Bar staff friendly. Food was really bad. Had steak but couldn't cut it as was full of grizzle, chips were frozen and tasted sweet... I eat out a lot and this has to be the worst steak I've ever tried to eat. I had to tell the barman as food like that shouldn't be sent out by the kitchen. Definitely do not recommend this establishment for food.

Walked out at first because all but one handpump was off. A few hours later they had added 4 more ales and the Tribute was spot on. So glad that I returned.

James was great and served us some excellent cocktails. The food was tasty too and good value for money.

I have visited more recently than my last review. Hardly any wait to be served and the pint was very nice. It's not the cheapest in town but it was a pleasent experience. I have never tried the food but the food I did see being served looked very appealing.

Staff should be taught when preparing food for delivery and handing it to the driver not to put cold drinks and hot food in the same bag.

Having a terrible time seen better service provided in Wetherspoons. No garlic bread so have me cardboard instead. Been waiting 45 mins for drinks and staff just standing around like wet dogs

My wife and myself visited the phoenix for the first time this week , the atmosphere in there was good music was not to loud , ordered meal at bar then waited twenty minutes no meal !! Had a word with one of the bar staff and explained time we had been waiting she apologised and went into kitchen,almost immediately returned with our order , I'm sorry to say the meal was not very hot and the chips looked like they had been cooked more than once. Had a great couple of nights here. We visit every year up from Hastings and are always looked after by Natalie, Phil, Claire and the rest of the team. Great 80's singer on the Saturday night. See you all next year in October

Im in every other day, the staff are very welcoming, especilly George and Brad!! Great bar, great beer, great prices, what more could you ask.

Genuinely never been so disregarded as a customer in my life. When there are 7 people in the pub, 3 of which were myself, my husband and our friend, and the "manager" decides to kick us out because I was singing along to the artist they hired for entertainment. If you don't want to entertain your guests, I suggest you stop hiring entertainment. Disgusted and would never return. Coming from a woman who has sang in pubs and clubs for many years, this was a joke.

Management and staff are all friendly and efficient.

Family visit after a castle tour. 5 small plates, jacket potato. A glass of wine, soft drink and a real ale for £29.52, great value. Food was excellent, katsu chips were lovely , and the rest was very good also. A nice surprise to find this gem of a friendly pub in the middle of Tamworth. We will be back!

Great cask ales and great food too. It may take a while for your meal to be served but it is worth the wait. There are many lagers and ales to try while waiting. You will not be disappointed.

Visited on Friday evening the food was great & staff were even better - the bald guy (unsure of name) was so welcoming & provided great service & beer 🍺

The food here is always great but yesterday the food wasn't the best the chicken melt was not the best the chicken was hard could not cut through it, we mentioned this to the staff to tell the chef we was not happy , we had no come back on this no apology absolutely nothing. We come every Wednesday for lunch and we find the staff are friendly and there is no wait at the bar very organised to be honest it just would of been nice to have some come back.

Reserved a table for brunch at 11:00 for 6 people. Checked the menu online, breakfast and brunch food illustrated. Had x 2 reminders that morning. Arrived just before 11 to be told by my friends it was NOT OPEN UNTIL 12:00!!! Web site clearly states place is open at 10:00. My friends and I spent our money at Wetherspoons round the corner. Never getting my business again.

The worst place I’ve ever been too in 20 years. The bald man behind the bar refused service at 8.40pm on a Sunday evening said they was closing. Another bar nearby said this man probably just wanted to go home early. Even though their website clearly states open till 11. He was rude and very unwelcoming from the minute our small group walked in. I have visited this place once before and had a dodgy vibe before so didn’t stay and left promptly. The man was so rude to 4 women because he either only wanted just the men he had in the bar already or he was in-fact been rude to get us to leave so he could close earlier than he should of been. Either way would never go again and would tell many others to swerve this place!

The food is always lovely here, we were with a large group of friends and all of our food came out hot and at the same time. We all enjoyed our meals and really reasonably priced. Lovely selection of drinks, polite staff and great atmosphere. Will 100% return!

Ate a Christmas meal here .the food was some of the worst I've ever eaten with little to no care give to it. For example the salad that was served with every dish on our table was browning mushy and gross

This pub has changed names so many times over the years but hey that's the way of things I guess. I don't mind being here I personally find it a little cramped, when there's fewer ppl im ok for an hour or so. It is typical of a town bar that's used to customers having a couple and then moving on. The staff i spoke to were friendly competent and efficient. There's seating and an outside area at the rear the front has a few tables outside under cover also. Modern Clean and tidy facilities though a broken lock on toilet door was a pain, some choose to treat other people property with the contempt it seems. Not eaten there myself but I hear it's nice. The beer I choose was enjoyable with good temp sparkling glass too. A decent bar, I recommend it to all.

Its ok had breakfast three times there 1st time was nice after that it rapidly went down hill

Don't want to say too much because I didn't experience food but the menu looked good. All I can say is there was a nice range of real ales which were explained nicely when I asked for the darker ones. Person behind the bar was knowledgeable and despite it being new year and very busy the place and toilets were clean. Update: We have eaten here a couple of times since my first review and still no complaints as the food is good and great value.

Came for a bite to eat whilst shopping had a coffee which was really nice and an all day breakfast which was lovely and was so big I couldn't finish it all would definitely come again

Walked past here many times but this was the first time I visited. We had a drink and some food which was pleasant. Came out quickly and was great for the prices. Would visit again for a quick pint and something to eat if passing.

I've visited The Phoenix on multiple occasions with both friends and family. The food is really good quality and the service has always been amazing (especially Lee). If you're looking for somewhere to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner I would 100% recommend.
