I had shopped in here for years years although the pipes are quite expensive. I was looking for Hemani essential oils when one of them slipped from my hand when paying. Unfortunately the bottle of £2,49 broke. I was charged for it! I'm so disappointed that the man was so mean! He showed that it was purely accidentally. Even worse, when I queried he displayed an arrogant attitude. I'm not feeling happy. This shows me how much they care for customer retention.👎

This place has literally almost everything you can think of, not just middle eastern groceries. Also , i love that they are honest. Their pastries are fresh and they have the freshest hummus and baba ganoush.

Kentish Town's worst offender for single-use thick plastic trays (used for baklavas and other pastries). Though technically recyclable, recycling rates in the UK are poor and the emphasis is on eliminating wasteful packaging, something most businesses are taking seriously - but not Phoenicia.

Very nice for Middle Eastern products. Wide range of products at reasonable prices Very kind and extremely helpful staff. Also nice roast chicken and fresh meat counter.

Lovely food, very reasonably priced. Man on the deli counter was lovely and a good laugh.

Unfortunately the fresh falafel (veggie) wrap from the counter was dry, tasteless and underfilled.

Amazing deli choices with a rotisserie

Best place to get Lebanese/middle eastern herbs and foods. They have really good whole chickens and labne. My grandma used to come to this location when she would visit to get all the ingredients she needed, they are always so kind and welcoming here as well!

Has anything you need, fresh food and lovely staff

I am truly obsessed with this shop ever since discovering it about a month ago! It is a long overdue discovery because I've been living not too far from it for quite some time now. But like every treasure, the fact it was hidden from sight for so long means its discovery is even more precious. A rather unassuming shop front hides a world of culinary wonders inside. Everything I'd want from olives from around the world, to honey, hummus made fresh in store, Italian chocolate wafers, Middle-Eastern spices and all manner of delicious fresh fruit and vegetables. I am intrigued. I am transported. I never want to leave. Take all my money! I will be back many times over.

Impressive Mediterranean food selection with hard to find Italian pasta formats and diverse ingredients. Prices lean towards the higher side, but quality and variety are the main point. A top-notch store for unique finds and a go-to food hall in London.

I have been in the shop today, very helpful and friendly staff, I enjoy the shopping every time I go there specially the roast chicken, I love the different spices thy have , there is a big variety of spices from different countries, and the meat and chicken is always nice and fresh in the butcher.

Ive been going in this store my whole life with my family(we are a black British family). Today I went in, they had heaters right by the entrance which made the store really hot, I picked up my item and went browsing. I got hot so I placed the bottle down and took my jacket off. Picked the bottle back up and walked around the store. I then noticed this man who seemed to be following me. I’ve never seen him working there before so I assumed he was a creep since he was staring at me. I continued browsing and started to get scared when this man was still following me around all the iles not even trying to be discreet. Then he comes up to me and says he saw me put something under my hoodie. I was confused and shocked he had asked me this so i lifted my hoodie and said I had nothing. He then asks me “are you sure” which upset me more. I replied “of course I’m sure” he then said okay I was mistaken. Didn’t even apologise for wrongfully accusing me. As a young black female I felt embarrassed as me and the worker were the only 2 POC in the store. Worst experience I’ve ever had in there.

Extractive range great food. Best baklava

Shopped there on Jan 29 in the chilled marinated meat section. I noticed that an entire batch of marinated chicken trays were marketed as expired on the jan 28. I.e were already expired however still on the shelf. I informed the worker and he removed it from the shelf. I bought other marinated chicken in mango sauce that was supposed to last another day but it smelled funny to binned it.

Incredible selection of North African, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food, snacks, spices, etc. Quite expensive, but that’s probably to be expected with such shops!

The best rotisserie chicken, the best olives, plenty of foods from all over the world and great meats at a great price. Ticks all the boxes for me.

Very friendly, helpful staff.... You should at least have a wander inside. Great olive selection. Lots of different ingredients from many countries. Has eatery attached. Halal butcher. Middle Eastern & Mediterranean ingredients. A WHOLE WALL OF HERBS. Fabulous selection of fresh humus's. Long aisles of interesting pickles, chill sauces, many different beans, pulses, seeds. Good for the budding vegatarian interested in different cultural experiences. Maybe a bit pricey in some items...smoked almonds...BUT there's nowhere around that sells em cheaper.

This shop offers the best and wider variety of Mediterranean food. If you need a rare format of Italian pasta, or delicious fresh baba ganoush, or even just some olives, this is the place for you. Check it out and don't forger to try a fresh pastry with coffee. Inexpensive and heart warming. Edit: just visited after a few years and it's as great as ever!

Great food market with a large variety of preserves, herbs, spices, nuts, dried fruits, pickles etc. Very friendly and helpful staff, with decent prices for most items. Some difficult to find spice blends like zatar or berbere spice is also available here.

I have been shopping at the supermarket part of Phoenicia with no problems for years. The butcher's on the other hand, is another story. I tried to shop at the butcher's weekly but the poor service and attitude was overwhelming to the extent that I started walking further to go to another butchers. I have had this conversation with others who shop at Phoenicia and they also avoid the butchers. I was short on time today and I went to the Phoenicia butchers and what a mistake that was. The guy at the back had so much attitude from the get go. I was even scared to ask him for anything. I eventually mustered the courage not to be bullied and asked for what I needed. He just kept pointing at the fridge so that he didn't have to deal with me. When I asked him to cube my meat, his face was as if I swore at him. I got what I could and I required a few more items but I just grabbed my purchases and went to the tills by the supermarket and left the rest. The guy at the tills in the supermarket had no issues as usual. It's as if there are different companies. Honestly, the disrespect and attitude is so overwhelming. No one wants to have their Sunday afternoon ruined just trying to buy some food. It's as if I was begging. I have had this experience more than 5 times at the butchers at Phoenicia that I had to write this review. Please sort this out!

Lovely shop and staff very helpful

I really like this shop and wish I could give 5 stars. They have lots of Mediterranean food options from Greece, Italy, Lebanon, and other places that are hard to find elsewhere. They also have a butcher and a delicatessen section which sells ready made food in wraps or boxes which is really nice, and baklava type sweets too. There is also an olive pick and mix section which is great. The ready made food section is the best part of the shop: they have a pick and mix box section where you can fill a box with tasty Lebanese delicatessens. This shop has been here a long time and has many great features as I have just described. Unfortunately in recent times the prices have skyrocketed into very unreasonable territory and some of the ready made food is left out for days on end and then heated up I microwaves when sold. This should not be practiced and I wish they would stop and just sell this food on clearance or something.

I used to enjoy the food from the deli but I had the worst food poisoning after eating salad from here last night 😞

I just bought one of their baklavas, the big diamond shaped one. DO NOT BUY IT! It is dry as anything and not tasty at all! Very disappointed, I was really looking forward to it. Next time I will just trek to Green Lanes and just buy a proper one. Extremely disappointed.

Absolute gem in Kentish Town: wide array of high quality goods, knowledgable staff, and a great layout where you can do some shopping, and get something yummy to eat at the deli in one go. Can’t wait to come back!

Worst baklava I have ever tried, I paid 4.60 for 3 pieces came out to check how dry it was that I couldn't swallow it. Went straight in bin.

It was a good thing to find alot of necessities there until I found out they’ve charged me something I didn’t buy so double check your receipt before leaving the store and don’t be like me

This is where I go for a treat- baklava and spit roasted chicken. Also the range of food is mouthwatering!

Fantastic grocery shop with spices from everywhere as well as a fresh deli section.

Guy at the till pretended I gave him less cash than I actually did - making me pay twice. Didn’t want to cause a scene for only few pounds, never coming back. Really disrespectful and only enforcing bad stereotypes.

Worst roast chicken we’ve ever had. It was so salty that we had to cook every carb we could think of to accompany the chicken and try to dull the sodium levels. Not sure who was in the kitchen this day but it was a horrible experience to endure, we hate food waste otherwise we would have thrown it away instead.

Wonderful shop, has Chinese, Indian, Italian, Mediterranean and Arab food stuffs and ingredients. Lots of organic and fresh produce (including olives). Has a wrap counter and even baklava. Really great shop.

What an Aladdin’s cave of hard to find and exotic ingredients staffed by lovely people. It is rumoured Ottolenghi shops there for special ingredients. Best Baklava I have had in a LONG time. Good butcher, hot food, gluten free pastries and a fantastic olive bar.

Phoenicia deli makes the best place in Kentish Town to grab a quick lunch. They have a wonderful selection of hot wrap and meze box options as well as hand made pastries. The wraps and meze boxes are available with a few meat options and an incredible variety of vegetarian fillings all freshly prepared, and heated for you just before the wrap is made.

Hello, today I just came into the market to see the range of products in the butchery, and the butcher guy was quite rude while answering my questions I was just kindly asking the prices. That’s why I believe that the manner of the staff was not polite to the customers. Thank you

Fantastic variety of authentic spices, frozen and cooked foods that are hard to find anywhere else. The Lebanese sausages and kibbeh were amazing! During the current pandemic they controlled the flow of people perfectly which made the experience that much better.

Just by being in this shop, I already imagine myself as the new Gordon Ramsey. Being able to pick ingredients and flavours from all over our planet it's amazing. Now I just need to learn how to use them :)

I've only been here briefly, for Lebanese wraps. You can also buy Lebanese food in a takeaway box. Quite, but not unduly expensive. I keep going back. There's a whole Mediterranean food supermarket to explore too. 🤙

So much variety of Mediterranean food! Don't forget to try the chicken roast. I was only going to buy baklava but ended up buying it as well.

I just love this place! I go for the selection of fresh olives which are the best ive tasted thus far! The tabbouleh salad is so flavoured, the chilli olive oil is something I dont think I can buy anywhere else and the amount of Italian snacks and juices that are available, makes me feel right at home. I wish I lived closer but its worth the journey.

I love this place. It has so many things that you can't get in other supermarkets. It's my to go place when I need my argentinian products as well :)

The perfect place to find all mediterranean groceries including from Syria and Lebanon. All the spices, condiments and rare food items are there, plus Lebanese take-away and a very decent halal butcher. All at a decent price.

Great local shop. Phoenicia has a big prepared meat counter, fridges of Mediterranean cheese <3 like feta and halloumi, fresh breads, fresh loose veg, a wing dedicated to tasty deli wraps and baclava... and lots of loose olives (blegh not for me tho) I go every few weeks to experiment with an audacious range of pickles, sauces, spices, and a dazzling array of teas. I only get my olive oil from here - more varieties than I knew existed and VERY reasonably priced compared to high street supermarkets. All the essential carbs - rice, cous cous, bulgar, pasta, etc. Prepare to come out of here with 20kgs of amazing jars and tins of goodness. The staff are brilliant. My last visit they all pretended to be varying degrees of sons to each other leaving me howling with laughter.

5/5! If you are Greek/ Greek Cypriot and you miss our home foods I definitely recommend this place! Very clean and very polite staff!

Fantastic local food shop with a butchers inside and a cafe next door. They offer an enormous range of goods (spices, juices, biscuits, grains,tinned veg, oils) from all over the world. If you need an ingredient that's difficult to find for most recipes, you'll probably find it here. Highlights include the big buckets of fresh olives and varied selection of oils. Overall great selection, authentic and friendly.

Amazing selection of Mediterranean food!

This shop has a great variety of food. They spice selection is great, we have found some quite niche spices there before. They have fresh olives and dips (smoked aubergine is good) and the attached patisserie sells delicous cannoli (gluten free and regular). More pricey than a big supermarket but the food is more specialist (and interesting!)

The customer service was excellent. The food variety was also very very good. I found quality rose water for my biryani. The meat counter was very clean with no odour. Good selection of olives, quails eggs and more general fruits, vegetables and lots of Mediterranean foods. Will be going there alot more.

We had delicious desserts and coffee at the bar (honestly delicious wrap as well!) and the service was great (Aziz was extremely helpful and cordial, great guy!!!). The supermarket has a really nice range of high quality products around the world. It’s a bit pricey, but as another reviewer said: you get what you’ve paid for! Recommended!!!

Full range of mid east foods, slightly exxpensive but if you want something that much isnt it worth the little extra. Would shop there again.
