couple of us … I must say that the way they handled it and apologised really made us (weirdly) feel like we had a great experience. The manager was great. They really went out of their way to make sure we were well looked after. We’ll be back!

The evening was truly delightful. We started with scallops and carpaccio, followed by spiedini and seafood spaghetti. Every dish was outstanding. The staff was not only polite but also very helpful. I highly recommend this place; it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Lovely duck and vegetable dish, would recommend. Tiramisu was a large portion...beware it's filling! Good food and waiters were pleasant. would go again.

I gotta say, Piccolino blew me away! Pasquale, the guy running the show, not only knows how to make you feel welcome but also had us cracking up with his jokes. He's like the captain of a fantastic ship, leading his crew with style. Speaking of the crew, they were awesome too. You could tell the difference when Pasquale was around, he just sets the vibe. The place felt cozy, the food was top-notch, but what really stood out was the service. Every little thing we asked for, they were right there with a smile and some great suggestions. If you want more than just good food, Piccolino is the spot. Thanks to Pasquale and his crew, our night was filled with laughs, great food, and memories we won't forget. We're definitely making a return trip!

Service = great, food awesome (great steaks), onky slight niggke was the atmosphere= spoiled a little by few young ones running amok between tables, but it was the early evening I guess 🤷‍♂️

we ordered: bolognese - £16.25 lasagna - £16.25 margarita - £13.50 calzone - £15.75 wine x2 - £30 martini - £11.75 coke - £4.25 apple juice - £3.75 overall food was great however partner wasn’t a fan of calzone. Good portion sizes and flavours. Service was great, welcomed by a cheerful man and seated within seconds of entering (came about 15 mins early from reservation). At the end the (optional) 10% service charge was automatically added which we didn’t consent to (or be asked about) however when mentioned to the waitress she quickly got it sorted without any commotion. lovely food & lovely staff, overall great spot. Some cheaper options and also some pricier options, definitely something for everyone. Will be returning again ◡̈ thank you x

A really great meal. The staff were so helpful but gave us space to chat before we placed our order. Price was very reasonable, especially as we had wine. There is more space between the tables than at Knutsford which made it quieter and easier to chat.

I had booked this restaurant for Mother’s Day - for my wife and both our parents. I arrived and gave my name - no booking. However, they could not have been more helpful and accommodating- which is a good job as I later realised I had booked it for the week after!! So very thankful to them for saving my blushes, especially on such a busy day. The food and service was excellent. We had a minor hiccup with two dishes which were cold - totally new meals arrived a few minutes later, so whilst a little inconvenient, we were happy. The waitress came over and proactively stated that both meals had been taken off the bill - we had not said a word. Now that is brilliant customer service in action! So a lovely meal, good atmosphere and amazing service. Many many thanks.

First time here, so I thought I'd go for a classic Italian-style carbonara (i.e., without cream-they offer you a choice) to establish a baseline impression for comparison. It was delicious. I must say, though, that unexpectedly, the star was the dessert, for my dining companion and me (we had different ones). This is a very good restaurant indeed.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! From the moment we walked in exceptional! Each dish was bursting with authentic Italian flavors and cooked to perfection. The pasta was perfectly al dente, arrabata nice and spicy. the pizza spain – it was truly heavenly, with a crispy crust and delicious toppings. The service was top-notch; our server Rosario was attentive and provided great recommendations from the menu. Overall, it was a wonderful evening filled with delectable food, impeccable service, and a cozy ambiance. We can't wait to return!"

Great place to eat in Hale Village

We had a Sunday evening here and found the food and service to be absolutely spot on. We were a large group of 9 people and the staff were very attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. The food was very tasty and the wine options were a pleasant surprise. Would highly recommend!

Excellent meal that was served. The starters of Bruschetta and aubergines which we shared were really good. The duck that I had was crispy and sweet. It was well cooked and very tasty. My wife had the linguine with clams which again were delicious. Dessert was a trio of ice cream that again I couldn’t fault. The restaurant was quite quiet for a Friday night but with Valentine’s Day happening soon then it was possibly to be expected. The decor and ambience was really pleasing and our server was knowledgeable and pleasant to chat with. Never been here before but will certainly return next time we are in the area.

We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food. It was very frustrating. The food was mediocre, probably could have cooked it better myself. I felt sorry for our waiter as he was trying his best. I made a complaint to the manager and the bill was on the house but unfortunately it ruined our night and won’t be going back. My experience here before this one wasn’t great either, I only came back because there a was 50% off offer. Apparently not enough staff in the kitchen.

Dreadful. Don't put on a 50%-off-food offer if you can't cope with the numbers. We waited over an hour for our main courses. Our waitress however, was absolutely excellent, we felt very sorry for her as she was trying to keep everyone happy. We weren't charged for our food, but still didn't take away the fact that it was not an enjoyable evening. Won't be returning.

Impressed with Piccolino's exceptional service, especially considering how busy they were. The staff remained attentive and friendly, making our experience enjoyable. Waitress was lovely and polite. Due to a half-price promotion, I visited this restaurant, which boasted lavish decor and a carefully selected, incredibly attractive staff. The sight of these charming employees heightened our appetite. We ordered four rib-eye steaks cooked to medium-rare perfection, a standout dish indeed. The kids enjoyed delicious pizza and pasta. However, despite its elegance, the restaurant’s atmosphere was unexpectedly noisy, reminiscent of a bustling market. The patrons, seemingly oblivious to others, spoke loudly. This collective noise created an environment similar to a busy street market, quite a surprise for such a refined establishment. This was an unexpected aspect of my dining experience that I hadn’t anticipated.

We went for a special lunch to celebrate my late mother's life on the weekend of what would have been her 90th birthday - she used to love Piccolino's and ate there frequently. The staff were great, the food was too, and we had a lovely and emotional time.
