Lovely little cafe, great coffee and wonderful home made pastries and cakes, skip the chain coffee places and visit here! Friendly owners and immacualtely clean cafe. There is outside as well as indoor seating available. Looking forward to my next visit.

Wonderful authentic Portuguese food and wine. Big portions of freshly cooked food served by friendly family staff. There is also a huge selection of freshly made cakes that all look delicious! Excellent value looking forward to another visit.

This place is amazing. And the lady, Crisrina is super lovely. Being portuguese I was really happy to find this place, because I was working in town for several weeks and it felt good to have some food that transported me home.

Food is excellent with home made bread.

Superb home cooked Portuguese. This is one of those gems: they look ordinary, in an ordinary street, but the food is fantastic. And of course it’s Portuguese/ Madeiran to be precise, so there is great coffee and custard tarts (pasteis de nata)

Amazing meal this afternoon at picapau! Very friendly welcoming atmosphere went through the menu with us to make sure we each got something we would love, lovely outdoor and indoor seating I got the tuna salad which had been got fresh from the market that morning, it was absolutely delicious perfectly cooked with beautiful flavours, my partner got the octopus which was equally as stunning The coffee is also really good matched my pallette perfectly, we got a cake to go as we were too stuffed but they looked too good!

Walked in, someone came out, looked at us, but didn’t greet us. Rude. Walked straight out and found another place.

One of our favourite places to eat & certainly the one we visit the most. Don't be fooled by it looking like a cafe. They serve amazing food and the owners are so friendly. They often do special dishes at weekends as well. It feels like you are in a lovely cafe abroad somewhere when you are there.

Delicious food... Mains where lovely and the desert was amazing... We had beef skewers and a passion fruit mouse... Coffee tasty too.. We even took some deserts home and they was delicious too :) Friendly, honest service! Will definitely return

Wonderful independent small cafe, excellent coffee, homemade cakes and food thankfully different from most high street chain offerings.

A cute small cafe, homely and inviting. A taste of Portugal that can’t be missed. This morning we went for a coffee and pastéis de nata (those little custard tarts) and both were delicious. Authentic, fair prices and even the tv and music make you feel like you went away for half an hour! Not sure what the wonderful smell was but whatever they were preparing for lunch was definitely tempting. Home cooked at the bar! Definitely a must try and great coffee, worth supporting a local business instead of the usual chains too!

The steak sandwich was awesome! The only thing I’d say is that if they did homemade chips it would be better, but it’s still well worth the money!

Order accepted through Uber eats, driver arrived at restaurant and order was marked as complete even though nothing had arrived. Spoke to driver- he said the restaurant told him the order had been cancelled. So we called the restaurant and the guy we spoke to was very unhelpful and just said we had to get a refund through Uber eats even though they had accepted the order, marked it as collected and completed. Such a shame as we had food from here a while ago and it was absolutely delicious. I’m not sure why they keep all of their online stores open for orders if they can’t fulfil them. Easy money I guess?

Worst customer service I have ever experienced!

Very friendly staff and some delicious options. We had to buy a few sweet treats to try. Freshly cooked chicken and steak in traditional bread to try for lunch.

Ordered a chicken burger and chips via UberEats, received an uncooked beef burger.

Very friendly staff, a wonderful place to relax and have some good food. They got a few vegan options and are very open to sujestions and have more meal option. Best soup a ever had and very affordable you won't regret it
