Excellent service and friendly staff. Really looked after us after a poor experience at our hotel.

Me and my friend booked here as we were attending a gig and with it being close to all facilities within walking distance we thought we would give it a go. Anyway it’s not what I expected the moment you walked it you felt welcomed we were shown to our room and everything was just perfect the shared bathroom/shower was no problem and we didn’t even really realise it was shared. Was always free when we needed to go :). It was clean warm and comfy. The room had a warm homely feel infact the whole hotel felt homely. I’ve never felt safer being outside my own home than I did here. The hosts were absolutely lovely. It’s just a beautiful hidden gem :).

Great pub near the station, cosy as well. Staff are friendly and the Guinness was bang on.

The space has been completely transformed—it’s stylish, inviting, and has such an incredible atmosphere. The decor is absolutely stunning, and the attention to detail shines through in every corner. Sara and Si have created something truly special. Their warm, welcoming energy made everyone feel right at home, and you could see how much love and care has gone into this place. The new DJ booth is a fantastic addition, bringing an extra level of fun to the night. It’s safe to say this will be a new go-to spot. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out! I come to Manchester all the time from Dublin, this bar is incredible! Beautifully decorated and the staff are so welcoming, the most I’ve experienced in Manchester. Special shout out to Sara and Freya who made me feel very welcomed . This place is a must if your in the city, 10/10 would definitely recommend.

I stayed here as a student, 35+ years ago. Unsurprisingly, it's changed a lot but it still has a lovely vibe. Very happy here.

My first time visiting here at the weekend and I can't wait to go back. Such a lovely atmosphere inside, warm and friendly, excellent music and every member of staff was super friendly and helpful and made you feel like you'd been there before! Very clean, the toilets were spotless as was the bar itself. An impressive range of drinks at very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend and I'm looking forward to becoming a regular!

Sarah and Simon welcomed me excellently as a residential guest at Piccadilly central. My train was delayed which meant I would arrive past check in time, however upon contacting Simon he made sure the desk was still open after hours for my late arrival. Additionally Sarah gave me some great information and insights on living and working and Manchester, giving me helpful recommendations on what to see and do in the city, and even what areas to look at for my relocation to Manchester. Furthermore they were exceedingly generous with granting my request of a late check out and a place to charge my phone and have a coffee before my appointment. Overall fantastic people with warm and welcoming personalities with a visibly good relationship with all of their punters. A fantastic job from the new owners and I look forward to coming back as soon as I can! Thank you again to Sarah and Simon!

Always liked this pub. Gutted I didn't get to wish previous owner (Michael) fairwell and to enjoy his retirement. New owners Simon and Sarah are great and I love the refurb ❤️

I visited on Christmas eve to meet some friends who'd just got back to Manchester after some time away. I am so impressed with the renovation and the new look of the place! It's really warm, inviting and modern but it retains some of the historical elements of a traditional British pub which is great! The proprietors served us at the bar and were lovely and a great chat. I reckon the new management will absolutely smash it with this venue. I will definitely return. 😊

Came in this evening for a drink after hearing good things. Lovely atmosphere, and for city center great prices! The landlady Sara was lovely and made us feel very welcome! Didnt try the food but what I saw coming out looked delicious so will definitely be back to try! Lovely little gem! Will be back!

EVERYONE needs to visit this bar, the atmosphere is through the roof. New management can not do enough, Sara and Si give you the homely vibe any one would love. So get your arse down there you won’t be disappointed.

We visited the bar yesterday after the markets and absolutely love the vibe of this place. Warm, welcoming, trendy and music. The food by Wholesome Junkies is unbelievable. First rate vegan dining and we all said how delicious each choice tasted. It’s going to be a regular visit for us lot 🌟

Cozy and friendly pub, definitely a step up from the old decor under previous ownership! The food menu is provided by Manchester’s plant-based stalwart Wholesome Junkies, with the creativity and flavour as great as it’s ever been. We had two festive kebabs and wish we could’ve tried the whole menu! Situated *just* outside the hotspots in the city centre, this would be a great place to grab a drink and bite to eat before heading into the city centre proper.

Recently under new management - whole new refurb looks amazing!!! Great range of premium spirits and cocktails. Good energy and music in the evenings. New home of wholesome junkies vegan food too! Had the wings - they were amazing !

I went for drinks with friends last night to celebrate the grand opening now that it’s is under new ownership and has been renovated. What a transformation! The new aesthetic is absolutely beautiful with the most amazing vibe. The new owners are the loveliest people and made everyone feel so welcome. The decor is stunning! Lots of happy faces all round. Had a lovely night out. The attention to detail is impressive and the new DJ Booth is such a great touch. Well done Sara and Si! Looking forward to becoming a regular. What you’ve done with this place is nothing short of spectacular. Wish I could give more than five stars. Bravo 🙌🏽

Accidentally walked in here thinking it was the alternative entrance to the Motel One. I'm assuming the owner, was extremely rude to me when asking what it was I needed. I would have come in for a drink as I'm staying at the Motel next door, but I won't be giving this pub any of my custom thanks to the very rude man 'greeting' people as they enter. Luckily the other guy at the table was a bit more polite and showed me where I needed to be.

Visited Manchester last weekend for a concert with my mate and popped in here for a drink Sunday evening. Landlord was most friendly and very very kind, he advised us the warmest place to sit and engaged in conversation with us about our stay in Manchester, he even went out of his way to bring over some free shots for us! Gorgeous atmosphere and very nice, welcoming interior. Spent a good couple of hours in here and had a great time chatting both to each other and to landlord! Thank you so much for your kindness, you really made our evening. We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Manchester!

The owners of this establishment came across very patronising. Obvious the place thrives off their locals, very clicky atmosphere (from the owners not the locals). Would not recommend this place unless you just want to sit in the corner in silence and drink a pint. However locals were very friendly!

Michael and team are always super welcoming and friendly. Fantastic atmosphere and one of the few 'proper pubs' left in central Manchester. I'll always pop in for a few after work before my train home.

Great bar, with a great music selection! Great location as in front of Piccadilly train station and clean toilets. The staff (especially Michael) are a gem. :)

Real pub atmosphere. 10 types of draft beer and 2 types of draft cider. Gin specialist and whiskey is also there. Friendly service and the pub is always kept clean. Definitely worth a visit.

Michael, the landlord, is so kind and so nice to have a conversation with throughout the night. Amazing prices given that you’re in Manchester City centre, definitely my new favourite place to go! Have recommended to many people and would recommend again!!

Just been refused entry because Im not a city fan... even though I was meeting a friend there thats a city fan on his way back from the match... clearly dont need my money so went to the Bull Head instead and was served with a smile... avoid this discriminatory location!

This is a great pub. The owners are so welcoming and friendly. When I was in Manchester, this was my local. The owners also took the time to chat to me as I was on my own. Will be back here on my next visit to Manchester.

Sauber, gute Musik und freundliche Bewirtung. Cider, gleich 2 verschiedene Sorten, waren super! Kurzer war auch gut. Gerne wieder!

The best boozer in the Piccadilly area. Mike and Keith are the best publicans, Really entertaining to talk to and genuine people to boot. You won't go wrong grabbing a few pints here or digging in for the evening and the rhubarb gin and ginger ale just seems to taste better here.

Nice atmosphere spotless and guy on door really welcoming and friendly would have been a 5 star had the second visit not been unpleasant when my hubby asked for a cup of tea for me as i didnt want alcohol in the afternoon to be told from bar man this is a pub go up the road for a cafe ! If you stay in motel one go visit these two lovely men they are so sound, out of all the bars we visited In Manchester this wee bar is the most welcoming and friendliest, from the Irish couple, wish we visited it more during our stay 🇮🇪

Cracking pub and superb staff , so friendly we went in after the man city game as we fancied a drink before our bus was due , i think it was the owner who got us a table and chairs so the kids could sit down , can fault anything, great choice of beers

First time in since the refurb/rebrand the other week before football. Nice little bar with a good range of drinks, a decent vibe, and friendly staff. Very convenient for Piccadilly station (clue is in the name I guess). Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Nice modern bar expensive bar prices but this is the City centre.
