The food here is always great. The rare beef pho and deep fried pork and prawn spring rolls never fail to impress - eat in or take away always great. The banh mi rolls are always great. Go for the bay special.

Service was quick and friendly. Went with work colleagues and we booked in advance, otherwise we wouldn’t have got a table because it was so busy at lunchtime. The vegan options were nothing special, I had the vegan pho and the broth was a bit tasteless and bland, could’ve used a lot more variety in the veg. Portion sizes are huge but bulked out with the cheapest ingredients. The veg spring rolls were good but full of oil which came spurting out the other end when bitten into (not ideal when sitting opposite a colleague).

Walked past and saw they had banana blossom salad, couldn't resist. Salad was excellent (really good tofu), and my grilled chicken banh mi was delicious, very generous with the pickled carrots and daikon. ❤️ Cả phê sữa đá was the best I've had in London, robust and strong. Didn't have the phở this time but the table next to me loved theirs. Go after 2.30pm for daily hot specials! Minus one star for atmosphere because lunchtime rush is mostly a takeaway queue, I'm sure it's lovely usually.

I ate at Theobalds Road ’Banh Mi Bay’ Vietnamese Restaurant and I choose the ‘Chicken Pho Noodle Soup’ and the ‘Deep Fried Pork Spring Roll’. This, I highly recommend to everyone. It’s the perfect combination of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. To add to this great choice was the welcoming and friendly staff especially their prompt and professional service. I guess my problem the next time I eat here is, do I order the same great combination or do I try another of there traditional recipes. Decisions, decisions :)

Banh Mi Bay on Theobalds Road in London has been a favourite of mine for over seven years, particularly for its exceptional chargrilled garlic pork. This dish stands out as a highlight, offering a unique taste that I haven't found matched anywhere else in London or beyond. The restaurant consistently delivers an authentic Vietnamese dining experience, with a menu praised for its variety, including vegetarian and vegan options. The comfortable and casual atmosphere, combined with the friendly and efficient service, makes Banh Mi Bay a must-visit for anyone seeking quality Vietnamese cuisine.

Think this is better as a takeaway. Dine in prices are not worth it. Food is average, pho is good, nothing special. Fried chicken batter is authentic but has turned soggy. lemongrass prawn paired with plain white rice and basically cut up salad without anything, thus ruined the fragrant prawns. Can get loud and not hear what your companion is saying, think it's due to the high ceiling or structure that made other tables louder than they are. Tiger beer at £5 is really steep. Then there's also a quite high service charge for a eatery that's more like a takeaway. Service is nice tho.

Ordered delivery and it arrived bursting with lovely juicy meat. I ordered the grilled pork with extra chicken satay. Pork was sliced thin and had bite without being chewy, chicken was thigh meat and tender without rubbery or greasiness. Could have done with a wee bit more coriander, and the bread does ansorb the meat juices making it a little soft inside, but that adds to the taste and the Vietnamese baguette held its external crunch. Summer rolls were fine, sauce with them was lovely. Would definitely recommend the 2 fillings I had. I'm not a huge fan of the terrine, cold pork and pate you get in one version these but that's just me, and some people prefer the cold meat selection. Grilled pork can be tough but the one here was lovely.

I quite liked their bun noodle salad since there was a fair amount of meat on them. The rice boxes were also quite nice, the Bay Special one had a few different types of meat on it. The prawn and pork pancake was also quite nice and it came with fresh herbs and lettuce. The noodles were ok. I think that the flavours were nice and the portion was not too bad. I just can't recommend this little gem enough. I regularly visit the branch at St Pauls on Cannon Street. The speed at which the staff work and their organised process is an inspiration to others and sets an example of how other similar chains should run. But most importantly the food is absolutely sensational here. The flavours are excellent and the quality is second to none. They consistently deliver great food and are worth every penny! I have just bought the most incredible beef brisket pho. Their Vietnamese spring rolls are also very good and their rice lunch boxes are generous. Eating here early evening. Nice bright restaurant and a comprehensive menu. We ordered and then waited for our food. Then waited some more. Then chased up the ordered. Then chased again and finally the food came. In the meantime, a rapid stream of takeaway orders were coming out. In short, we felt that as customers eating in, we were some way down the queue for food despite the mark up for 'eating in' on the menu being significant. So despite the food being nice, the experience was not.

Confession: I came in because I miss Asian food and most of all, I miss Sriracha. Vietnamese food fits both categories and so I came in for a bowl of pho. I ordered the mixed meat pho which had raw beef and brisket. I didn't expect much seeing how this is Vietnamese food in London, but it wasn't bad. The beef wasn't raw, the soup could be richer, and there wasn't any tripe. That said, I didn't hate it and it satisfied my craving. The service was prompt and the food came out quickly. The prices were reasonable as well. I'm not sure I would necessarily come back but if you're craving a bowl of noodles like I was, this will do the job.

Its more a large café than a restaurant, and there’s absolutely no attempt to create a Vietnamese atmosphere in the place. Service was OK but not very slick, and they talked us into ordering more food than we really needed. That said jumbo prawns were tasty, the shredded pork spring rolls were mainly noodles with little meat of veg, but the meat that was in them was good. The savoury pancake was a bit too big for a starter. Pho comes in three beef choices, and the cooked brisket one was tender. The chicken one had more meat in it. The grilled chicken satay was very good. The chicken and noodles was a bit bland but a good dollop of sriracha sorted that out. Overall the quality was fair for the reasonable prices.

My Son who works nearby booked this restaurant for a family lunch. Really tasty food and good value with friendly service. Will go back when in that area.

I have been here many times, occasionally when the restaurant is very, very busy. Always the food is top drawer. Always a special dish of the week, and the pho is tasty, as you would expect. Crispy pork belly, noodle salad. Yummy.

On a very rainy day, I dropped in to get a warming bowl of beef pho. It was enormous! great value for money, very delicious. Sadly, coriander wasn't given in the side of garnishes, but I found that I didn't really need it. My only problem would be that the restaurant was split between take away/lunch time counter service and restaurant so I was a bit stuck in between that on my table and didn't receive the most incredible service. Food was exactly what I wanted, so definitely would go back.

Very rude and aggressive If you have a fetish and want to get scolded by the store owner after eating, you can go.

All the food was so good and tasty. Prices were very reasonable and the service was great too. Beef in my dish was succulent . The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was probably the best I've had in London.
